Rishi stepped out of the Temple and walked across the grass of the Compound lost in her own thoughts, passing the guards and then turned left up the street towards the city. She was headed for the dreaded West End of RhyDin where the filth hung out. At least filth named Verash, a Khyrolii who was going to die.

She passed through the city gates unmolested and then turned left yet again to the west and made her way through the teeming streets, the sun was bright overhead and wispy clouds were carried on a light breeze. The closer she got to the area her hunt would take place the more salt water would assail her nostrils and warn her of the bay.

She turned into a dirty, dingy, and decrepit hole in the wall that served rot gut drinks to dock workers only stopping at the bar and waited while the bartender looked her up and down. Finally he came over to take her drink order but she had no intention of poisoning herself.

"What do you want?" It sounded like to drink but she knew better and so did the bartender.

"Verash." She threw in and his eyes never flickered. It didn't matter to someone who could read minds though. She wasn't part of the Jedi Order who would respect his privacy, she was already inside his mind before she asked the question.

The room had gone still, there were only six men in this room with her, six men who looked like they would eat her for lunch and who watched her carefully, wondering what she had under the cloak, both in weapons and in body. She turned to the man the bartender thought of when she said the name, he was sitting with two other men and they tensed as she walked over to them. "What do you want? Here to have some fun?" The man asked, covering up his nervousness, his two buddies laughed, one reaching over to look under her cloak.

"Verash." She repeated the process and got her answer just in time as the man on her right snaked his hand under the cloak and groped her ass, he squeeze hard and then laughed at his friends who cheered him on by laughing loudly. Without showing her anger she smashed down on top of the man's head, the blow striking him behind the ear and down he went, unable to sit in his chair.

The man to her left was already on his feet with a dagger in his hand but before he could lunge for her the telltale hum of her saber was audible and the man staggered back, the darkness of the room tinged now with the red of the blade. Rishi placed the blade just above the man's shoulder and waited patiently. "Verash."

"I am not telling you..." He never finished, his curse turning to a scream as she dropped the blade and along with it the man's left arm. She didn't need the answer, this was play time. The man fell back screaming as he clutched his burnt stub, he would not die of blood loss the blade had closed the wound.

She suddenly ignored him and turned to the man who had grabbed her ass. He was shaking his head and getting to his feet, trying to come to terms with the blow she had given him. She didn't have super strength like others she knew, but she was training in hand to hand combat, she had hit him right where his balance would be effected. As soon as he got to his feet she flicked her wrist, bringing the saber humming up in a straight arc and the man's hand, the one that had touched her, fell to the floor.

I man went back to his knees, adding his voice to his friend's. Rishi stood there for a bit and felt him suffer before turning her attention back to the man who held all the knowledge. "Verash." She said and advanced on him. The man tried to get to his feet to escape her but she didn't hesitate, she cut the man diagonally and turned before his body parts could hit the floor. She had what she needed.

She walked back to the grabber but he saw her coming and ran for the door, intent on saving himself. She reached out a hand and he stopped rigidly. She walked up to him one arm out to hold him in place using the Force, the other on her saber, still alive in her hands.

"You grabbed me in a familiar way. I think it is only fair I get to know you in a familiar way. You did it your way, and I hope you enjoyed it, I am going to do it my way and I hope I enjoy myself too." She said and kicked a chair out of her way so that nothing stood around them, they were alone in the middle of the room. She looked him over and sized him up, like a meal or a plaything. Yes....like a plaything. She brought the saber up so it hummed in the silence.

"I am going to start at your feet and we'll work our way up to the top."

It was said that in the West End of the city, word travels sometimes faster than light. In this case, it was certainly true that a certain piece of news was traveling at the speed of thought. The Khyrolii named Verash had been hired to keep an eye on one Trystal Vordia, to ensure that she was working as ordered to further TRIAD's interests. Now however it looked like someone was coming after Verash himself. An informant at the bar where he usually hired his muscle had sent him a quick telepathic warning, right before the contact had been cut off violently. That usually only meant that the other person had been killed.

In less than five minutes after the warning, Verash was out the window and climing for the roof. A random direction, though nowhere near that bar, was chosen and the Khyrolii set out across the rooftops of the tightly packed West End. For the moment his observation of Trystal would have to wait till Verash was a little more secure, and he had some idea of who exactly was now hunting him.

An hour later, panting for breath and fairly certain that noone was following him, he finally dared to activate his commlink to the ship in orbit. "This is MASE operative 5936B with a priority message for MASE command. Covert status compromised. Repeat, covert status compromised. Requesting either reinforcements from Irondragon or immediate evac. Requesting orders. Next communication in two hours, 5936B out."

As soon as he closed the comm device, the message was sent by way of the orbiting ship through an IComs relay back to Khyroll, the home of TRIAD Enterprises...

More screams followed Rishi as she walked out into the street. She had gotten up after a horrible night of unsleep and walked straight to the West End and its dirty streets. She had gone straight to the building where Verash was supposed to be in. She had made a mistake though, she had spent her time chopping the ass grabber into little pieces instead of following up with a quick strike at the next location.

And then last night she had her...break down. She was pushed beyond her limits, frustrated that she had to witness but couldn't get involved so finally she threw caution to the wind and jumped in.

Now she was playing catch up, the people she encountered today knew Verash but they had not seen him since last night. Someone had, someone would tell her. Or else.

People were finding the bodies, anyone who knew Verash who refused to talk to her died. Word would spread, she kept moving so the Magistrates couldn't stop her and eventually Verash would be hers. Because it would be too dangerous to hide him any longer.

She walked into the last house on her list. This was the hideout of some unimportant gang that worked with him. They were all there, word had spread and the members had come home for protection. Maybe all of them together could stop Rishi. There were also survivors from the other places she had visited, they had all figured out the common thread and gone to ground in the only place left to hide.

She waved her hand and the front door pushed in and then slammed open. A blaster bolt flashed out at her and she deflected it but moved out of the way, this was the first time someone had used higher technology. She stuck her head out to look into the main room and then duck back even as the door jamb splintered under the blaster fire.

She waited for a few seconds and then popped back in and raised her hand, Force Lightning flashed out and seared the blaster armed goon. He jerked at the impact and she was inside. The men waiting in the eaves charged forward and her saber burst to life.

A man on the balcony overhead with the crossbow missed his first shot as she rushed in and she raised her hand, using the Force to pull him off into a fall, taking the banister with him. Everyone else on the balcony either rushed out of sight or started running downstairs.

Rishi ignored them as she concentrated on thinning the numbers down, they were all wielding melee weapons they could not stop her saber but there were many people, if they came up behind her, if she stopped moving and gave them time to think or organize, she could be in trouble.

Thoughts of Verash were on all of their minds, they blamed him for this, he was not here to share their pain which angered them and her. He had escaped her again somehow. She moved faster, her rage overtaking her, she didn't need to hold back, no one knew anything, they were all for telling her where he was if they knew, but they didn't.

She sped up her movements, embracing the need to abandon herself to the destruction and murder. She let all of her pent up emotions regarding Gun and Brutin flow and she killed.

She came to her senses as the last body fell and she couldn't find a target for her rage. She glanced around and knew there were others, her main focus would be upstairs in the master bedroom where the last vestiges of leadership remained, but there were others hiding or trying to run away. But they couldn't this was there fortress, there were no lower floor windows or side doors leading outside, those would be weak points.

No, if they wanted to escape they would have to go through her. Needless, she was wasting time again and she would not make the same mistake twice.

"Verash." She said like a mantra and went to work.

She stepped out forty minutes later to find the streets crowded with people and magistrates staring at her. She put her saber back on her belt and then looked at the magistrates as they moved forward to her.

"Look for survivors." She said and tapped the Force, the magistrates all turned from her and ran inside. She didn't wait, she turned to continue down the street and complete her search. She sent out her senses searching for him, but now she knew he was alerted to her search.

Now the true game would begin.

Verash grumbled from his hidey-hole up in the city's clock tower as he trained his field scopes on the Red Dragon once more. It had been several nights since he'd had to go further underground than he preferred; several nights since someone had started hunting *him*. Risk was supposed to come with the job, but never in his fourty years had it come *quite* this close. Always before he'd been at least a half-step ahead of the competition.

Now however, whoever it was hunting him had done such a thourough job of eliminating all his contacts in the city, that now Verash was forced to keep tabs on Trystal directly. What's more, he'd been forced to hiding in out of the way places like the clock tower or the city sewers. Noone on the streets dared give him shelter now, not with a crazed Sith on the loose and hunting for his blood.

Another muttered curse as he adjusted the lenses to get a better view of the subject. So what if she was the CEO's sister, why bother with her at all? Surely TRIAD could dig it's way into this world's economy without her, right?
Verash quickly silenced that train of thought and dropped back below the wall, digging out a field ration and eating silently. At least he could still get these from a few contacts, and hopefully these were safe from slaughter, since every time he visited he wiped their minds clean of any memory of his visit. Not for the first time he was glad he'd been allowed to get the genetic patches and the training to bump him up to a full P1 telepath. Whenever someone ran into him and actually heard his name, he simply wiped their memory of the event.
Hopefully that would throw his hunter off the trail long enough for MACE to make up their dammed mind about his situation. After his first panicked transmission to HQ, he'd only gotten back terse, certainly automated replies. Each time they'd told Verash to continue his mission and await further orders. Just what in heaven's name was MACE doing on this rock if they weren't going to send in backup for their point man?

Another muttered curse and having finished his meal, Verash felt with his mind for the target. She knew he was there, but neither was strong enough to break the mental defenses of the other without a serious confrontation; one that she would not risk for fear of her daughter's life, and one he would not even consider. He might be a strong telepath, but she could crush his body like a grape if she chose. Only that threat of the hostage kept his life intact, and for a brief moment Verash thought about what would happen if they lost Trystal's daughter? The canine shuddered across his whole body, then shook his head violently as he heard the whisper of laughter in his mind...
She knew!
