Ghent Tyn

I've seen things in similar threads, so I thought I'd put one up for those who care to post here. Please note that not all of this information is readily available IC, meaning mostly histories.


Character: Ghent Caelius Tyn

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Birthday: April 12th

Physical Appearance: Ghent is 6 feet tall and weighs around 155 pounds. He has red hair that isn't overly bright and, when allowed to hang freely, reaches just below his neck. It's normally in a small ponytail. His eyes are dark brown. He stays in shape out of habit and while not hugely muscular, he is toned. He has no immediately visible scars or birthmarks.

Personal Belongings/Equipment: Ghent owns two firearms. The first is a Jericho 941. The second is a Smith & Wesson Model 500 Revolver. He also has a standard military issue knife. He also has a ring recently given to him by Ada. He hasn't taken it off since she gave it to him.

Occupation: None, currently. Ex-soldier and student. While he requested to resign from the Heor Republic Army, his rank of Major was left intact.

Personality: Ghent can be somewhat of a mystery. Around people he knows and cares about he is very kind, patient, usually overprotective, and affectionate (with his sisters and Ada anyway). To people he doesn't know well, he is usually very polite, well-spoken, and quiet. He isn't quick to anger or irritation, though there is at least one person who can evoke an immediate angry response from him. Once provoked, he has no qualms using force to settle the issue. Depending on the degree of the problem and those involved, he will not hesitate to take someone's life.


Skills: Ghent is exceptionally intelligent and brave. Both gifts have caused him trouble in the past. He's skilled in the use of handguns, rifles, and submachine guns. Additionally, he knows how to fight with a knife and can use the standard Heorian martial art that is taught to all troops. He's excellent with maps, strategy, and deductive reasoning. He has no supernatural powers of any sort. This includes magic. He views magic in a scientific way, as he's read a few books about the subject since settling in Rhy'Din.

History: Ghent has recently left military service after two years dedicated to the Heor Republic Army. His homeland is generally regarded as a peaceful nation, but they were forced to war by the neighboring country on that continient, Galmae. Ghent used the army as a means to get away from his parents. His father was both physically and emotionally abusive to his only son. His mother never did anything to stop these occurances and tried to explain to Ghent why they happened. Ghent absolutely hates his father, Jerald. He views him as a good for nothing drunk. His mother, Nawei, still holds a place in his heart, but he's thus far been unable to forgive her for turning a blind eye to Jerald's actions. Ghent was recruited as an officer and climbed to the rank of Major extremely quickly, both due to the impending war and his uncanny abilities with maps and strategies. After a brush with death in battle, Ghent found himself in Rhy'Din. He had no idea where or even when he might be. Many things seemed archaic. A chance encounter with Adalia Dodd led Ghent's life to where it currently is.

Adalia Dodd

Character: Adalia Evelyn Dodd

Nickname: Ada

Gender: Female

Age: 21

Birthday: January 1

Physical Appearance: 5' 7", 123 lbs., teal/turquoise hair, and rose-colored eyes. Usually, she wears an outfit that compliments her colors, including a jacket with accents that matches her hair color. Recently, an experiment involving a portal experiment left her without a right arm. A blue wispy phantom limb replaced her arm for a short time, followed fairly quickly by a robot arm.

Personal Belongings/Equipment: Aside from a plethora of strange curiosities that line her pockets, Ada has a jacket that she usually always wears, despite her attempt to completely reconstruct the right sleeve. She also carried her keys everywhere, and she can often be seen around the realm with a pink umbrella hanging off of her wrist.

Occupation: Crafter, and self-appointed meal maker for the hungry. She also dabbles in some first aid, including some more advanced procedures, like minor field surgery.

Personality: For the most part, Ada is a very outgoing person, and will chat with just about anyone until given a reason not to. She's very polite, knows her manners, and will help someone in need. Despite all of that, she is very careful when revealing information about herself, and tends to keep her name from being common knowledge until she's certain she can trust a person.


Skills: General skills include basic assembly and repair of minor machinery, advanced first aid, cooking, and general household know-how. Proficient with entertainment skills, also, including poor dancing, mediocre singing, and excellent juggling

History: The last known member of the Dodd family, Adalia received the deeds to her family lands just over a year after her father's disappearance. While the land had at one time been used for a feudalism-based micro-society, the parcels had long-since been reclaimed and the lands remain empty in the present. The main manor is left empty, while the much smaller guest house was obvious in use.

Shortly after receiving the deeds to the lands, Ada transferred ownership to Ghent Tyn, in order to ensure that someone trustworthy always had the deeds, and also to allow for a residence, should Ghent or his immediate family need a place to go.

More recently, she had been putting her thoughts and actions into tracking her godfather, who is wanted for suspicions of temporal crimes, premeditated kidnapping, attempted homicide and terrorism.
