A Secret Crush And Business

Haru makes his way into the Teas'n Tomes. He was dressed in his normal stuff. Just a pair of black skinny jeans and a Blind Fool Love shirt. He makes his way over to a table and sits. He was, of course, waiting on Karen to get here, but he didn't mind the wait.

Karen entered Teas n Tomes with a quiet step. She was dressed for one of her music recording business meetings that she had been in and out of all day. She wore an above the knee black leather skirt, a bright pink tank top under a black business blazer, silver pumps, and a few silver accessories including necklace, bracelet and a few rings. She saw Haru and smiled. She walked over and sat beside him. She spoke softly, ?Hello, Haru.?

A smile lights up his face as he see's her." Glad you could make it Karen. Should I go get us some tea?" It was the first thing he thought of when she entered. They needed a beverage. Odd thing to think, but it kept him from thinking about how beautiful she looked.

She lightly placed her briefcase on the floor, propped up against her chair. She then sat up straight, delicately arching her back. She turned slightly and faced Haru. "That would be wonderful."

He stands and makes his way to the counter where he orders two tea's. Waiting as they are brought before he moves back over and sits hers down in front of her and reclaims his seat."Busy day?"

While he was on his way back, she decided to take off her blazer, maybe in the hopes of catching his eye. She looked up slightly, elongating her neck. She leaned forward and reached backwards with her arms, jutting out her chest as she removed the blazer from her shoulders, then slowly removed it from her exposed arms and draped it over the back of her chair. She smiled as he sat and said, ?Just a few meetings today. Nothing much, just getting a few stations in order. How
was your day??

It does catch his eye, at least briefly. He didn't really like pink. He couldn't get back at her eithe though, he didn't have his hoodie on to take it off. "It was fairly boring. Just walking around and stuff. Listening to music. You know, the usual." A twitch of his wolf ears.

She smiled at his twitch, then went into business mode, where she could retreat from anything she wanted to say instead. "I wasn't sure how many radio DJs to have. How many stations do you think we should focus on?"

He smiles back."That depends on what types of music you want to put on these stations. I mean we shouldn't try too many at the start, maybe add a couple later."

She laughed, "You know me, always trying to plan expansion. What stations would you advise first? Pop would be important."

"Of course I know you."He shudders at the idea of pop."I suppose it would be."He didn't like pop, but it was a radio station.

She smiled at his shudder. "Of course we'll have a station with your taste, but I need to make money and pop will make us money."

"I know."Though he knew there were plenty of people who listened to his style."We should definitely put in some rock."

"It sounds great." She was making mental notes in her head. "What other stations would you advise?"

"Well of course. How many stations do you wish to have?"An appreciative look over her, though subtle.

She was glad that she wasn't boring him with business talk. She could see he was interested. She figured he must really only be interested in the conversation, but that wasn't going to stop her from trying. She crossed her legs gracefully, then was annoyed with herself for doing so, since he probably couldn't see them from under the table anyway. "Well, I'd imagine we could have at least six stations, but would that be too much at first? You know how I try to bite off more than I can chew."

"How about we just start with four."A yawn and he stretches out his shirt slightly lifting. It happened when you could wear smalls.

"That is good..." she said as she watched his shirt lift lightly. She quickly turned her eyes back to his. "Yes, four would be good. Pop, rock. What else? I doubt I could convince you to incorporate country." She smiled, hoping to make him squirm by her statement.

That did a good job at making him squirm. He didn't know which he disliked more. Pop or Country. "How about getting some heavier stuff in?I mean stuff I played with my band."

"Sure. How would you describe it? How can I market it?" She was a fish out of water when it came to music, that was his world. But she was trying to be more a part of it, the music part, she told herself.

"I'd say punk or metalcore. And there are people who listen to it. Quite a few, just not as many as pop and rock." Shrugging. "But you can get plenty of people listening."

"Oh, yes. I can market anything. Don't worry about that. People will listen. That's three. Should we try to pick one more?"

"If you wish. I think you should choose though." A smile as he watches her. It was great being around her, but he would never let her know just how much she meant to him.

She bit her lower lip and looked down, deep in thought. She didn't want to pick wrong and look bad in his eyes. "What if we make one staion a variety station? It can incorporate different music every shift. Maybe an hour of talk here or there, a couple hours of classical, a couple hours of indie. Something like that. Just until we see what works."

"That would be great." He smiles letting her know that he was fine with it and thought that it was a good idea."I may be the music one, but you're the business one."

She looks at him and laughs, "But you seem to do yours so much better." She took a soft sigh of relief.

"That's because I believe it takes much more passion to do music. Business is just business.Music speaks to the soul directly."

A Secret Crush And Business Part 2

He was already talking to her soul, but she wouldn't let him know that. She was too stubborn to let anyone know her feelings and weaknesses. The same stubbornness lead to her great business sense. "That is true," she said watching him, wondering how much 'passion' he had.

"Of course it's true. You can't just wake up one day and suddenly decide you want to do music. You have to truly feel it. Feel it in every inch of your body. Practice every day towards your goal."

"I admire that kind of passion. Thankfully people have different interests that let us excel in different ways. I just enjoy running my company. It gives me focus, control, just as musicians control their instruments." She smiled lightly.

"I suppose it could be the same, but almost everyone listens to music and it gives them inspiration. It's partially what makes music so great."He had some secret passion, but that was him to know and for her to maybe find out in the future.

"I completely agree. Music is something special. Music can touch everyone. It's more powerful than language. It even touches animals."

"Of course. It especially touches the heart." Was that a hint? Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't.

The words had an important meaning to her as well, but she wouldn't admit it, and she certainly wouldn't assume the words has a higher meaning to him.

"Very much so. I never fully understood the pleasure in music until I heard your band play."

"Well I'm glad my band could show you how good music could be."A sip of the tea he had basically forgotten.

She took a sip of her forgotten tea as well when she saw him reach for his. She forgot a lot of things when she was with him, distracted by being with him.

"Yes, I knew you would be an asset to the recording company. You know so much more about music than I. I know when I'm not an expert in a given field, and I know how to pick a good one." Her lips formed a thin smile.

"I'm not that good."He was going the 'play down the compliment' way. That was usually how he did things."I am glad you picked me though."

"I wouldn't have accepted anyone else." She said with sincerity, as though no one else even entered her mind. Especially at this moment, no one else did.

"Oh really?"Another smile. "You wouldn't have accepted anyone else?"

"No, not at all. I only decided to go through with the company once you were on board. I like to work with people who know more than me." She laughed. "It ensures each one of my companies is at their maximum potential. Besides, it helps when I get to work with people that I... trust."

"I suppose that would help." Another sip of his tea. "It's always good to work with someone you trust. Even if you didn't know they were anthro."Grinning.

"Well, there's a lot worse things to be." She pushed back some of her dark brown hair from her shoulders. "I never try to judge anyone on appearances. Someone could lose the opportunity for a great friend." She smiled, but spoke her last word distinctly, as if left a bad taste in her mouth.

"I know, if I would've judged you based on looks... Well, you're a business woman." Chuckling because he was teasing her.

She sighed, pretending to be offended and leaned against the back of her chair, putting her hand against her heart, as if his words wounded her. She left her hand there for a moment, after realizing it was drawing attention to some things. She eventually returned her hand to her tea cup and said, "Well, you certainly don't seem like you could manage a recording company, but sometimes people surprise you."

It did draw some attention, though it was brief as he didn't want to be rude. "I will admit I wouldn't be the best with a recording studio, but that's mostly because I'm more into playing the music."

"We can do it together. Your knowledge of music and my business sense. We do work together pretty well. Imagine how good it will be when we put out heads together." She tried not to wince as she realized what she said.

"I think putting our heads together would be quite magical for that." A wink though as he uses it for two different meanings.

She closed her eyes and shook her head lightly, realizing she had been caught. She opened her mouth to say something in her defense but was too embarrassed. Blushing, she opened her eyes and said, "I mean we can make the recording studio successful if we work together."

"I know what you mean." Laughing. "You know I like to tease you Karen."

"I know." She said with an exasperated breath. She needed to change the subject. "Is there anything else that we would need to plan out? DJ schedules? Who many DJs we should have for each of the four stations?" She always retreated into work.

"Well that depends.Do you want it to be an all day radio, or do you want only partial day?"

"I was hoping they would all run 24 hours. Is that too much? At least one should run all night."

"I suppose. If we put them on 8 hour shifts that would be three different sets of Dj's. Then we would need two DJ's for each shift. So six DJ's per station.Right now that would be twenty-four DJ's."

"Well, some wouldn't always need two, and at night they could just be scheduled playlists for the most part."

"So at night we could just keep one DJ per station."

"Right. We can always add more as we grow and as the public demands it. I'm trying to learn to start slow." She laughed.

"Well as a slow start we could use one DJ per station. Then we could limit it to twelve per day."

"That sounds good. See? That's why I need you." She caught her mistake in words this time and added quickly, "I need your music expertise."

A smile."I think it's about time that you got some rest."Standing and draining his tea."It was nice to have tea with you."

She finished her tea as well. "Yes, I have a few more meetings to attend. I'm happy I got to talk to you... to discuss the company."

"I am happy as well." With that he stands and mkaes his way out with a small wave. He had a great time with her and now it was off with his thoughts.

Karen stood up and put on her blazer. She grabbed her briefcase and pushed in her chair. She liked waiting around a few moments after he, just so she could go over their words. She laughed off all of her mistakes as she turned and began walking to her next meeting.
