It is that time again. As flowers begin to bloom and warm weather is imminently upon us, so to is Beltane! Therefore, it is time to submit your nominations for the Queen of May (or the May Queen)!
The May Queen will preside over the Beltane festivities. The Queen is supposed to symbolize purity, strength, and the potential for growth in the coming season. Some even believe that she is the goddess of spring incarnate for the night! Since purity is a rare virtue in RhyDin, we are forgoing that requirement for the Queen and any pretty girl will do!
The Queen will be responsible for beginning the revelries of the night and lighting the main fire. She will also need to pick a man of her choice to be king (representative of the Green Man) who will aid her in leading the dancing around the fire, setting an example in general merry making, and the blessing of others.
Proceed thee to the booth in the market place (impossible to miss: It's set between Hatters, Hatters, Hatters and Inedible Arrangements, and is bedecked in flowers with a giant sign that reads "May Queen Nominations") and submit your nomination for who would make the best Queen of May!
