Johnny Smith

Darkness had brought with it cooler temperatures, along with a pleasant misting drizzle, and Johnny took advantage of that to stroll down to the beach house Sev had shown him the evening before. His white t-shirt was a bright spot in the dark, his blue-jeans were out at the knees, and he was completely oblivious to the way the rain was slowly soaking him. He carried a smallish metal box, no larger than a thick paperback book, easily in one hand, and whistled quietly as he walked - off-key, if anyone were listening.

Tucked inside the box was the pendant she had commisioned, a exquisite border collie, the size of a silver dollar, done in tri-colored gold. He'd opted to take a slight liberty with the piece, and instead of the dog sitting quietly, as it was in Sev's photo, Johnny had shaped it jumping into the air. It was already strung onto a thin gold necklace, and rested on top of the photo Sev had supplied. Along with this, a bonus, was the finished orchid brooch Sev had watched him start the previous night. A short note was attached to the outside of the box.

Sev -

Was a pleasure to meet you last night. Here's your pendant - if you don't like it, let me know and I'll do another. If you need anything, get in touch, right? You can leave a message for me at the Inn if I'm not around.

-Johnny

His footsteps thunked on the paving stones leading up to the front door, and he rang the doorbell - and did the try-to-see-something-through-the-window deal. Johnny didn't wait long, however, before leaving the box on the front stoop, where the overhanging eaves would hopefully keep the note from getting wet. With that, he thrust his hands into his pockets and ambled back down the pathway and onto the beach, strolling along it slowly and enjoying the crash of the waves on the sand.
