Jeremiah had been sitting there for quite sometime. His days in Rhy'Din had been quite pleasant thus far and he enjoyed sitting in the Marketplace and observing the people quite a lot. It was interesting to see the cultures that swept through. As he sat there at a little shop with a table out front, he was in bliss simply observing.

Storm was just returning from the docks, and was only slipping through the Marketplace to reach home. But, a sense of Earth had her grey eyes narrowing as she searched for the source. There!.. It was hard to miss the tall Earth, even if he was sitting. She manuevered through the crowd to approach his table, "Stil here I see."

He looked up to see Storm, e had felt her, as she had felt him no doubt. He smiled slightly, "You did not think you could get rid of me that easy did you?" He laughed to himself slightly, but maintained his smile.

She smirked, "It is not I, but this place." She glanced over her shoulder, a quick scan of those close by, before looking to him again, "Keeping out of trouble?" She raised a brow.

He had been keeping somewhat out of trouble. He was spending most of his days here in the Marketplace trying to observe the customs of Rhy'Din. He knew he already stood out of place with the way he looked. He did not want to be even more out of place. He blinked once before answering, "I have been doing my best to stay out of trouble. I hear however that you have gotten yourself into quite a bit of trouble however." He smirked a little, and added somewhat non-chalantly, but still with the greatest respect "I offer my best wishes to you and Ewan."

She was frowning slightly until his last sentence, and she could not help the steady and bright smile that came to her face, "Oh, thank you. It was lovely." She added on a sigh, her grey eyes having a far-away look for only moment, before looking back to him, "Whom did you hear from?"

He could see that Ewan made her happy. He smiled and answered "Why, from your father of course." Was there almost a teasing tone in his voice, or sincerity? It was hard to place.

Her eyes narrowed just the slightest at his non-chalant response, "Of course." She mumbled, before absently reaching to touch the coin-sized amulet around her neck. "How is your lady?" She asked politely, even if she refrained from using her name.

His eyes narrowed slightly. A little bit of pain seathed his heart, but he pushed it away. He smiled and laughed a little to bring some humor to the situation, "Your guess is as good as mine, Storm." He had wondered how she was doing as well, but did not want to see her at the moment. She had hurt him, but then again, it ended for a reason.

His almost nervous laughter brought a slight frown to her face, "And what is that suppose to mean?"

"It means what it does. Kiara and I went our seperate ways." He forced a slightly uncomfortable smile, even though his tone made it clear that the subject was not available for discussion right now.

She did not know what to think upon that, and so she schooled her features to show no reaction, "I am sorry to hear that." She said with sincerity, before clearing her thoat softly and changing the subject, "Have you ventured back into the Inn?"

He thought her quick change of subject to be odd, but he knew she was doing this for his sake. He went back to being somewhat cheery, "Not yet. I simply have not had a lot of time to do so. Lying around all day, and observing here in the Marketplace makes me tired. By the time dusk comes, I am so tired, I go right to sleep." He figured a joke would help lighten the mood.

She rolled her eyes slightly at that, "I am sure. I take it you have not ventured to your real home either?"

"Not yet." He had not ventured home yet, mostly because he had not had any reason to. He moved his eyes away from hers to her hands. He was surprised to see no ring. "Storm, I am surprised at you. Just married, and already you walk around without your ring?"

"Oh, we have not used rings. It is custom in his homeland to use amulets." She took hers off carefully to offer it to him to see. The amulet was adorned with symbols and decorations along the edge, hers being clouds, with symbols of a fish and a bird in the center.

He took the amulet in his hands. He twirled it around a bit, studying it very carefully. The offered it back to her. "It is very beautiful, and I truly do wish the two of you the best. I am sure not all of the others approve, but you two have my blessing." He smiled a sincere warm smile.

"Others?" She smirked and replaced the amulet with care, "Are we speaking of those that believe in preserving the true blood lines?" She said, her voice dripping with obvious disapproval, "Their opinions are only opinions."

He became suddenly solomn "I agree with you, love cannot be controlled. I am just saying that if the time ever arose where you needed to defend yourself and Ewan, you will have my support."

His words did little to soothe, and her face openly showed that she was irked, "As much as your kindness is appreciated, I think Ewan and I will handle the situation should it even ever arise." She in an almost painfully polite manner.

He smiled suddenly again, and began to chuckle, a light hearted chuckle. "I am sure you will, you are strong. I was simply offeing my help. We should find a time to meet, since I have been in Rhy'Din, I have not had adequate time to talk to you. I would like to share with you the story of why Kiara and I are no longer seeing each other, and why I came here, but I can see that you simply are in a slight hurry." He rose to give her a farewell.

She was unsure if she even wanted to hear that story, or what she thought about the twists in his words. Still, her eyes followed his standing motion as she stayed in her spot, "Yes, there are matters that we need to discuss." Was all that she offered.

He moved in slightly to kiss her right cheek, but thought twice about it, very unsure of what to do. He transitioned from moving in, to a slight bow and an awkward smile. "I shall see you soon than Storm, and please... Send my best to Ewan."

She stood still, watching him move into a simple bow of his head. Relieved, though that did not cross her face, she took a simple step back in the direction of home, and gave a slight nod in return, "I will. Stay out of trouble, Jeremiah." She repeated, just in spite, before turning and heading back home.

"Might need some pressing, he said." She mumbled almost irritably under her breath. The faint trail of her warm breath against the cool morning was the only visible sign of her spoken words. Her boots managed to be silent as she walked over fallen, dried leaves that would usually crump under such disturbances. Her dark blue cloak with the red bird brooch kept her warm, hands balled inside of the cloak's pockets.

She headed west, following a known trail and the increasing scent of the water. During her brisk pace, her thoughts momentarily trailing towards her next opportunity to sail again, and brought out an unexpected chuckle, easing the tension in her shoulders. She did not know what the yearning was for, the reason for sailing, the company that she would sail with, or the actual act of sailing. Shaking her head slightly to clear the thought, she continued on the search for the Earth.

That brought another frown to her face. It was unlike him, to abandon his responsibilities to his home and loved ones. Storm had a feeling that there was more to Jeremiah's appearance in Rhy'Din than his curiosity. She was willing to give him the time that he wanted, but the words of her father rang inside her ears. "Bugger, I cannot go back without him." She continued to mumble to herself, fixing her expression as she came into view of structures and buildings.

She turned her direction for the inn she knew Jeremiah was staying at, and continued on her easy but determined pace. She was going to convince that man to go back home, even if she had to drag him herself.

He had been around for close to a month now. That was only a minimal amount of time to actually be somewhere, and yet, he had neglected his duties as the Guardian of the Mountains. Truth be told, there was more to his absence than he wanted to give away. However, he knew that he would have to face her eventually. Until then, he would continue to put things off.

He sat inside of his room. He had just woken from an almost restless night. The more he thought, the harder it was for him to sleep, and yet, at this time, it was nearly impossible for him to shut his mind off at night. Thoughts of the other Guardians, and home, and all that had happened leading up to his permanent stay in Rhy'din, and yet, he knew that it would all be for nothing if he did not perform his duties as Guardian. He sat in thought for sometime, and was interrupted by the all too familiar presence of Storm approaching. He jumped off of the bed, and proceeded to get dressed. She was coming to see him, and that meant one of two things. Either he was in trouble, or she was. He readied himself, and awaited a knock at his door. He would be ready to stroll, that is, if she was.

"Ah, I see. My thanks, Richard." She offered the owner of the inn a faint smile, before heading towards the stairs. She did not need to ask of Jeremiah's location, she could already feel him inside, somewhere. But, she knew the owner from her amount of time that she spent here, though those days she did not dwell on. She had returned from the war with the Assadar, and had come home to dreams and the most upsetting news about Ewan. All that she remembered during her stay here was being unable to rest and being in a constant state of worry.

She started up the stairs soundlessly, moving the memories to the edge of her mind. Richard had said that the tall Earth was to his knowledge, in his room. How delicately phrased, she thought with a faint smirk, reaching the top of the stairs to only head up another flight. It did not matter, she knew that he was in here.

Once she made it to the top of the last set of stairs, she turned left, looking at the metal numbers displayed on the front of the doors. She schooled her features, before she moved to the door that was Jeremiah's, and gave it a firm round of knocks.

She knew that he could sense her presence, and she grinned. Perhaps that would only help in his visit home.

Once the door opened, the grinned remained as she raised a brow, "Still here, I see." She repeated from their last encounter, and she took a step back from his door, "Shall we talk a stroll?"

He awaited her arrival with anticipation. He had been staying in the inn for close to a month now, and he was almost tired of not having a true permanent residence. He had not taken the time to get to know anyone in Rhy'din, and it was starting to bother him. Maybe that is why he missed the other Elements. He laughed to himself slightly, he knew that was not true, but maybe he could come to believe that. He felt her presence ever more powerful as she approached. He stood from the bed, and straightened his jubba, he did not want to show Storm any emotion, or slight bit of weakness. The knock came. He opened the door, and bowed his head slightly as recognition to his fellow Elemental.

He heard her first statement, and replied. with a slight amount of sarcasm to his voice, "Of course I am Storm, as I told you before, I needed to make sure you would not get into too much trouble." As she stepped back, he took the opportunity to walk out of the door and close it. As he took the time to lock it, he turned his head slightly, and looked at her over his shoulder. "A stroll would be absolutely splendid."

She did not conceal her usual smirk at his response, "I already have someone who keeps me out of trouble." She muttered, though she knew he would be able to hear her words. She nodded faintly as he came outside to join her, and she did not hesitate to start back down the flights of stairs. She did not look at him for long, but when she did, she found that whatever his feelings or emotions were, he was not going to reveal them; well, besides his usual sarcasm. For now.

"Have you enjoyed your time here?" She asked him over her shoulder, trying to warm him into conversation, "It is not much like home, but Richard is an honest man who looks after those who stay." Hands going back into her pockets, she moved down the last flight, hearing his slight footsteps behind her. Jeremiah was probably not fooled by her topic of conversation, but she would keep the topic light until they were in a more open area. Once they were just about to exit the inn, she brought a hand up briefly in thanks to Richard, before stepping outside.

He followed her as she backed down the stairs. He had not quite gotten used to the smallness of the area around him. He had to bend down slightly to avoid some of the lower hanging beams. He did not smile at her remark about Ewan, in fact, he acted as though he did not hear it. He knew she would be making small talk until they exited the building. He knew just as well she did that to talk of things in a closed area where ears could be anywhere was not a good idea. Although he masked his true emotions, he went along with her conversation, smiling slightly as he answered her first question sarcastically, "Well, the alcohol is quite delicious, and I absolutely enjoy having to bend slightly every time I enter or exit through a doorway." He kept a straight face on the outside, but was much enjoying himself on the inside. He grunted slightly in agreeably with her statement of Richard. He too waved as they passed Richard, and just to throw Storm off a slight bit, as well as to see how she would answer before in an open area, asked "So what brings you to this inn at this time Storm? I thought you would be with Master Ewan at this time."

His comment on alcohol and his height had her sending him a glance over her shoulder that could be read as 'really, was that needed?' but she did not reply. She was not in a mood for playing games, especially word ones, which so happened to be one of Jeremiah's favorites.

Perfect.

"Oh, sometimes I would be, and sometimes I would not." she answered his last question as he joined her outside. There was no delay in her steps as she started down the path she came, were people were not absent, but their conversation was of no interest to anyone around, "He is taking Avery to Phen's right now, on a horse, mind you." She chuckled softly in memory, placing her hands back into the cloak's pockets before looking back casually up at him, "Or, I would be back at my other home, which is why I am here to speak with you. Your absence is surely upsetting your own, and Father made it quite clear that I am to make you go back. Even if it is for Guardian purposes only." She added, before continuing, "I do not think he will allow me to return without you, so I am here to do some.. pressing." She was studying his features closely for his reaction.

The thought of returning had traveled through his mind quite often since he had left for Rhy'Din. Yet, every time he thought of returning, Kiara came to mind, and he instantly blocked that from it. He knew that he had duties to perform, but the uncomfortable situation that he would be put in at that time outweighed any work load he may have later. He gave some thought to his answer before responding with the slightest bit of sarcasm to annoy Storm. "You know Storm, if Cornelious will not allow you to return without me, than you may have to extend your stay here just a tad bit longer than expected." His face showed that he found his statement quite hilarious, yet there was no laugh, and not a sign of a smile. He knew he had pushed Storm, but he wanted to know if there was any other reasons why she was here to talk to him. he wanted to know if she knew why he would not return.

With the trees soon coming into their path and view, she turned and scowled at him, "I am in no mood for games." She stated crisply, her steps taking them further into the trees and the earth. Persuasion? Maybe. She would make him comfortable in the atmosphere, even if she had a hard time seeing the sky. A gentle breeze surrounding them had her pulling the cloak just a little tighter around her.

She stared at him, "Jeremiah, I do not know why you have not returned, because you have not told me." She started smoothly, her steps again making no noise against the dried leaves, "And as much as I hold my family here dear, you know that I have to go between here and there. It is my duty and job, just as it is yours. Our people are finally regathering after the Chaotics, and you do not help lead them." She looked away for a moment, "If there is something that myself, Ewan, whomever, can help you with something, please, let me know. But we all need you to go back. Besides," There was a faint curl to her lips as she looked back to him, "I should not have to suffer for your choices."

As they walked down the path, he took notice of where she was leading him. He had been around long enough to understand that Storm was trying to appeal to his senses. He also knew that she would feel uncomfortable the more they went on. He listened to her words carefully. He knew that she was serious about what she felt, and when Storm became serious, generally, so did he. Although his attitude and mood had changed, his face showed nothing. His body language stayed the same, but he knew Storm would catch onto his serious nature.
"Storm, I am sorry for any and all trouble that I may have caused you or your family. Ever since I left, I have been very selfish. I have my reasons for having not returned yet, and the only way that I could foresee you helping me, is if you could convince Kiara to keep her distance. You are correct, that you do return, and I am sure that there is much else that I could learn from your time spent here in Rhy'Din. I shall return at once, and resume my duties as guardian, despite my not wanting to return to the amount of work I have ahead of me. I shall continue to remain here in Rhy'Din, but if ever you see me begin to fade into a point of selfishness again, please do me a favor, and slap me."
Although long winded, he had released some of the things he needed to say, and in a way had used Storm as someone he could vent to at the moment. It was unusual for him to do so, but there had been a lot to hold in for that long of a time. As he had talked, he had began to take them back the way they had come. He looked to Storm again, and stated, quite frankly "Sometime Storm, perhaps we can stop by the Teas'n Tones and we can discuss the full reason for my presence in Rhy'Din."

She remained quiet as she listened, hands tapping the inside of her cloak in silence as she thought. Glad that the sarcasm and teasing had ceased, Storm knew that all of his words reflected his true feelings. She did not mind being the target of his blunt and mildly heated words. Better her than anyone else, or not speaking them at all. "You know that I cannot force Kiara to abide by your wishes." Which, Storm figured was obvious by their short time here in Rhy'Din months before, "I will however, speak to her on my own behalf. Guard your heart well, and I do not think seeing her will be as much as a problem as you are making it out to be." She sighed softly, knowing those were not easy words for him to hear, but she was not to be the one who truly gave him comfort.

"You already know that I am anxious about you being in Rhy'Din, but I will not ask you to change your mind. You will do as you see fit. However, I will tell you where portals already are, and how to build more towards your liking." She glanced up as they cleared into the building area again, the clouds and blue sky bringing a small sense of contentment. "I would be more than happy to do as needed to keep you focused on your path." Her lips twitched slightly at the thought.

She stopped as they reached his inn, waiting for him to face her. He must be tired, or needing to prepare himself more for whatever was troubling him so, "I will meet with you whenever you like. Let me know when you are ready." She sent a faint smile, "Stay out of trouble, Jeremiah." She said as a farewell, before turning and heading back towards the direction of home.

After his time with Storm, he had done quite a bit of thinking. It was time for him to return to business. He had let his emotions take the better of him, and although he would remain in Rhy'Din as a permanent place of residence, he also felt the need to do as Storm had done, and return at least once a week to take care of things. The earth realm had apparently suffered since his departure and absence, and he felt personally responsible for this. He needed to speak to Storm in order to find the portals she had set, and also to hopefully set up some portals that were more comfortable to him. He had never been one to make house calls, so he left the inn he had been staying at, and headed for the marketplace, as he passed the desk, he made a gesture with his hand to the innkeeper, and nodded in thanks to him.
He exited, and headed down the alleys of Rhy'Din. This had become a normal practice for him. he much liked dark places that reminded him of the underground, and since these did not exist naturally in Rhy'Din, he took the back alleys instead. He arrived at his new favorite place, Teas'N Tomes. He quite enjoyed the atmosphere. He ordered a cup of tea, and waited outside at a table he much enjoyed sitting at to watch the people of the marketplace. He had learned much from the time he spent watching the people. He hoped that Storm would walk by, or at least come close enough for him to get a feeling from her gift. But until then, he would wait and observe.

The breeze toyed with her curls as she started through the Marketplace, her usual pack resting on her back. She was delaying her trip home by walking to a portal farther away than the one at home. Hands tucked inside of her cloak's pockets, she was just about to step away form the Marketplace when her pace suddenly ceased. She paused, tilting her head slightly as she considered, before turning her path towards a usual gathering place. If she was going to head home, than she might as well have forced company.

Grey eyes peered around the corner at the figure sitting outside on the Teas'n Tomes, and she had to grin. There was something to be said about a tall, large individual nursing a delicate cup of tea. Making her presence more known, she walked past him, offered a smile and held up a finger for him to wait, before she stepped inside. Another smile for the woman behind the counter, she exchanged coin for a simple cup of black tea. She then turned back around and moved outside, taking a seat at Jeremiah's table with long sigh, "See anything of interest?" She asked him as he seemed to be watching those who where walking around the Marketplace.

He smiled to himself as he watched Storm walk up to the table. He went to say something, but then saw her finger. As she walked in, he understood the nature of why she had silenced him. As he waited for her to come back, he took another sip of his tea, and continued to observe the people of the marketplace. As she arrived back at the table, he watched as she took the seat across from him. He narrowed his eyes a slight amount, and without taking his eyes off of the crowd of people in the marketplace added with some interest behind his voice, "Storm, so many different cultures pervade this area. Some do not even speak the same language, yet, they all speak one language..." He paused for a second and looked from the people to her, "Money." As he finished, he lifted his cup, and took another sip. He added politely, "It is very nice to see you Storm, and it is quite a coincidence that you chose this table to sit at, as I have a favor I must ask of you."

Storm Divine

Once she took a seat, her hands automatically went around the cup, supplying warmth to her almost always chilled fingers. When he looked away from her towards the crowd, her eyes followed his. She did not see anything unusual on this day, just the usual vendors with people passing by. Of course, Storm had stayed within Rhy'Din for over a year now, and Jeremiah just barely a month. The thought made her inwardly wince, how casual she thought some things now. She remembered being similar to him, being curious to the melding of cultures. His comment however, only received a faint smirk from her and nothing more, and she brought up the tea to her lips.

"Coincidence indeed." She barely murmured with a hint of sarcasm. Letting another comment slip away from her mouth and mind, she took another sip, enjoying the sensation of the warmth from the liquid. "Most excellent, as I have a favor of you. You may go first." A quick grin, her attention on him.

Jeremiah Pahadz

He looked at her, a tad bit of a quizzical look on his face. His eyebrows were raised, simply for the sake of showing interest. He recomposed himself, and began, became serious, "I have returned home, but it is quite a difficult and time consuming activity. I was wondering if you could show me where the portals that you have created, and show me if there were any other ways that I could create my own portals. This would help me in my plan to return more often." He had a sincere look on his face, and waited for her reply.

Storm Divine

Date: 2007-11-19 20:58 EST
"Mmm, of course." She swallowed her sip quickly, setting her cup down and out of the way, "Portals for me are not so difficult, for you though, I am not so sure. You best ask Shawn about that one. You can use mine for now though, and I can make a few more that are closer to your area."

Her eyes took their usual faint glow as she accessed her gift to draw a large rectangle over the table with her finger. The movement left a noticeable grey smoke trail, as if she was drawing on the table. It was a simple trick of the light, and one that would not last for long if she did not speak quickly. Her map of the town was rough, as she certainly was not an artist, but it was very accurate in her landmarks.

"The easiest one for you is probably here," She pointed a finger southwest of the inn he was staying at, the small smoky dot taking a red hue. "The other ones are here, here..." and she continued on, playing the red dots along the map, around the inn, in the forest to the north, near the Scathachain Sanctuary, and of course, her home. "Try not to use the one near my home unless you must. For your safety and mine." Not to mention her family, "Not many know of who you are, nor your connection to me. Let us see how long we can play off that." Once she knew he had a good long look, she waved her hands over to distort the image and let the smoke rise and vanish.

"Anything else I can show you?" She takes another sip of her forgotten tea.

He watched as she drew the town. It was not the best map that he had ever seen, but it was a clear representation of the town. He watched and listened as she told him the "rules" of using the portals. He had no intention of putting her or her family in danger. Having heard where the portals were, he knew that he could return to the business that he had neglected for so long.

He smiled and nodded to her "Thank you Storm. Your help will greatly affect the way that I return to business. As you suggest, I will return to my realm, and speak with Shawn. Hopefully he wil be able to provide me with information on how to create portals that I can use

He stood, indicating that he was ready to leave. He bowed slightly as indication that he was thankful for her help. Then added "Until we meet again Storm, safe travels, and give my regards to Ewan and Avery." He offered a parting nod, before turning to walk away.
