Lenore could not remember back far enough to the days when she actually attended school as a child, but she?s heard and read enough about the excitement and jitters that come along with the first day of a brand new school year to assume it was a lot like this. The anticipation for something new, the worry about not being able to keep up, the absolute uncertainty mixed with glee. She was barely able to sleep the night before no matter how much she tried, countless questions flashing through her mind at a mile a minute of what she was getting herself into and if she was in over her head. The noise in her head didn?t stop early the next morning either as she dressed in black jeans, a long sleeve black shirt, and black laced boots with her dark hair pouring freely down her back as usual.

She arrived to the Towers early. The girl who let her in was no one she recognized but the uniform she wore was more than familiar. The girl was quick and quiet as she left Lenore to wait by herself in the large marble foyer. The silence pressing in around her didn?t help much at all, the butterflies in her stomach beating their wings at a manic pace. Nerves were getting the better of her and she knew she needed to put an end to it. It was going to be an embarrassing introduction to her new position in the House of Travanix if she put herself on edge to the point where she involuntarily shifted. It?s not how she wanted to remember today. So she took a deep breath. A slow inhale through her nose, a steady exhale through thick pursed lips. She repeated the process and tried to shush all of the voices in her head, instead replacing them with a calming mantra. Remember to breathe.
