Lord Brutin

"Enough!" Brutin shouted and the two men backed off some, the limp figure fell forward like a bloody rag. The two men stayed within easy arm's reach of the figure but clearly he was going no where, his breathing labored. "Now then, let us try again. I come seeking knowledge of the duel between a person named Tasselhoft and one named Jewelsie." He said and one of his men thrust a book under the man's face, blood dripped from his broken nose onto the pages and the man pushed the book aside in defiance.

"The woman's name is not Jewelsie!" The man spat and Brutin sighed and went over his To Do list, things had been going well so far but with bets placed for the coming fights it was time to do some serious research. Finally the hard thunk of flesh on flesh stopped and Brutin looked up. The man was just not in a good way.

"You are having a rough day of it. Now then, I seek knowledge about this duel, namely, who other than this Helston woman is he kin with or whom does he care for?" Brutin asked calmly as if having a fluid conversation at a cafe.

"Go piss off!" The man said and Brutin went back to his To Do list, the girls had been handed over to the care of the new Stable Master but truth be told Brutin didn't think the man would last. He just didn't have the temperament.

A soft moan and final thud brought Brutin's attention up, the man was lying in the fetal position, very little of his natural skin color showed through the blood covering him. Both of Brutin's companions were winded and not a little sore. "I admire this gaming commissions fortitude but surely if you do not keep records of your entrants you can rule over the referee's calls. I seek to nullify the win, but as a compassionate man I will only seek to change one outcome, that of Tasselhoft winnning. See? I do not wish to be difficult. Now then, to whom do I speak to point out the irregularity of his coming victory?" Brutin asked and leaned forward to better hear through the man's broken teeth.

The two warriors with him leaned forward as well; as the man spoke, softly, shakily, spilling his guts with the conviction of one wronged. Brutin looked up at the two warriors who looked at him apologetically. "You should not have had to hear that." One of them said.

"It was incorrect." The other offered.

"My mother might have been close to as he described but of course I cannot confirm or deny it." Brutin offered and the two men nodded. "Still, he is stout and will not break if he has the energy to recite my family tree so colorfully. Hide him so that no one will find him until after the fight and we will go ask his supervisor, I believe the man has a lovely daughter, with her help maybe we can persuade him to see how this Tasselhoft fellow is going to cheat." He offered and the two men bent down to dispose of the eloquent clerk.

Brutin sat back on the desk and checked his To Do list, crossing off Rules clerk and then added a new entry underneath it stated simply as Penelope

Brutin sat halfway on the desk cleaning his fingernails. Of course there was no dirt under them, he did not deign touch anything so revolting but none the less it served its dramatic purposes. He looked up at the red rimmed eyes on his guest and smiled to him.

"So. My dear fellow, I believe we were discussing the formal rules of this so called duel." He said contemptuously. The girl who had just been laid naked upon the desk behind him, bound and gagged struggled to get free while the two men who had unceremoniously dumped her there moved back out of the way. Brutin felt the girl nudge him in her struggles and he slapped her thigh to quiet her.

"You bastard, you let her go, Penelope!" The man yelled, struggling against the two men that held him. Brutin looked over to his right and smiled.

"I told you we had the right girl, Philodus." He teased and the man in question rolled his eyes.

"You took a great chance barging in and grabbing the first girl that fell into your graspl" He replied but Brutin only shrugged, unwilling to give up his victory.

"Let her go!" The man yelled again and Brutin drew his attention back to him. Why was he here again? Oh yes.

"So, you were telling me about unfair refereeing and how to overcome a clearly flawed decision." Brutin said and traced his fingers slowly up the outside thigh of his captive girl while her father looked on in horror.

"If you have harmed her!" The man spat and Brutin smiled cordially.

"Do not worry, I did not take her virginity, she was no virgin." He said and the man gasped while the girl broke down in a moan, her mouth gagged so she could not speak. "I should know, I checked repeatedly." Brutin added with a flourish.

"I will kill you!" The man said and was promptly clubbed behind the ear for his troubles, he sank forward and they waited patiently for him to recover before Brutin put his smile back on and regarded him.

"Now then." He said cheerfully. "You were saying?" He said and the man spat on the floor. RhyDinians seemed to have become awfully stubborn since he left. What were they feeding their peasant stock these days? "I would recommend you cooperate, she is a pretty thing and she just happens to fall into a category of hobby I pursue, a collection hobby." He said and ran his hand up to cup a breast with a wink to good ole Daddy. "Yum".

"Do not hurt her, please, I will cooperate." The man caved and Brutin removed his hand from the girl who for her part struggled all the more, willing to be subjected to hell if it would mean her father didn't suffer an ounce of shame on her behalf.

How quaint.

"Very well, you have my word. On the day after the match should Tasselhoft lose his match to Jewelsie or win and be found abhorrently to have cheated the results and disqualified, you may come to the Compound and claim your Penelope." The man's face brightened. "However," Brutin added to dramatic effect. "If Tasselhoft is found the winner and it stands or you tell him of this duplicity then I shall be more than happy to hand you the receipt of your daughter's sale in her new service to whomever has the coin." He finished and the man glared at him while the girl shuddered.

"I understand but I hope you burn in hell." The man said and Brutin grinned.

"I have been there once, I was sunburned, I doubt I will return." Brutin said offhandedly. If only they knew the torments he had been subjected to for trying to just get by as an honest merchant, why begrudge a man his livelihood?

"You monster!" The man spat, desperate to get the last word in and Brutin turned to him with a grin.

"A monster is a creature of habit, for survivals sake." He said casually and let his hand fall on the bound girl, her panicked cry giving way to a steady moan under his ministrations. "I am not a monster, I calculate what I do for maximum effect..." He continued to bring the girl in front of her father who had turned his head away and closed his eyes, but could not cover his ears.

She cried out and then melted to the tabletop, her moans giving way to gagged sobs as she cried. Brutin's eyes never left the father's face as he finally turned his head back to regard him and Brutin smiled pleasantly.

"...effective, would you not agree?"
