The wolf dropped a small envelope on the doorstep and ran quickly away from the building.

The note read:
"Strange men in black hooded robes have been appearing everywhere in the city...Their magic is black please do not send any reporter to investigate this. Only death will follow,

lone wolf."

The cowgirl Queen was not having a good day. She and her beloved husband had returned to town to finish up their articles for the paper. The deadline was hovering over their heads. All Des wanted to do was lounge back in Westridge with her swollen feet propped up, a tray of tasty snacks on the end table beside her, Gav snuggled at her side on the couch, a good book to read, and an endless supply of hot tea.

Instead here she was bundled up so that only her navy blue eyes could be seen peeking out as she walked the distance from their manor to The Oracle office building. The Midwife had suggested she keep moderately exercising so she continued to walk between their home and the places she worked. It wasn't that far but she certainly didn't enjoy the cold weather out here which was why she was grumpy not to mention her swollen feet and now aching lower back. She would be sending for the carriage to return her home when she got finished she decided before she was halfway to her destination.

This was the female reporter that came across the small envelope on the doorstep to the office building and bent to pick it up with a muttered curse. Des pushed open the door to the welcome warmth of the building and sighed with delight as she began unwrapping herself. Her outter clothing was laid across the back of her chair and the envelope on her desk while she got herself some coffee.

It wasn't until after she had made herself comfortable and was nice and warm that she picked up what she had found and opened it then read it to herself. The more she read and the higher her brows rose. By the time she reached the end her head was tilted to one side and there was a truly puzzled expression on her face.

Without really realizing it she spoke outloud to herself. "Now why in tarnation would someone leave a letter on the doorstep of a newspaper office saying not to send any reporters when it is reporters that work in a newspaper office. Unless it is a trap of some kind and they really do want reporters to come so they can kill as many as they can lure into their whatever kind of place these here black hooded robed black magic practicing things are hidin' out. Now I know that this would be an awesome story if I can get in and get out without gettin' myself killed in the process. I've faced death plenty of times in the past and it ain't got me yet and I can always take reinforcements with me and maybe even probably overpower these here black magic users with some stuff that they ain't never seen before. Heck fire I deal with black magic users all the time in the Inn so that ain't nothing new even to me. Hmmm this is sounding more and more possible by the minute."

Des glanced up and looked around to see if any of the other reporters were at their desks today. "Y'all! We got us a job to do!"
