Paola

Paola's recent days had more change than she had ever experienced. She seemed to walk in a constant state of awe as Anton had been kind enough to show her some of the history of the Air Guardians, and some of the tasks that were to be ahead of her. Books that she had never been able to read now called and begged for her eager mind. The pair had spent a great deal of time in the Goddess' Library that was only for the eyes of a Guardian.

Now Anton had taken her to unnamed realm where the Guardians could gather together. It was almost like a slice of existence thats sole purpose was for each Elemental to be comfortable, and for each Guardian to have the privacy away from their respective realms. There was so much that Paola never knew even happened!

The day of the ceremony was all a quick blur after she had been chosen. She remembered the bonding, and remembered the feeling that something was not quite right. The next thing she knew, it was the following morning, and a small tattoo of the North Winds covered the place where her wrist had been cut. From there one, her days had been filled with what to do, things to do, and so on. Paola had seen the other new Guardians, and beyond pleased to know that her best friend Celeste would be starting this new beginning with her. She was informed that Storm had a poor reaction to the bonding, and that she was recovering well beside a cold in her home. She remembered many of the memories that she had received, and many had startled her. Now, she picked them apart, and had a growing list of questions for her mentor.

"And this one is to be yours." Anton motioned to the small and bare room that had only a desk and a chair - but to her eyes, it was all hers and wonderful. "We have some of your things already, go ahead and arrange everything as you please."

"Thank you, Anton." With a brilliant smile, he left and Paola nearly bounced to her small box. Now all she could do was settle in, and wait.

Storm Divine

Storm had to sit in the middle of the snow for several minutes after stepping through the portal to the Air Realm. Her stomach pitched and rolled in great protest and she quickly became light headed. Taking slow and deep breaths, the sharp chill felt good against her face, and eventually the worst past. Feeling better but still not well, she slowly stood up and started a slow pace towards another portal that lead to the unnamed realm. Bracing herself, she had little hope that her body would cope better this time around. Once stepping through the portal, she had to sit down again and repeat the process of calming her system down. Storm was just waiting for the day when the nausea would ultimately win.

Now she was moving again, and though her face lost some of its cheery color, Storm could at least function enough to instruct Paola. Making her way inside, she was greeted with soft and easy murmurs. The sound was of familiar, and it eased the rest of her tension. Counting down doors until she found the one next to hers, she knocked gently, ?Paola??

Paola had begun to unpack, but some time ago a book had caught her interest and her nose had been buried ever since. The knocking on her door sounded like it was several doors away instead of the one right in front of her. She blinked several times, letting the glazed film disappear and quickly hopping over her boxes. ?Oh, sorry!? Quickly opening the door, she punted a box aside, ?Come in, come in.?

?Thank you.? Placing a practiced smile on her face, she quickly scanned the enclosed room with several boxes and item. The claustrophobic atmosphere brought a nervous pitch to her middle, ?Busy moving in?? Hoping to beat the nausea, Storm picked up books from a chair and sat there, placing them on her lap.

?Yes, Anton said no time is better than now. Though, I have been distracted along the way?? Paola trailed off and studied Storm, ?You looked peaked. Are you still unwell?? Sincerity at its best, she even frowned with concern.

?I am afraid that the nerves of the ceremony and the beginnings of a cold do not set well with me.? Storm brought a hand up to scratch her cheek, though her intention was to rub cool fingers along the flushing there, ?However, I feel better than the past few days.? This was a circumstancial statement, but she continued, ?Other than helping you settle in, I would like to make time outside of the usual Guardian meetings for you and I. It is to my understanding that you have been chosen because there is something valuable that you can offer, and I in return can find it.?

Paola slowly nodded, her mind already stacking and shuffling her time. She was going to be one busy Elemental. ?That is fine. If you have the time, you are welcome to watch me settle in and we can discuss what ever matters come to mind.? She was already moving to get back to the boxes and the unpacking.

?Excellent,? without thought, Storm quickly stood to aid in the unpacking, ?we should?? her voice trailed off, and she unceremoniously dropped the books on her lap back onto the chair. Her face turned white and almost to a shade of green, ?Excuse me.? And with that, she nearly bolted out the door and ran for the nearest necessary room.

Her luck had already turned short.

Paola may stick her nose in books and study over maps, but when it was time to follow one, her knowledge failed her. Storm?s penmenship could not have been more precise, but still Paola turned around in place. She could not even follow her confused footsteps back to where she began. Snow falled gently on her many curls, but the pretty white scenery only made it more difficult to see signs.

Storm found that walking in the cool weather helped when her nausea was at its worst. It cooled her warming body and cleared her mind. Heading for the library, she spotted a rather confused woman with bounds of curls, and smiled slightly, ?Lost already??

?Bah!? Twisting her body around, unsteady hands tried to reach for her dagger along her belt with little success. Once she turned around enough to see that it was Storm, she huffed and gave in irritated look, ?What is bloody wrong with you??

?Just thought that I could offer some assistance.? An amused smile played with her lips, before nodding to the building that Paola was looking for, ?Perhaps the right building would be a good start. I did not realize that my directions were so poor.?

?It was not your directions?? She stopped herself, not wanting to appear more so the fool. ?Why are we meeting here??

?Because it is quiet and there are rarely people inside.? She moved to open the door for her, ?Thank you for meeting me here. I hope that you would understand my reasons for not using any portals.?

?Do not worry over it. I enjoy seeing new places.? She stepped through the opened door, her eyes already eating up the variety of books that she had never seen.

?Well, not many will say that about here.? Paola?s interest had her smiling, and she gently directed her to several oversized chairs. ?Let?s layout your needs now so that you may have time to look through the books.?

And when everything was done, Paola left with several books and a satisfied smile
