Sev laid in bed late monday morning, listening to the sounds of people moving around the beach house. Keir was in the kitchen, cooking breakfast as usual. Smelled like bacon and cheese omelets today. She could hear him having a chat with the new guy.

Richard Walsh.

She'd run his background check last night. She'd had the results back before she even talked to him about joining the team. Gustave had sent them when she had him run Richards DL#. His credentials were impeccable. There wasn't a thing in them she could fault. But he still gave her a feeling of unease.

She went back over the night before and tried to pin the feeling down. He'd been more than gracious about helping her clean up the statues in the marketplace. He was kind of secretive, and for a cop didn't ask enough questions. He was nice enough, and had a sweet smile...

Oh shit, that was it. That tiny undercurrent of attraction. Something she'd only really ever felt with Dusty.

Dusty who was still in a hospital back earthside, comatose after the accident. Dusty whom she had loved enough to run away to marry.

And she had given this man Dusty's old room. Never mind Dusty had moved most his things to Sev's room when they started seriously seeing each other. There was still enough of him in there that Sev felt a moments guilt.

"Dammit Dusty, I told you to slow down before we hit that curve." The redhead hid her face under her pillow muffling her words and her tears. "How am I supposed to keep going on with you gone?"

She didn't know how it had happened, but somehow things were going back to the way they were. Old people were gone, and new ones moving in. Filling the void.

The conversation between the two men, stayed mostly towards the business end of things. Such as how they met and were hired by Sev. After breakfest was done, Richard thanked Keir for the breakfest, as well as helping to clean things up.

He then moved out of the kitchen with a tray of food, as he was dressed in just a white tee shirt, and a pair of blue jean pants. As he rounded the stairs, he moved down the hallway a bit. He stopped outside Sev's room, before shifting the tray to one hand then knocked on her door.

" Sev, you awake yet? I brought breakfast." He heard her voice, but didn't make out what had been said. So now he waited for ehr to answer her bedroom door. At least he brough her breakfast, which oddly had a rose laying on the tray as well.
