Days seemed to turn to weeks as the dragon remained tethered outside the Chained Inn. Ice blue gaze flicked between the door, and the trough near where she remained.

She was careful with the water, there wasn't much left within, and she lapped up only enough for a mouthful each time.

She'd not seen her owner since, just that once, when he came out to study her, then he had returned to his business.

He was probably a busy man.

Ice blue gaze flicked to the forest beyond the Inn, just for a moment or two. The collar still clasped, and locked around her serpentine neck keeping her calm.

She'd even stopped tugging against the hitching post. All it had done was tighten the reigns, and drive the bit a little further into her jaws.

Wings rustled again, before she finally managed to make it to her knees.

She was growing weary of sleeping while standing. Serpentine neck stretched out, her head resting upon the post.

Half lidded gaze returned to the door as she continued her wait.

Waking with a snort, blue eyed gaze returned to the Inn, nothing had changed, save the level of water within her trough.

Muscles tensed, then eased as the saddle rubbed against the blanket between it and her scales, the bit still biting into her jaws. If she was uncomfortable, the dragon didn't show it.

Gaze turned back to her trough, snout dipping into what remained. Jaws parting to let just a little water flow beneath the bit and down her throat.

Each day was spent the same, waiting, watching for her master to return. Each day the result was the same. Not a sign, or trace of the man.

One of the forgotten. Horned head lifted from the trough, gaze drifting back to the forest beyond. She had forgotten.

Forgotten what it was like to be free, forgotten the feel of the frigid lake upon her scales.

Now it was just dust, and grass, and what little water remained, not sweet at all, and growing warm.

The bugs.., she had rolled in the dust as best as she could. Still the gnats found their way beneath her scales.

A snort, itching her neck against the post, it would give only little relief from the itching, biting bugs.

Another tug, if she could just reach a little further.. A small mud puddle stood just out of reach.

She had returned to the Inn just as she had been bidden. Ice blue gaze returning to her trough. this time she could move untethered, though she would not leave the area.

The dragon never once moved closer to the door, remaining out in the night air, nostrils twitched and flared a moment. She had watched as others had come and gone.

Though even untethered, she remained near the hitching post, it was only natural. Snout dipped back into the water that remained, draining a little more as she awaited her next orders.

Wings folded against her sides. It had felt good to have finally flown again, even if it was with a rider.

It had been days since she had flown. Ice blue eyes remained closed as she dozed near the hitching post.

Occassionally an insect buzzed around her head, getting her to flick the fanlike crest to shoo it away.Nostrils twitched and quivered as she still chewed the bit.

Snorting awake a moment, blue eyed gaze returned from the ground to the door of the Inn, patiently waiting.
