Rose had heard of the Chainned Inn by word of mouth. She had found herself incredibly bored one night and decided she would pay it a visit. As was usual for her she was wearing an odd combination of clothes. A sheer black nightgown with thin straps and an open back, the only part that wasn?t fairly see-through was the silk green flower which covered either breast and underneath it fairly visible was a lacey white thong with a tiny silver lock dangling from the front. To top off the outfit she wore tall black vinyl boots of all things. OF course, being who she was she saw nothing inappropriate about this. In fact she thought it would be the perfect outfit for such an evening.

So looking positively scandalous and without a care in the world she came. Of course she had an idea of the reputation of the owner, but she felt no need to fear for herself. After all, if she did run into the man she had some information he might find interesting. Unlike most the people of Rhy'din she had no opinion on the subject of the slave trade. It was what it was; she would not judge a man by his occupation alone. We all needed to make a living and if he should find a means to anger her then he would know it to be a mistake.

She smiled to herself in a fashion that didn?t seem to suit her soul which at first glance would appear nothing but honorable and good. Her thoughts were guarded, her hopes high this would be an entertaining night.

The dark form essence of the air would swirl around the intruder into his domain. It announced his presance as much as it announced to him that there was someone in his domain. A small dark smirk formed on his lip as he chuckled slight. He stepped out of the kitchen, moving to the bar. His arms folded behind him. "Good evening," he announced with a chill in his voice. "Welcome to The Chainned Inn. How may I be of help this eve?"

All the hair on her body stood on end as he approached. She didn?t need to see him to know exactly where he was coming from. This one had a strong presence that you could sense across the room. Her muscles tensed slightly but otherwise she still appeared at complete ease as she turned her head to the side to look up at the man. From what she had gleaned from the woman?s mind who had mentioned him earlier, she knew this must be the owner. She smiled ever so sweetly at him as her eyes looked more into him than at him, in a piercing and almost unnerving manner as she tried to see through those dark eyes into the person behind them. She could tell his mind was a well guarded place. Not any cracks to slip in through but she extended a tendril of thought towards him trying to gain whatever insights she could.

?Evening, no need to fuss over me; I?m just in town seeing the sights. This is a lovely establishment here. Sure is a shame how many people want to shut places like this down. Why just the other night there was a most obnoxious woman at this meeting I went to; was saying how we needed to clean out the slavers in Rhy?Din. I tried to point out that she was being a tiny bit prejudiced against an occupation, and that not all slavers were a menace or whatever it was she was going on about. Next thing I know she has the nerve to insinuate negative things about my character. Imagine.? She shook her head a little, ?Exactly what I was talking about. People jumping to conclusions and attacking those they don?t even know. Real annoying if you ask me.?

?Then to top it off, later in the night I was getting drinks for this fine young thing that was apparently hired just to dismantle the slave trade. Quite a way to make a living huh? Messin? into other peoples business without provocation. Though I must admit it seemed more of a personal thing than a matter of money. People can be so blind when they are believe they are right. Why, she even mentioned this place here.? She shrugged casually and looked away for a fraction of a second before turning herself to face him once more. ?Oh how rude of me, going on like this when I didn?t even get your name. How?s about you buy me a drink and we can get better acquainted??

He inhaled slightly, arms remaining folded behind him. The light thought that approached his mind was met with a cold wave that would warn off most. The auburn eyes studied the female closely as she spoke of his prefered hobby and trade. He allowed her to ramble on about the beauty of his business, how others were going to "interfear". She was either trying to find out more than she was already leading to...

...Or she was hired to stop him.

Her motions were watched, his combat senses coming to life. She looked back at him, meeting the dark auburn gaze. "I'm sure you've heard of me by now, if you've come to the inn. However, my name is Travanix." He offered her a seat as he turned from the bar to the back wall to begin working a bottle and glass then returning. "By all means, let's get to know one another, shall we?" The words followed by an small grin as his mind pondered the possibilities.

A pleasant smile appeared on her lips. ?So you are indeed the man himself. A pleasure to meet you, Travanix. I?m staying with some friends in town? They were quite shocked when they heard where I was going tonight. I think people judge too harshly on reputations.?

?This woman also mentioned something about a bounty on you. She was very beautiful but arrogant and incredibly rude. She seems like a serious woman, not like some of the other people that were talking their talk. Later on she was joined by a female companion who looked to be terrified at the mention of your name. So maybe she had something personal against you. They seemed awful close, her and this elegant feline woman.?

?Back in the day we had slave matches and that was how people often became slaves. Times were quite different then. I just thought you should know about the moral crusade against your trade. The muttering seems almost serious.?

He couldn't help but smirk upon the mention of his reputation and the response of the various citzens regarding his position and attitude. Let alone the trade he was involved in. "I assure you," he said as he offered the glass and bottle of wine to her over the bar. "My reputation and all that which proceeds it are very much true and very well earned."

He turned his back to her, his arms folding behind him once again as he stuck his head in the kitchen as she spoke about the slave matches. He came back out after a moment, not missing a beat of the conversation. "Slave matches. Outdated concepts, much like those who still believe themselves to be 'slavers'. They are simply pimps these days. Believe me though, should the 'talk' and 'mutters' were ever that serious, they have even less meaning than if they were to actually attempt something. Considering what I've done in the past, you would think most would have nothing to do with me, let alone - mutter against me."

?Well I don?t think you have any reason to worry then.? She took a sip of the wine but kept her eyes locked on him. ?After meeting you and looking into your eyes I must admit, that girl was even more a fool then I thought. It seems some people make a habit of biting off more then they can chew. You seem like a reasonable enough man but I sure wouldn?t like to be on your bad side. Perhaps I should move along now before I end up getting myself into trouble some how. I should know better than to play with fire at my age.?

She winked at him then finished her glass of wine. ?Hope I?ll be welcome to come back some time. I find I like the atmosphere you?ve got going here.?

"We all have our limits, my dear. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself though. You would be welcome back, should you feel the desire to return." He commented lightly. "I do hope that you'll pass along to those that have found the time to plot against me that they should be sure to actually cause some sort of damage this time - rather than simply annoy me." The dark auburn eyes began to glow a vile blood red. "Being on my bad side is something...most don't live to see their way out of."

?I would imagine not.? The tone of her voice and her almost malicious grin seemed to indicate she was pleased about this fact. ?You don?t seem the type to suffer fools."

"I?d rather not pass along anything though. I would prefer to keep this little conversation between us. Aside from that, I have no desire to speak to such types if I can avoid it. Really though, I don?t think the girl is of a mind to take advice from anyone once she?s set on something. Not sure what, if anything, she is actually planning.? She shrugged and added, ?But should the topic come up again, I will be sure to tell people to quit their bitching - it does annoy me as well.?

?Thank you kindly for your company, and for the wine.? On that note she poured herself another glass and raised it to the air. ?To you, and to the continuing prosperity of your good business here.?

She brought the glass to her lips after the toast, swallowing until it was gone. Her eyes sparkled mischievously and she gave him a friendly smile. ?It has been a pleasure conversing with you Travanix.? She extended a delicate hand to him. ?Perhaps we will cross paths again one day.?

Regardless of the dark rage that coursed through is veins in place of blood, his arm moved from his back, extending out to take the girl by the hand. His chilled fingers wrapped gently around hers. The course of chill crawled up her arm as he took her hand, placing a gentleman's kiss upon her hand, looking back to her as his eyes returned to their normal look. "A pleasure indeed, my dear. I look forward to future crossings." A gentleman's smile offered to her as he released her hand.
