April All Ranks Tournament


Come one, come all, bring family and friends to the April All Ranks Tournament on Twilight Isle, Tuesday, the 21th of April. In addition to the tournament of magic we will have a Show Off Your Spring Hat competition.

The goblins have been hard at work with the planting of spring flowers and garden gnomes around the dueling area on the isle. In addition to the usual fare they plan on offering spring theme decorated appetizers and desserts.

Please try to be there by 8:30; I plan on passing out ring assignments by no later than 9 PM EST. All duelers are elegible to enter (including those not yet listed in the standings). The format of the tournament will depend on participation. Throughout the tournament, everyone participating regardless of rank will be allowed to use all 4 advanced spells (no mage powers, no keeper powers). While it is not required to pre-resgister, any bye rounds needed will be decided by the order of pre-registrations recieved.

Of course, there will be prizes. Your wins from the tournament will be added to your overall DoM record. (Losses will not be added, of course) That will be the case no matter of the format we will end up using. Should the participation be high to where dueling is not concluded by 2 AM EST, we will conclude the tournament on the next day.

Prize List:
The winner will receive
1500 Nobles (and a guarantied rank increase)
The runner up will receive
1000 Nobles
The second runner up will receive
500 Nobles

Should participation be greater than 16, the Prize table will be:
2000 Nobles for the winner, 1000 Nobles for the runner up, 750 Nobles for the 2nd runner up and 500 Nobles for the 3rd runner up. So if you like to see the higher prizes then bring your friends, sign up your family, teach your pet how to cast spells.

The prize for the best (most beautiful or most original) spring hat will be 1000 Nobles.

Please be on time if you expect to participate in the tournament. Better yet, plan on being there a few minutes early.

Show off your spring hat competition results:

A big thank you to everyone who participated. We had a great number of entries and everyone looked absolutely fabulous! With all the stunning and beautiful entries it was difficult for us judges to even narrow down the list of the best to pick from.

Azjah came not only with a hat fashioned from and adorned with peacock feather, but even wore a peacock feather skirt with a bikini top. Tormay wore an eye catching hat that treated everyone who took the time to watch to a show of spring blooms sprouting and blooming. Neo's hat was a fedora with a bubble blower that blew bubbles even while he in the rings. Aja looked splendid with a captains hat with white feathers, Mira matched a hat to her uniform adorned with violets, several ladies wore flowers and ribbons. Maranya wore a picture hat adorned with spring flowers and a multitude of feathers. Guillermus showed up with a metal spring balanced atop his head, drawing quite a few giggles. My apologies for any name and hat not mentioned in this recounting. There were just too many wonderful creations to mention them all here.

It was downright impossible to decide for just one winner, even after excluding judges and their close relations from the short list. So we decided to give out two prizes, one for the best male and one for the best female entry.
