Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry" Creep by Radiohead

It all started with a chance meeting and playful flirting. What she thought was going to be another one night stand turned into something more. He pulled her in and he was an addiction she couldn't get enough of. Darcy didn't even hesitate or bat an eye to offering him a place in her home and bed when he stated displeasure about his current quarters. The woman had many different sides to her. Many itches to scratch and urges to give in to. For some reason he just did it for her and pushed all of her buttons in the right ways.

Darcy may be on the look out for powerful immortal that wouldn't leave her broken hearted in the end; but he gave her pause. She didn't know what it was, nor did she question it, but he was the first mortal who she had felt some kind of way about in a long time. They clicked and they clicked well. After a few days she knew it just wasn't about the heights of pleasure they could bring each other to but the fact she legitimately did all she could to see him smile.

She wholeheartedly enjoyed his company. Whether is taking him to his first non-silent cinema, eating an early or late breakfast at her favorite diner, baking brownies for him, or him cooking his spaghetti for her in the kitchen such sweet normalcy was something she found she had missed. It could even be something as simple as bathing together and she would find herself having the time of her life.

All in all it was good for her. She was having a great time that she didn't crave nor rely on other substances to do so. Just his company alone was enough for her. For once she didn't know nor stress over what was happening or what wasn't happening between the two of them. She would let her hair down to go with the flow and enjoy the ride as she didn't want it to stop at all.

The first time that they met Freddy had warned Harry that Darcy was dangerous. This advice that he wholeheartedly ignored. They had flirted for a bit and before he knew it he was off for what he presumed would be a one night stand. That was fine by him, he didn?t really feel like he would be up for an actual relationship.

That first time they were together something clicked. He found himself enjoying her company in ways that were more than just physical. Yes, it was easy to get lost in her embrace staring into the forest green depths of her eyes, but she was also just fun to be around, to talk to, to watch TV with.

When Darcy had invited him to stay with her he surprised himself by agreeing. What had started out as a one day thing turned into days and those days turned into weeks. He found himself thinking about her often. He put aside his work to spend more time with her. He often caught himself planning what they would do or where they would go next.

Darcy went out of her way to share new experiences with him. She?d gone with him to his first ?talkie.? She has introduced him to Sushi, as well as her own version of ?special? brownie that he found to be a real trip.

Darcy?s beauty, her zest for life, these things drew him in like a moth to a flame. He found that when he was with her there was no place he would rather be. He decided that if he was going to have a new life in Rhy?din he wanted it to be with her.

"Show me love, show me love
Till it's inside my pores
Show me love, show me love, show me love
Show me love, show me love
Till I'm screaming for more" Show Me Love by t.A.T.u.

Darcy had fallen for him head over heels. She fell hard and she fell fast. The Awesomeness couldn't exactly pin point when it happened. But it didn't really matter. What mattered was how they made each other feel. She was over the moon that he felt the same way about her. Darcy couldn't get enough of him and it seemed he couldn't get enough of her.

The more time they spent together whether it was doing some adventerous or mundane the closer she felt. She was happy that he didn't seem to want anything from her because of what she was but that he wanted her for who she was. That alone made all the difference in the world for her.

But when falling so fast after getting over the initial rush a bit of doubt did creep into her mind. There were many sides to the enigma that was Darcy Devin Huntington Shimmerscale. A lot of it good and some of it downright nightmarish. Even from his assurances that his feelings wouldn't be swayed once he experienced all that was her she couldn't help but worry.

When you'd lived as long as she had one couldn't help but be wary and cautious on who they gave their heart to. The fact that Harry had captured it so easily and effortlessly made her happy but scared her to death at the same time. It was a double edged blade that she was walking in. She knew she would do everything within her power to not screw up something so precious to her. But for now she was going to happily get lost and explore the warm and fuzzy feelings of love she had fallen into.

Harold?s feelings for Darcy surprised him. It scared him how easily he was able to fall for another person. Especially after what had happened before.

Harold Montgomery Angel was no saint. Kicked to the streets at the young age of fifteen he had no choice to but join up with a gang. Small petty crimes led to larger ones, and when prohibition happened business had flourished. It was during this time he found he was good with numbers. He found himself doing creative bookkeeping, and other rackets.

Once the gang found out about the powers he had in his blood, he ended up being taken off the streets entirely. His blood used to control people of various importance. His own power led him to being nothing more than a prisoner.

If not for a chance encounter with Nick Cross during a police raid he might have never got out at all. He didn?t know why Nick had let him go that day, but he appreciated it. As far as he was concerned he owed the man his life.

So it was no surprise a few years later when Nick and Harry decided to open up shop together. It was also no surprise that the mob kept tabs on him and called in the occasional favor. Harold has various lovers during this time, both men and women. None were closer than Sidney. Their relationship had gone on for a few years, and in Harold?s eyes they were getting closer by the day.

In the end however, Sidney had been the mob?s man. Sent to bring Harold back, or kill him. This didn?t sit well with Harry and the argument had ended up with a bullet between Sidney?s eyes. Harold had spent the evening burying the body in the dump. It was near dawn when Harry returned to the office to mourn and drink himself into a stupor.

Rhy?din had been a good thing for Harry. He didn?t hesitate to stay. No more mob meant he could finally relax, and of course he had found Darcy.

After what happened with Sidney, this new love for Darcy scared him. He did his best to conceal it, he knew that he shouldn?t live in fear. He didn?t want these feelings to ever go sour. He honestly hadn?t thought he would ever feel this way about someone ever again. So he held on to her.

All love involved risk. Harold had decided Darcy was worth it.

"If I told you where I've been
Would you still call me baby?
And if I told you everything
Would you call me crazy?" Dark Star by Jaymes Young

Darcy decided it was time. She decided it the moment they declared their feelings for each other. But timing was everything and it had to be right. It had to be done sooner than later. So one morning she would take his hand and lead him to see another side of her. The side she saw as the one part that was truly monsterous. Would he run? Would he stay? Would he look at her differently afterwards once he saw it? These questions and many more plagued her mind as they made the journey to the more run down and shady part of Rhy'Din.

It wasn't something she was looking forward to doing. But as she had told Harry she was an all or nothing kind of a girl. Once dedicated and committed to someone she would lay her hand on the table. Show all of her cards. Bare it all and say, 'this is who I am do you still want to be with me?' She'd been burned so many times in the past before she had to be sure. Lingering self-doubt was not good for either of them.

Down that dark alley they traveled until Darcy found what she had been looking for. She'd warn Harry to stay back in order for him to not get hit with any bits that may end up flying. Shedding her humanity as easily as shrugging off a coat she kneeled down in front of the one who needed to be sacrificed. Usually she was more violent but with Harry watching it was cold, calculated, and clean.

Harry didn't look at Darcy in horror or disgust. It caused her to release a breath she didn't know she had been holding. It took some energy out of her and he didn't recoil from her when she needed to lean against him. It further let those doubts slip away. They discussed it and with his reassuring words, smiles, touch, and kisses she knew he wasn't going to run out on her.

Later on they had a nice romantic picnic with fried chicken, by Harry's insistence, in which he gifted her an oval locket which had a white gold angel on it and inside a picture of them. She was over the moon for such a simple gesture and knew she was going to have to do something for him in return. In that moment all the doubts slipped away and she finally allowed herself to feel the true happiness she had been holding back for so long. It was okay to let go and just feel to not be afraid of what the outcome would be.
