In an attempt to improve education within the realm, we are conducting a survey to ascertain the strengths and weaknesses of the current schooling system.

1. Do you have any children?

a. If yes, how many and what ages?

b. Do any of them attend classes?

c. If yes, where?

2. What classes would/do you expect to be taught?

3. Are there any areas where you believe the curriculum needs improvement, based on daily observations (i.e. mathematics, reading, writing?)

4. Do you believe classes should be based on specific needs?

5. Should classes be separated based on magic and non-magic users?

6. Would you be willing to volunteer your time towards improving education in the realm?

7. Are you able and willing to teach classes?

a. If yes, what classes can you teach?

b. If yes, when are you available to teach?

c. If yes, do you have a preference as to what ages you teach?

If you would like to be a participant, please leave your contact information along with your survey and someone will reply to you in short order.

Amthy gave a happy squeak when she spotted a new survey on the board. They always turned out to be such fun. Rummaging around in her bodice, she found her notebook and a blunt blue colored pencil. Granted, it took her quite a long time to find both. Squinting, she pinned her notebook against the board and copied down all the questions while reciting them to herself as she read them. Her handwriting was poor and spoke of only a passing acquaintance with being formally instructed.

1. Do you have any children?
Yes, I have two wards.

a. If yes, how many and what ages?
I have two and they are both about ten years of age.

b. Do any of them attend classes?
Yes, they both attend class, and if they are not they are in need of punishment for skipping lectures.

c. If yes, where?
They both attend Wicklow?s Academy for Girls.

2. What classes would/do you expect to be taught?
Arithmetic, reading, writing, and alchemy.

Amthy thought about the next question while strumming the side of her pencil to her pursed lips. She was the last one to point fingers about such a thing given her own lamentable (and brief) time spent enrolled in Rhy?Din Memorial High.

3. Are there any areas where you believe the curriculum needs improvement, based on daily observations (i.e. mathematics, reading, writing?)
I think the teachers could be nicer and more understanding. And better looking. It makes it easier to learn when a person is easy on the eyes. My astronomy teacher was very nice and handsome and I learned. My Intro to Drow teacher was ugly and mean and I did not learn as much.

4. Do you believe classes should be based on specific needs?
Yes, that would be helpful.

5. Should classes be separated based on magic and non-magic users?
I think they should be separate in some instances, but not in all instances.

Amthy giggled to herself and scrunched up her pert little nose. She did love a good charity!

6. Would you be willing to volunteer your time towards improving education in the realm?
Yes, I would.

And then her expression fell with the next question. Was she even qualified to teach anyone?

7. Are you able and willing to teach classes?
I am willing but possibly unable.

She left the last three sub-questions unanswered. Her gaze then jumped to the instructions at the bottom. What was her direction? Amthy was stumped. Presumably, Ardane and the Manor both had addresses?she just didn?t know them. Puffing out her cheeks, she tore the paper she had been writing on from her notebook and folded it in half twice. After repeating the address on the original sheet to herself several times, she nodded to herself and toddled off to deliver her survey to the indicated mail box.

The survey was sitting on Jewell's cluttered desk, waiting to be filled out. She had been meaning to fill it out for quite some time now and was finally making good on said intention.

All the questions were answered in her strong script.

1. Do you have any children? Yes

a. If yes, how many and what ages? Seven children: an eleven year old female, seven year old male, two five year old males and one female, one four year old male and female.

b. Do any of them attend classes? My two eldest attend school outside the city at RhyDin Academy for Young Lords and Ladies. I, with the help of a governess, instruct the younger ones myself.

c. If yes, where? See previous question.

2. What classes would/do you expect to be taught? For the two eldest attending school I expect a variety of classes, including: RhyDinian History, English (the common language of RhyDin) reading and writing, Elvish reading and writing, Mathematics, a variety of sciences, basic sword fighting, penmanship, public speaking, and magic use.

3. Are there any areas where you believe the curriculum needs improvement, based on daily observations (i.e. mathematics, reading, writing?) The school my children attend is very proficient. However, I do not find most of the schools within the city to be so, being the reason I sent them away for schooling.

4. Do you believe classes should be based on specific needs? Absolutely, all children learn differently and have different academic needs.

5. Should classes be separated based on magic and non-magic users? Some classes certainly should, specifically magic competency classes.

6. Would you be willing to volunteer your time towards improving education in the realm? Yes, especially since I already spend my time educating my own children.

7. Are you able and willing to teach classes? If the schools were proficient and I could send my kids to the schools then I would have the time and be willing to teach the classes.

a. If yes, what classes can you teach? English reading and writing, Basic Elvish reading and writing, Basic Magic

b. If yes, when are you available to teach? Most afternoons

c. If yes, do you have a preference as to what ages you teach? I am accustomed to dealing with younger children, usually under ten. However, I have no problem dealing with teenagers as well.
