The afternoon air was salty and pleasant by the docks, and the rogue had arrived two hours early. Her hair was in curls, her face had been painted with make-up?though with that, the hellion had help. Gwen had been more than delighted to use the porcelain canvas that was Keirra?s face. She had a bottle of sparkling cider tucked away in a picnic basket she held in front of her pregnant belly. It was settled down on the ground, and she gripped the railing, peering over the horizon and waiting. The wind blew at the little black and white dress and she held it down and stood there, glancing all around the sea before taking in a breath. ?Relax, KoKo, you?re early?? she coaxed herself. Sleep the night before proved to be impossible, but it didn?t show on her painted up little face.
Gerry was coming home today, that was all that mattered. She made it the full nine days without flipping out. Quinn and Levi proved to be a good distraction, though. Without them, she wouldn?t have made it. Life was absolutely perfect, she had life in her belly kicking and moving around, almost ready to greet the world with closed up fists and a bad attitude. Her husband was on his way back, and she had two of the best friends anyone could ever ask for.
For the first time in a long time, she didn?t feel alone. Anger had become fourth in her nature, instead of first. Starscream?s tail thumped against the wood and she continued to pace along the pier. Eyes shifted to the puppy, and then back to the sea. Hands dug out her phone to check the time, and she bounced on her toes. ?Almost time, Starscream!? she exclaimed, and the pup barked up a storm, breaking out into a happy little sprint.
