In the Darkness, he could feel something calling to him... Assadar...Assadar...Assadar He started to breathe more heavily... Light...Coming toward him...

Assadar awoke from his meditation...

He reached inside of his cloak and produced a small glowing shard, The Crystal of Calling.

(He rolled his eyes)::Wonderful::

<He spoke in Elvish>

Yes Elders?

Have you found anything Assadar?

::Lying:: No my Lords. There seems to be nothing that I can find here thus far, but I will continue my search...

Assadar, if there is nothing, then why do you not return?

I have reason to believe that there may be something here for me... There may be something here that could lead to the reconstruction of the Sun Well... We may be able to achieve our power again...

Assadar... You do know what that means? We could...

I am well aware of what it means... But I am only doing it for the protection of our people... I will not let you power hungry Elders corrupt the power I may be on to. I will be the protector, and you will listen to me.

TREASON! WE ARE THE RULERS!!

Do you want the power of the Sun Well returned?

::Silence::

We will comply with what you say... But we will send you aid...

You will send me nothing. I will grow in power, and when I am ready to return, I shall. You need to stay put. If I even so much as sense another Blood Elf here...

Have you mentioned your heritage there yet?

No, they all think I am of the High Elves, and that is where it shall stay. I must go... I start... My training today... When I am ready to speak to you, I will. Do not use the Crystal of Calling again to reach me, next tiem I may be with my "Master."

Who is it you are training under?

Another Elven Mage... A one Shea... We shall see how it goes. She seems to not trust very easily, so gaining it may prove difficult, but I will learn all I can. How is the elemental front there?

It is going as well as it can. We have enlisted help from those around us, and have begun evacuating the smaller villages into the surrounding countries. We will most likely have to abandon Quel'Thalas within the year. We ask that you hurry.

I will do my best... Good day My Lords, if I need anything, I will not hesitate to call upon you.

He shoved the shard back in his cloak. He hated when they called upon him. They wanted only to get their grubby hands on a power that could quench their thirst for power and magic. Assadar had fought this same thirst his whole life. As a Blood Elf, he would probably suffer through this his entire life. However, if he learned the ways of all the elements, he might be able to restore the Sun Well, and if he could do that...

No... He would not give in. In due time, he would learn the ways, and become powerful enough to save his people. He hated the fact that he had to lie about being a High Elf, but he did not know if the people here in RhyDin would understand that he was a Blood Elf. They might fear his thirst for magic, and then he would never train. They would never understand that he had overcome his thirst, even if the people who ruled his realm had not... He was starting to take a friendship to Shea. She was like minded... Both of them alone... Hopefully, the training with his master would go well... Who knows, he may even be able to tell her of his true heritage someday... Until then...

He closed his eyes, and went back to his meditations...

Darkness

::Meditations always took Assadar to his depths and back. He could look into events of his past, and visualize them. See where he was, and see where he had been. It was mostly relaxing, but sometimes a vision of the past would come that made him think about how things could have been different?::

::One hundred years earlier. Assadar was on the battle front, readying his troops. He was a commander? In charge of fifty of the best elves in Quel?Thalas. Some were soldiers, some were healers, and some were mages. Either way, they all looked to him for direction. He stood on a grassy hill overlooking a valley where the barbarian horde had taken camp. One-hundred and fifty soldiers. All ready to fight and die to take his people?s country. It would never happen. He looked back to his troops. He could barely see them in the night. The orders had come. Take them out? All of them. The numerical odds were in his favor, but he did not know the horde?s fighting style. He had heard rumors of warlocks, other mages, and shaman. They were savages. They killed everything they saw. The wind picked up. He turned to his aide, Kirin. Kirin had fought beside Assadar as an aide, a friend, and a valiant troop for more than fifty years now. Kirin could read minds. All commanders had a long range tele-psychic communicator. These elves were trained to communicate with each other via long distances to help coordinate attacks.

::Kirin looked at Assadar. Kirin?s green eyes stopped glowing:: Commander. The troops are ready to commence with the attack.

::Assadar looked to Kirin, Assadar's eyes began to glow green, his thirst was seemingly unquenchable. He would destroy this horde, and learn their secrets of magic.:: Then let us begin old friend

::Jump forward 3 days::

::Kirin lay on the ground, in Assadar?s arms. They were all dead? All but Assadar. His thirst for magic had led to the destruction of fifty of his best men, and his dear friend::

::With tears in his eyes:: Kirin?Kirin? I am sorry? It is my fault?

::Kirin looked up to Assadar, no emotions in his eyes, as they began to dull in color:: Commander? Assadar? Old friend? It is not your fault? Please? Do me a favor?

::Assadar looked down to Kirin:: Anything?

Assadar? Please? Do not? Let your? Thirst? Rule you? Thank you? Old?friend?

::Kirin?s eyes rolled up. Assadar looked down at his friend with great trouble. The tears began to flow more. He would live up to his friends request. He pulled Kirin?s eye-lids down and began to weep bitterly. He looked up to the heavens. He knew why this had happened::

::He pulled Kirin close to him, and beneath the tears he said bitterly while weaping:: Kirin? Kirin? I will never let this happen again? I am sorry?

::Everything started to fade. Then...::

::Somethings Assadar could pull from his meditations, other things came at random. Some things were beautiful. Children running through the pastures. Drinking tea with friends. Other things were not so beautiful. Wars fought between friends. Magic ruining his people, and leaving them with an unquenchable thirst::

::He found himself suddenly thrust into the Elders quarters. Ten days had passed since his battle... The one where he had lost control of himself, and literally obliterated the troops he had commanded::

<They all spoke in Elvish>

Commander Assadar, you have been tried and convicted for the murder of fifty-one Blood Elves. Shall we read their names, or have you already suffered enough?

::He had suffered enough:: No sirs, I already knew them all by name.

We have decided on a punishment, but not for these crimes. It seems as though you have tapped into something young Assadar. A power. We have been told that you refuse to share that information with us. We will release you of all crimes... If you share it. If you help us regain power.

::He smirked slightly. Almost out of disrespect:: Help you? I laugh at the thought! That power killed fifty-one of the best troops you have, and you expect me to share it with you? I would not even give you a whisper! I will never tell you a thing!

Very well then. As an officer, your punishment has been greatly diminished. An ordinary Elf would have been court marshaled, and probably killed... You though... You are special. We have decided to let you live, and stay in the ranks... But as a lower officer.

::A lower officer? He would have preferred death rather than to be a disgrace. He would be a laughing stock to his people. They knew that. They wanted him to suffer. They wanted him to give it up. HE would never. If they dropped him down to the bottom, than he would rise up again. He would not let his people be driven by these monsters to their doom:: What rank shall I become, and where shall I be stationed?

To the very north. To the Frozen Wastes. There, you shall assume the rank of trainer. Trainer to the Blood Elf armies.

::Ha... They just made their biggest mistake. They were making him a trainer of their armies. this should get interesting::

We shall make routinely inspections on you to make sure that no oddities occur with your training. We would hate to see an uprising. There is a team already waiting for you there. you leave tomorrow, under heavy escort. Do not try anything stupid Assadar. We would hate to see someone with your talents die in vain.

::He wouldn't dream of it::

Then...

::Five years had passed since his trial and demotion. However, nothing of his determination to rise again had. He had found himself in the coldest furthest reaches of the realm... The Frozen Wastes. Ridiculous, however, it had only sparked in him more the need to return to his original command of the armed forces. He was up to be general before it happened. However, he was able to choose his own team. He chose fourfriends that he knew would follow him till the end. Loyal friends that would allow him to work out his plan, his way::

::Orin, a strategical genius. Orin, a male Blood Elf who stood 5'8'', was in charge of teaching the new recruits military strategies at the Frozen Wastes Training Center (FWTC). Orin was never one in combat, and was horrible at magic, but he was amazing with a map, and numbers::

::Saken, was a male Blood Elf who stood about 6'5''. Saken, was an amazing hand to hand combat elf. He could give anyone a run for their money, and could out last anyone Assadar had ever seen in hand to hand. He knew his stuff, and was also a weapons expert. Saken was in charge of the FWTC's combat training. Not everyone was meant to use magic, but almost all of them were meant to be warriors::

::Avan, was a female slender Blood Elf, who stood 6'2''. Avan was a stealth and reconnaissance mistress. She could get into places that Assadar did not even know existed. She knew things that were so private, those guarding the information had no idea what it was. Amazing at getting what she needed, Avan was also Assadar's personal body guard. She was skilled with close combat weapons, and would kill for Assadar::

::Siphe, was Assadar's personal psychic. Siphe was Kirin's replacement. Sliphe was definitely no Kirin, but she was loyal, and had agreed to Assadar's plan early on. She knew something was up, and wanted in on it. She stood at 6' even, and was very slender. She would inform Assadar of anything that he needed to know, like when there would be inspections::

::In the three years, Assadar had become quite good at avoiding unnecessary inspections. His team made him well aware of things that were going on in the realm around them. The team had volunteered to go with Assadar to this hell hole, and he was eternally grateful to them for it. Him and the team had done a wonderful job of training only those who would help further his cause. He was not training a group of elves for the regular armed forces, he was training them for his own personal army. The Elders had become corrupt, and if it meant overthrowing them, Assadar knew that it had to happen. He knew that they would not go down easily. They had been in power for nearly 700 years, and no one wants to be taken out after that long, but Assadar would do so, working from the bottom up::

::Lately, Chaotic Elementals had begun to be spotted on the outskirts of the Frozen Wastes. It was nothing to be alarmed about, if anything, he found it useful practice for the trainees. He would never engage them. He simply ran the facility. He had still remembered his vow to Kirin, and had yet to touch magic since that day five years previous::

::He sat in his office, when Siphe came running in:: Sir! Their...Coming...Elders...Here...

::He looked a little puzzled:: Siphe...

::Enter Avan:: Sir, Siphe is right. The elders are on their way here right now. They are on their way now. They should be here any day now!

::Hmm... The Elders... Now was not the time nor the place:: Ready the men for inspection. Avan, fetch Orin and Saken. Siphe, go back to your post, and keep me updated. ::She turned and left:: Avan...

::She looked his way and made eye contact:: Yes sir?

I want you by my side the entire time they are here. This is their first visit here, and I do not know why they would make the trip up here if it wasn't something important.

::A solute:: Yes sir! ::She turned and left::

::He was alone. Hmmm... The Elders eh? They knew of his dedication to not using magic again, and they knew that he was not the strongest elf in the armed forces. He needed Avan watching his back at this point, but that was ok. A few minutes passed, and Orin and Saken entered::

Gentlemen, I need you guys to do me something. Have all of the trainees ready within the next day and a half for inspection. We have some very unexpected guests coming... The Elders...

::Orin's face looked dsturbed:: Sir, they have to be up to something...

I know Orin, I need you to do some planning for all options. Saken.

::A solute:: Sir!

I need you ready at all times. Avan will be with me all the time, acting as a personal assistant, but I need you ready just in case something happens to her. Otherwise, both of you act as though they are the Elders. Show them your respect, and continue with classes in the exact manner that you have. Clear?

::Both solute:: SIR! ::They both had their assignments, so they turned and left::

::Alone again, to toil over the visit. He had suddenly become their leader. He had been before, but with the threat of the Elders... If they were caught, than it would be all of their heads... So here he was. In charge of a team of underground rebels... How exciting. He thought though... What would happen? Why here? Why now?::

::Sitting in his training room waiting for the Elders to come in had to be the worst thing that had happened since he had arrived in The Frozen Wastes Training Camp(FWTC). His assistant, Avan was sent to lead them in. If the Elders were up to something, he would have known about it by now. So he sat and waited. He normally would have gone to greet them, but they wanted to come to him. Their psychic had informed Siphe of this earlier. Four Days had passed since he had found out that they were coming, so he had enough time to prepare, but it was still a little nerve racking::

::Enter the Elders. Five in total. They ruled the entire realm of Quel'Thalas, but they wanted to rule the whole world. He had known that for quite sometime. He stood and bowed. A customary thing to do to people of respect:: Hello Elders ::He held the bow until they acknowledged his presence::

::Elder Fon, very calmly:: Hello Assadar... Please dismiss all of your people, seeing as how this one ::A nod to Avan:: Won't leave us alone...

::If there was one thing that bothered Assadar more than anything, it was how calmly the Elders spoke. He knew Avan would not leave unless Assadar asked her to. She was almost too loyal sometimes:: Avan ::A nod to her:: Please leave us.

But sir...

Avan... It is an order. ::He hated to order his team around. They were brothers and sisters in arms, not his underlings, but if it had to be done. He gave her an apologetic look, she gave one back, but hers also meant that she would be right outside the door if anything happened::

::After she left, Elder Herow continued:: We have heard rumors that you are training an army here, Assadar.

::He laughed a little inside, but was completely stoic on the out:: I am. But it is for the good of the people... It is what I was commanded to do, is it not?

::Elder Santucc:: Assadar, we would prefer if you were not smart with us. You know why you were sent here, or should we remind you. As it is, we were nice enough to let you take a team of volunteers. All of whom should outrank you by now.

::His heart told him he should kill them all now, but that would do no good. For too long had they ruled unjustly, and sought for power. He knew Avan was listening, which means he had some explaining to do afterwards:: No, I quite well remember, and would never think of betraying the Elders. You saved me from death, and sent me here. I am eternally grateful.

::Elder Sealte:: Good Assadar. With that kind of attitude, you just may rise to power again. Ever since you left, we have been in need of good commanders.

::Elder Fon:: That is the reason for our visit. We would like you to come back and be a commander for us again.

::Assadar laughed inside... You know I am not loyal to you... You want me dead:: What is the catch?

::Elder Herow:: You are to do whatever we ask of you, and leave your team here. We want only you Assadar. This rag-tag team you have assembled here, is of no use to us, and would better serve the Empire here.

::Assadar wanted to reach out and strangle him. This "rag-tag" team was the best team in the entire Empire, and if they did not see that, than they were not worth dealing with:: I will not leave my team here. They come with me everywhere.

::Elder Jurtya:: Assadar. Do you not wish to gain your old command back? Come with us. We will make you more powerful than before. You do not need this team. They are only tearing a great Elf as yourself down.

::He wanted to kill them all now. He suppressed that feeling. He would not give in:: No. I will not leave them.

::Elder Fon:: Fine then Assadar, you will die here. We have heard that you have given up magical study, and have only gone to being a supervisor here... Is this true?

::He knew it would come up:: Yes. After the incident, I have had no need to use magic. It only fuels our people's blood lust, and thirst for magic, and I will not be apart of that.

::Elder Herow:: You are a fool. If the Sun Well...

::Elder Fon:: Enough Herow. Assadar, before we leave, there is one other thing. Some chaotic elementals have been seen out here, and we think that they may be coming from the other lands to feast on out peoples magic, the very little we have. Please do try to keep them at bay.

::That was it. That was the extent of their visit?:: You are leaving so soon? But you only just arrived.

::Elder Sealte:: We came only to speak with you Assadar. We shall be leaving now.

::Elder Fon:: Before we go Assadar, we have something for you. ::He produced a Rune from his cloak:: The Rune of Calling. We are giving it to you. In order to use it, you rub the inscriptions, and say the name of a person at the other end of it. The Elders are the ones with it, but each of us has our own. If you need anything, do not hesitate to call upon us... Trust us when we say we shall not hesitate to call upon you. Remember who you serve Assadar. It could mean your life someday.

::With that, they turned and left. Something was wrong. How did they know about the chaotic elementals? Why did they want him to leave? Probably to send him to the front lines to die... As soon as they had walked out, Avan walked in::

Avan, gather the others. I have some explaining to do...

::He had so much to explain... The Elders had left the day before. He called his team together. They had no idea what they were getting into when they had left for the FWTC. They just followed. So loyal. He knew they were the group he needed. He needed a group of brethren, not subjects. They had assembled in their private room::

::He looked out at them, Avan, Saken, Orin, and Siphe. He felt compassion for them. He smiled and then began:: I owe you all an explanation. Thus far, you have followed me for five years without questioning. You have served as loyal friends, brothers, and sisters. I could never thank you enough.

::Avan piped in:: We need no thanks.

::The rest in a raised pleasant voice:: HERE HERE!

::He smiled and looked down in humility, and Avan continued:: Sir, we follow because you lead us through example, and treat us like friends, not dogs. We are loyal because you pulled us here for a reason...

::He broke in at this point:: Yes, and that reason is going to be explained right now. You all know why I was sent here. So now, I will tell you why I came by choice. I had heard of the Chaotic Elementals for quite sometime leading up to my arrival. I have longed believe that the Elders rule only for their own benefit. They wish to rule all of Azeroth. I will not allow that to happen. It is my understanding that they are controlling the Chaotics, because they plan to use them against all of Azeroth, and try to restore the Blood Elves to their former power thirsty selves. It is for this reason that I have refused to use magic... I will not become like them.

::He paused and let it soak:: I brought you all here, because you were what I believed the military's brightest, and best. None of you finished top of the class, but I also had found reports of your grumblings against the military... Destroyed them... And then requested all of you come with me. You see, I plan to overthrow the Elders, reunite the Blood Elves, and set up a new council of Elders. A council that will put the Blood Elves as a whole above themselves... That is where you come in. You are my commanders. I want you leading my army. Then... When all is asid and done... I want us to be the Elders... Yes... I believe each of you has the right ehart, and mindset to do it... I need you brothers and sisters...

::They sat in silence for a few minutes, Assadar spoke quietly:: Listen, I want to give you all a chance... If you want to walk away, and pretend like this meeting never happened, than that is fine. However, if you want a new Elven people, rid of the magic lust, rid of evil... Than I can help bring that... Take sometime, then decide. I will be here...

::Without even a blink, Avan rose:: I for one sir will not leave your side fore any reason. I am in...

::Saken rose soon after:: Sir... I am with you all the way. Count me in.

::Siphe looked unsure, but still she rose:: Sir, you will need me, so count me in.

::All eyes turned to Orin. Assadar spoke:: Orin, you do not have to come. I, and none of them, will hold you responsible, or look down upon you if you do not wish to come...

::Orin began to laugh:: No sir, it is not that at all... I was thinking about how great it will be to see the Elders' faces when we march into Quel'Thalas and kick them out!

::Assadar would have teared up if it weren't for Avan standing right there. She would kill him if he cried. He was surrounded by friends, brethren, all willing to give up their lives for the cause:: Thank you... Team... Team FTWC. I have already begun recruiting. Saken... You are my second in command. Siphe, I need you attuned and ready to coordinate at any time. You have a new assignment. You are to identify any psychics among the new recruits, and train them now. Orin, I need you on strategies. Look at maps of all the areas, everything number, everything. I need to know all strategies, for any situation. Avan... I need you running reconnaissance all over the place. If there is something going on, I want to know about it. I want reports of progress from you all individually every week... Well, don't just sit there, move it!

::They all looked at each other, then they were off... It had begun...::

::Twenty years had passed since the team had been assembled. It had been twenty-five years since he had been sent to the FWTC. The time had been passing quite fast. Thanks to the training camp that the Elders put him in charge of, he and his team had been able to place elves in the entire military force that would turn in a moments notice and fight for the good. They were the best of the best, and Assadar and his team were proud of that::

::It was night now, and Avan had been gone all day with Saken. The Chaotic Elemental situation had worsen over the past five years. There were more and more Chaotics popping up all over the place. He had sent Saken, Avan, and a small team of recruits out to investigate. So far... No word. He was not worried about Saken and Avan. It was the recruits he was worried about::

::Assadar was still convinced that it was the Elders that had been controlling the Chaotics, but he had yet to gain any knowledge as to that being true. He was on to something though. He planned on killing a Chaotic, then taking it to the Elders, and seeing what they think... Literally. Siphe had become powerful. She was almost to the point of being able to read others minds that were not other psychics. He had been practicing with her for almost everyday for the past five years::

::News came to his training room that they had returned. He would ask for them, but he knew already that they would go directly to him::

::They came in holding something that made Assadar look twice. It was blue and twisted. It looked like a giant peach pit, but blue, and it had a semi-glow to it:: What is that?

::Avan tossed it on the ground in front of him:: It is the core to a Chaotic Elemental sir.

::Assadar looked a little surprised:: So the mission was a success take it?

::Saken looked tired:: It was sir. It was difficult, but we finished the mission.

Excellent. Saken, you may retire if you wish, you look tired.

Thank you sir, I shall debrief you later on what happened, but for now, my bed seems to be calling me. ::He left the room::

::Assadar reached out and touched the core... All of a sudden he was thrust into a realm of magic. He could see it... Feel it... Yet, it was evil. The magic that he was interacting with was not from this world. It was pure evil... Yet it was powerful... All of a sudden he was thrust back into his own realm... He looked at Avan. She looked utterly surprised, he asked her:: What is it?

::She hesitated:: Sir... All of a sudden your eyes began to glow a fiery green, and you started to chant in another language... You then stood, looked at me, and a green ball began to form in your hand... Then you came back...

What? ::Oh no... This was evil...:: Thats it! Avan... The Elders do plan to use the cores. think about it. If they could harvest them, and then figure out how to control them... They could restore the Sun Well, but not as we know it... But a corrupted Sun Well that would drive our entire race into an evil blood thirsty people, hell-bent on destroying everything but ourselves... We cannot let this happen... I have to confirm it...

Sir, let me do it.

No... I must do this. I cannot let them think that you guys may have something to do with this. If I die, then you can continue in my footsteps. I have much to plan for. Call for Orin, I am going to need his expertise in planning. Avan... Call the rest of the Team, and let them know that there will be a meeting in two weeks time to discuss the next plan of action...

::Two weeks had passed, and Assadar was ready to give his report to the team. He knew they were not going to like his decision... They never wanted him to go anything alone, and he may have to compromise, but he did not need there involvement in the plan to be known right now. If he were to be captured, he needed them to continue on::

::He sat in his chambers waiting for them to arrive. Today was the briefing day. Today he would tell them of his plan. He had been receiving reports for two weeks. Thus far, from his intelligence, he was almost sure that the Elders were in control, or at least cohorts, with the Chaotic Elementals. Assadar would not have that. He had seen to many deaths to allow his people to be led to their own destruction. They all entered together... Right on schedule::

::He watched them enter. He said softly:: Have a seat team. ::After they sat, he continued:: Over the past two weeks, I have been considering my next plan of action. I know that none of you will be happy, but quite frankly, I do not care. I am going to go on reconnaissance, by myself. ::He watched as Sekar opened his mouth... Here it comes::

::Sekar stood, and bowed:: Sir, we understand. We have heard it, and felt it unwise to argue with you. So instead we wish to propose something. Will you hear it?

::He was astonished. This had to be the first time none of them argued their point. They knew it was dangerous, and yet they left it as is:: Of course you can bring a proposal. Lets here it.

Sir, we want you to take Avan with you. Not as a personal body guard, but as a spy. She can go in silently while you are the distraction. That way, even if you are captured, or found out, she is not, and we still have what we need to know that we can fully go through with this and have it mean something. So... What do you say?

::Wow... They had thought this through, and he knew it was a solid plan:: Yes. Avan can come... But only if she goes undercover. I do not want her affiliated with me in anyway.

Of course sir.

It is settled then... It takes one month to travel to Quel'Thalas with no portal, so we shall leave in one weeks time. We shall take different routes as to not attract attention, and Avan will be going secretly under the cover of night, the night after I leave. Is that a fair assessment, team?

::Sekar seemed to be the leader today. That is why he was second in control, and meant to lead if he were to not be in capacity too...:: Aye sir.

Excellent... Are there any further objections or comments? ::No answer:: Alright then, lets get prepared. I have enchanted another Rune of Calling. The team that remains here shall have one, and I shall have the other. This will help you in case I am captured. Alright team, get to work.

::Assadar meant business. If he was going to take out the Elders, he needed to be sure that they were in cohorts with the Chaotics, and the only way to do that, was to meet them on their home turf. If only he could tell them his true plan, then there would be some objections. Oh well, they would know soon enough::

::A week had passed, and it was time for Assadar to leave. He was going by carriage. He had loaded all of his stuff. The team had assembled outside the camp. He turned to them before he headed out. This might be the last time he see them. The future held so many options. HE did not know which one would unfold for him::

::He looked and smiled at Saken with a brotherly smile, and that of true friendship:: Saken, if something is to happen to me, I want you to command everything. You now what needs to be done, and I trust you.

::Saken looked at him with concern:: Sir, you say this like we shall never see you again...

::He looked to Saken remorseful:: I am not making any promises Saken. You have been like a brother to me. Thank you. Take care of the team if I do not make it back. ::They embraced as brothers::

::He looked to Orin and Siphe:: Brother and sister. Thank you. You have served me well. If I do not return, you must continue to fight the good fight. You must fight for a new tomorrow for our people.

::Orin looked up at him:: Thank you sir. You were the best leader we could have asked for. If something were to happen, we will continue on.

::Siphe looked to him after Orin had finished and smiled:: Sir, you have taught me so much. Thank you.

::He embraced them individually::

::He turned to Avan:: I shall see you there.

::She looked confident:: No you won't.

::He laughed and smiled:: Oh Avan. Take care of yourself there. Thank you for going along. I shall see you. ::She saluted him, but he embraced her anyway::

::He turned from them. This truly may be the last time he would see any of them. He headed to the carriage that was to take him on the month long journey to Quel'Thalas. He jumped on the carriage. He turned and looked at the team. They were all saluting him. He saluted them back as the carriage began to leave. They all held the salute until the carriage passed out of sight and he could no longer see the camp. Then he turned and began to think of the mission ahead::

::He had arrived in Quel'Thalas about a week earlier. Nothing of too importance had happened. He had not made his presence known just yet. He rented a room one of the run down local inns. The city had changed so much in such a little time. There were more slums, and the palace had become the real highlight of the city. He felt sympathy for those who had to live this close to the oppression of the Elders. They had taken such a beautiful city, and made it horrific to be in. He only traveled by night, and was usually in an average worker's cloak. He did not want to wear his military cloak. That would get noticed far to easily. Besides, the Elders would know of his presence soon enough::

He sat in his room, it was day,and he was going to wait for He wondered if Avan had reached Quel'Thalas safely. He thought of the others back at the training camp. He had brought them so far. They were willing to give their lives for his cause. He thought of the hundreds who had joined his cause, and the possibly thousands that would join later. He put on his military commanders cloak, and headed out the door. Once outside, he headed for the Military Compound. He was once the commander of his own elite force of elves... Now just a trainer. Still, hopefully not to many people would recognize him. As he arrived at the compound, he walked up to the door. The guards nodded to him. They simply recognized the cloak. He nodded back and headed indoors::

::Once inside, he walked along the corridor, down a long hallway. It was lit by the same magical green lights as outside. He crept along, not slowly, but lightly. He reached a room that had a door with a magical inscription on the outside <General Korith> he read to himself. Hmm... Korith had made general huh? Had he been gone that long? Him and Korith had been commanders in the military together. Neither of them got along. For one, Korith was a dog who played by the rules of the Elders, and not the people. He was willing to kill the little guy for his own benefit. Well, here goes nothing. He picked the lock and headed in. Once inside, he relocked the door. The window was open, and it allowed for a cool air to come in::

::He produced a small light and began to search around. If Korith was general, than he was sure to be up to whatever the Elders had in store for the realm. He opened drawers, and looked around. HE began to go through scrolls upon scrolls... He had been in their for what seemed like maybe thirty minutes, when he found what he was looking for... He read the scroll quietly to himself::

<General Korith,
We have some information for you. We command you to not attack the Chaotic elementals in our realm. It would upset them, and what upsets our guests upsets us as well. They have agreed to not attack us while they are here as long as we do not attack them. As you know, if all goes well, then we shall have their power soon enough. Again, if we find out any of our military is involved with any attacks on them, then we will be forced to take action.
The Elders>

::He had what he needed. He stuffed the scroll in his cloak, and headed for the door. He unlocked it, and walked out. He checked to make sure there was no one there before he fully left. He walked down the corridor, and toward the door. He saw someone coming, and pulled his hood up. As he passed the elf, he looked at them... It was Korith. He put his head down a little further. As he did, he heard him say something... :: You there stop! I say! Stop! ::Assadar continued out the door. He could hear Korith becoming angrier and angrier. Then he heard the words he did not need to hear:: SEIZE THAT ELF!!

::He made a straight run. He grabbed the scroll in one and and ran as fast as he could. He turned a corner fast, and stripped off his cloak fast. He was in an all black tunic and pants. He left the cloak there and headed down another hallway, and up a ladder to a roof. He jumped a few more roof tops, and sat down. The sun had started to come up. He realized that if Korith had actually recognized him, than the Elders would know he was there. That might ruin his surprise, but he had to make do with what he was given. After the sun had reached mid height in the sky, Assadar headed back to the inn. He went to his room, and laid down on the bed. He read the scroll a few more times::

::In one weeks time he would approach the Elders. He hoped that his team was ready to lose their commander. He knew he would either die, or maybe... He might be able to convince the Elders that he was of use to them... He might even be put in to a stasis prison... He was ready to face the consequences, if it ensured that he could help save his realm from the power of the Chaotic, and the oppression of the Elders. He laid down and closed his eyes...::

::He walked up to the place of Quel'Thalas, where the Elders held residence. As he walked up, he could feel it... He could almost smell the stench of the Chaotics inside. He walked in. He was wearing his commanders cloak. He had gone and picked it back up later on during the day he had gone into hiding. He activated his Rune of Calling as he walked. This would give those at the training camp the ability to hear his conversation. A guard tried to stop him, but he had simply walked by... He had business only with the Elders::

::As he drew closer to the Elders audience chamber, he could feel the presence of the Chaotic get more and more powerful. He flung the doors open without knocking. There they were... The Elders with a Chaotic. His eyes began to glow fiery green. He looked at them infuriated. He let it be known in his voice:: I knew it! You are involved with the Chaotics!

::Fon answered calmly:: Ah Assadar... You came unexpectedly. Please hod on one second...

::He walked forward:: NO! I will not hold on! You are...

::Fon's voice raised a little, the first time Assadar had ever heard an Elder raise their voice:: Assadar. Wait! Ambassador ::He said to the Chaotic, resuming calmness:: I apologize for this. It is a matter of security. It seems there will be a punishment in order for this young one. Please leave us for now.

::The Chaotic sneered to Assadar, and bowed to the Elder. As he passed by Assadar, he bumped him, and then left. As he bumped Assadar, he felt it... Assadar could feel it... It was the same as when he had touched the elemental core before... He fought it and looked to the Elders:: I will not allow you to destroy our people! You are leading them toward destruction and you know it! This council is corrupt!

::Herow looked at him:: You always were to naive to know what was truly going on. You could have never seen the potential of what we were doing.

::Assadar's eyes began to glow fiery:: I am naive? I AM NAIVE!? You are leading our people to slavery and destruction by allying yourselves with the Chaotics, and you are calling me naive?

::Fon spoke up again:: Assadar... You do not understand... The power we can achieve from this alliance... We could... We could restore the Sun Well! We could achieve the greatness we deserve... The greatness that the Goddess of the Moon has been hiding from us for so long... The Chaotics can bring us that... The God of the Chaotics can bring us power Assadar!

::Assadar looked disgusted at them...:: Power? Power? Are you kidding me? Not to mention that you are turning your backs on the Goddess. Have you looked around the city lately? You are killing our people. The Chaotics will only enslave our people. They do not offer us power... Only death. I will have nothing to do with that, and I will not sit by idly and watch out people die...

::Sealte spoke up:: Assadar... What you speak of is treason! How will you perform this? The way you speak to us now is enough to warrant death!

::Assadar looked to her with anger:: If you wanted me dead, you would have killed me twenty-five years ago. Do not speak to me of death. You do not want me dead. I still server some purpose in your evil plot.

::Jurtya looked to him:: Do not seem so sure of yourself Assadar. You serve no purpose to us. We could have you killed right now.

::Assadar looked to him with eyes burning green:: Jurtya you fool. You are as power hungry as any of them. But even you would not dare kill me. Talk is cheap. You all wanted me to fight the Chaotics because you knew I could figure something out. I have, and you want to know. Do not think I am completely unaware of your spies. Avan, come out from that other room!

::Avan walked out. She had a look of embarrassment on her face:: How did you know?

::Assadar looked to her:: Are you kidding me, you are not that good. I knew you and the rest of the team had been spying on me for months. What have you told them...

::Avan looked to him:: All that I know... Unfortunately that is not as much as I could.

::Assadar looked right at her eyes:: I am so ashamed. To have a team of such disloyalty.

::Fon looked to the two of them:: Enough. Guards... Arrest Ex-commander Assadar.

::Assadar looked to Avan, then to the Elders:: You will not get away with this. I told you that you need me alive.

::Fon laughed maniacally:: We will only keep you as alive as we need you. Once you have cracked from the pressure, we will kill you. Even if it takes. Even if it takes another twenty-five years! Don't you get it Assadar. We will have our power, than we will take over the entire realm, and control everything in it. The Chaotics can bring us that power, and you are going to tell us how. Guards... Take him away!

::Assadar was dragged down to the prison below the palace. He was thrown in a cage. He sat there for a little while before a guard approached him. The guard had a hood on. He lowered the hood... Saken was underneath it. Assadar smiled:: Was that dramatic enough for you?

::Saken smiled:: You gave us just the time we needed to get transfers here to be close to you sir.

::Assadar smiled. Everything was going to plan. Avan had done her job well. Now if all was correct, Siphe would be here in the city as a psychic for the palace... Saken was his guard... Orin should have been able to get a transfer easily as a strategist, and Avan would be the one who "would be getting the info" needed from him. If all went well, the Elders would never know he was raising an army from right underneath there noses. Assadar smiled. Soon he would gain their trust... It was all a matter of time::

::He sat in quiet contemplation of the past five years. It had been five years since he had been placed in this prison. His guard was Saken, and the others frequently came for 'visits.' They claimed they were trying to extract information from him, but in actuality, they were giving him information, and often times food to keep him properly nourished. Avan had come to visit quite frequently... She had been assigned to 'torture' him. She had used the whip a few times, and when she came, she usually did do bodily harm to him, but it was for her safety, not his. He did not need his trustful bodyguard and spy getting caught. He laughed at the fact that he had been running the entire show from right underneath the Elder's noses. None of the Elders had come to visit him in one year. Assadar thought that they would have never come to this place. It was unsafe for them to venture this far down in their own palace... He was wrong::

::After one year of being locked in the prison, Elder Fon came to visit...::

::Fon walked down and toward Assadar. He was alone. Assadar started to laugh maniacally, and looked him directly in the eyes, and added quite rudely:: Well, Well, Well... If it isn't Elder Fon ::He bowed out of disrespect:: You turned my own team against me, and tried to get information from me, locked me down here for the past year, and now look at this... You come to visit... What is it I can do for you... Your Eldership? ::He was trying to be as rude and sarcastic as possible. It wasn't enough that he was making Fon angry, he wanted Fon to think he had gone mad::

::Fon walked up to the cell, and looked at Assadar calmly:: Assadar... I have a proposition for you... Your team has told me that you seem to be going mad down here, and from the looks of it... You are...

::He rolled his eyes, and laughed as maniacally as possible again:: Me? Mad? Elder Fon, I think you have it all wrong... I am not the one going mad, all of you are... But... I will hear your 'proposition.'

::Fon looked warily at him:: I can grant you freedom... But the Elders need something of you.

::Assadar was intrigued...:: What is it? It had better be good, I would not want to leave this pretty room you have set up for me...

::Fon looked at him:: Assadar, we need you to travel to a city, it is outside our realm. There, you shall find an elemental, non-Chaotic, and train from it. You need to learn the ways of the elements, and come back to help us defeat the Chaotics. You were right... They are starting to overrun us, and we need a pure elementalist's power.

::Assadar smiled to himself... He would go alright... But not for them:: I need time to think about it. Give me time...

::Fon smiled slyly:: Take all of the time you need Assadar... Do this for us, and you shall receive your title back, and we may even make you an Elder...

::Assadar smiled. He knew Fon was full of it, but he needed to be sure:: Give me sometime Fon. Give me one month to roll it over, and come back to me then.

::Fon nodded:: Of course I shall give you all of the time you need ::He turned and left without a sound. Assadar needed time for Avan to gain more information. He needed to be sure that the Elders were lying to him. However, if he did go and learn the ways of an elementalist, than he could come back even more ready to face the Chaotics, and lead his people to the peace that they had been dreaming about for so long. The army was nearly ready, and even if he left in a month or two, that would give him plenty of time to train while Saken ran things from here. He needed to see Avan. Saken was right around the corner, and walked in when he knew it was safe::

::Saken looked to him:: Sir, what will you do?

::HE smiled to Saken:: I will go of course, but I need Avan first, I need to know i what they speak is truth or lie. Tonight, after your shift, get her for me. I need her to do a little... Spying...

::Saken saluted, and gave an affirmative:: Sir!

::Excellent, Assadar went back to meditation, this was even better than he had planned. If this worked out, he would be in better shape than had he sat in here for the next year or two. He laughed, and began to meditate. Soon he would know his answer...::

He awoke from his sleep. Fon stood before him. "Assadar, will you go to this Rhy'Din and learn the ways of an elementalist? If you do, when you return, we shall bring you in with open arms, as the hero who taught us to destroy the Chaotics."

Assadar looked up to Fon, an eyebrow raised. "When do I leave?"

Fon smirked in the dark, but Assadar saw it. "Tomorrow if you like?"

Assadar smirked himself "Give me two days and I will be ready to leave."

"Two days? Why two?"

"Because Fon, I need time to pack all of my belongings." Assadar enjoyed being sarcastic to the Elders. He had sat in a cell for five years and two months. He had a right to be. Over the past two months, Assadar had been having his lieutenants gather infomation on the true nature of his 'retreat' to this realm known as Rhy'Din. Thus far they had uncovered that the Elders wanted him to learn the ways of the pure elementals so that they could use all of the power of all elements, stretching from pure to the Chaotics to rule the realm, and someday restore the Sun well, the ancient source of magic and eternal life for their people. He would indeed go to Rhy'Din, but not learn for their sake, but rather for his. He would learn anyway he could, then come back and defeat both the Elders, and run the Chaotics from their realm. Assadar did not want to rule with power, but he wanted to set up a group of new Elders. A group that would rule with benevolence, and set up a new order. A group of people that would bring his people into a new age, where the lust for magic had no power. A non-military state where peace could finally be restored to his people.

He had begun a rebellion more than one hundred years ago, and it would finally come to fruition within the next year. Assadar was patient. He came back to reality when Fon spoke. "Alright Assadar, two days. The journey should not take you more than three months. I will come for you in two days time." He turned and left. Once gone, Saken, Assadar's second in command came out of the shadows.

"Sir, what do you need us to do?"

"Saken, you are in charge while I am gone. Bring everyone else here tomorrow though, I have some very specific assignments for each of you. Meet here tomorrow two hours before sunrise."

Saken saluted "Sir!"

Excellent. Everything was going according to plan. It might take three months to get there, but Assadar had a handy Rune of Recall. This rune could recall him and anyone touching him to the city in an instance. It was always an awkward feeling, but with it, he could get back to lead the rebellion at anytime. Until then, he would play the game of the Elders... A game that would eventually lead to their demise...
