Atop the 'Unkindness', the new home of the Ravenlock Family that overlooked the Marketplace. We find Brian, leaned upon the south western ledge, looking over the Marketplace square, enjoying the early morning.

Brian turned, offering a warm smile to his eldest daughter, ?Of course, 'Lena. How could I not for you, hmm??
?Thanks, Dah.? A smile took form on the young woman's face, as she settled up next to her father with a lean to that ledge. ?You really like this place, don't you.?
Brian turned about, as he and Elena both faced the Marketplace square. ?The Marketplace, the city? Yes, dear... I love them both. Very much I do, so much so that I can never find myself too far away from any of it, as silly as that sounds.?

What he was to your mother, honestly I don't know--- I mean that, dear. What you read in the archives was written by me, and contains everything I had on him, when he was active. What I do know is he was something bad for your mother and caused her pain, along with others.?
?And you wanted to kill him for that?? Elena asked softly, the issue of killing someone was obviously something she wasn't too comfortable with.
?There were other reasons, dear. Back then... Things were rather--- volatile. It was a different time, and place, Y'know? I'll tell you this, he had done terrible things and was planning more. Your mother and several others were mixed up in everything, and got hurt as a result and yes-- I had planned to end him, permanently.?

?Honestly, Elena... I have no idea what became of Varick. That's not a name that's come across my mind in quite a bit of time. For a lot of us, that was a lifetime ago. For others, maybe longer.?

Elena nodded, ?There were some folders, in the records room. They had that stamped on the front of them, along with the names 'Raven' and 'Jacyn'. I know they are the same person, and I know what happened a few years back. But these files were dated older, and there were some others on aunt Jade and Dakota, along with aunt Jewell and Lain.?
Brian offered a soft nod to Elena as he turned to look upon the marketplace square once more, ?Family Matters was a name we had given to a string of incidents that occurred almost five years before Jacyn's return as Raven. We tied some of them together, but a friend of ours, Alain---?
?The guy that was a detective??
?Among other things, that's him... He came across documents, during the course of Raven's campaign against the city and shared them. That's when we were able to tie it all together, and while some incidents back during family matters were minor, there were others that were anything but.?
