ORIGINS

Born of the Fallen.

Eons ago, the One True God turned his back upon his faithless flock. War, famine, disease, and death destroyed their world as the people fell in despair beneath his averted gaze.

The Angels, born first and risen to Guardians, came together to share in their own desolation at the abandonment of those they were fated to protect.

In the final hour of destruction, as the realm turned in upon itself and succumbed to the chaotic annihilation of a people forsaken, the Angels CHOSE to fall from the Heavens and descend upon the remnants of the land as their saviors and benefactors.

Stricken of their immortal status, the Nephalim became mortals with elongated lives. They dispersed amongst the remaining populace and in the ages that followed became so entwined with the people of Light that they could no longer be separated.

Possessing the power of CHOICE, it is their belief that pure desire is the most powerful force at work. Much like outsiders might view fate and/or luck, they believe that their simple CHOICE has enough weight to dictate the outcome of most situations. Because of this powerful belief, they are almost magically or spiritually enhanced to arrive at success in their endeavors. But due to this, when hardships do befall one of their people, the accepted (if not always voiced) belief is that that individual simply did not CHOOSE the outcome with their heart, OR it can mean that there is a concerted effort of others CHOOSING a conflicting result.

Time of Fortune.

With CHOICE replacing belief in a divine being, the People of the Light flourished and for centuries experienced great fortune. Kingdoms grew and the population recovered from their near eradication. Fostered by the Nephalim who had interbred with the people, the People of the Light could no longer claim any real separation from the Fallen. The average life span became an accepted 300 years, the average family size limited itself to 1 or 2 offspring and with the simple belief of CHOICE dictating their lives, the people prospered.

The Dark Days.

The One True God had not forgotten though his own position of power had diminished with the loss of his Angels. As his followers turned from their belief in him to a belief in CHOICE he became un-worshiped, forgotten, and quite obsolete.

Until the Shaitan arrived. The Dark Pledge of the Covenant promised to restore him to power should he aid in their evil designs. Gifting him with a shard, the One True God became simply Maloch, a Dark General of the Shaitan and drew his considerable talents and attention down upon those who had dared to survive his renouncement.

War and strife plagued the realm of the Light. The People were assaulted within the dark recesses of their minds and abused in their very souls by a wrathful God who wished vengeance upon their simple betrayal of survival without his blessing.

Ravaged by the combined efforts of the Shaitan Covenant, their realm was torn asunder.

Heroes were made and heroes were destroyed. Legendary warriors were forged in the Dark Wars: great leaders such as Hadrian and Dragidar Adair, Lachlan Macquarie and the Lightbringer, Leoline de Montesquieu, who defeated the vengeful God General Maloch. But the destruction to their realm was insurmountable and from the shattered remnants stepped their saviors who, with heavy hearts, counseled the Exodus.

The New Days.

Venturing forth the Fallen have sought refuge in the land of Rhy?Din, a realm that they know little about but hope to find a new start to rebuild from their harsh losses. In an example of CHOICE at work, they?ve arrived in a realm that not only offers them the best opportunity for recovery but that has also become the unwelcome host to their Darkest Enemy: The Shaitan. For some this is seen as the CHOICE at its finest hour, for vengeance counterbalances survival.

New enemies await and old enemies fester here in the Land of Rhy'Din.
