Hanzo was exhausted an effect that is common after fighting a tequila-fueled, anger seething, fire breathing dragon. His eyes slid down to half mast as he smirked himself as he watched a White Mage do her best to heal the grievous wound he had inflicted on her. As he slept, all that he could think of was his major events in his life prior to meeting the Nexus.

First thing that came to mind was himself as a very young child, perhaps a late toddler. He was smiling, returning to his home as he saw a dark and shadowy figure behind his parents. A gleam from the setting sun reflected from off the sword, giving a young Hanzo the face of the soon the be his worse enemy. Hanzo could only stand in shock as his parents were murdered in absolute brutality. In a conclusion to the relentless slashing, impaling and slicing to the post-morbid bodies, he took a very sharp edged scimitar and decapitated them both in one, clean slice.

Amuska Yamasaki fled off into the horizion, leaving a very young Hanzo to absorb scene. Promptly, he grabbed the head's of his parents and headed east, to his Father's lord's house. A long, tedious overnight journey before reaching the estate, promptly passing out near the front gate. Matsudaira Kiyoyasu walked outside at the crack of dawn, screeching to see his servant's son, with his servant's head in his hand. Stirring, little Hanzo awoken and accompanied him inside to a bed. After resting a good 16 hours, he awoken and explained what had happened. Matsudaira nodding slowly, pledging to help take care of him until he was a stable man.

After a few years of consoling and pampering, Matsudaira guided him to be a pupil under a very skilled ninja, though his name was in fog, not good for shadow to be well known. Hanzo, at age eight, began to take lessons under ninjistu, the art of stealth, invisibility, illusion and deceptions. After a few years of time, he was recognized a full-fledged ninja, at age 12. He didn't stop, like most, he continued to train amongst the diverse techniques and skills until he was fairly recognized by a daimyo, or warlord.

At age 16, Hanzo was introduced into battle, 15th century japan was already under the influence of the Sengoku Period, or the warring era. He had a small role in the battle, kill an inexperienced officer and flea. Easy for him, it was night time and the officer was on his horse, oblivious to his position. Hanzo was above him, maybe 5 yards or so on a ledge. Flinging a shuriken in a great force, he started to flee, satisfied with the sound of it embedding itself in his neck and the brief, scream of agony before the small thud of him falling off his horse, dead.

He had made a name for himself in just that simple feat, but none the less, he contiued training involved in an occasional battle. He often walked off the battlefield with growing blood on his hand, his count now up to two hundred, or on average, 5 per battle in his two year spree before obtaining the title of master ninja. At age 18, he could boast that he mastered every technique of ninjistu known to man, from simply creating illusory clones to disappearing-literally-disappearing in a smoke cloud, Hanzo knew it all. It was then that he dropped his katana as a weapon and took up the form of fighting with a kusari gama (chained scythe.) It was then, he had heard the rumor of Amuska Yamasaki was on the battlefield, his sworn enemy. He had even caught a glimpse of him on horseback, Hanzo silently left the battlefield in pursuit.

"Only a few hundred yards behind, I can do this." He rivaled the speed of a horse, running at top speed of 30 miles per hour, inhumane beyond comprehension. He finally stopped after a few miles and sighed in defeat.
After 5 more years after serving under his new lord, Ieyasu Tokugawa, the grandson of his caretaker and future shogun of Japan, Hanzo once again, had spotted Yamasaki. This time he had caught him and was engrossed within a long, grueling battle with him before he was groveling at his knees. He glanced up at noticed Hanzo after direct eye contact and his eyes widened as the blade was milimeters away from his neck before a rift in time and space had abducted him, sending him off to a long, distant realm known as Rhy'Din.
