To the New Student of the IAP.
Welcome to our interactive role-play experience!

The IAP is designed to promote the most interaction and character development possible and we encourage those who enjoy this style of gaming to join us. We?re a little convoluted now that we?ve had some time to advance our plot-lines so this thread is being created to provide a kind of walk through for our newest accepted students.

If you?ve made it this far it?s because you?ve submitted an Application to the Letter of Application Thread and have heard back from Arkon Daraul and/or Satariel Shah.

Upon acceptance you will be the recipient of the appropriate level of uniform icon and the insignia badge from yours truly. Feel free to take a peek at the Basics to get an idea of classes offered and a breakdown of uniforms and expectations.

The First Order of ?Business? is to add yourself to the Class Roster so that everybody knows that you?re here. You may want to take some time to familiarize yourself with those within the Class Rosters as there are NPCs that are available for interpretation in your own writing and advancement. This might also be a good time to take a quick look at the Faculty Directory which is set up in a similar fashion.

Your Second Order of ?Business? would be to take a quick peek at the Room Assignment list to discover who your new dorm-mates might be. This will allow for interaction between you, other players, and even some NPCs for good measure.

Within a few days you will be supplied with a mentor by the Deaconess and again more opportunities to play can be found in the Mentoring Program. You may also find yourself interested in one of the Houses or being fought over by different Overseers. Choose wisely as each house possesses strengths and weaknesses. Houses include: GorgonHorn, ViperFang, StormSabre and SatyrKiss.

You are welcome to join any of the Open Threads (encouraged even!): Dorm Life (almost a must) provides the most concentrated area of student writing and will give you the most opportunity to explore the IAP with your student. Helping Hand is another great avenue for development and is tied to helping Orphans in Rhy?Din (keep in mind that the IAP rarely does things simply out of the goodness of their hearts). The Student Polyvore is also open for inclusion of your artwork, clothing, and other miscellaneous pictures.

We try to jump aboard any Playables that are conducive to our storylines and encourage outside involvement with other Rhy'Dinites. One of the more recent ones included a Lockdown as inspired by this thread. We also encourage participation in the Duel of Magic as seen in the Training thread (though it is understood that dueling is not for everyone, we hope that you try it at least once). Additionally, everyone has the opportunity to create their own thread (permission from the players who have authored these stories is needed to join in) to continue a more involved storyline that deviates from simple dorm life inclusions (A few examples include: The Lycan Legacy , Vesper?s Vignettes, Chained Reflections, Akuma Taijiya).

A couple of staples: Twilight Island Tuesday Nights is kind of a local hang out for IAP'rs. And every so often a more guided RP opportunity is presented, ie the Gatecrashers SL, or Vesper?s Challenge, or the Bone Acquisition Challenge.

Areas that are created to allow for interpretation and integration into your own storylines include: The Gossip Winds, Faculty Lounge, and the Mistmark thread.

And finally join us on the OOC Thread for silliness, questions and answers, and general chitchat. Or pick the perfect outfit for your Yearbook picture or find the perfect music for your character in the Music Thread.
