A Secret Crush And Business
Haru makes his way into the Teas'n Tomes. He was dressed in his normal stuff. Just a pair of black skinny jeans and a Blind Fool Love shirt. He makes his way over to a table and sits. He was, of course, waiting on Karen to get here, but he didn't mind the wait.
Karen entered Teas n Tomes with a quiet step. She was dressed for one of her music recording business meetings that she had been in and out of all day. She wore an above the knee black leather skirt, a bright pink tank top under a black business blazer, silver pumps, and a few silver accessories including necklace, bracelet and a few rings. She saw Haru and smiled. She walked over and sat beside him. She spoke softly, ?Hello, Haru.?
A smile lights up his face as he see's her." Glad you could make it Karen. Should I go get us some tea?" It was the first thing he thought of when she entered. They needed a beverage. Odd thing to think, but it kept him from thinking about how beautiful she looked.
She lightly placed her briefcase on the floor, propped up against her chair. She then sat up straight, delicately arching her back. She turned slightly and faced Haru. "That would be wonderful."
He stands and makes his way to the counter where he orders two tea's. Waiting as they are brought before he moves back over and sits hers down in front of her and reclaims his seat."Busy day?"
While he was on his way back, she decided to take off her blazer, maybe in the hopes of catching his eye. She looked up slightly, elongating her neck. She leaned forward and reached backwards with her arms, jutting out her chest as she removed the blazer from her shoulders, then slowly removed it from her exposed arms and draped it over the back of her chair. She smiled as he sat and said, ?Just a few meetings today. Nothing much, just getting a few stations in order. How
was your day??
It does catch his eye, at least briefly. He didn't really like pink. He couldn't get back at her eithe though, he didn't have his hoodie on to take it off. "It was fairly boring. Just walking around and stuff. Listening to music. You know, the usual." A twitch of his wolf ears.
She smiled at his twitch, then went into business mode, where she could retreat from anything she wanted to say instead. "I wasn't sure how many radio DJs to have. How many stations do you think we should focus on?"
He smiles back."That depends on what types of music you want to put on these stations. I mean we shouldn't try too many at the start, maybe add a couple later."
She laughed, "You know me, always trying to plan expansion. What stations would you advise first? Pop would be important."
"Of course I know you."He shudders at the idea of pop."I suppose it would be."He didn't like pop, but it was a radio station.
She smiled at his shudder. "Of course we'll have a station with your taste, but I need to make money and pop will make us money."
"I know."Though he knew there were plenty of people who listened to his style."We should definitely put in some rock."
"It sounds great." She was making mental notes in her head. "What other stations would you advise?"
"Well of course. How many stations do you wish to have?"An appreciative look over her, though subtle.
She was glad that she wasn't boring him with business talk. She could see he was interested. She figured he must really only be interested in the conversation, but that wasn't going to stop her from trying. She crossed her legs gracefully, then was annoyed with herself for doing so, since he probably couldn't see them from under the table anyway. "Well, I'd imagine we could have at least six stations, but would that be too much at first? You know how I try to bite off more than I can chew."
"How about we just start with four."A yawn and he stretches out his shirt slightly lifting. It happened when you could wear smalls.
"That is good..." she said as she watched his shirt lift lightly. She quickly turned her eyes back to his. "Yes, four would be good. Pop, rock. What else? I doubt I could convince you to incorporate country." She smiled, hoping to make him squirm by her statement.
That did a good job at making him squirm. He didn't know which he disliked more. Pop or Country. "How about getting some heavier stuff in?I mean stuff I played with my band."
"Sure. How would you describe it? How can I market it?" She was a fish out of water when it came to music, that was his world. But she was trying to be more a part of it, the music part, she told herself.
"I'd say punk or metalcore. And there are people who listen to it. Quite a few, just not as many as pop and rock." Shrugging. "But you can get plenty of people listening."
"Oh, yes. I can market anything. Don't worry about that. People will listen. That's three. Should we try to pick one more?"
"If you wish. I think you should choose though." A smile as he watches her. It was great being around her, but he would never let her know just how much she meant to him.
She bit her lower lip and looked down, deep in thought. She didn't want to pick wrong and look bad in his eyes. "What if we make one staion a variety station? It can incorporate different music every shift. Maybe an hour of talk here or there, a couple hours of classical, a couple hours of indie. Something like that. Just until we see what works."
"That would be great." He smiles letting her know that he was fine with it and thought that it was a good idea."I may be the music one, but you're the business one."
She looks at him and laughs, "But you seem to do yours so much better." She took a soft sigh of relief.
"That's because I believe it takes much more passion to do music. Business is just business.Music speaks to the soul directly."
