It wasn?t every day that your roommate came home covered in blood and nothing else. Nor was it every day that you walked in on your best friend and your roommate on their knees of your home, scrubbing the blood stains out of your carpet. But, as Levi was soon to find out, every day with Quinn was a new experience. An elk had been killed and that explained the blood. Quinn had killed it with his teeth and claws. That explained the nakedness.

Once the mess was cleaned up, the three friends headed out to eat. They didn?t make it to Quinn?s truck so easily. Keirra was up to no good and had pulverized the both of them with snowballs before they climbed into the truck soaking wet, shivering and dripping on the leather seats. The heater was blasting and between the warmth of the heated seat and the exhaustion of playing in the snow, Kierra soon fell asleep.

Adjusting his mirror he looked in the back and then eyed Levi looking over his shoulder. A light laugh and he looked back to Levi. "She tuckered herself out." He moved over to steal a kiss and then remembered where they were and quickly sat back in his own seat.

Everything had been so natural and free when they were within the confines of the RV that to suddenly be thrust in the semi public light, Levi felt like an idiot. Here was this gorgeous guy, wanting to show affection and he was being a wooden head. He sighed and offered a pained smile. "Sorry."

"I didn't come out for several years, there is no reason to be sorry. You're doing just fine." A smile and he looked back to Keirra again. "Should we bring her inside? Or take her to the penthouse? I wonder if Ger is looking for her." Quinn literally paid it no mind. Hand rested on the shifter as he looked between Keirra and Levi.

Levi's smile turned more genuine. And in the shadow of the dashboard, he lay his hand on top of Quinns, pressing his fingers to weave with his. His smile grew as he squeezed gently. "Let's take her home to Gerry," he said quietly. "And then we pick up food to go."

"Awesome wanna call it in?" He offered his phone over to Levi with his free hand. Because you best believe the one occupied with Levi's was not going anywhere. Not letting go of his hand he shifted the truck into gear and drove off to the building where Ger and Keirra lived. Quinn remembered it because, it was so close to the Inn. Huge shock that's where Gerry bought the new place.

"Sure." Taking the phone with his free hand, his thumb scrolled through numbers and such before he decided to search the net. "Ah, here it is. O'Dell's," he tapped the screen and a few rings later, the phone was answered.

"O'Dell's Deli, home of Rosie's famous and award winning Cinnamon rolls. This is Sadie, how can I help you?"

"Hi Sadie, I'd like two orders of your tall stacks, bacon and a carafe of orange juice, please?"

"That'll be sixteen dollars and twelve cents. Whose name please?"

"Tell Sadie it's Quinn... Morning gorgeous!" He laughed calling over to Sadie as he had to almost physically pry his hand away from Levi's before getting out and picking up the adorable little passed out preggers. He carried her up to the penthouse, handing her off to a probably very confused Gerry. As he bounced down the stairs he looked around the Alley, satisfied in knowing there was no one there he jumped back into the truck and waited until he was off the phone. Once he hung up Quinn would press a kiss to his mouth with such earnest it may have taken Levi by surprise.

Levi looked to Quinn, then shrugged his shoulders. Oookay. "Yeah, it's Quinn." He finished placing the order while Quinn was delivering the mail to Gerry. And while he waited, nobs were twisted and switches were flipped. He had no idea what the hell he was doing, but he was bored.

"Th..." he didn't get more than that out before Quinn's lips were pressed against his own. His eyes went wide and arms flailed to the side in panic. But the more he was kissed, the more he didn't he didn't care. His arms settled around Quinn and he surged upwards and into that kiss.

The panic, he knew it all too well and when he pulled back to breathe, and he tapped his ear with glance around. His breath was shallow and he was trying to express a point, which, was not easy with most of his blood taking up residence in his pants. After a short moment, he spoke. "No one is around..." Another tap to his ear. "I am sorry I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, but I have been dying to do that since, Jesus when was the last time I did that? Call it directly after that."

When Quinn pulled away, Levi simply stared. His breathing was shallow and rapid, his heartbeating like thunder in his ears. He didn't look around when he was instructed to. Oh no. HIs gaze was leveled on Quinn and that sensual mouth of his. "Me, too," he nearly growled as he grabbed Quinn by the face and pulled him closer so their mouths could meld once again.

Quinn was nearly completely out of his seat, he pushed the center console up. Optional third seat in the front, yup he was glad now and slid over to Levi. The sound of their hearts pounding filled the cab of the truck as fingers found Levi's tshirt and grabbed a fist full of it. There was nothing else in the world at the moment.

When Quinn slid over, Levi had to adjust and lean so that his shirt could be removed without a struggle. When it was evident that the kiss would have to be broken again, he pulled his head back and stared into Quinn's eyes. "We shouldn't," he mumbled and reached to pull Quinn's shirt up. "But God, I want to."

Quinn had absolutely no intention of pulling Levi's shirt off and when finally there was a break he spoke in such a way where it was very clear that he was not mixing words. "You're not the kind of man that I fuck in some alley in my truck." Backs of fingers brushed against the prickle of stubble on Levi's cheek. "I hope you understand that, you are worth far more than allow our first time to be anything less than amazing." And with that Quinn adjusted himself slightly and went back to his own seat. Throwing the truck into drive he pulled out and towards the market. Apparently with his hazards on because Levi was a pro at pushing buttons on the truck as well.

Levi was panting and trying his best to listen to what Quinn had to say. Only when there was distance once again was he able to think coherently. Running a hand through his unruly ginger locks, he breathed out a harsh breath. "Finally alone, I'm pretty sure that it'll stay that way for a while."

"What do you mean stay that way a while?" It was a strange thing, they were all always together and Quinn was sort of getting used to it. He had spent a lot of time as a loner, and the company was nice, but he was now wondering if Levi had some other plan for them.

"Well, Keirra's in her own home, and nobody really bothers me in my RV. Besides, we're heading out of town tomorrow." He gave Quinn a hopeful look and reached for his hand. "That's if you want to come with me. The trail's set for next week and I've got some prep work that needs to be done."

"Ohhhh, we are going away." A laugh and he nodded before pulling up to the Deli. He apparently didn't need any instruction on getting to O'Dells. "Oh I see, a business trip. Where are we going?" He had to know what to pack. Quinn was not fond of being stuck somewhere without the proper attire.

"Yeah, if the guy was being held in Rhy'din then it would be as simple as greasing a few palms and sliding him out of the back door. It's pretty corrupt here, which makes it so easy for things like that to happen." It didn't occur to Levi that Quinn didn't need directions. He was caught up in trying to explain things that he was a little surprised when they pulled up. "Hey, you know this place?"

"Yeah you could say that." A laugh and he turned off the truck before sliding out and heading inside. He wanted cookies while he was here. "You'll find, that most people have their price." He was looking through the case at the deli and trying to decide on cookies. "But Mark seemed pretty sure you could do this without it." It wasn't said, but there was a strong suggestion.

Only the table cloths and the curtains were new. The Deli still had that same rustic charm and decor as Quinn might remember. The staff had changed over the years, of course, but there was a constant that would never change so long as she had breath in her body. Sadie was ringing up a customer when the bell for the door announced more customers. It was a sound she liked hearing. "Enjoy your meal," she plastered on that smile and watched as the lady with the turkey salad on whole wheat found herself a place to sit. Sadie leaned against the counter and let her gaze travel to the gentlemen who were entering the building. It took a lot to shock her, but damned if her jaw hadn't dropped.

"Yeah, I shouldn't need to. Without the videotape or the statement from the eyewitness, the state has nothing to hold the guy. The burden of proof is on them, and they don't have shit." He smiled and walked in behind Quinn who seemed to be checking out cookies. The pictures on the wall that told the story of the family behind the restaurant was what drew Levi in and he went that away. "Oh, order for Quinn?" he barely glanced at the woman behind the counter as he casually strolled along the wall, looking at the photos.

Oh those pictures. A laugh and he nodded to Sadie. "Surprise!" He said as he leaned over the counter opening arms for her. She looked fantastic. God it had been too long. "Yeah, Order for Quinn..." There was a look around as he watched Levi. A snicker and he pulled his wallet from his back pocket and looked back to Sadie.

"Indeed!" She laughed as they embraced over the counter. She searched behind Quinn and then looked back at him when she didn't find who she was looking for. "Where's Dirk?"

Levi had found the somewhat recent pictures and sure enough, there was Quinn in an apron. He laughed out loud and pointed to the picture. Turning his head, he refrained from asking Quinn about the photo as he seemed to be in discussion with the clerk at the register. "Everything ok over there?"

"Oh...He's..." There was a moment where he tried to be tactful and then, there was Levi. "Sadie this is Levi. He's a friend of mine." There was no implication added to the word friend for obvious reason. "I believe that Dirk is probably at home with..." There was a pause and he thought it had been a rather interesting interaction he was almost certain Dirk had used the young Lycan's name. A shake of his head. "His boyfriend. Have they not come in? Probably holed up at the house. You know Dirk." A laugh and he was pulling a pair of twenties out of his pocket. "Can I have a dozen of the oatmeal cookies too?" Oh yeah this wasn't awkward at all.

Sadie had turned her face upwards, expectantly. If there had been a couple that she thought could make it, it was Dirk and Quinn. She looked over at Levi with a tepid smile. He wasn't Dirk and that was alright. "I'm sorry to hear that, Quinn," she said quietly and with a supportive smile. She turned then and smacked the sill of the window behind her. "Baker's dozen of the oatmeal, and this time the ones fresh from the oven!"

Levi waved, not sure exactly why he was getting that sort of smile, and he turned to continue his perusal of the photos on the wall. The last one was of a little girl, dark haired with big blue eyes being led by a man who seemed to be her father. There was the look of pride about him and the little girl's four little white teeth stood out in her gummy smile. It made Levi sigh and think of what might have been.

"They are very happy. They looked very much in love." He was smiling, which was almost surprising to any involved. The sigh caught Quinn?s attention and he watched over to Levi he was staring at the picture. He didn't say a word, what could he even say in public. Back to Sadie. "If I see Dirk again..." He was really sure that eventually it would happen. Hopefully it would be better this time than the last. "I'll let him know he better haul his ass in here. Can't forget our roots." Another hug for Sadie.

Sadie gave Quinn a hug and his order was up. There were two pastry boxes and a bag with sandwiches, apples and two large cups of raspberry tea. She hugged Quinn and then gave him a smile when she stepped away from him. "You do that. It's been a few years since I've seen the dirtbag and I've not had a decent manager since. Though, the delivery man is very good," she smiled wide and showed off the ring on her finger. The photo of the little girl was her daughter, Rosie.

Levi turned from the photos in time to see the tiny rock on the woman's finger and the food piled up on the counter. "I didn't order all of this."

A hearty laugh and he leaned in to gush over the ring. "It's amazing! You're getting married?! When you register you have to let me know." Eyes went to the packages and he pulled another bill from his wallet and set it down. "Around here the plates get bigger and bigger." He laughed and eyes Levi before he looked at all the boxes and bags. "Sadie it was amazing to see you, but we have to go destroy this breakfast!" Happily he pressed a kiss to her temple and clapped a hand on to Levi's shoulder. The go-to bro gesture.

Sadie picked up the extra bill and reached over to shove it down Quinn's pants. "Your money's no good here. Never has been, never will." She smirked then and folded her arms over under her bosoms. "Don't be such a stranger!" she called to Quinn as they took their leave.

"Well that was interesting," he chuckled and took the boxes and bag from Quinn and then climbed into the truck. "An old friend, I take it?"

"Don't let her hear you say old...She can run...Fast." A laugh as he pulled the money out of his pants. It was a funny situation with Quinn and the Deli. He was family there nearly, because of Dirk. He spoke of it as he put the packaged on the back seat. "My ex husband worked there for I dunno half a million years maybe." It was the first time that he had said ex husband without hesitation. As he climbed into the truck he thought on it. On his mission going through records for Mark, Quinn had learned that he was legally dead and he peered across to Levi. "You wouldn't happen to know how to reverse a declaration of death would you?"

"Oh. Cool." Levi didn't have much more to say than that. He wasn't sure how he felt about anything lately. Between the break up with Billie and the attraction to Quinn and the way the two storms did not pass but completely collided made him feel as if he were in the eye of a storm with his friends and loved ones whirling around him at mach 2. As he put his seatbelt on, he sighed softly and reached for Quinn's hand. More and more he found that he wanted to simply touch to become grounded again. "Depends on the state or country. Most places the person who filed it has to file for the reversal." He looked to Quinn with a half smile. "I didn't hate her, you know. And I really didn't mean to hurt her as badly as I did. I'm an asshat for doing that."

That caused a frown. "His boyfriend damn near turned me into dog chow, I am not sure that I will have much luck asking him to try and file for anything." A sigh and he was lost in thought as he drove and then he heard the guilt. Eyes shifted to him and he shook his head. "I know that hun, trust me, I get it. I have done worse." Eyes back on the road as they pulled up to the RV. "I was there Levi, I know exactly what happened. I am sorry to be an ass, but she was a pain in the balls. I knew her all of five minutes before she was going off about my being gay and how terrible her life was. Its RhyDin, she's damn lucky someone didn't eat her to stop her whining."

"I can contact the clerk of courts and see if I can do anything," he promised and would get on that as soon as they got back. He listened to Quinn defend him and it brought about a sheepish smile. "She's always been sheltered, lived her life in the pages of romance novels. She wasn't prepared for how mean I was." The truck came to a stop and Levi got out. "So what was the deal with all of that food? And we didn't have to pay for it? I mean there's charity and then there's that."

"Thank you so much much, I would like very much to not be dead." A nod and he thought about Billie now. There was almost a bit of insecurity on his chiseled features. "Maybe we all wish things were a bit more like romance novels. Where a prince swoops in and makes us forget how terrible things were before they got there." He slid out of the truck and grabbed the packages looking at them. "That's Sadie. She's a nurturer."

Levi smiled. He didn't want Quinn dead either. And as they walked into the RV he reached to take the boxes from Quinn and set them onto the table. "It's good to have friends in high and low places."

The boxes were opened and Levi's mouth began to water. The heavenly scent of cinnamon rolls and oatmeal raisin cookies melded and surrounded the kitchen with yumminess. "Wow," he laughed. Where did he even start? "Well I couldn't be that knight in shining armor. I don't even know why I stepped into the roll except that it was expected of me. I think Rally and Pops thought it would bring peace to the valley if she and I were together." He shrugged and decided that a cinnamon roll needed to be tasted. "But from the get go, it was a struggle."

"A real life arranged relationship. Yeah I know all about that." Quinn had married the girl he was supposed to and had the children he was supposed to, inherited the business just like he was supposed to and made sure to step into his father's shoes right out of school. "I think you'd make a fantastic knight...Maybe just not to her." He popped open he OJ and despite his instinct, he did NOT drink right from the carafe. Instead he poured out two glasses and sat down grabbing a cookie. "I don't blame you for jumping ship with that one."

Levi sat down at the table and grabbed a napkin to set the roll down onto. "Yeah, but what am I doing, Quinn? Right from that to wrapped up with you. And you?" He looked up with a wry smile. "Are we right, Quinn? You must have had some hope when you came back that you could pick back up with him. And now that you can't, are you rebounding to me? Am I rebounding to you?" He picked at the roll and sighed. "I just don't want either of us to be hurt."

"I was well aware that he had moved on. The sire bond is a very strong one, I will always know how he is feeling, I will always be able to find him and, if he needs my help, I will always help him. But for years I've known he was done mourning." He was not rebounding, at least he was damn near certain he wasn't. "I can't answer if you are rebounding with me, but I can tell you if you want me to step back and see how you handle things on your own I have no issue with doing so."

Well that answered the question on Quinn's behalf, but the jury was still out on what Levi wanted to do. He didn't respond at first. Instead, he chewed thoughtfully on the sugary sweet roll and thought things over. "She was pregnant, once." His gaze was far away and pain etched his eyes into a dull haze. "After she lost the baby, she wanted to jump right back into the sack, as if nothing had happened. But I couldn't do it. I was terrified of hurting her again, of being gut punched again if she lost another. And it wasn't cells. I don't care what she says. That baby was going to be someone, you know?" He looked up at Quinn and there was sorrow in his eyes. "It's like she forgot it even happened and only until I argued with her did she even cry about it. It just seemed so improper."

"The loss of a child is always a difficult thing but that one..Well..." There was no real way to say she was a pill. "If she was more interested in fucking than being a Mom, maybe...Just maybe, the loss was put there for a reason. Can you imagine her raising your child properly?" There was pause and he looked to Levi. "It doesn't make the hurt any less real. I too know what it is like to live in what ifs." He poked at his cookie before adding. "Have you considered speaking to Keirra, she is so set on not raising that baby, maybe, you could help her."

"Keirra's giving the baby to her sister in law," Levi shrugged. He had considered asking Keirra if she would consider letting him and Billie raise her child, but something always held him back. "I don't know, she's good with kids, a teacher. But I couldn't see myself with her and happy for any length of time." And he was back at what he wanted Quinn to do. "I don't want you to step back, is that wrong?"

A light laugh and he shook his head. "If you feel it, it isn't wrong darlin'..." It almost literally hurt Quinn to know that something was etched so deep into the man that made him have to ask if his feelings were relevant. "You do not need my affirmation for the things you feel. If you feel them they are right to be felt. But, don't feel bad I asked Keirra if I was being selfish for wanting so badly to be part of your life. Because...You know...of what's at stake for you."

What was at stake was losing his best friend. He really couldn't give a shit about anyone else in the camp. Molly's and Billie's scorn for his even having a gay friend had that fear deep seeded and he wasn't sure if Mark would be as accepting as Keirra and Gerry. Slowly he looked up from the roll and smiled. "You really asked Keirra that?"

QuinnDeFortes

Date: 2015-12-16 20:45 EST
"Of course I did. Actually I told her to tell me I was selfish, that this wasn't worth it. But she explained, that she wanted you happy, and she had never really seen you happy before." A frown at that as he was clearly destroying a cookie to crumbs onto the table in front of him before he slid to sit across from Levi. "I know what this is like Levi, I understand that I just came in here and steamrolled your life, that if I had stayed away you'd probably be complacent and wouldn't think once about being ostracized by your family. To be completely honest with you, to this moment, I feel like a complete asshole for bringing that into your home. But I am not sorry." It was strange to say but he was trying to be as honest as was possible.

Levi hung his head, ashamed. Keirra had never seen him happy? Had anyone ever? Well, yes. And the last few days had been the happiest he'd ever remembered since he learned that his dick was for more than peeing with. "You are a force to be reckoned with," he admitted with a smile and a shrug of his shoulders. "It was going to happen anyway. I mean, if not now, then when? It's just the timing that has me all... I don't know. Is it too soon after what happened with Billie?"

"Do you feel like it is?" He elaborated quickly before he could be answered prematurely. "And not what you THINK the answer should be, not what I want to hear. Not what the social norm, not what anyone else wants, just what you feel when you close your eyes. If your heart is ready it will tell you."

Now that was an easy question that took no time to respond to. "I was ready before she ran away from me. And she was always running from me. I think that's what hurt her the most, I stopped reacting to her theatrics."

"That's your answer then, you don't have to be so concerned with what you should be feeling. You're drowning out what your heart is trying to tell you. So, you tell me what you want and we will make it happen. No matter what it is." It was simple.

Levi reached across the table and took the biggest leap of faith he could ever remember. Quinn's hand was covered and as he gazed into those quicksilver eyes, he smiled. "I want you to stay."

"Then I'm going to stay." It was just that simple. There wasn't further prodding, there wasn't any sort of hesitation, because Levi's hands already contained the lycans heart and his feet had run off with it. A softening of features as Levi stopped him from his pressed assault on the poor cookie. "I guess that's settled then."

Levi smiled and pulled his hand back to let Quinn attack his cookie. "I guess it is," he chuckled. "Now about those pancakes. I'm starving!" He got up and pulled the bag open. There were two clam shell boxes, each loaded with pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausages and a small bowl of grits. "Jesus, how many people did she think she was feeding?" He put one of the boxes in front of Quinn and laughed.

"Me." He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck before he leaned to peek at the box. Yup, that looked like breakfast and he got up and grabbed the other plate and went to find the plastic silverware before sliding back into his seat at the table. Now, Quinn eating was an interesting thing. He knew damn well how to eat properly, but, he was one of those people who didn't like to stop talking. So while he was chewing some pancake he spoke. "You know...If I am going to stay." Swallow and then sip of OJ before peering back at him. "I think, it is time I take you on a proper date..." Bite of sausage before he allowed himself to look pensive. "Not here though, maybe on our trip? Where are we going? I'll make reservations."

QuinnDeFortes

"Loiuse City," he sighed and sat back to simply absorb the mountain of food he was about to devour. Quinn had the jump on him though and it was kind of funny to watch him eat and talk. It was like that lately, he found himself watching Quinn and being mesmerized more than anything. "I love Kierra but I just want some alone time with you, you know?"

"My my Mister Clarke...Are you trying to seduce me?" A wiggle of brows and he was crossing his arms over that broad chest. "Well I just don't know if I can just surrender my modesty that way. We DeFortes Ladies have a reputation to think about you know?" A fit of laughter as he was chomping a bite of biscuit and watching Levi.

Levi laughed with him and it felt good to get the tension out of the room. Laughing with Quinn came so naturally that he often forgot himself in the act. "Eat your pancakes," he snickered and reached with his fork to nab one of Quinn's. "And I'll eat your sausage."

And that laugh, that compete abandon of self, that is what made everything worth it. That's what made the emotional rollercoaster, the uncertainties, the fear every bit of it was worth it and he was lost in it for a moment. "If you're lucky you just might be right." He started dipping his biscuit in his eggs and he watched him. "Where the hell is Loiuse city?"

"You mean if you're lucky," he laughed before taking a chomp from the sausage. "It's about an hour to the portal and then about four hours from there. I figure we'll leave out in the morn... oh crap!" He put down his fork and got up from the table. "Forgot about the elk. Let's get that thing to the butcher so there's food on the table for the folks in camp." He stopped at the door and turned to look back at Quinn. "Please."

"Fuck..." He was jamming more food into his mouth in earnest before he got up and headed for the door. A few more bites on the way. And then he grabbed a cinnamon roll on the way out the door. "Luckily it was cold enough to keep it fresh and just warm enough not to freeze. I could hunt for the camp regularly if we complete this mission for Mark..." There was a pause. "If I don't complete it, I won't be allowed to stay. No pressure." Chuckles and gets the truck going and waits for Levi to hop in.

Quinn was a bottomless pit. Levi was now convinced of that. He stepped out of the way when the Quinn Roller 2000 moved past and out to the truck. "I was thinking that, too. Good thing it wasn't..." Levi stopped in his tracks and gave Quinn a somber look. Nobody had told him that Quinn and Mark had struck that kind of deal. No pressure, no pressure at all. Except that if the mission failed and the boy went to jail for good, Levi had a decision to make. "Fuck," he grumbled and climbed into the seat. "They're just over there," he pointed to a spot with tables, tubs and racks set up. It was far enough from the fire to keep things warm but not too warm.

QuinnDeFortes

Date: 2015-12-17 01:16 EST
If the boy went to Jail, and the whole thing went to pot, Quinn would move out, and they would sneak around until Mark finally realized that he was truly trying to make Levi happy. A frown at having upset Levi and he shook his head. "Listen. We've got this. You said it yourself. There's nothing. And worst case, I will just pay the ransom for the tape, But I think there may be a bit more acceptance from Mark, if I do it without throwing my money around."

Levi was still frowning when they got to the butcher's stand. It had only taken a minute, the truck didn't even have time to get warm. "I know, but I hate that you're my dirty little secret. I hate hiding. I hate sneaking around and I hate second guessing my best friend. I don't have to be in this camp, we could go to Loiuse City and they'd never be the wiser. But I want him to know. I want him to know how happy I've been these last few days."

"I am not ready to just let you leave your family and start over somewhere. I know you think that he is going to lose it, and you are probably right, But I don't see him as the type to just write you off because you're different than the rest. I don't know if you noticed, you're already really different." He was speaking softly and then got out of the truck. He didn't care that he was Levi's secret, so he didn't make mention of that bit. Instead he rounded the truck and pulled away the tarp and grabbing the beast by the antlers he lifted him out of the truck bed and dragged it to the table. He was unsure if they needed him to clean it so they could cut it, he looked questioningly between the dead animal and Levi.

Levi sighed and shook his head. "I know that I'm different from all of them. But it's only because of their support that I am." He got out of the truck and while Quinn was handling the elk, Levi was rousing the butcher to get him to the table. The man was short and rotund, but the sight of the carcass being dragged his way had him grinning from ear to ear. Knife and sharpener were grabbed and rasped together.

"Just leave it, he'll take care of it," Levi waved it off and climbed back into the truck. He looked at the campsite and he definitely stood out as different. His RV was newer and cleaner than the others. He wore new clothes where Mark and most of the others lived off of second hand stores and consignment shops. Did he really belong here?

A nod to the man and he spoke. "I'll bring you others if you want, it's sort of my thing. Hunting. I'll try to bring you one killed a bit cleaner next time." A nod and he climbed back into the truck and reached over and grabbed a rag from the console to wipe the blood from himself.

"I know that Levi, what I am trying to explain though, is that they can accept that you are vastly different in that way because it makes you happy, why is this different?"

QuinnDeFortes

Levi looked over at Quinn when he got into the truck. There was blood smeared on his hands and face. Levi wanted to take the towel and a bit of spit to clean him up. But, he didn't. Instead he kept his hands in his lap and tore his gaze away. "Because they don't see it as natural or normal. They make jokes and beat up guys like me."

"Yeah well I would like to see them put a hand on you. As for the jokes, you guys make jokes about everyone. Plus. I have no issue knocking someone in the face for making fun of you, as I may or may not have proven with that disgusting bitch the other night." A rumble of a growl and he drove back to the RV and thought to open Levi's door. Instead he smiled to him and slid out of the truck. "There is very little natural about me, but who I fall in love with, feel damn normal to me."

Levi was feeling pressured to come out to Mark and the rest of the camp and that was something that he wasn't prepared to do just yet. Quinn was being sweet, stepping up to defend him and it was an odd feeling. Levi was the one that was the public defender, after all. It was his job and title. He opened up his door and Quinn's last statement stopped him cold. That escalated rather quickly.

He didn't respond, didn't know how to respond. There was attraction, a very strong attraction and Levi couldn't imagine another day without Quinn in it. But to label it scared him shitless. He opened up the RV door and held it for Quinn.

Quinn had no idea that Levi was feeling pressured, Quinn thought that after Levi saying he hated it that he wanted reassurance, so Quinn made no attempt to correct himself. He walked into the RV and got excited to see the food still on the table. He sat right down and went right back to eating. Looking up he seemed instantly concerned. "Hey...Are you alright?" He tried to search Levi's face for some indication of what was wrong.

Levi sat at the table, but only picked at his food and pushed it around on his plate with a fork. "Yeah, I'm ok." His voice was quiet and his gaze was diverted. He was hopeful for the prospect of what he and Quinn could be, but felt awkward with the L word already thrown into the mix. But how do you tell someone that you "think" that you might love them, someday. He began to question himself. Was it already there? "I'll talk to Mark."

Oh man, Quinn was NOT talking about Levi when that word got tossed into the mix He was using it as a way to speak about his sexual orientation and not to describe their...relationship? Was it that? He didn't even know. Then Levi was talking about Mark and Quinn held his hand up and stopped chewing. "Whoa...whoa listen Levi please don't rush on my account this isn't a thing that should be rushed...You take as much as you need. I will be here for as long as you need me to be."

"No, you're right. If they accept me as being different because of the class difference, then they'll have to accept the other differences, too. And, if not?" He shrugged. "I live in Loiuse City and defend their asses to keep them from going to jail." He pushed the plate away and rubbed his stomach. "Did you mean what you said, out there?"
