He stepped through the portal. It had been nearly three months since he had seen anything outside of a room. He had much to answer for, but for now he was just glad to be back. He would miss home, but he had to leave. If he had not, well...

He stepped out into the sun. He breathed in deep. His eyes were almost permanently glowing green. That was okay with him though, he had gotten used to it. He knew Rhy'Din was a few days journey by horse. However, he had not brought a horse along this time, so it may be a few more days than he thought. He would make camp by the portal, and start the process of disassembling it by magic the next day. He looked up to see a blue sky and clouds. He thought of Quel'Thalas and how much he would miss it. He would go back and visit.

He thought of all he had left behind in Rhy'Din, and the joy of explaining himself there. Shea...Storm, although she had gone, he had a progress report for her... But especially Janet...

He woke up and looked around. He had nearly forgotten that he was no longer in Quel'Thalas, but was in the vicinity of Rhy'Din... Or at least a few weeks walk. He contemplated going back... He had been contemplating why he had left Quel'Thalas since the day that he decided that Rhy'Din were to be hin new home. Most thought he was crazy, but he had his reasons. He had made his decision soon after Storm had left Quel'Thalas.

The Chaotics and the Council had been defeated. He had set up a new government, and most had wanted him to lead it. His commanders were the new Council. A benevolent Council that would lead with integrity, and restore peace to Quel'Thalas, and turn it into the realm that it once had been. A new day had dawned for the Blood Elves. A bright future was ahead of them, and Assadar decided that he had no place in it. He would go back and visit, but he felt that Rhy'Din had left to great an impression. He would go back to aid Quel'Thalas if it were ever needed, but his days of being a leader were over... So he decided to be an ambassador...

He thought of those he had left behind in both Quel'Thalas and Rhy'Din, and although he had loved his commanders as brothers and sisters, he loved others in Rhy'Din much more, and felt he could learn more from them than he could by leading his people. He would miss them dearly, but he had means of returning. He searched in his pack for the Rune of Recall. A way to return to his home in Quel'Thalas should he ever need. Thus, he looked at the portal, he must disassemble the portal. So that no one, or thing, could ever break through again.

He closed his eyes and began to m,meditate. He could see the portal in his mind. His powers had grown in the war with the chaotics, and in fighting some of them, he had learned to use arcane magic, and was becoming better and better with it each day. He had learned the elements, and was now concentrating on the arcane. He focused his mind, and reached out. His eyes were glowing green already. They were permanently glowing green now. That might change, but he had to be on constant guard while in the war, and had learned to be ready at any cost, and sometimes that took longer to go away than anything. He focused. He reached out his hands toward the portal. His palms touched the very edge, if there were one, and began to chant under his breath. The portal began to close... It would take nearly three hours for his task to complete. Once done, he would be drained, but he knew that.

The portal had been closed. He went back to his small camp underneath a large oak. He sat, and pulled out his water. He had underestimated the time, and had actually spent four hours working to close the portal. In two days time he would be ready to travel again. He took in the water, and ate some of the dried fruits he had brought along. He did not have the ebergy ti hunt, so he sat. He began to hum an old song from his home. He used that to lull himself to sleep. He would get underway soon, and then he would be back in Rhy'Din again...

"Assadar..." The voice came as a fleeting voice, as if on the winds "You can't leave now..." They were in a hall, a beautifully decorated read and golden hall... It was him and Avan. Avan had served him as a formidable assassin and friend in battle. He had placed her as the leader of the new Council. All the other members had accepted. She would be his place while he took on the spot as ambassador.

He looked at her directly in the eyes. Joy and respect were on his face, but a love that only a brother could have filled his eyes"Avan, I understand. I am sorry, but I am no longer needed here. All things are leading me back to Rhy'Din. There are friends... and it has become my home. Avan... I will miss all of you. I will come back..." The dream started to fade...

He woke from his meditation. A few days had passed, and it was time to get moving. He knew that he would have to recall these dreams over the rest of his lifetime. He rose to his feet, and packed up his belongings. He had only taken with him what was needed to survive the trip to Rhy'Din, and would purchase more when he arrived back. His first order of business however was to find Storm. He wanted to check in on her, and see if she would help him to get situated while lying low. He had worried about Storm ever since she left. He was in her debt already, and was upset that he should ask more of her, but knew that it was necessary. He would reveal himself to those whom he knew it mattered the most first.

He began his journey. He passed through the trees with ease. He had been used to this. He had seen many forest battles, but had also grown up in the forests of Quel'Thalas. He could tell much about a land by its trees, and followed the direction toward Rhy'Din. He knew which direction to g, but confirmed it by the trees. He had been traveling for most of the day, and decided to stop at a lake. He had come to regret giving Storm Vardamir... He laughed quietly to himself.

He found some sticks, and a few small logs, and drew upon himself to light the fire. He cooked a small meal of herbs and plants. He warmed up some of the bread he had brought along with him, and then went into a meditative state. Tomorrow he would pick up his journey again.

was it the howling that woke him? Was it because he could feel the packs paws upon the earth? Either way, he was up. It was night... He focused in on the earth without even opening his eyes. He could feel them... Seven of them... Surrounding him. He could feel them coming closer...Closer... Then it happened. He released a lightning bolt that passed through them all. It had done enough damage to harm them, and make them run in fear, but not enough to kill. He was an elf, and to do direct damage to nature, especially life, was against who he was as a person. He shook it off, and went back to meditating.

Metal clanging together... Pools of blood... Chaotics... Storm... Then, a hill... A grass covered hill. He was sitting on it... A familiar voice "Son, the most beautiful sunset you will ever see will be after the worst death you have ever seen..." His father had spoken truth... He had watched his father go off to battle, and never return... The same grass covered hill... This time it was Assadar who was on it... He was seated... Sunset... Beauty...

He woke, this time to the sunrise... He waited, and enjoyed it. The sun warming up his face, and all around him. An hour had passed, and he had some dried fruit for breakfast, and then continued on. He walked along streams, and lakes, and trees. As he passed through a meadow, he spied a family of deer. He stopped to admire the beauty. Quel'Thalas should hopefully be seeing the deer come back like that. He smiled, and headed onward.

He stopped next to a large lake this time. He went through the routine of gathering twigs and sticks, and lit a small fire. Tonight he would rest, for tomorrow would be the Great Feast of Elune. He had not paid homage to the goddess in quite sometime. He might not feast tomorrow, but he would do the rites necessary. He had seen many years of life, and battle, he owed it to Elune that he was alive...

It was time... He walked out of his tent. It was still dark, but the sun would rise soon... He could already feel the heat of battle upon him. Elf against elf... The blood elves had never seen a war like this... Elf and chaotic verse elf. This was not the way he had ever wanted to see his people go, yet he knew that if they did not stand here, outside the walls of the fortress of Quel'Thalas, than he would never be able to stand within the walls again. He looked over an saw Storm ready for battle. She smiled slightly, he knew it was a smile readiness. Him and Storm had had time to "bond" lately... His heart belonged to another, but he also knew that Storm would make a wonderful friend... That is, if they ever made it back to Rhy'Din. He had never shared his thoughts to her though. Not yet. He would reveal himself to her, only when he finally arrived back... If he arrived back...

There was a loud noise. A bang almost. He looked up just in time to see one of his commanders, no doubt Avan, throwing a guard over the wall. Her and her batallion of spies and assassins would be infiltrating the walls by now, and when they got to the door, they would open them, allowing his army to siege the fortress undetected for a time. His troops orders were simple... Only those who put up a fight should be detained. All others had the choice to join the fight, or lock themselves in. If it came to lethal force, they were able to use it. If the chaotics were to show themselves, then they were to be slain on sight. The time would come soon. Storm joined him. They surveyed the troops, so ready to take back their realm. He could not help but smile at their loyalty, and their bravery. It was uplifting. Just then, the doors swung open... Silently he took the lead, and led his troops inward... It had begun...

Assadar woke from his meditation. His dreams had been coming more vivid, and lifelike. He knew that Storm must be seeing the same things, but he was still far from her. He looked around in the darkness. He let the sounds of nature calm him, then resumed his meditation. He would move again in the morning, but for now, he would dream once again...

Not enough sleep, and the Chaotics were unrelenting. They were inside of the fortress, but there was almost no time for anything. He could see his fellow commrades falling, and he was distress from the Blood Elves who were willing to kill their friends and family for the sake of siding with the Chaotics to gain their power. His race had fallen from its former glory, and he wanted to reinstate that. Chaotic after Chaotic dropped, and yet they seemed never ending...

He entered the main castle... There they were! The Council... Most of them dead... He looked around... Why though? Why were they dead? He had been the first to enter the castle itelf, let alone the Council chambers... Then he asw him... Fon... He had slain them. He alone wanted to rule, and he alone had orchestrated this. He looked with pity upon the once great Blood Elf, now consumed by his hunger for power

"You will never win Fon!"

Fon looked up and smirked. His eyes had begun to glow red, "Oh Assadar, you fool, can you not see? I already have!"

"Fon, you are so consumed by power... Come with me, and I can help you overcome it, as I have!"

"You are weak Assadar, and now, you will die!" Fon pulled out his Elven daggers, and lunged... It had begun... The final battle was here...

As he walked, he finally realized where he was. He looked up, and saw that it was the final hill before he reached his destination. He walked up the hill slowly. He wanted to take this moment in all that he could. He had been away for quite sometime. He came up over the hill, and saw it. It was gorgeous. Rhy'Din. He was home at last. He set up camp, and decided that he would reveal himself little by little. He would live outside the city until he could connect with Storm. She was his number one priority right now. She had left, and he had not been able to warn her of the effects becoming a human might cause her. Tonight he would camp, an tomorrow he would begin looking. It had taken him nearly two weeks to reach Rhy'Din, and tonight he would rest. Tomorrow the search would begin. He could feel her slightly. That meant she was in Rhy'Din, but not close enough to even pinpoint a general direction, but that was okay, because tomorrow he would start where it made logical sense... The beginning.

He woke up the next day, and was refreshed to see Rhy'Din in his sights. He had planned on going into town this day. He changed from his travel robes into a his training robes. He loafed around for the day, and practiced some magic, both elemental and arcane. His powers in elemental magic had decreased, but his arcane powers were becoming more and more powerful. It was as if the chaotics had had an effect on his magic... He could worry about that later...

The sun had began to set when he changed into his black robe set used for getting around in the dark when one was not wanted to be seen. He packed up his materials, and put them on his back. If he did find her, he would like to have his things with him. He headed for town, and entered through the north gates. He headed somewhat south, and passed an interesting little place. The sign read "A Stitch in Time." He would have to stop by that place once he had gotten himself settled. It seemed quaint... He kept heading south, and passed by the bridge. Night had fallen, and that was quite alright. It seemed quite normal for a person to be seen by them self at night in these streets. He headed over the bridge, and then veered a little west.

As he drew closer, he could not help but think that this was the first place he had gone when he first arrived. Hopefully... Hopefully it would get him in less trouble than last time. He had arrived... There was a sudden sickness in him. It had been months since it had happened... Yet, there it lie... Storm's house, still in ruins. She must have left it alone in order to be a reminder... He could feel her still in the city... He still had no idea as to where. Her presence was known, but he was not sure if he could make his known to her... He decided to wait here for a while, and sent out a signal hopefully she would receive. He focuesed the energy around him, and gathered enough heat that he sent as a large fire signal into the air, which burst like a firework into a brilliant blaze of green and red flames, which he then shaped into the Blood Elf signal that she would have recognized from her time in Quel'Thalas.

Then he decided to wait. He slunk over to the house, and decided it would be best if he waited in the dark, so he sat down, and propped himself up against the house. Hopefully she would see, but if not, he would stay here till dawn, then make his way back to the outskirts of town. He did not want to be known entirely yet, but knew that quite a few people may have seen the signal, and hoped that only one would know what it meant, or come to investigate. Until then however, he would enjoy the cool breeze that had started up...
