She had indeed gotten faster over time; her speed, her agility. She had learned her lessons well. Then again, pain was an excellent teacher. Hand to hand combat was a different beast.

And he sought to tame the beast.

He no longer pulled his punches, he no longer softened the blows against her. He was ruthless in his teaching of combat to her. When she failed to keep a guard up, or didn?t keep an aggressive stance, she paid the price.
Her body was covered in welts from the previous day?s lessons. He was slamming her with the impact of an iron beam against her.

?What?s the first line of the code, apprentice.? He demanded, just before he hammered her once more. She was recovering quickly enough, but her response to each round house or each punch was slowing down ? He was, in effect, beating the lesson into her.

She pulled herself up, pulling her arms into a aggressive stance attempting to land something against him. ?There is no emotion; there is peace.?

Her stance didn?t last long as one leg came out of nowhere slamming into her side. ?Peace is a lie, there is only passion!? He shot back, as the blow knocked the wind from her.

She spun around trying to inhale sharply to get the air back in her lungs. ?Next line, apprentice.? He grabbed her from behind, locking one of her arms behind her.

She mumbled out the next line through clenched teeth: ?There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.? He was constricting her breathing, but not for long as he used her arm as a tether, throwing her into a spin before he tripped her.

?Through passion, I gain strength!? And then slammed his heel into her chest. She hollered loudly, rolling to her side, trying to fight through the pain to get up.

She caught on, however, and quietly offered the third line of the code she once held to so carefully. ?There is no passion, there is serenity.? She got to her knees before he moved in like a tornado, grasping her by the hair and pulling her up.

Through his own clenched teeth, he instructed her. ?Through power, I gain victory!? He slammed her with several rabbit punches to her side and stomach before dropping her.

To her credit, she exhaled quickly, pushing herself to her feet. She landed two quick blows ? one to his chest, then one to his jaw. ?There is no death, there is the Force.? She moved back one foot, ready to strike again.

He was ready for her, too. He landed several blows to her face. ?Through victory, my chains are broken!? And then landed an upper cut that sent her up and sprawling back, landing flat on her back. His arms folded behind him as he approached her. The dawn sun was shining behind him, giving a dark luminous his shadow ? and the auburn eyes that began to glow a blood red. ?The Force shall set me free.?
