He had been in town for all of three days, and already Assadar had been in trouble with the authorities of the town.
For an elf that doesn't want trouble, you sure do know how to make a scene. He thought to himself as he left the authorities office. Never did he think that he would be able to do that when he left Quel'Thalas. However, he had gotten some information out of it. He found out that the house where the elemental power source had come from was that of Storm Divine's, the woman he had seen in the bar the night before. Now it was time to investigate.
He was charged with finding an elemental guardian that could help him and his people, and he was going to finish his job. There had to be some connection between this Storm woman and the elementals. The marketplace would be a good place to start.
He headed into the marketplace. There were people everywhere, someone had to know about this Storm woman. Then again, he was on posters all across town explaining that he was a suspect in her murder. Hopefully someone did not know how to read...
He saw an old man selling what appeared to be gems.
You there old man, can I talk to you for a minute?
Me sir? What would a young elf like yourself want with an old man who sells gems? You look of some importance, so I am sure it is not my fine selection...
Yes you sir, do you know of a Storm Divine? I believe her house burned down the other night... I was wondering if you knew of her...
Yeah I know of her... What do you need?
Well, I was there when it happened, and I just...
Oh... Your the bloody elf who is suspected of her murder... What should I tell you? She was a nice girl. Never wanted any trouble... And you had to go and...
Hold your tongue old man, I helped to stop the fire, and I was released of the charges
Got any better ideas of who did it...? Didn't think so, so I will say good bye sir. Please leave me in peace before you burn my stand down.
Many of Assadar's talks with the merchants went that way. He was starting to see that Storm was popular with these folks, and that as a newcomer, especially one with his reputation at that point, he just was not. It was starting to get late, and he needed to get some sort of information out of these people before he turned in for the day...
Psst...
What the...
Don't turn around... What do you want to know about Storm?
Who was she?
She was an elemental guardian of the air realm... Anything else?
No... Assadar started to turn around But I must know... But the stranger was gone...
A little awkward, but at least Assadar had some very useful information. So if Storm was really an air elemental, then maybe he could find some more information at her house. He would leave that for another day though. The strange man was also weighing on him, but maybe he was just a man trying to help a stranger out. Maybe Storm had some friends as well... He could ask around later... At this point he needed to find a place to stay. The streets were a fun place to stroll the first night, and the second night he had found himself sleeping in the jail when he had awoken from his fainting, but maybe he would retreat to the Inn for now and think of another plan of attack...
