Renna. Also known as The Betrayer. So far as Hex knew, she had only the first name; the machine had never heard anyone use any surname when speaking about her. A being born of arcane, supposedly divine, sources; Renna was already quite powerful even before she began consuming various other empowered beings to absorb their power.

And now she was back.

Hex had once worked for her, the Iron Dragons had been contracted to defend one of the borders of her realm some years ago. Since that time she had been defeated, her realm consumed, and she herself locked in the prison of a singularity which was then trapped in a pocket reality.

And now she was back.

Renna had managed to secret portions of her mind and essence into the Rhydin, infecting others like a parasite. Slowly she worked to release her trapped soul and resurrect her body. During this she had confronted Hex. A the end of that encounter, she had offered Hex another contract: to kill the Sisterhood of Scathach.

And now she was back.

The machine knew what Renna's ultimate goals were. It understood, on an intellectual level anyway, what her life's experiences had turned her into. There was a rational mind under all that hate, rage, and pain; however that mind was also twisted into a force of destruction. Her motives might be intellectually admirable: to eliminate pain and suffering from the lives of all beings, for all eternity. However, Renna's methods would scour the cosmos clean of life, twisting everyone into an undead copy of Renna herself... Those that survived that is.

Hex intended to honor the contract. That was the machine's nature after all. However, once that bargain was fullfilled, Hex would spare no effort in ensuring that Renna's ultimate goal was stopped. Not out of any sense of morality, for Hex had none. No. Hex would stop her because there were beings that it's creator, it's Mother, had commanded should be protected at ALL costs, even at the cost of Hex's own life.

Renna was back. And soon, a new war would begin for the Iron Dragons...
