(Continued from Corruption - Dimming of the Light)
The chaos rolled all around her as she followed the the calling with her mind. She was almost wooden in her movements. Her heart had been ripped apart by his leaving her. Everything she knew, that she loved was gone in a heartbeat.
The Miralukan strode towards the inn where the calling seemed to be the strongest. That voice within her insidious and seductive. She would be welcomed here, she would have a place.
In the chaos, several watchmen tried to halt her progress. It was not safe with the invasion taking place. She needed to get to shelter.
They were soon found dead. Any wound cauterized and bloodless. Each death made that voice stronger, promising much to the woman in terms of power. She did not want power, what she wanted had walked away from her. She would not ask for anything. Those sightless eyes seemed to burn with a madness, rage... Grief.
Grief was the single part of her old self that remained... Yet even that was quickly being buried under the euphoria with each death. Her destination was clear.
The ribbon had done it's job...
