During the late hours of the night on Aug. 1, while the festivities of the Ascension Moon were winding down, a small note was slipped under the main door of the Oracle offices. it read:

Dear Citizens of Rhy'Din,

A new order has come to claim the streets and alleyways of WestEnd.
Let none challenge the Nightblades, for none are worthy... and you can take that straight to the Bank..

Deepest sincerity,

Des picked up the newest letter and read it as she made her way toward the desks. One hand was rubbing her rather upset stomach as it was still rather early in the morning and she wasn't yet certain if she was going to be running for the nearest restroom or not.

She gave the refreshment table a very wide berth along with a baleful glare towards her beloved husband's desk as she took a seat at her own desk with the letter in hand. "Oh lordy be I should have just stayed home I'm thinking." She muttered aloud to herself still rubbing her stomach even though it didn't help one bit with the nausea. Nothing did really except time.

The signature caught her attention as it was one she hadn't seen before and she didn't have a face to put with it to boot. "Hmm. Nightblades think they are gonna take over where Talomar and the Bloods rule. This should be interesting. I'm gonna keep an eye on this here situation."

She then stood and tacked the note up on the wall for the next reporter to see. "Hey y'all! We got us new players over in WestEnd for any of y'all that are interested!"

Gavilean looked over at Des and saw that her morning sickness had not yet passed. He walked over to Des with the intention of just rubbing her shoulders and giving her a kiss and some attention.

"What are you pinning up there, love?"

He looked at the note and read it.

He laughed. "Oh dear, not another one. They won't even be able to claim the trash cans with S.E.C.T.O.R. and the Bloods there."

He took the note down. "Here, let me pin it up on the "BEAR" side of the board. We need to keep our residents straight."

He pinned it up under the large "BEAR" letters, on top of a growing number of letters of like kind.

While he was doing that, he noticed that the delivery boy from the flower shop put the dozen long-stemmed red roses that he had ordered on Des' desk.

Gavilean?s wife was startled as he came up behind her, a little frown drawing down her brows as she stifled the growl that wanted to rumble upon recognizing his touch but then he laughed. There was no way she could stay in her testy mood when he laughed like that and upon seeing him moving the note she had to chuckle herself.

It was true The Oracle had been getting several letters from persons unknown claiming they were going to take over either sections of RhyDin or all of RhyDin in one way or another and all of the reporters were trying to track down leads to find out who was sending these letters.

No one was certain yet even if it was one person or many different people sending the letters although the handwriting was suggesting that the letters were coming from different people. Maybe they were all in this together though she thought to herself. One big group that were plotting and planning since this latest one mentioned ?Nightblades? which sounded like a group.

But then she had to backtrack because others had also mentioned group names. It was all too much with her stomach doing dangerous flip flops at random intervals especially since comfort was only a half turn away in those strong arms that she knew would wrap around her if she just moved that tiny little bit toward him.

So she turned and slid her arms around her beloved husband?s waist to burrow against his warmth for comforting. The bright splash of red sitting on her desk that hadn?t been there before caught her attention as she did so which had her leaning slightly to the side to peer around him to see what it could be.

A dozen red roses in their vase prominently displayed on her desk that could only have come from him. This caused another of her new afflictions to kick in as tears flooded navy blues in a sudden mood swing from feeling very testy towards him to just melting at his thoughtfulness. She quickly turned back to bury her face in the center of his chest to hide them.

Des? voice was muffled by his shirt as she whispered to him, ?Amin mela ille, Gav. Thank ya so much for loving me when I am such a pain right now.?

"Pain?" He smiled and cupped her face in his hand. "You are my wife, and you are carrying our child. How could you ever be a pain to me?"

He placed a kiss upon her lips. "You will always be perfect in my eyes. I love you, Des...forever and always and two days."

He picked up his camera. "Let's go get Amal a frontpage story." He gave her a wink and took her hand in his.

The cowgirl Queen smiled a watery but loving, tender, smile to her husband who these days she was more thankful for than ever as time and again he helped her get through the icky part of being pregnant and shared with her the joy of the same.

Just a few more weeks the Midwife had assured her and the morning sickness should hopefully pass as well as the worst of the mood swings. She could hold out with her beloved husband?s unfailing support. They would get through this part together just like they did everything. Then they would have the precious life they had created together to love and cherish just as they did each other. She truly couldn?t wait.

?I do love you Gav forever and always and two days. I?m with ya on finding a story today Babe.?

Her lips still tingling in a pleasant way from that kiss she placed her hand in his and turned to go see what they could find that might be front page news going on in town.
