::Aurthur paced into the Oracle's office building, looking about. He had been here a few times before, and knew the best thing to do would be to wait until someone was available to see him. So he settled out in the lobby and waited patiently, watching the hustle and bustle of the busy office.::

Becky is sitting at her desk doing what she does best: her nails. When in comes a dragon. I do not get paid enough, I want a raise. She thought as she put on a smile and the nail file down.

"Is someone expecting you?" She asked the dragon.

Des was dressed in one of the gowns that Gav so enjoyed seeing her in today but that didn't keep her from sneaking out of her desk chair when she heard Becky's voice talking to someone. Nor did it keep her from carefully holding the hem up so that she wouldn't trip over it, nor get the lovely hunter green confection dirty, as she darted from desk to nice tall plant to pillar to edge of doorframe, until she could peek to see who was in the reception area without being seen herself.

She was certainly surprised to see it was Aurthur as the times he and Icer came to the office building were pretty rare. She couldn't help but wonder if something terrible had happened that she hadn't heard of yet but he looked pretty relaxed and calm out there. He wasn't roaring like she had seen him do nor was he yelling for the attention of one of the reporters. It might just be safe to show herself she thought but just in case she would wait to see what he told Becky.

::Aurthur blinked and turned his head to the woman, and he smiled, giving a bow of his head.:: Well, no, i dont think anyone is really expecting me, but i thought i would drop in. You see, i had a wonderful idea that i think may be of some help to Rhydin. It was kind of an accident as to how i stumbled on to the idea, actually. It happened when my mate Icer and I were having a conversation......Oh, but im just babbling now. ::he chuckled softly, knowing that he was not really known as a talker, save for to his mate.::

Becky stares at the dragon, then rolls her eyes. "No appointment?"

With a heavy sigh she writes something quick on a note and hands it to one of the newspaper boys. "See if there's anyone upstairs that would like to talk to this guy." She looks back at Aurthur. "You can have a seat."

Then she picks up her nail file and goes back to doing her job.

Des took the note from the boy when he came through the door with a smile to him. She was thinking fast about what the large dragon had said. He was making a claim about something to help the whole town. Now why exactly he came to the paper and not the Governor might be pretty interesting to find out along with what it was he thought was going to help. Not to mention in what area he was hoping to help out.

Way to many things were happening that were just not right in her opinion with all the goings on and she was even seriously considering gathering up her hand picked guard again and toting them around. There was murder and mayhem everywhere and her ?Deadliest weapon known to man? was not lethal in reality. Nerf darts weren?t going to detour a natural born killer for long.

Yes there was the surprise factor that would give her time to get away using her wedding ring and the set-spell that her husband had crafted within it for her protection but those darts didn?t even contain something to tranquilize a person. All they were was foam with a suction cup on the end so they would stick if her aim was true.

Then again there were the other more traditional and even a few nontraditional that she did always carry on her person that were the cause of more than one of her refined Westridge dressing maids having to be carried out of her dressing room in a dead faint by the footman that was always standing in the hallway. Of course that was not that footman?s main reason for being there. He was really there to hold open the doors when a body wanted to walk in or out of them and that was another thing that had taken her many months to get used to. Who would have thought there were people being paid to do nothing but stand and open and close doors in a hallway.

But now she was way off track as there was Aurthur still in the reception area as she drug her thoughts back to the situation at hand and away from all those other interesting tangents. The cowgirl Queen spied Becky back at it filing away at her nails and drew in her breath in a low hiss. The woman was not being paid to file her nails all ding dang day and if Amal caught her doing that she would be out on the street with those nasty newspaper boys selling papers.

Navy blues narrowed slightly upon the pretty woman at the desk as she stepped into view and put on her regal smile and persona for their visitor. ?Good day Aurthur. I understand you are wanting to speak with a reporter about something. I have some time.? She glanced toward the nail filing receptionist with a cutting look. ?Becky I believe Jewell?s husband, Stephan, was looking for you. Something about a plank.?

Of course she hadn't really heard the Pirate mentioning anything about a plank but if it would get the woman working instead of doing nothing but filing her nails she would try the scare tactic first. Then if that didn't work there were always other means to get her point across.

::Aurthur smiled warmly as he spotted her and gave a bow of his head.:: "Tera, how are you?! It's been a little bit since last i saw you, what with all the nastiness that has been occuring lately." ::He was of course speaking of his current abduction, along with Aurok and his son Icewing, but that was not the reason he had come.::
"You see, i wanted to come talk to the paper about an idea that i had. It seems that there are a lot of lost children here in Rhydin, despite the orphanages we have in place. And children, hatchlings in particular, seem drawn to my mate. This idea is perhaps better suited to be heard by the governor, but i was also thinking that it might be a good idea to come here and see if i could publicize it so that others will know right away. Everyone in Rhydin must read the paper, after all. I know that I do."
"But, my idea, you see, is to take in the homeless, lost, abandoned, or orphaned children of Rhydin that cant go to the regular orphange. No child should have to live a life without a good home and loving parents. I love children, myself, and i know my mate does too. And this home will not be open only to dragons. Any race can come to us for a home, be they feline, gryphon, whatever. They will be loved as if they were the blood children of my mate and I, they would be housed, and they would be protected."
"I have already started preparations, and have many rooms available. My mate and I......we do not believe that children should have to grow up like we did. Scared, alone, hungry, unloved.......They should be given a fair chance to have a good and happy life, don't you agree?"

Des smiled as she listened to Aurthur with her hands neatly folded in front of her as she stood quite relaxed there in the reception area. She managed not to dart dirty looks over at Becky as she focused on their guest. Instead she nodded occasionally when appropriate in places while he laid out his and Icer?s thoughts and plans.

It really was a good idea she thought to herself that any race or species could come to them for a home as she knew what a good mother Icer would be. She hadn?t been around Aurthur nearly as much but a mother?s love was very important in her opinion, having a daughter herself, so when he finished speaking she nodded again.

?I have been doing wonderfully thank ya for asking. Aurthur I believe your idea has a great deal of merit and would you and Icer like to advertise your place in the paper as you are right many of the people in town do read The Oracle and I believe this would be a great way to get the word out that y?all are willing to take in anyone and everyone that is orphaned and needs a home.?

::Aurthur's smile was of profound happiness as she voiced her approval to his idea, and he bowed his head.:: "You have my gratitude! I am glad that you think my idea a sound one. The children that come to us will well sheltered and protected, as all of our children are."
