Just as an FYI to all the wonderful people I've been enjoying playing with over the past few months - I'm currently without internet connection in my apartment, so unfortunately I'm unable to RP (missing all the fun) and I'm only able to keep up with reading threads from my office.

I hope to remedy my internet problem very soon, but in the meantime I don't have any plans to write an IC story for Eva's absence - unless this internet outage stretches on for significantly longer - so if you'll please just assume she's out and about town and your character just hasn't bumped into her (if you feel so compelled). As always, I'm open to any thread participation, despite the fact that my most recent writings have been character development oriented, so feel free to start something up in here if you are so inclined.

I don't think I'm leaving anything particularly pressing, but if you need anything story-wise, feel free to PM me or leave me a note here.

And of course, feel free to use this thread for any of your OOC needs in the future!

Well, just to keep you up on current events, we are gettin? our A$$' kicked here?

To put it delicately....

While Eva was out walking the streets and couldn?t be found?.

Rena stumped her toe so Maeve wrapped her in gauze from head to toe...

Wil got a paper cut on his tongue. The bleeding couldn?t be staunched, so it had to be amputated with a spork...

Tucker got a sliver of broken mug under his fingernail, developed gangrene, lost his right hand and can no longer toss a drink together that would put Tom Cruise to shame?

Piper came down with a case of head Ringworm and lost all her hair...

Peredhil got his right, pointed ear kicked by a foul-tempered Pixie. It now has a decided limp. Not to mention he has developed a lisp due to hearing impairment....

Eless broke in to Eva?s cache of drugs, absconded with all the Xanax and ran off with the circus...

See what you caused?!?!?

Of course, this is just a touch of the pandemonium that could occur if ya don?t get your arse in gear!

Hope you are doing grand otherwise!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I'm thrilled people seem to be enjoying Addiction.

I should point out that Addiction deals with some very adult and dark themes. A soon-to-be-posted addition has some sexual themes. So please make sure that you are comfortable with adult content before continuing with the story.

Oush. Love the juxtaposition in the latest segment between the visceral violence and Eva's defining it in clinical terms, and Lance's capacity for brutal action with his tenderness towards Eva. :)

Dude, so I am having a complete technological meltdown in my life.

Cellphone stolen - you know who you are Mr. Finds a Phone at the Arclight in Hollywood and Decides to Sell it on Ebay Instead of Returning it to the Rightful Owner.

Office Internet - Kablooie.

Home Internet - Blissfully working... momentarily.

Because of my technological meltdown, I was not able to post the completed new entry for Lex Talionis. Please be patient with me and my technical difficulties.

Assuming AT&T has figured out how to reboot their server, it should be up first thing tomorrow morning PST.

Sorry Tucker-mun.

I don't know if it's just me, but this forum seems eerily mum about the 2008 Pixie Award Nominations which I find very exciting and fun!

Congratulations to all those nominated and in particular to my posting-playing pal, Tucker-mun for his multiple nominations. The nominations are well deserved!

I was thrilled to see the majority of my nominations get through, and I'm looking forward to reading some writers that I have not yet discovered as I sort through the threads I'm unfamiliar with.

Eva and Tucker being nominated for "Cutest Couple" definitely seems like a very loose application of the word "cute." "Dysfunctional" and "Emotionally Challenged" seem more applicable to me, but it made me smile that they were thought of in that category, all the same.

So thanks to the nominators and good luck to all the nominees!

::cheers!:: Hey, that was some post, Eva. I really liked Voices. You seem to have grasped the idea of being able to write every part of a story. See, if I'd tried to write something like that, I'd rush to the end and wonder how on earth I could possibly make it longer. lol!

I couldn't resist making another comment after reading 'In the Teeth'. Brilliant, you two! I love the way you write, Eva. And Tucker, you put so much emotion into your post!

Just a little note in case it was not obvious - the events of "House Call" in the Expressions of Hope folder occurred before the latest events in "In the Teeth."

Luna Eva

Date: 2008-09-04 01:54 EST
Just another note that the events that will be playing out in the new thread "Blood is Thicker Than Water" occurred prior to the events in "In the Teeth."

Luna Eva

Thank you Eless! I'm glad you stopped by.

Just another note: The events in "Ashes" are meant to take place pretty closely following the events in "In the Teeth," and will eventually be connecting to the present so-to-speak. At least that's the plan - we'll see what writing time allows.

I'm really enjoying Stop/Start. It's interesting because, to Jewell at least, Eva always seems so sweet and serene. Now at least I can get a look inside her head and see all the negativity that's there, and it's so very understandable; the way you portray her reactions and thoughts to events seems so very natural and human.

I also enjoyed the whole part about her reflecting on meeting Franco at the wedding and realizing he was laughing at her. It's cool that you keep up with your writing so that you can include current things that actually happened in-play. :)

Lucky, your participation is greatly appreciated by both of us!

I also wanted to take a moment to thank Mason's player - you are an awesome collaborator - creative and patient and incredibly talented. It is a joy to write with you!

I know there's been a long delay since my last post in "Tight Squeeze." I apologize for the sudden lack of momentum in that SL. I promise that there are future postings in the offing. I do have a sense of where that story is going, it's just a matter of finding the time to do justice to the writing.

In the meantime, I hope you'll accept a new post in "Meetings." A poor substitute for the dense story in "Tight Squeeze" but take it as evidence that I'm still here!

Hello again, everyone!

So I just posted something new in Tight Squeeze and need to say a few quick things about it:

This scene would have taken place way back at the end of summer, while the character of Lirssa was just recovering from her injuries after her abduction. Real life time constraints has kept me from posting, but please mentally back date the scene.

While the Tight Squeeze story line continues, it's actually quite unlikely that Eva and Ewan would have let the problem of Rachel drag on for so long. I hope though, that you'll be able to suspend your disbelief and let me wrap the story line at the slow pace my life currently allows. The one thing I can promise is that this SL will eventually have a resolution.

In the meantime I hope you'll be patient with me. Over the next few posts I might be sprinting through the seasons to try to get back to a "present" time. It probably won't work out perfectly, but I promise to do my best!

Last, special thanks as always to Mason's player - the scene was adapted from tremendous live play with a whole lot of help.

Thanks for reading as always!

The Italicized section in the first post of Best Laid Schemes is adapted from live play with Eva's player from over several years ago. (yes, I am lucky!)

The rest of the posts will be adapted from recent live play.

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

I'm a little late, but I wanted to say I enjoyed the latest (last?) posts in Tight Squeeze. And(!) I can't wait to see the engagement!

Just wanted to drop a quick note that the most recent post in Windows was a collaboration between myself and Mason's player.

And also to say a quick thank you to Darien Fenner whose Nexus Weekly gave us something to write about.

The most recent post in Tight Squeeze is officially the last post of that story line. I'm done! Finally!

I wanted to publicly thank the player of Ewan Corinsson. Not only am I grateful for your participation in the early part of this story, but I also appreciate your generously allowing me to involve the Yransea Warehouse and the Tunnelers in my story.

I initially intended this story line to be written over the course of a few months, but it seemed my life had other plans. Three years later I'm finally at the end of it. Needless to say, it's highly unlikely that Ewan would have let Eva's problem remain unresolved for so long, keeping the warehouse in jeopardy. Surely, he would have intervened by now and taken matters into his own hands. So if you don't mind suspending your disbelief and chalking this one up to the wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff of RhyDin.

Last, this SL ended up being much more difficult for me to write than I expected, and in the end, I only feel half-pleased with the results. I'm amazed that anyone is still reading (or at least clicking the link). Moving forward, I'm hoping to get back to the kind of collaboration that is what inspires me so much about writing and playing here. Interacting with other characters brings out the best in me and my writing. I'm looking forward to having a little more time to get involved with other characters and their stories.

Thank you again for reading, or clicking, and giving me a reason to keep this folder alive!

Still here and working on some ideas! Been having some time for room play recently which has been a lot of fun -- in particular getting to see and play with some old friends. Hope to have something new up soon!

I hope there is more.

It was really great getting the opportunity to live play recently during Beltane. Some real life challenges have made making time difficult, but I still love being a part of this community, and will continue to participate and write when I can. Hopefully new writing soon!

I was excited to see your latest as well!

Will the wedding day or the big bash possibly be live play? If not, I totally understand. But if you're planning on it, I'd sure like to know.

Thank you so much for the nice messages! Mason and Eva are having a small family wedding out of town that will not be live play. But we do hope to have a live play party back in RhyDin! We'll keep you posted as soon as we figure out timing.

Thanks for staying with us all these years!

So this is something that I wanted to share, and I hope you?ll all indulge me with it here.

My father passed away in May after a long battle with cancer. I wrote the most recent post in the Always thread, a post about Eva missing her father on her wedding day, maybe a month after my real father had died. It was difficult to write. Perhaps a little too true. But for me, the grief was raw and rough. A fresh wound that stung. My character, Eva, lost her father many years ago, also after a long illness. For her, the grief was old. Still painful, but not the fresh pain that I was feeling.

In some ways, it was helpful for me to try to write about Eva?s old grief when mine was so new. It allowed me to acknowledge that I would always feel sad about missing my dad, but it also gave me hope that someday my grief would be more bearable. Especially when it was, and in some ways still is, so impossible to bear.

I have been writing and playing Eva for more than two decades now (holy cow!). It has been many things to me---a creative outlet, an escape, entertainment---but it has never been as cathartic as it was for me when I wrote this post. This wasn?t the first time I drew on my own life in my writing, to be fair. But it was the first time that it helped me in a way that I did not anticipate.

I know we all play and write for different reasons. And I also know that we have all experienced pain and loss in our lives. I share this with you for two reasons: first, because I hope that if you are ever feeling pain, that you reach for and remember that play and writing can help you imagine a comfort, and second, to thank you all for your part in giving me the gift of this creative community that has been such a constant part of my life for so many years.

Thank you for reading, thank you for writing, thank you for everything.

So sorry for your loss. I think we've all been there at one time or another. I'm glad you had this place to help you work out some of that pain. *hugs*

Thank you, Desmond. It's been a rough go, but getting better. Up and down. Like you said, I think we've all been there. One day at a time. :)

It should be apparent, but the most recent post in the Always thread was adapted from play with Lucien Mallorek (Lucky Duck).

I am sending a huge thank you to him for his generosity with his time, and for many, many fun nights of play together. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Eva and Mason are having an end of summer housewarming barbecue! This is a forum event open to any who wish to participate. There were no formal invitations, just fliers handed out so people have the details. Eva and Mason have been inviting their friends and acquaintances. If your character has interacted with them or is friendly with them, you?re welcome to assume they were invited!

We welcome anyone with interest to participate in the thread, with the usual request to respect the setting and not go too wild with your writing. They just bought this house, so let?s keep the red wine off the carpets, please! Thanks! :)

The IC thread will be posted and available beginning the day of the party, Saturday, for your participation!
