((OOC Note: This thread is a work in progress, and will be updated as necessary. For the moment this is meant to allow those involved in the Legion's SLs to keep track of important information.))
((Edit Note: We've increased the number of PC officers, so I am re-arranging the top ranks slightly.))

The Legion of Chain consisted of roughly 18,000 total individuals.
Of this total, roughly 3000 were support personel in non-combat positions, including Suede's Medical Corps, consisting of 2000 specialists.
The other 2000 support consisted of 1000 Engineers and 1000 Logistics personel.
This left 15000 fighting men, broken down into 5000 professional soldiers and mercenaries, and 10,000 warrior-slaves from Gor.
The mercs and professionals were again divided into Officers, numbering at 2383, and the grunts numbering at 2617.
For the Officers, 40 were fortunate to be trained by Hex and Verishia as Elites.
Elite was a rank seperate from the usual chain of command, falling under the direct authority of either Hex or Verishia themselves.
In battle, the orders of an Elite were considered just below that of the three Colonels, that is unless the Elite was acting under direct orders from either Hex or Verishia.
Hex holds the rank of Commisar, the highest rank within the Legion.
Verishia holds the rank of Commander, and should others join the Legion, this rank is reserved for those under Hex, but in command of any element of the Legion.
The rest of the Officers consisted of 3 Colonels, 15 Captains, 75 Lieutenants, 375 Majors, and 1875 Sergeants.
The 15,000 fighting men of the Legion itself were broken into 3 Divisions, each commanded by a Colonel.
A Division consisted of 5000 men, including all attached Officers, and was broken into 5 Batallions, each commanded by a Captain.
A Batallion consisted of 1000 Men, was broken down into 5 Companies, each commanded by a Lieutenant.
A Company consisted of 200 Men, was broken into 5 Platoons, each commanded by a Major.
A Platoon consisted of 40 Men, and was broken into 5 Squads, each commanded by a Sergeant.
A Squad consisted of the commanding Sergeant and 7 other soldiers.
A Platoon was the smallest unit which would act independantly in skirmish battles, however individual Squads could be detatched from their larger elements for special assignments, the most common of which was scouting details.
This command structure has been designed using knowledge of more modern forms of war, while allowing for organization even in a melee battle.

Every officer is equipped with tactical communications gear, with each rank level having nested sets of channels.
For example: A Major commanding a Platoon could listen in on the comm traffic of any of the Squads in his command, but not overhear the comm chatter of any other Platoon.
At the top level, Hex had simultaneous access to every comm channel in the entire net.
Specialized software allowed the mechanical Commander to sort and make sense of the constant noise of every Officer on the field.
This allowed Hex to issue orders fluidly to any level of command, without having to go down the chain every step of the way.

The large majority of the soldiers in the Legion were equipped with traditional swords, shields, and light metal armor.
The Officers were given higher-grade steel armor and a roughly half of the upper ranks used high-carbon steel weapons.
Every archer in the Legion was equipped with a compressed gas driven, repeating crossbow. Drum magazines of 100 steel bolts were fed by an automatic mechanism into the firing chamber. A gas canister was worn on the belt and connected by hose to the crossbow. Firing rates for the crossbow were roughly 90 rounds per minute, though the weapon had selectable fire modes: Single, 3-bolt burst, and full auto. Each archer would carry three spare magazines and two spare gas canisters. Each canister was good for 200 rounds, and could be recharged by Logistics after or during battle.
Hex and Verishia's Elites are equipped with a wide variety of weapons and armor. Hex's Elites were given modern poly-ceramic body armor, as well as powered chainswords, making them more than a match for almost any 'conventional' soldier.

Transportation for the entire Legion, as well as it's supplies was handled by the 1000 men of the Logistic Batallion. Each Division was assigned 300 men from Logistic, with the remaining 100 assigned as needed.
Hex and the Engineers had developed vehicles utilizing steam engines, and these vehicles were varied in design.
Primary among these was the Supply Carrier. Resembling a modern APC, with four tri-hubbed wheels capable of traversing almost any terrain. The wheel base was a triangle of three oversized offroad, solid-core tires. As obstacles were encountered, the triangular hub would rotate, enabling the vehicle to 'climb' over the roadblock. Each Supply carrier could carry up to 80 tons of cargo, equivalent to a modern double-trailer mack truck.
Each Division was assigned six Supply Carriers, with one of these equipped with mobile dimensional portal equipment. These portal trucks were intended to keep each division connected to the Slaver Association compound back on Rhydin, thus ensuring supply lines even while on the move.
In addition to these three portal trucks, one per Division, there was a fourth assigned to serve whatever command post might be set up for Hex and Verishia to utilize. Two more trucks were set up with modern electronic battlefield command equipment.

A smaller variant to the Supply Carrier was developed as an actual APC, with a maximum capacity of 10 soldiers. Two of these are assigned for Commander Hex and Commander Verishia's use alone. Another four have been assigned to the command staff of the Legion, and the remaining six are assigned to the Medical Corps.

The next vehicle was the mortar tank. Heavily armored, and traveling again on the tri-hub wheels, these were the Legion's current version of ancient siege engines. The single cannon was capable of firing 105mm shells packed with low-grade gunpowder and designed in two variants: anti-personell flechette rounds with a kill-radius of 10 feet from impact, and more dense siege rounds which acted in much the same way a catapault's stones did. A third ammo variant was developed using ancient Greek Fire, however only a small number of shells have been produced.

Finally a smaller siege engine was developed as an anti-personel weapon. This was roughly the size of a combat jeep, and carried a steam-driven ballista weapon. The bolts were made of compressed carbon-steel, and could easily punch through any stone wall not aided by magical protection. In addition to the ballista, this vehicle was equipped with four steam-driven, belt fed, repeating crossbow weapons.

The lay out for the army looks sound Hex. How ever, I am not sure what you are using for you model of ranking organization, but Captain is just above Sargent, Followed by Lieutenant, then Major, and ends with colonel. But that is using real life army layout. You may be using something I am not familiar with, but the Legion is looking good.

The lay out for the army looks sound Hex. How ever, I am not sure what you are using for you model of ranking organization, but Captain is just above Sargent, Followed by Lieutenant, then Major, and ends with colonel. I was using the ranks from the RL US army, however I took some liberties in the actual arrangement of the ranks. It always seemed to me that Lieutenant *sounded* like it was more important than Major, so I switched their places in line.

The other part of it is that I cut out midway ranks like 1st Lieutenant, 2nd Lt, etc. Also you might notice that I skipped Brigade in the element structure. Again, this was personal liberties taken with out it sounded.

Apologies if this does confuse anyone with a RL military background, but that is also part of the reason I made this thread, to keep things on straight.
