Let me first start by saying our SL is very open.

Let me then clarify that statement with this one: Within Boundaries.

We believe in the essence of creative free-form which demands interaction with very little rules. Having said that, these rules are not flexible, but iron-clad for the purposes of establishing an environment in which true free-forming can flourish.

Rules
1. Absolutely no god-moding, powergaming (we used to call it Snerting back in the day). Do not declare your actions as completed, write as if you hope or plan for the outcome and allow the other participant to respond in kind.

2. Absolutely no forcing another to interact in a storyline they are not comfortable with (this one is challenging as we believe in the truest form of free-form creation and shy away from pre-written storylines). The best way to follow through on this is to simply state early in the roleplaying what outcomes are not allowed: ie, rape, forced evil actions and manipulations, death (having said that, if your character continues to interact in such a way that would demand a response from another that you have deemed inaccessible, you may find limited interest in play time with you). Example: If Joe Schmoe enters into a storyline with Darth Vadar and insists that he not be killed, he cannot expect to slap Darth Vadar in the face repeatedly with no repercussions.

3. The outcome of any real battle with the Shaitan Covenant is not meant to mean death for your character. Eventually there may be casualties on both sides, but to truly write a masterful setting in which everyone can enjoy the pressures and constraints of actual limits, the focus needs must be on the battle, not the outcome.

4. To truly achieve an evil and feared status you must earn it, but in free form rp it must also be given. As Xenograg rightfully described on the board in his description of improv: You must make the other person you are rping with look good as well, otherwise the give and take is purely a taking action on your part.

5. My beloved once explained it (perfectly I might add, but I adore and worship the man so I may a trifle biased) all the great stories of our times of heroes and villains force the hero to earn their reputation and recognition. We don't cheer for Luke Skywalker because he's a BadAss who can kick Vadar's butt easily but because he's a nobody who rises to greatness. No one is interested in Frodo getting the ring to Mordor because he's a ninja assassin of great skill who kicks Sauron in his bloody red eye and spits on him. Heroes are born by trials of fire and the Shaitan's true purpose is to serve as that fire.

If you are interested in roleplaying with the Covenant, the best way would be to simply interact with any of them in room. The storylines will progres naturally if your interest and skill are there.

Three Important Points:
A) Flushable/Disposable Characters.
Most people ask if they can create a character for the Covenant. I am not against this; however, this is a personal concern on my account. Too often, people look to simply create something new and therefore, flushable, so as to not interrupt the sanctity of their old creations. While sometimes this is fun, if done right, and allows people to play multiple creations, the really well-written and enjoyable sl's usually evolve around characters that have proven themselves to their own writers. Get out and play that character! Flush them out and figure out their quirks and what makes them real to you and others.

B) Opponents/The Goodies
Are you looking for a villain for your story? An opponent for your character? A fire to forge a paladin? If this is your interest we would be delighted to look into it.

C) Allies, Possible Future Members/The Baddies
I should also explain that one cannot simply create a character within the Covenant, those spots are earned by long hard well-played storylines that usually destroyed the characters in some small way before rebuilding them into their current incarnations. All those who are within the Covenant are there through roleplay and have displayed OOC talent and IC history to achieve those spots.

If you have a dark character that's powers might intrigue the Covenant they will come looking and the storylines will progress naturally to either allow that character to join or ally in some way.
