Early morning, July 31st..

There was a massive rush of relief and she murmured under breath. He was alive. She wanted to fuss at him for scaring her like that. Really! What could she really say but apologize again. Which she did. A number of times. Her eyes trailed from him and towards the colorful display some odd space away. There was a twist in her stomach. Such a display..Surely Phantas had made it away. Mayu.. Think..Positive.. Phantas hadn't really given her reason to trust her in the first place but she felt darn guilty for not. Swallowing nervously she clenched her eyes closed. Phantas made it away. She had to. Mayu was okay. Toby was okay. Everything..was okay. Positive thinking. She could do it! Sniffing she looked back to Toby and her brows started to knit. "You look awful.."

?K-Ka..Katt.. You..you have to..l-let..let go.. On..stomach.. My.. Please.. It..? His face scrunched up, he tried not to laugh..really.. Tears came right afterward, he sucked in a shuddering breath. ?My..b-back.. It hu-hurts..?

"S-Sorry!" She squeaked out, suddenly remembering things. Shaking her head she quickly nudged him onto his side and eventually his stomach. The cloak was yanked off and rolled up slightly in order to act like some cushion. She looked over his back and her whole body tensed. "Oh god..what..has he done to you.."

?Ngh..geh..? He wheezed pitifully throughout it. He guessed..he still had enough energy to sound like it hurt as much as it did.. There were chains all over him, knives buried and hidden somewhere in his chest. Ribs broken..something was probably punctured.. But laying on all of that felt so much better..then resting on his other side which had little to no flesh. His fingers curled weakly into the cloak she had set down. He leaned his forehead against it..and cried.

Her chest clenched and she blinked away a few tears that threatened to blur her vision. Damn Tylor for getting rid of the elixir. And the new moon was too far away. A hand reached out, trembling fingers touching his hair for a moment in attempt to sooth him. She found herself concerned if she'd have enough strength to heal such wounds. She blinked and turned her head. She could take him to the church. Sister Matilda..she..would help? She had to! But...that required to move him again. "Shhh. It's okay. You are safe now. I'm going to get you all fixed up. P-Promise.." She glared at some of the chains that spied out from under flesh. She hoped whatever Phantas did..hurt Tylor..a lot!

His hands curled harder..pain rocketing up into his shoulders, spreading out everywhere. He flinched at the touch to his hair..expecting it to hurt a lot worse than it did, sniffing..swallowing. He was reminded of everything else when he tried to take a deep breath. His teeth grit as his body strained against the tight bindings. He had no idea what to say..he wetted his lips the best he could. ?What ab-bout..y-you.. You g-got..she stabbed..y-you..?

"Y-You ..don't hate me right.." Remembering Tylor's words made her hand retreat. He wasn't mad at her right? He reminded her of her own wound and her eyes lowered to the dark spot. It..didn't matter. She shook her head quietly. ?Don't worry about that. Your leg? It's broken?" She asked as she scooted down to said leg. She had noticed the limp but needed to know the extent of the damage.

?Ha.. Ha-*hate*..you.. Mmph..? He pushed to lift his head, turn it in her direction. His expression was groggy, but his eyes were narrowed in disbelief. ?The.. H-how..the..why..? Why would..I..?? He nodded at her question, looking down. The chains..felt weird.. Itchy.. Moving hurt..like always.. ?Yeah.. Probably..in a c-couple..places..?

"For taking so long.." She managed out. The damage..was too terrible. She wouldn't be able to heal all of him. Best she could do was mend a few of the wounds and ease his pain. "I am going to heal you a little..and then bring you to the church. I know you don't want any of my blood and there is no elixir..I can try to heal all of you if you rather.."

?Ah.. O-oh..? He shook his head. Why..after however long, with days filled with this..did he sudden just feel..normal.. Like he could forget..like it wasn't such a big deal.. ?N-no.. I couldn't ev-ver hate you.. And especial-ly..n-not..? His head shook again. ?The same th-thing..that you did for M-May..r-right..? No.. It looks a lot..w-worse..than it is..? He lied. ?I'm ok-kay.. But..the ch-chains.. Help me..g-get them out..??

"Yeah the same thing...And I am going to do it regardless of what you say. Just..not sure to what extent yet. I know it hurts. A lot..It's okay. You don't need to lie to me.." She didn't like that he did but she could understand why. Nodding slowly she started to check one of the connected chains, seeing if it was barbed or whatnot. Seeing what she had to work with.

?Katt, please.. Don't..don't make me w-watch you..d-do that.. I kn-know..it h-hurts.. But..it'd be w-worse..if I had to see it..hurting you.. Just..? He smothered his face into the cloak, drying it..sniffing as he forced his head to lift again. ?...please.. Don't..?

The only barbs were stuck in the dips of his shoulders, one in flesh that looked like a giant bite had been taken from it..two others in his hips, and the last two in his knees. The rest of the chain links, that were visible, though coated in crimson, looked like miniature saws..obviously sharp.

She didn't want him to cry any more. A sad look tugged her lips, thankful that the hood was still drawn to hide her face. "Then please..take some of my blood?" She scowled at the chains and started to carefully remove them. She flinched at the sharpness that bit into her fingertips as she worked them free. The barbs were a little more difficult but also were pulled free from him. It was hard to pinch and move what little skin they didn't eat at. It made her feel so horribly guilty.

?Blood.. Mmph..? It was easy, something that she could do.. If she had another option, she'd use it.. He'd rather just..heal himself.. He leaned his forehead into the cloak..painfully stretching his arms out, as much of his legs as he could. He'd..have to get up at some point..for her to get the ones wrapping around his torso..

?L-later.. We h-have to..get everything..o-out.. The chains..f-first, then.. Yeah..?

She nodded silently. She could bring him to the church but there was no way of knowing if they would actually help. The barbs at his shoulders and hips were carefully removed and the chains slowly but surely were worked free. She was far too quiet. Sulking really. His back..brought back a load of memories.

Quiet..except for his short grunts and cries when things came free from parts of his body that were messed up too much. Fresh blood flowed, filling in the holes the chains left, spilling..streaking his already dirtied skin. His teeth clenched, he breathed shallowly through them.

She wanted to apologize but what would be the point? It..needed to be done. It was obvious by now she didn't like hurting him. Painfully she looked at his back and flinched. "I..need to roll you over.."

?R-..? He huffed, whimpering..waiting for that wave of pain to pass. ?Mmph.. Roll.. C-can't I..j-just..sit up.. I can..I can do..th-that..? He drew his arms in slowly, pushing his palms into the roof of wherever they were. It was so much easier to move..now. He lifted..one inch..two..five..before his body convulsed. He coughed, spitting angrily. Blood.. And he had to drink some later.. ?Th-there's..things..in my ch-chest..too..?

"Sit.." Could he do it? She blinked and reached out to steady him but didn't urge him to lay back down or sit up more. Only to help make sure he didn't go face first splat. Eyes closed and she swallowed. He was spitting up blood. That..wasn't good. They batted back open and she attempted to look at his chest. Things.."Inside..?"

?Knives..? He spat out another wad of gore, sighing a long breath..kept pushing. He had to save energy..to flip over.. Slowly but surely..he got to his hands and knees, his left leg still bent in ways that it shouldn't be, straining. His face was tight. He pitched around, dropping onto the roof on his rear..holding onto whatever he could to keep from falling back. ?Ow..? He sniffed. ?Kn-knives.. At l-least..three.. There c-could..be more.. At..least..they didn't b-break my b-back..right..??

Fingers struggled with wanting to clench him. Hold him. Now wasn't the time. Looking at his chest she attempted to figure out how to even start to take them out. For now she worked at finishing the removal of those stupid chains. "Yeah.." There was that at least. But it left her concerned how much Tylor did break. Not just..physically.

?How.. How long ago..?? His hands clenched together for a moment..but he started forcing them to move..pulling at the little bladed chain links like she was, his fingers ghosting over the several lacerations across his chest..searching.. How had he survived all of this.. Maybe he hadn't, and he'd just.. ?We're..not.. We're not..d-dead, are we..??

She blinked a little. Dead.. She shook her head slowly and tilted her head enough so that her eyes could find him. There was no doubt she had been crying but there were multiple reasons and all good ones. "A-About..10 days?" Her eyes lowered away again as she tossed away the last of the chains then reached forward. Fingers skimmed his chest for abnormal rises that would help her find the daggers. Removing them was going to be interesting.

"Ok-kay good.. 'C-cause..if.." He found one, right under his left collarbone. His teeth grit..he took a deep breath and held it, fingers spreading the cut so he could dig in..pinch the very hilt of the knife and draw it out of himself enough to get a better hold. Then he tore it free with a pained grunt. It clattered out of his shaking hand. "I-i-if..we we-were..and it hurts like th-this.. That'd..just..s-suck.." His hand dropped to a cut that was too close to the left side of his chest. Really.. How..had he not died..? "Ten.. Sh*t.."

"But at least I am here?" Alternative and an attempt to rise his spirits even if her own dropped upon seeing him draw out the dagger. She shuddered and drew her hand back. She..remembered those. "Thank you .." It was meekly said and her eyes started to water again.

"Thank.." Maybe his head was messed up.. His hand left his chest, he pawed gently at his hair, finding bumps..on unnatural crater.. "What..are you thanking me for.. I didn't..do anything.. R-really.. I didn't..this time.."

"Yo..You didn't.." Her lips pressed together tightly then relaxed. "You didn't die. You waited..heh..l..like you said..S-So ..thank you." She nodded a few times and glanced to his leg. He needed her blood..right? Reaching behind her she pulled the familiar dagger from it's place. She hadn't remembered tucking it away but there it was. Some part of her must of remembered. It was tucked at her side for now. Biding time to when the last of the daggers he was working at were out.

"Oh.." He grinned, the first real smile he'd made in..apparently ten days. It split his lips, but the rest of him was hurting a lot worse.. He could deal with that.. "Y-yeah.. You.." His fingers dug into a long cut on the left side of his stomach..next to a gorey, fist sized wound that was half healed, half bruise. His fingers dug in, searched..his head dropping to his collarbones. He could..do it.. "Y-you..b-believe..m-me.. Guh.." He shuddered, drawing the knife from him..dropping it..started searching for another.

"Of course..You.. You wouldn't leave me. You said so yourself. So of course I believe you." She glanced at the knife, covered in his vital. Her brows began to knit something fierce. Homecoming gift. She scoffed quietly and lowered her eyes. "I would of came sooner but it was hard to find you.." Her head dipped low as if shamed by it.

"You believe me.." His hands paused. He had only found two more..the one near his heart, another in his right ribs. They were busted, that was going to be interesting.. He lifted his head, peering at her..just finally realzing she had a hood on. He forgot about himself for a moment, reaching for her instead..pushing softly at the hood to get it to move back enough..so he could see.

She almost flinched. She wasn't quite sure what she was expecting. She felt the deep hood fall back, following her hair until it massed between her shoulderblades. Slightly confused she drew her eyes up to his face. This meant, of course, she couldn't hide the fact that she had been crying. "Wh-Why..do you sound surprised?"

"Because I am.." He knew he looked like he'd seen several better days, and suddenly felt like..he wanted to hide.. That was different.. He usually..didn't care how he looked, no matter who saw him. He frowned sadly, tracing the outline of her face without touching her. "You trusted me that..m-much.. Even though you knew..and.. Maybe..even before..th-that..? 'Cause..I didn't..l-leave you anything.."

She didn't like that sad look. It made her feel like she did something wrong! She smiled oh so meekly. "I didn't think you left. I..sorta thought you just forgot or was really excited or was playing a game..I ..know you wouldn't just leave me forever. Y-You said so. I just..like the notes because they are cute and make it easier to find you. B-But yeah.." She glanced down from him. "I believe you..I trust you. I've always..trusted you."

His brow knitted until it ached. He'd already cried enough..for all those days, he didn't want to start doing it again. He pursed his trembling mouth, shook his head softly. "The..n-notes.. That's how I let you know..where I am.. You..heh.." He smiled, lowered his head..drawing his hand back. He had two knives to pull out still.. He started with the one in his ribs..or tried to.. "...you believe me.. I'm glad.."

Her eyes closed. He didn't..touch her. Her head dipped low and she clasped her hands into her lap. "I missed you though..And hated that..T-Tylor seemed to be...pulling away everything that connected me to you." Her hands clenched tightly and she quietly sniffed.

"Y-yeah..th-that's.. Ungh.." He breathed, clenched his free hand..his fingers digging into his side. He tried and failed to get a hold.. "Th-that's..wh-what..he s-said.. He f-f-forgot..s-something.." His face scrunched up on the last syllable, shoulders hunching..shuddering through a sob that he didn't let out of his throat. The knife dropped, caked with blood..onto the roof. He sagged forward in relief. "Guh.."

Her eyes clenched even tighter, until it hurt. Hearing it was almost as worse as seeing it. Turning her head one way then the other she tried to shake away the rattle that it left. Slowly her eyes opened and she looked at him confusedly. "Forgot..something..." If he said his heart she was going to scold him. She was GLAD Tylor forgot that if it was the case!

"Ah.. F*ck..that h-hurts.." He snorted, laughing weakly. His hand traveled up to his chest, over his heart..feeling at one of the deeper cuts there. "Yeah..the..b-bracelet..you gave me.."

"Probably better you are removing them rather then I." She smiled all the more faintly. Seeing his hand travel over his heart she feared what he was going to say but at his words she blinked. Bracelet? There was a number of blinks that followed. The brooch. "I..yeah..I don't think he was aware that I gave that to you though. That.." Her eyes drifted down and she smiled a bit more this time. "That was a long time ago.."

"Yeah.. I didn't know what he was..doing.. I couldn't do anything..when he took them.." He shook his head, prying at the spot on his chest..tightening his torso..leaning forward. If he pushed too hard with this one.. "He..f-forgot it though.. Heh.. You'd th-think..he'd know.. Mmph.."

"So..a little piece of me got to stay with you..T-That's..good.." She watched him lean forward, concern starting to rise. "He ..brought everything to me. I might of..thought something else if it hadn't of been for your blood.."

"Yeah, he..uh.." She knew it was bad already.. But still.. His fingers pressed into the wound, tearing skin apart. He bit down on the inside of his bottom lip, shook his hand free of blood..tried again. "I didn't know..why he wanted them.. I thought he'd..get rid of th-them or something.. It hurt the most..when he took the..r-ring.."

She figured he meant the earring. Yeah..someone tearing that from your ear was bound to hurt. "He wanted them..to hurt me. To let me know that he had you..uh..D..Do you want me to help?"

He nodded sluggishly, his hand falling away from his chest. "I c-can't..get at it.. It's not that deep but..it's close to my h-heart.. My hands..aren't sm-small enough.."

How was he going to wear the earring now? She ..guess it really wasn't that important. Nodding slowly she shifted closer to him and she reached out to where he seemed to be digging at. Fingers probed at the wound before pressing inward until she felt the knife. Too close to his heart. That..made her nervous.

"It's..it's alright.." She was being nicer than he was.. The corners of his mouth twitched. He laid his hands against the roof, his head hanging. "Don't..worry about h-hurting me.. I'm already th-there.." Snorting.

She grunted quietly and stopped, her eyes shifting up to him as if to tell him that hadn't been funny. Lowering her eyes back to the wound she bit her lower lip and scissored her fingers outward from the knife then pushed in some more until she was able to press her fingers back against the knife without pushing it deeper. Fingers curled and she tugged at it quickly, withdrawing it in a single motion.

"Hungh..! Ah.." He leaned too far to one side, then the other..as blood pooled and began spilling out of the fresh hole. That must have been the one..that got pushed in too far. His chest..felt better.. He inhaled deeply, until he couldn't anymore..sighing. His mouth worked around..he spat blood weakly aside. "Th-thanks.."

She tossed the dagger aside then settled her hand back to her lap with a little nod. She was staring at the hole in his chest now. She didn't like it. He ..didn't deserve any of this. His back..Her brows furrowed and she glanced to her hands. "He had been watching..a lot. He knew..things.."

"I noticed.. He kept s-saying my f*cking name.." The annoyance made him forget just how much he was bleeding, or how dizzy he was.. His shaky hand lifted, pressing up against the hole..applying pressure. Using yoki.. The idea made him sick, he didn't know why.. He could just be too tired..to do it.

Which made her worry franically to if their home was a safe place to be or not. She wanted to think so..She began to fidget. She felt a new fear start to rise. Did that mean her saying it wouldn't be like it had been. Shaking her head she reached up and quickly removed the hood, balling it up and swatting his hand away in order to press it to the wound.

"Ah.. Hey.. Oh.." He wiggled his hand weakly, grinning..watching his palm..slicked with fresh blood. It was..standing out really well. "Holy sh*t.." He hadn't seen himself.. He hadn't wanted to look. The shape of his left leg made him sick. There were too many cuts to count just on his legs..the hole in his stomach looked angry. His arms were striped with holes from the chains. Red and purple blood was smeared like paint..he could barely tell the color of his own skin. His eyes closed tightly. He didn't want to see anymore..

"Told you. You look rough." She sighed. All because of her. Tylor had all but told her such. As a home warming gift. "You need to heal..so please..." She wasn't going to give up on trying to give him her blood. He had spilled so much ..because of her. And he wasn't using his yoki. Was probably far too tired.

"Heal.. Su-sure.. My.." He licked his lips. He didn't want to say it, but they couldn't..keep putting it off.. It was only in one spot..that his thigh needed fixing.. The rest could be held.. "One more thing.. I can't..do it, my leg.. S-..uh.. It needs..to be straightened.."

"I know.." It was stated simply as if she had known and was going to get to it. "But once it's done you promise..right?" Her eyes swept up to his face. She wanted to touch him but not in a way that would hurt. That seemed totally impossible now..

"Yes.." He didn't want to say it. He'd eaten enough blood and guts. But she didn't..really need to know the last part.. He nodded weakly. He didn't want to do this.. But his leg wouldn't be normal if he didn't.. He was surprised it hadn't been dislocated either. "I promise.."

She nodded and moved a bit, her hands moving out to his leg, working it straight while trying to assess where it was broken. She blinked and smirked a little as her hands clamped strongly to his knee. "Good grief you wear more clothes when you walk around the room in shorts."

"Guh.." It was going to hurt, probably more than it had when it was busted.. Because now it *was* busted.. He hated his body.. He managed a dreadfully weak smile at her..wrapping his right arm around himself. His fingers dug into the dip of his shoulder. He hunkered down, waiting..

"Uh..I've been meaning to ask.." Her eyes became really..really focused on his knee. "When we were suppose to meet at the island..Were you naked on purpose?"

Was she..trying to distract him.. He smiled a little more. "You're sweet.. But..no.. Well.. N-not.. Heh.. I don't..rem-member.. I don't think s-so.."

"Uh..huh.." She was struggling with not blushing. "Yeah see that doesn't make me believe that all too much." She teasingly clicked her tongue at him. He was right though. She was attempting to distract him because tensing up when she was about to set it would of been very bad. Without warning she yanked hard to reset the bone into place. She expected there would be screaming to follow so she braced herself.

It took a moment..for the pain to explode and travel. He screamed through his clenched teeth, leaning over..not caring that there was a pile of chains there. It wasn't going away.. It wasn't getting any better. His mouth opened wide..he wailed, sucked in a breath..did it again, panted..trying to get his breathing back under control. He couldn't stop crying now if he tried.

Her brows furrowed and she looked up to his face. She couldn't comfort him. If she tried to touch him then..She moved away and slipped up along his side, pulling the dagger up from it's place. It....would help ease the pain. She bit her lip and tilted the blade a bit and stopped. After a moment she pressed the dagger to her neck and pierced the very tip of the blade into her skin. There was a reason for picking her neck. Her nose wrinkled as she dragged the dagger to make the wound a bit wider.

He didn't know how he kept forgetting.. He tried to move his leg, and while it did, it sent a new wave of pain lancing throughout him. It was a different sort..he didn't know why.. Maybe..it was because of why it was done.. It wasn't something he'd gotten just from being beaten..it was deliberate in a different way.. His eyes closed, he hid his face in his hands.

Lowering the dagger she reached over, knuckles brushing his temple gently. Fingers pressed, attempting to work between his hand and face. "Toby.."

"Ngh.." He shuddered..he heard the chains under him. No wonder he felt itchy.. "Wh-what.." He sniffed, said it through grit teeth. His hands tensed for a moment, another flinch, before he let her draw them away.

"You promised. And it will help with the pain. Please.." Her fingers slipped across his hands, attempting to draw his attention to her. She could feel the vital spilling down the side of her neck. That was okay..

"P-promised.." He blinked moisture out of his eyes, staring up..his breathing already hitched and shaky. "Why..wh-why your neck.." He shifted, grimacing..keeping as much of his back off of the chains as he could. He wasn't sure if he could sit back up. Leaning over was a really bad idea..

She shifted and pushed the cloak around. "So I can hold you." She wanted to offer that bit of safety while he did what he promised. She had thought about laying down and making him do the same so it would be less pressure. She scooted closer to him and gently lowered her hands. "After you've healed some. It's a closeness type thing.." And he needed it.

"Oh.." He nodded groggily, shifting his hand..pushing it into the roof. His arm shook..the other swiping out angrily at the pile of chains, not caring that he'd sliced the back of his hand wide open. He grunted with the effort..his eyes flicking up to her neck. "Right.."

She watched and realized he was sitting on chains. Silly! Reaching out she nudged them with the knife, pulling and sliding them away. "I was going to say we could lay down..Because I don't think either of us are going to be going anywhere for a bit..That way you didn't have to move so much. And you can lay against me on your stomach..I can be your pillow.."

"Yeah.. It's..it's okay.. I need to g-get..used to..m-moving.. On my own.. We can..afterw-ward.. When.." He snorted softly, sniffed..pushed his hand up against his eyes even though it didn't help to clean them whatsoever. "After I do..'cause th-then..I know I d-did it..before I passed out.."

"Stop stalling." She grinned a little at him and then squinted. "Oh wait..you don't like how I taste right?" Her hand moved up to cover the wound. Yeah she was teasing him if only a little. It..was okay to ..right? She wanted to cheer him up..if only..a tiny bit.

He smiled, shook his head softly..motioning for her to get closer, move her hand. "Yeah.. That ex-xactly why.." He knew..she wanted to help.. Teasing was one of the simple things she could do.. He could let it go.

"Uh huh! See you are studdering." She moved her hand as if to give motion to him 'ah ha!'. Her hand slacked a bit and she reached out softly to his cheek as she inched closer. If anything it was apologetic.

His face tightened, he tried his best not to flinch a third time. She didn't want to hurt him, he knew that.. He was just..weird.. The last time he did this..he didn't even know who or what the guts came from. He had to do it though..he promised.. "Thanks.." His hand lifted, resting heavily on her shoulder and neck. He just sat, his face hovering over the wound. He could smell it..he wasn't sure if the scent of blood would ever get out of his nose.. He gulped, before opening his mouth to the wound, latching onto her skin. He remembered this.. Except this time, there was actually blood.. He suckled sharply, hating the taste that filled his mouth..but stayed there anyway.

Yeah seeing his features tighten up she didn't dare touch him. Instead she leaned forward, head tilted to offer her neck. For now she didn't touch him. It was ..strange..feeling his lips there again. Even if there was a pleasing little tingle, she stomped that down before it grew any. But to have him actually drawing blood. It was a new sensation all together.

The more he sat there, the more a new smell was entering his nose. Flowers.. It was different, a little jarring. Her hair..? He gulped the mouthful he had taken, started taking another long, deep pull. It was real.. They weren't dead, it was..actually over.. And he'd lived.. He was still surprised. His body just wouldn't let him give up.

It really was odd to feel someone draining her. There was a minor shiver and she tilted her eyes to the sky. It was morning. He was safe..Was home..safe? Was things safe? Her hands moved up then fell back down when she realized she couldn't touch him. It was an ache she didn't enjoy.

It had taken four pulls last time..to just close a surface wound. But he was on his third deep one.. He hated that he was getting energy from this, but he could feel the slightest of cuts closing up. The ones on the back of his hand, some that were sustained when he'd smashed into the ground. Some of the little ones left by the chains began to close. His ear felt better.. He drained one last mouthful, gulping it down..pressing the flat of his tongue to the slice in her neck. Then he started drawing away.

"Don't..." She managed to warn, both hands rising to touch his knees. There was no way that little could heal those masses. "Y..You..let me..to that point. You can take more. You.." He could take it all. She didn't care! Her hands pushed from his knees, seeking to find his arms. "Please...."

He smiled softly..hesitating, but pressed a kiss to her throat..catching a drop of blood on his bottom lip. He could ignore the stinging everywhere she touched him.. "Alright.. But..not until that point.. If I do, and you're tired..we'll both be usel-less.."

That made her eyes water and she stared more up at the sky. She was already useless..If in doing this..she could help that was all that mattered. "To that point. I want you..to be better..."

"Katt.. Blood doesn't help me..that much.." He licked his lips slowly, his fingers softly curving around her neck. It had been ten days..since he'd felt this.. Was that really it..? "You still want me to try, don't you.."

She forbid the tears to fall. To sniff. "Yes. It's the only way I can help you. Even if it doesn't help as much as I want it to at least..I..I tried..." Her voice quivered with her struggle.

"How am I supposed to know..when to stop.." He shook his head a little. He couldn't really hug her.. He was surprised that he wanted to. The thought didn't last long. "What if..until I can start to do it myself.."

"I'll tell you.." She murmured and after that fell into a very weird silence. That one word bounced in her head so many times. In the end..she wasn't even the one who really saved him..

He sighed softly, his fingers rubbing small circles against her neck. He was surprised, too, that he could do it..as soft as he was.. For the longest time, he felt that if he had to touch something, it had to be hard..and it had to hurt.. "I.." He was supposed to trust her.. Why did he feel like this was the last time he'd ever see her alive. He sniffed, gulping..leaned his head to rest on her shoulder. He couldn't think things..like that.. He'd panic..like he was now.. He'd lost count of how many times..

She swallowed feeling the circles. Her eyes clenched closed so hard and fast that tears shot down her cheeks with force. She made her face relax. "(vsw) It's okay. Really. I want to.." I'm not..worthless. I'm not.. It was a silent chant. She could help him! She could..do something.

"I know you do.." The words came out tightly, in a rush..his mouth closing afterward. His brow pressed into her shoulder, he held his breath. She was here..she was fine..sort of.. Don't think about her wounds.. "I know.."

"Please.." That single word squeezed out as if it was a strain to do so. If her blood didn't help then she at least..tried. That was what mattered? "I..." Her lips sealed almost as tight as her eyes. She just..went silent. He didn't want to. She wasn't going to force him.

"Yeah.." He huffed a single, slow sigh. He felt tired..that was only to be expected. He didn't know what she was going to say next..but he didn't want to have that be the last thing *he* said.. He lifted his head, dragging the tip of his tongue across a half dried red river of red. "...I love you, too.." He latched onto her skin for the second time, pressing hard against her neck. His jaw hurt when he took his fifth pull..

She shuddered lightly, trying not to focus on how that felt. Her features relaxed swiftly when she felt his lips once again at the wound. He would.. She smiled sadly to the sky. She could do..something..Maybe.. He..loved her too. Her eyes fell closed, shutting the world away in darkness.

He could do more than this..to make her feel better. He didn't like feeling like he couldn't do anything.. He didn't want to watch someone else feel the same way..especially not her. He swallowed, started on the sixth pull..drew his other arm carefully around her back. He hurt..she probably did too.. It was nice..to do this.. He still wanted to talk.. He missed the ring..

She wasn't sure if she wanted to be touched yet. After all he was probably still hurting. She..wasn't able to hug him back, right? Her hands slowly lowered from his arms and she leaned carefully into his arms. "I d-do..l..love you.."

He hummed against her neck, nodding..swallowed..started on another pull. It could..be his last one.. Some of the deepest cuts didn't sting anymore.. His eyes narrowed, he tried to coax his yoki to start burning. He needed to start trying to do it himself..

Her head felt heavy and it dipped slowly towards him. She could..a little longer. There was a blissful, heavy warmth that she could of fell asleep in. She fought against it. "Hhh.."

He gulped, pulling his mouth from her neck..at the same time he felt the stinging burn in his eyes and chest. He could keep it at ten. He was tired, but he didn't want to sleep.. Every time he did, something else happened. "I know you do.. And now you don't have to worry about me..anymore.."

There was a shaken release of breath when he pulled away and her eyes opened, quickly turning to him. Almost as if she was making sure..he was still there. Her eyes were dulled, lacklustered. "D-don't..have to worry..about you anymore..?"

"Yeah.." He grinned, his face and golden eyes soft under all the blood. He turned to look behind him..sluggishly reaching out for the cloak she'd given him as a pillow before. He wadded it up with his hand, held it gently against the side of her neck. "I'll be fine.."

She was bleeding out her gut and back. The neck was hardly the most of her worries but she didn't want to tell him that. She smiled faintly and pressed the cloak up more to her neck. "I..want you to..b..be fine..so I can..hug you..or at least..h..hold you.."

He blinked at her..then nodded slowly, looking down at their nearly combined laps. His head tilted. She'd gotten hurt too.. "Yeah.. You too..you know..?" He held his breath, his eyes closing. The simple stab wounds..his ribs.. They were started to feel better.. He shifted, turning to face forward. He had to make sure his leg was straight..

"It's..nothing I can't handle." War wound..hehe..yeah. It wouldn't of been so bad if she hadn't been footballed so hard. Her hand lowered to her stomach. It was sore..hurt like hell. "When you feel it..we should move inside some place.."

"Yeah.." He should be watching her, taking advantage of all the time he had.. He still felt like it was running out..for some reason.. He wasn't sure if he was expecting Tylor to come back. His hands dropped to his leg, he grunted..wincing..as he straightened it further, rested his right leg right next to it. Now..if only he could lay down..

"Hh.." She felt tired. She shouldn't be feeling such just yet should she? Chewing on her bottom lip she lowered her eyes to his legs then away. Tugging the cloak free she started to work it around her center like a thick belt. "H-How..d..do you feel?"

"Sh*tty.." He snorted softly, smiling..but shook his head. "But..better.. Untying me, pulling everything out.. Those knives.. They've been there for a while.. I feel like..I dreamed it.."

She chuckled a bit and leaned forward to place a kiss to his cheek, near his lips but not. His face may of been dirty but that didn't matter to her. "I hope..i..it...all..goes away..l..like a bad dream.."

His brow furrowed softly. She wanted to..and wanted to try and help him.. His head turned a little to look at her, the corners of his mouth slowly turning up. "Yeah.."

A sluggish smile was offered to him. He shouldn't be so surprised she wanted to help him. Nodding she sat back and her head dipped down. She ..didn't know what to do now..

You're not okay either, are you.." He figured he was okay with healing for now. All the little cuts, he knew they weren't fixed..but they didn't hurt anymore.. Most of the big ones.. He could think about all that later..

"Just tired." A little lie. She wasn't that worried about bleeding out. She had worse wounds before. "I don't..like seeing you like this. I just..I.." Her eyes closed and she shook her head. Leaning to the side she thought that laying down was okay. But..then again she didn't like the idea of baking in the sun either..

"Yeah.." He smiled briefly..nodding. "It's okay..now..though.. At least for a while.. I'm sorry.. I kinda don't like you seeing me like this either.."

"I just..w..wish I could do something more. So I wasn't so damn freakin.." She stopped herself and pushed up to her feet. She was unstable at first but after a few stumbling steps she was able to walk straight. Making her way to the edge she judged where they were. Maybe they could just..hanker down inside. Not the first time they slept in a dusty place right?

"I know it doesn't help..and it's really only something to say to try and make myself feel like *I* tried..but.." He blinked, looking up at her as she stood. She was..leaving..? No.. Why did his mind go there.. "...you're here, and you're safe.. I worried about that for ten days.. Knowing it for certain now..it helps a lot more than you think it does.."

"Like you tried..?" Her eyes rose and turned towards him. He..worried about that..for ten days..About her..being safe. From Tylor..

"Like I tried to help make you feel better..even though there's nothing I can really say.." He smiled sadly..stretching his neck. The hole in his gut and shoulder..were starting to numb. That was so much better.. "I know that..when you feel like you can't do anything..nothing helps make that better.. Unless you *know* you actually did something.."

Her head lowered and she looked to the ground below. It made it easier to hide her face. "I..." Hated being so worthless... "Yeah.." She waited till it passed before turning to him. "We can probably just move inside this building. I ..doubt they have anything nice like the bed at home but..it would be out of the sun."

"Even if they did, it'd hurt still.."He snickered softly, testing his right leg. He could move it a lot easier.. He didn't even want to try his left. How in the hell was he supposed to get over there.. "Sun would suck.."

She moved over to him and offered her hand out to him. "Here. I'll carry you again. Least it's something I can do." She just wouldn't be able to get far.

"Carry.. How high up are we..?" He glanced around him. He wasn't missing anything. His right hand reached slowly for hers, like he was unsure.

"High.." Her fingers curled softly to his hand and she leaned forward. Attempting to pull him up so he was leaning against her, arm over her shoulder. "You are still badly hurt so I'll try to be careful."

"It's not that bad.." Though he groaned as he got to his feet, leaning heavily against her while his head caught up to what his body was doing. "It.. It's..n-not.. I'm..s-sorry.. I can't release it any f-faster.."

"No. You take your time healing. I just wanted you to know I am not going to ..you know.." She sighed and attempted to find a place against his back that she could cradle. Thinking back to his wounds made her sigh. There was no place. Maybe she could just..make a hole in the roof and jump down in it with him..

"How high is..high.." He hopped, keeping his left leg off of the roof, peering wearily at all the buildings around them..trying to find the ground. Maybe being in the sun wasn't so bad.. His head shook. "It's fine.. Whatever will happen..won't be any worse than what's *already* happened.. We can just..jump down.."

"About five floors worth of building between us and the ground. I can maybe make a hole in the ceiling and we can jump inside?" She looked up at him with a weak smile.

"Five.." He groaned, brought his free hand up to his face..gently slapping his forehead. "How much would it take for you to do that.. It wouldn't be hard..right..?"

"No..it wouldn't be hard." Partly true. "Can you stand on your own?" She tilted her head to look at him.

"If you hurt yourself, I'm gonna swat you.." He poked weakly at her shoulder as his arm dropped away from her, swaying..dead weight. His knee buckled..he thought balancing thoughts, and somehow didn't topple over. For now..

"If I hurt myself it doesn't matter.." She moved away a bit from him and inhaled slowly curled her hand. Her hand swung back then forward, bending at the waist to slam her fist into the roof. It hurt, pain rattling up to her shoulder. The roof gave in though and she actually dropped down with the roof as it broke inward. Somewhere below he'd hear her go 'oh ..opps.'.

He blinked..gulping. He didn't think too much about it, scratching roughly at his face with his fingers. He wasn't going to cry again. He peered curiously at the hole, biting down on his lip. He didn't want to say anything, or ask.. He could do it..on his own. He hobbled in that direction, barely touching his left leg down. It screamed in pain when he put weight on it. He thought he was going to break his jaw with how much it was clenched. As he got to the border of the hole, he lowered himself down on its edge. One leg straight, the other bent..and shoved off before he could even think about waiting. His stomach surged up into his chest as he dropped.

She landed roughly but landed none the less. Scratching the back of her head she grumbled. Her legs hurt now. She hadn't meant to do that. Tilting her head up she started to call up to him only to find. SPLAT! "Umph!" Well ..Toby got a squishy landing. She was flat on her stomach now. Blink. What just hit her? "Hhh..?"

"Ngh.. O-ow.." He'd landed on something that hadn't hurt too much.. He had to get off of it..it didn't feel right.. He kept muttering that same word, inching sloppily off of her, then tipping onto his side. He figured he had only seemed fine because he wasn't moving. His hands curled into tight fists, he fought to straighten his leg again. "I'm s-s-sorry.."

Her back rang in pain. It screamed and vibrated throughout her. She laughed. Quietly. "Heheheh..Softened landing?" Her head tilted to peek up at him and despite the pain she managed to sit up and smile to him. "You shouldn't of did that. You are hurt enough." And this came with some very light scolding.

"If I d-didn't..I'd still be up th-there..scared to j-jump.. I h-had to.. And it's n-not.. ::He eased onto his stomach. He didn't want to move anymore.. The stupid collapsed roof was just fine. "...it's not like..you're *not*..hu-hurt.."

"I would of came back up for you silly.." Her arm stretched out but she stopped herself. It flopped as she laid onto her back next to him and she just watched him. He was alive. Her eyes started to water and she quickly looked up.

"Yeah, well.. I'm already in the h-hole..so.." He snorted, slowly blinking his still golden eyes. He hated yoki..what it gave people, what they thought they could do with it.. He hated that he needed it.. He hated that he was being poked with a piece of the roof in a place that wasn't too comfortable.. "Where..is all the stuff he g-gave you.."

She wondered if that was suppose to be a joke. She snorted quietly too. "I have them with me..I cl-cleaned it all. But..the vial he gave me. It's ..empty.."

"I miss them.. The ring..mostly.. We can..fix my earring at some..p-point.." He smiled, welcoming the nice numbness that came with his arms starting to fall asleep. "That's okay.. I would've..wanted you to use it inst-stead..anyway.."

"I'm fine...Just..tired.." Still bleeding but that would stop eventually. Her eyes closed then slowly opened. The ring.. Moving her hands she slowly worked his ring from her own finger and she rolled onto her side. Reaching for his hand she softly slipped it onto his forefinger. He could move it when he was ready. "H..Here.."

He grinned a little more at the faint, but familiar, feeling. His thumb touched the ring, scratching at it. "Yes.." His eyes shifted to watch her over his bloody arm. "Thanks..

"Y-yeah.." She flopped back onto her back and closed her eyes. She could finally rest. He was safe. "Hhh..You..n..need..to get b-better.."

"I will.. Don't..don't worry about me.. I'm apparently..a lot tougher than I look.." He snorted, relaxing..resting his head against the roof pieces underneath him. "I'll be okay.."

He was..really too far away. Her hand shifted, attempting to blindly find his hand. "You..can lay on my s-shoulder if it would make you comfortable.." She just..wanted his hand really.

"I know.. Moving right n-now..though.." He leaned a little to the side, grunting a couple times..his arm sliding awkwardly over hers..his fingers touching her palm. "I'm still..h-here.."

Still here..She sniffed softly and her fingers curled to her palm and around his fingers. "Still..here.." It was okay to cry..just a little..

"Yeah.. I'm still here.. It's okay.." He smiled sadly, shoving his other arm around, trying to reach her hair. His curled fingers rested near the top of her head..his other hand tightening around hers, but not by much. He would probably cry too..if she said that.. He *had*.

She sobbed quietly and tilted her head up as if to press into his touch. She missed it. She didn't bother attempting to hide the tears or the fact she was crying. It was okay? "Really.."

"Yeah.." It was sad.. He was irritated last time when she told him not to worry.. And he'd already said that enough.. His thumb brushed back and forth over her hair, the most movement he could get out of himself. "I promise, r-right..? I told you..I'd f-find a way to wait.."

She sniffed quietly, slowly settling down. She didn't want to be sleepy. She needed to be alart. What if.. "Hhh..Y-Yeah..you..promised.." Tears continued to spill though silently. It felt suddenly like she was falling and her body jerked in respond.

He hadn't even known how he'd done it.. He wasn't sure questioning it was a good idea. Something could come along and just..kill him..because he wasn't thankful to still be here.. He jumped, flinching at her sudden movements, gulping as adrenaline started coursing through him. "It's alright.. I'll be fine.. You haven't slept at all ever since, have you.."

"A little..I tried. I really did..I was just..so..worried.." She sniffed a bit more. If she went to sleep then she couldn't be there with him. She..didn't want to now.

He nodded softly. If he wasn't hurt..he could do this better. His hand slowly drew hers over..he pressed a kiss between her knuckles. "I know.." He whispered against her hand..he didn't have to move her away just yet.. "I would've done the same thing.."

Her brows knitted with the effort and she forced her eyes open. He would of done the same thing. He probably had on one occasion or two. She wanted to hug him. Hold him. She needed something..anything to protect him better. She didn't like feeling so worthless. "Mrmm.."

He smiled sideways, his eyes tired, soft even though they were gold. He didn't know what they looked like beyond that.. "It's funny.. It was..sort of okay..when he was there with me.. 'Cause..that just meant he wasn't there with you..or May.. You were worried about m-me..I was worried about you.. Heh..weird peas.."

"Of course..I was worried ..about you..I knew he was hurting you. He brought..evidence.." Her head tilted, cheek resting against her shoulder. The heavy feeling turned into thudding that hurt her head. "You ..were worried about us.." She didn't say just her. Mayu. She would search her out once they were both better. She was with her new friend doing fun stuff. She had to be. She had to be safe. She had to believe that. "You..were worried..even though he was hurting you.."

"Yes.. If I just kept him focused on me.." He tried to shrug, but only managed a twitch that pained him..made his face tense up. "He started taking everything away.. I couldn't really let myself think too much about it.. I don't know why I'm talking about this, I guess..I just want you to know.."

"What.....i...if...he .." She didn't want to think about it. What ifs..sucked. "...killed you.." She whimpered weakly.

"Heh.." He smiled, not entirely sure how he was supposed to answer that.. "I.. I don't know.. He could have..several times.. He could've when he first took me.. He had..different plans..I guess.. Even then..I didn't let him.."

"Good.." She wasn't sure what she was saying good to. Her fingers squeezed at his weakly then relaxed, almost as if her hand had spazzed. "You..wa...waited.."

"Yeah.. I waited.." He figured she knew it was tough..and he didn't really want to admit to what amount. He blinked at her hand, touching his mouth to her knuckles again. "And you believed me.."

There was something warm against her knuckles. Breath..lips. They felt almost foreign. "You..seemed surprised..that it was ten days.."

"It seemed longer.. Seconds were years.. But on another hand..I didn't spend that much time awake either.. I don't think.." He frowned softly, trying to recall. A lot of it..seemed like it was gone from his head. "*Then*, things got worse.."

She didn't want to point out that is how it was like...when she was under the slaver's whip. It would of been valid but now was hardly the time. "I took..too long.." She frowned a bit.

"No..you didn't.. I'm not blaming you for any of it.. He said..he was pissed at me, that he was doing it for other reasons.." He grunted, watching a spot on his forearm fill in..and sew shut, leaving a slightly raised scar underneath the blood. He was..going to look weird.. "Tylor's a dick, though.."

She already knew why Tylor was doing it. "Because of me.." She sighed and slowly her body resumed it's slacking. "We..ne..need..to find a way..soon.."

"It doesn't matter why he was doing it.. The fact is that he *did* it, and he didn't get what he wanted.. And if you keep blaming yourself even though he's not here, it's like he's still winning.. So quit it.." He shifted his thumb, bumping it against the top of her head in soft pokes.

"But..it's true..He was hurting you..because of me. It was suppose to be some homecoming gift he said.." She whined at being poked. Her body was too heavy to move to stop it.

"Katt..what exactly are you wanting me to say when you tell me this..?" He kept poking..if only because the sound was..kind of cute.. His mouth twitched.

She whined a bit more. It was her fault. Her eyes clenched closed and eventually she sighed as if she had given in. She didn't say a word.

He sighed too, his hand dropping to the floor with a soft thud. "I don't blame you.. If you want to blame yourself for it.. I don't know.. The important thing is he didn't get what he wanted.. Any of it..he didn't get you, he didn't get what he wanted out of me.. And we're fine.."

"How..did he get you in the first place..?"

"Uh.." He blinked, peered at her. She was..asking questions..? She actually wanted to know.. He had a feeling it was only going to make the guilt thing worse. "He..came to the door.. And said he had a delivery or something.. He was..covered up.. I didn't know who it was until it was too late..to do anything about it.."

He would be wrong! She really just wanted to hear his voice. Her jaw did flex some and she sighed. How did he find out..probably really was following them. They needed..to find a way to be able to find each other. "Oh.."

"Yeah.. He's..a sneaky bastard.. I think the thing that irritated me the most..was my name.." He snickered..watching the rest of his arm. Most of the cuts had healed.. They must not have been as deep as he thought.. "He kept saying it.."

"It..bothers me too. He....noone but me is suppose to call you that..right?" Staying awake was growing harder and harder. She didn't want to!

He snorted. "Probably why he started doing it.. But..yeah.. It's just you..yours.. Hearing it from someone else, especially him..was disgusting.."

"I.." She whined a little. "I'm afraid to say it now. As if it's..been..tainted.." She pouted soon after.

"Tainted..? What..that I'll hate hearing it now.. Even from you..?" He smiled softly. He could..sort of see how she'd think that..

Her head dipped faintly. "Y-yes..I don't..I don't like that thought. I don't like.." That Tylor really did take something from them.

"That's..kinda cute.." He grinned a little more. She was..a lot braver than him.. He didn't think he would have even said anything..if it was switched. "Do you think I'd let him do that..?"

"Hhh?" She didn't quite understand the question. She managed an eye open and it rolled over to him. "Do..what? Taint it?" She chewed on her bottom lip.

"Yes.." He shook his head softly. "That's yours.. I'm not going to let him ruin it.. He's a dick, he's not allowed to ruin anything.. That's why you're not supposed to feel guilty either.."

She wasn't suppose to feel guilty. She inhaled slowly and released it. Be positive..Her hand relaxed within his. She was so..tired. He was..wearing his ring now. So..She could..right? She wanted to..but didn't. "I ..l..love you..T-Tobias.."

He blinked, then stared at her. It took a moment..and he got nervous..that she might have been worried about something that was true. He felt it, though..a little later..it was faint. He smiled softly..the more he thought about it, the wider it grew. "Heh.. I love you, too.."

Her dulled eye stared at him and was matched with a strangely relaxed, calm smile.

It was..probably just because of everything that happened. He didn't know how he was still awake, let alone alive.. If she said it..in a different sitation. He blinked again, chuckled weakly at himself..thankful for the caked blood for the first time. He felt a little warm.. "He's not allowed..to take anything away from us.. You've got to remember that.. I didn't let him the first time, and I'm not gonna let him now.."

Not allowed to take anything from them. Her eye drooped and she attempted to nod. It was a difficult task even for something so simple. "As long as you remember that too. I guess.." She was so..very tired. Her eye eventually closed and she sighed out. "I..am so very glad you are safe.."

"Sure.." He..sort of didn't know what she meant..but she looked too sleepy to answer. He didn't think he would sleep, though.. His eyes, flickering between golden cat's and their natural pale aqua, drifted down to her stomach. "Promise me..you'll wake up.."

It was a wonder that the shadow cloak hadn't stained into some crimson shade with the way it was wrapped around her mid-section. She didn't need to see where he was looking to know what he was commenting about and it wasn't her neck. Promise him. She wasn't sure enough to be able to. "Don't worry. It's not as bad as it looks.."

He blinked, hid his face in the crook of his arm until the bucket of cold fear that had been dumped into his system tapered off. His hand twitched in hers, he pushed against her palm with his thumb. They were developing their own language.. He knew what that meant. "Yeah.. R-right.."

There was a sharp inhale and her fingers curled against his fingers weakly, refusing to release. "Don't..please? I'll be fine. Really. Just really..really tired. B-besides..I've already promised..I'm not..going anywhere.."

"Right.." He repeated..his hand relaxing in hers several moments later. He could..see what kind of building they were in..maybe get clothes, clean up..once the bigger wounds on him were healed.. But..he could wait for all of that. "Then..just sleep.. You're supposed to wake to see me though, so..do that.." Nodding.

Wake up to see him. Her lips twitched from the calm smile into a strange little smirk. They had the strangest habit of recollecting each other's words to use against one another. The smirk faded slowly into a expressionless mask. "You better be here..for me to wake up to.."

"Yeah.. I'll be here.. Don't worry about that.. Even so..I can't really get up to go anywhere.." He grinned. That sort of..ruined his plan to go explore, but..maybe she would sleep hard enough.. If anything..so that he could find better bandages..or..a towel.. Something..

"Yeah.." Don't worry about that? Really? After what they had recently gone through. She grunted quietly and her fingers twitched against his hand then relaxed. There was a quiet little sigh as she tried to relax into the sleep that had been trying to clench her.

"It'll be fine.. You want to do something..to help me.. Take care of yourself..that's all I care about.." He smiled sadly, dragged his knuckles back across the part of her hair. "That means you have to get better too.. You'll be awake..and seeing me in no time.. It's okay to sleep.."

He didn't really want her to sleep. She knew better! Even still.. The motion to her hair didn't help any and she soon sank into the darkness that awaited her. She murmured quietly as she drifted into a most heavy and much needed slumber.
