Chapter I || The First Step Towards Change

He dressed as usual this night. Dressed from head to toe in proper evening attire, looking as if he was going to a business meeting or a casual night out. He seemed to always know how to dress even though the rest of the city enjoyed being clad in armor as if war could break out at any moment.. He had just finished eating a nice plate of fish with mixed veggies in the tavern. But he preferred the sea food from Mahikanah rather than anywhere else. He took out a cigar and matched it up with a stick from his matchbox. Taking a few puffs then walking through the alley way towards the Belarus estates that were sort of still under its 2nd phase of construction. Seemed upon the leaders death that certain gears would turn in the plans to set off a large chain reaction throughout the empire.

Dust had guessed he was a part of this change. He could already feel his own core begin to twist and turn in his body as changes slowly turned his body. But it was something he had been use to by now, the pain was no longer a feeling that effected him anymore. He was changing from the regular Imperial Core to an advanced model that only very few saw but the entire universe heard and talked about them like they were some mythical creature that was more of a symbol of hope and peace. The bringer of Live and Death, War and Peace, Construction and destruction. He was finally stepping up to par with his brother Ash.. he was slowly changing into the Imperial Core Elite.

Sarah knew Dust would be coming home soon; she was eagerly waiting for his return. By now she had become more comfortable with her surroundings within their room. The bathroom was still the most feared part of their room; after all she still had to understand how the bathroom took a mind of its own when she was going into the room to bathe. Still, she worked through her fears and her nervous habits when Dust was away to prove to herself that she could take care of herself; so that Dust wouldn't have to worry about her while he was away.

She was now bringing the long orange and golden strands of her hair to a braid on her head, there were still a few things she liked doing by hand. Next to her were the goggles she treasured above many other things she first received when she began a new life with her beloved. The pouch, the blades, all of them had become a way of life to her; all of them had taken their proper place at her side.

She paused over the pouch, the keeper of the gift Ash had given her on one of the few times they had met. The small flower within was a constant reminder to her that she was welcomed by Dust's family. Slowly the pouch was sealed and placed in its proper place on her figure. Then the goggles came, wrapped over the top of her head. Next were her boots and then her necklaces, always ever changing. She never removed the token of love between Dust and herself, the silver ring with the three diamonds upon it.

When she had first been gifted with such a token she didn't know what it meant, but now she knew just what it meant. She loved the pace her and Dust were moving at. The slow moves they made together, it was just the symbol to her that time didn't matter between them, that there love was constant. She now had all the time in the world, she knew that, and so did he. The more she thought of these things, the more there was that pulse against her forehead. A migraine beginning to build, but she pushed it aside. Too eager to see her Beloved.

Shiny leather shoes moved one after the other at a regular pace, he wasn't in a hurry, just relaxing for the evening. He was now crossing over the bridge. The trickles of water passing underneath the bridge became a quick outburst when it shifted up onto the supporting beams below. His eyes trailed off down the river that passed through the city and to the sea. Looking to the light house he could see the light was replaced. An odd expression played across his face, remembering that he threw a brick at that light that spun around in circles. Just went to show how efficient the local government was to replace a light for a damned sea tower, although they never really focused on cleaning up these dirty streets.

The recession was really taking its effect on the city no days. Things were more expensive, fuel for his ship was murder, but those were always terms he could work with. He felt it was wrong for him to tap into the family's fuel surplus for his own needs. But it seemed he would have to soon. He snapped from his focus on his thoughts and to the estates which he could see from the bridge as he walked across it. His eyes remained on the back docks of the estates.

The large concrete wall that surrounded the estates prevented him from seeing the live sprawling inside. He could do nothing about that other than walk around the front to the large metallic blast doors. A guard house was built in front of the estates recently, or at least it was bigger and more established then the one that was there before. He looked to the men inside the guard house seeing the majority of them sitting around a table eating dinner and watching the late news wire. Two stood outside on either side of the blast doors clad in black armor with assault rifles in hand. Another sat on a stool in front of the guard window where the drop gate was.

He was starring at a computer screen for a moment before the automated guns picked up Dust's life patterns came into full circulation, aiming their sights on Dust before the guard at the window signaled for the gates to be opened for Dust. Dust smiled to the men and nodded to them. He was proud of them all, all willing to give their lives just to protect those of the estates. Questioning everyone and never taking second guesses. They even stopped Dust to identify him. Yes, Dust was proud of them all. The large blast doors opened only a few feet compared to opening all the way. Just enough for Dust to walk through.

The two guards nodded to him as he passed through and onto the main estates courtyard. The architecture was based on a more civilized and honorable Japan. Most people around these parts hadn't known what Earth was or what universe it was a part of. It was lifetimes away and too far away for many to even pay notice. Dust saw no reason to ever travel so far across empty space to visit the backwater planet, but Ash saw some reason at one time.. It only seemed like a two decades before Ash was able to gain the eyes and ears of the people of that galaxy and become hunted down by another empire known as Rome. The first signs of humans were far too primitive to understand Ash and his powers. Eventually Ash left the planet to rot promising that planet and his followers that he would return one day.

Dust chuckled at the thought of Ash making the trip. But at least he brought back one thing with him, the beautiful architecture of the estates he now called home. He looked about once more to see the floating lanterns over the water garden. Then looked to see the master unit. The large building at the head of the estates where Ash and Aya used to live. Now Dust and Sarah lived there. Since now he would be known as the Emperor and she would be the Empress. an odd changing of events but one he promised he would step up to if the situation called for it.

The warm kiss of fire brushed at her exposed arms while she shimmied into her white tunic. Her hips swished from side to side and she turned to pick up the silver skirt with the slit up the side. Brushing her fingers over the silken fabric and testing it carefully. Once she had gathered it was perfect she stepped into it, yes it was an odd way of dressing, but she had seemed a bit scattered brained as of late. Her head was throbbing while she sighed, eyes gazing towards one of the windows as if she could feel him coming in her gut. Her golden orbs scanned the window slowly before she turned back to the process of meeting him. Once she had established that her attire was perfect she moved onwards towards the door way. Turning the knob in her fingers she bit her lip. Taking once last glance towards the mirror before heading out.

It was normal to see Sarah moving about the Estates by herself, but since it was a new building she took her time gathering her direction within this place. As she left the room she managed to find her way towards one of the holograms displaying the map. Following it for several moments, remembering the path before her, she gages the best path to meet Dust half way on his usual journey through the Estate. Fingers came to rub at her temples and she closed her eyes. A deep breath being drawn weakly in and then pushed out. She was beginning to dread this coming migraine and the pain that was coming with it.

Gritting her teeth she sat up her eyes opening so that she could focus. Avoiding the fact that the migraine started to slowly push pain through her neck. It was slowly trickling through her, but she found still that nothing was being a bother. Ignoring the pain she pushed off once more. Making her way along the memorized path and down the moving steps before her she tried to remain focused. She paused here and there to glance about and gather her direction once more.

Fingers moved to her pockets, considering the fact that maybe her migraine was caused because of her lack of the weed within her cigarette. Pulling out the cigarette and then a match from within the confines of the pocket she paused in her steps. Bringing the filtered end to her lips she brought the match to life. Letting the smoldering flame kiss at the end while became cherry red. Shaking the fire away she continued to move onwards.

Yet, the migraine continued to grow. She growled in aggravation and shook her head. Still her mind was racing over the recent events and she tried to avoid the pain. Still she felt like she was getting closer to Dust. For some reason her need for him growing as she began to feel the ach spreading over her shoulders and arms. Maybe she should have just waited in the room for him...

Like a ripple through the air he could feel everyone in the estates. He had known that a group of guards had just left the training facilities and were heading back to the barracks where they could turn in for the night. He had known that birds were in the trees feeding their young before they went off to bed. As everyone seemed to be going to bed, he could also feel all the life sparking into motion. He could feel the heart beats of dozens of men and women across the estates as they all were getting up and ready for their night shift within the estates.

Soon the courtyard, the halls, and the individual buildings themselves would be occupied with numerous personnel working their shift. He could already feel a large group of men and women heading to the estates large docking facility where they would load and unload supplies, equipment, and shipments that would later be going back out and shipped to other locations. He knew these knew shipments would be loaded onto the large industrial sized elevator in the P.A.W. (Paraphernalia - Armor - Weapons) Storage facility.

The elevator lowered itself some 400 meters below the surface of the city to a whole other facility with a large network of tram systems tunnels leading to all sort of other facilities within a 500km radius. One of which had included the Dragon Head Dam and Void complex. He could feel all of these things just as Ash did. It was a sure sign that the effect had been taking an acute effect on him. With this happening he could also feel something knew..... The birth of a new Imperial Core. It's life seemed very familiar to him, quickly he processed these things and came to the final conclusion.. Sarah.

He began to quicken his pace as he had drawn himself around a few more corners, passing soldiers and other personnel, Grabbing the attention of a medical team over his com-set and notifying them of his current location and where he would be going. Two soldiers of the Crimson Guard had overheard the radio frequency and rushed to Dust's side just as he took one last corner to the location where Sarah and himself usually met up during this time.

Sarah was running late, she wasn't there to meet him at their usual spot. She was pausing even more so with every throbbing pain rushing through her head. Her eyes were beginning to lose focus, the pain being just that great. The pain was beginning to rush through her arms, through her finger tips, her chest and down her hips. She knew by now this wasn't a normal migraine, for the sheer fact that her chest was beginning to pulse in pain. Her hand, shaking wildly had moved to grip at her chest. A few grunts coming from her as she continued to ignore it and avoid the fact that it was gaining speed and taking her over.

Shaking her head as if to shake it off she pushed forwards, yet what she thought was a quickened pace was just the difference, she was slowing down. Her hand was gripping the rail next to her, guiding her steps as she traveled along the memorized way. The path she moved upon, the very direction she took was all by memory and not by sight. she wasn't even sure she was going in the right direction. Truth be told, she wasn't. She had made a turn somewhere along the line that was either too late or too soon.

Finally she just came to a stop, knowing that by now she was acting the fool to keep going. Dust would find her, she could feel it, just like she could feel the ebb of pain building in her knees. It was working its way down, she was more than aware of that. When it hit her knees at full force she buckled and toppled forwards. That was when the pain won. Her cry of agony suddenly coming. She was finding it difficult to keep her arms up, to hold herself from the ground beneath her. There was a pulse of pain and again she cried out, toppling forwards, her face meeting the smooth surface beneath her.

"Red flag to ground units. I need a proximity search around the Head Manor. Check benches, sidewalks, check....." before he could finish his orders he felt it again, another ripple sent through the air, he could feel her pain like it was his pain, or was his changing causing him pain as well? He couldn't tell, he only knew that finding her was the important thing. "...Cancel last orders. Red Flag to Crimson Unit 24, meet me at Aounah Cli courtyard. Over" The response back was a simple affirmative.

He ran off the walk and pounced off from the ground and caught his footing on the rooftops now. The Aounah Cli courtyard was only 2 houses away. Only the big houses were in the way. He leaped from roof tile to roof tile till he reached the tip top of the Aounah Cli manor and looked down. Even with the well lit walkways and grassy strips the night made it equally challenging to see anything. His eyes quickly switched through the spectrum by adjusting the shape of the cornea and making the iris' stretch its binary muscles to the point where it could collect more light and even exchange it for a thermal view of his surroundings. The pupil of his eye began to see the courtyard.

The crimson guard had already been there. Quite the effective unit. He had spotted Sarah below, near a railing on the pathway. "Red flag to Crimson unit 24. I've spotted her. Get the medics on the com and tell them to stand by." He leaped from level to level as he got closer to the ground. Landing near the crimson commandos but not startling them any. He looked to Sarah and held her in his arms as he stood up. "I hadn't expected this kind of change to take place so soon."

Sarah had screamed, just screamed in severe terror as her head began to feel like it was splitting open, literally. Her body rolled as she pushed herself onto her back violently. She shrieked once more and her hands clapped to her head. Her back arched up and it was as if her whole body began to snap in places she never thought it could have before. She was thrashing about, the pain now taking over her entirely. When the guard found her she was beyond response, unable to be controlled when she scraped about the floor of the court yard beneath her. It wasn't until Dust was felt coming closer that she slightly calmed. Whimpers coming from her lips as her eyes flashed open wide. Seeing him come into view and dip down over her was more than she needed.

Still in the throes of agony she reached out for him, at least she thought she had. Her body remained limp even when he picked her up. As he spoke she jerked once, twice, and then screamed shrilly when the pain made another pulse through her body. Her hand shot up and gripped at his shirt, nearly ripping it at the edges. Gasps for breath were pulling through her lungs; she was trying to breathe through the pain, terror pushing up into her eyes. His words hadn't been registered, but by the look on his face she could tell that there was more to this pain than she had expected.

He looked into her eyes seeing the change was taking place there as well. It was a work of art really. Seeing something change so dramatically was like watching blue skies and white clouds clash into a large storm of destruction. He smiled to her seeing that it would end very soon. He knew he was going through some final stages himself. He looked to a nearby bench, seeing its green cold paint decorate itself with oranges and red swirling about in a sand storm like manner.

The morning dew had already settled and he didn't want her clothes to become wet. His eyes focused on the bench and watched as the dew steamed up in swirls and soon evaporated into a nice dry place to lay her down. He walked over to the bench with the crimson guards at his side. They watched with tense thoughts as they knew they would part take in such changes soon. Only theirs would take place in the secure strong hold of the Void complex. Orange hues looked over her newly changed body.

These changes seemed very sudden and violent to him. He's seen this happen before but never like this. Was it because her body knew Ash was gone.. that Dust would assume the thrown and change into an Imperial Core Elite? That she would have to undergo the changes too in order to become impress? Maybe so. He felt his blood like liquids in his body boil and change as well. He felt like his body knew no limits and his mind was like space.. filled with beauty, destruction, and an infinity. He wanted to change quickly so he could better assist his love.

Like powerful amps of life he held her close to him, like he could quicken the changes and make it all better. The Imperial core's were still a complete mystery. So advanced and yet not fully understood on how they did what they did, why, and how. He just knew he had to help her somehow. He bent over her figure and kissed her lips. "It will be alright my darling."

She kept her gaze with his, locking as she trembled and clung to him. Inside her body was experiencing things she never imagined possible. From first kiss those many months ago to now Sarah was determined to realize that someday she'd become a core. Bone was transforming from marrow and calcium into bio-alloy, the very same that was a part of Dust.

Bones were breaking under the pressure and mending violently in her, more screams echoed through the court yard. The crack of her bones doing so echoed around her, entering the ears of the wary guard around them. No longer able to keep them open her eyes shut tightly. Back feeling the cold metal of the bench beneath her. For a time it was soothing, relaxing, and calming. She gained some process of thought until she felt her skull crack and then mends into alloy.

Once more her hands slapped against her head and she shrieked out desperately. Her figure thrashed and she almost collapsed from the bench that she had been placed on so tenderly. Her ribs were snapping, shattering as the alloy shaped and curled around the soft tissue of her lungs. Breaths were null at the moment, she was unable to breathe through the whole process. Her arms were cracking, chipping, splitting until the alloy was secured and shaped. That same process was tearing through her entire form and she was beginning to feel numb with pain.

Again her eyes shot open as the pain focused around her chest. Her hands gripped at her shirt, trying to tear it off roughly, nails scraping over the fabric. Her heart was starting to cave in. The pressure too great, she couldn't help it. Feeling his lips meet hers at the right moment she had something to focus on. A shrill cry of agony came against his lips as her heart collapsed inwardly. Moving in upon itself until there was a perfect orb the size of a ping pong ball remaining within her chest. The core, her core, took shape within her as he comforted her.

The coming of easing agony began to wave and ripple through her from her chest outwards. Her grip loosened from her own shirt, holes formed at some points where her nails dug in. The rest of her figure went limp and the last of her cries died out. Eyes were shaking madly as she tried to understand what had just happened. Still there was no words from her, her whole body achingly sore, pain still ravaging at parts the dwindling, calming wave had yet to reach.

Dust looked to her with a smile as he saw the worse had passed. He could feel her core ripple through time and space as she was now reborn. Partial Imperial Core.. the next phase would begin in a few weeks, maybe sooner. He felt her skin, rubbing his hand up her arm to her neck, pulling her into a kiss as he looked to her. "You'll be just fine." That smile of his showed concern for her well being and left a mark of light in his persona.

He looked to one of the Crimson Guards and motioned to the water unit they had strapped to their sides. Without question the Crimson Guard unstrapped the unit and handed it to Dust. Loyal men they were. He grabbed the unit snapped the cap off and handed it to Sarah. She would need her fluids. He knew her Cell wouldn't accommodate her any longer now that she had changed. She would need to be outfitted with something different like what he would be wearing soon.

"Sarah drink this. You going to need to drink a lot of water or something to rebalance yourself. as of right now your only half Imperial Core, half human. It's going to be odd but soon you'll find yourself not being as hungry or thirsty. But you'll need to eat and drink anyways." He looked to her once more, seeing and feeling a new her. It only troubled him some knowing that the more Imperial Cores there were, the more threat of attack from the Nano Empire.

He wished he could just as easily destroy them all with ease. But he knew it wasn't possible at this moment. He broke his focus from that thought and looked to the Crimson Guards. "At ease men. Thank you for your assistance. You'll be receiving double rations this month. I would like to extend my gratitude by giving you a pay raise."

The guards looked to Dust with smiles as they were trying to keep a serious face on. They bowed to Dust and stood at ease for the moment, yet keeping aware of their surrounding just in case something unexpected would happen. '-' Thank you, Sir! '-' The two guards replied.

Once more she could feel his touch, suddenly more aware of than she had ever in her time with him. The sensation of his lips against hers was different, but still as heavenly as before. Her core pulsed in response, another calming wave surging through her form slowly. His words rippled through her mind, taking them in easily as she looked to that smile on his lips. She could see the light in that smile, it was soothing more than he could have ever imagined. Her hand sought out the closest thing she could of him, his hand. Squeezing it softly in a response.

As he sought out the water she was feeling the last bits of changes moving over her toes, it just felt like she had smashed them against the hard surface of something before the pain practically died in an instant. As he held out the unit to her, her hand left his. A nod coming from her as she moved to sit up a bit. His words being understandable to her.

Tipping back the container she drank from it slowly, lightly while each bit of hydrating fluids trickled down her throat. Each ounce was taken in as she observed him in his deep thought. Trying to understand what was coming over him as sore muscles calmed and relaxed for her to move a bit easier. Coming to sit up before him she exhaled when the water had finished its course to her gut. For a moment it looked as if she wasn't going to hold it down, but another drawn breath brought that image to a halt.

Her golden orbs turned to gaze to him, taking in lines and features of his face as he addressed the Crimson Guard. Her head lifting almost instantly as she came aware of them. She smiled to their delight and wondered for a moment what had just happened. A questioning gaze turned back to Dust, not fully aware of just how much her body had changed. All she knew that she was in pain and then she wasn't. She felt refreshed for some reason, but at the same time she was weary. Tired eyes locked with his as the guards spoke their appreciation.

Again her hand shakingly sought out his own. She cupped it softly and squeezed it. Finally finding something to say," Dust?" It was all she needed to say in order to gain understanding from him. To get the answers he knew she needed to have answered. Strands of golden wheat hair were draping over her face, having come undone from her braid. Fogged eyes finally unclouded and she blinked once then twice. Her sigh coming lightly as another comforting pulse rippled through her figure from the new core sustaining her life in place of her now replaced heart.

"I won't be needing your assistance for now men. Enjoy the rest of your shift and I'll see you in the morning for combat training." He smiled then took hold of Sarah's hand and walked to her side. The Guards saluted and then walked off back to their posts.

Dust looked to Sarah for a moment, giving her a gentle kiss then helping her to her feet. He needed to walk her back to their manor and get some rest for the time being. He thought for a moment when she called out his name. It actually sounded like she needed to ask him something important. He looked back over to her as he wrapped his arm around her, walking one foot after the other, trying to get her use to this new figure she adopted to. "Yes darling?" He had known that questions were coming one way or another.

She was still new to this universe of his and she still had a lot to learn and acknowledge. He was glad she hadn't fallen victim of culture shock. He would try his best with her no matter what. He needed to instruct her as if he were Ash. He needed to inform her of everything there was to know even if it seemed small and pointless - He had known she still had troubles with the bathrooms AI. He snickered a moment thinking about that and then tried to imagine her trying to coop with the bathroom. He couldn't help but laugh aloud for a moment. He could see their manor up ahead just a few dozen yards away. It was another great night despite the changing. His body still shifted inside and transformed into his own little creation.

Each step was odd, different... Not as heavy as they used to be. She felt stronger than before, but still quite a bit strange. One hand was locked with his and the other moved to wrap over his shoulder. Bracing herself with his frame just in case the pain started all over again. One leg moved after the other and she turned to look up at his face once again. She was more tired than she had imagined, the sleep gripping to her eyes while they moved towards the manor. Her head came to rest on his shoulder for a moment as she thought. Feeling him wrap her up in one of his arms she felt even safer than she had before. She was always safe in his arms, always safe by his side.

She remembered so long ago when he spoke,' As long as I am by your side you are safe.' Now she felt more and more of his words being true. He had always come to her rescue, always kept her safe. She ever wondered if he'd grow tired of saving her, grow weary of coming to her aid. Her eyes scanned the area and then searched for his face once more. Looking up at the copper hues intent on seeing that she got home, that they got home and rested. It wasn't a matter of her being caught off guard by the wonder of his world, it was the reason she stayed besides her ever growing love for the man besides her.

Hugging him closely and sighing she shook her head, just wanting to stay in his warmth for the moment," I'll ask you tomorrow when we have more time love." She was going to be sure to do so. It would help her in the next steps they would have to make, that she'd have to take. It was time for her to take a step back and understand more of what had happened, was happening, and what was to come.

Seeing the Manor in view she sighed with relief. Smiling as she whispered up to him," It's so beautiful... Don't you think?" Her hand lacing fingers with his, the silver band of her ring rubbing against his flesh as she did so.

He looked to the manor and saw nothing but rest awaiting the two of them. "Alright darling. Tomorrow you can ask me as much as you'd like and I can assure you that I'll have the answers." He smiled to her as they walked closer and closer to the steps of the Manor.

Hearing her speak once more about something. Obviously the Manor, where they were at in their lives together. Yes it was beautiful, he enjoyed their time together. He was glad he was assuming the role as Emperor, less wars he's have to fight. He smiled at the thought. "Yes.... it is beautiful." He walked up the steps and opened the front sliding doors.

Their room was up stairs and in the center of the house. He helped her up the steps knowing that even thought it was easy for her, it was just as easy to make one false step and tumble down to the floor. Once they had reached the top of the stairs he made a quick left and saw a hall with no doors on either side. Just statues and holograms that slowly shifted and rotated on display. The large red oak wooden door leading to their room slid open to reveal their bed to the far left and a fire place to the far right.

There were a few other rooms attached to this one. The bathroom, Library, Office/study, and the large expanse of closet space that he used for actual clothing instead of the cube Sarah had seen him use in the past. He only used the cube if he was away on trips and needed to make a quick change of attire. He walked her over to the bed and let her go watching her fall back onto the silk/fur bed. He chuckled, he was just teasing her. He jumped onto the large bed and sunk into its comfy bed spread with a sigh of comfort escaping his chest. "So comfortable. I could fall asleep just like this." Instead he forced himself up off the bed, disrobed and slipped beneath the covers. He looked to Sarah and wondered if she was able to manage slipping into bed... O_o

Sarah would take those steps up the stairs slowly. Feeling her legs growing sore again from their recent stress. She kept him close and walked with him. She was trying to keep up with him and his pace. Squeezing him tightly in a hug she murmured to him as she saw the door to their room in sight," That has to be the most wonderful sight I've seen all day other than your glorious face Love." Relief on her lips while she moved closer and closer towards those doors and the rooms connecting beyond them. She gazed up at him and then to the bed as they gathered closer.

Taking in the fine silks layering the bed along with the furs. She always loved how warm the beds were, having forgotten the cold and lack of warmth she had before the night she finally found the embrace of the one next to her. As he settled her on the bed she gave another sigh, finally feeling relief in her legs. Her fingers came to fidget with the laces of her boots, quickly removing them along with the other articles of her clothing and the various accessories. She sorted them on piles, the more important items moved to the dresser as he came to a pounce upon the bed. Looking over to him with a loving smile she listened to his words.

Giggling lightly before meandering to the bed and settling underneath those glorious covers. She did it rather easily, but once she had felt the fabric wrap around her warmly she let out one little wince of ach and turned her head to look to him as he lay there besides her. She managed to squirm so that she was cuddled close to his figure," Sleep my love. Tomorrow is a new day... filled with my curiosity... It's been a while since I've asked you questions. I hope you can handle them." She laughed, bringing her head to rest on the pillow next to his head.

"No worries my darling. You?re not the only one who has changed. I have all the answers to all the questions you could manage to amuse me with." He smiled to her, wrapping an arm around her figure and pulling her in close to his body. He loved her, it was true. He had thought love would not find its way to his door step. But sure enough he had found it. "Sleep well darling. I have a full day tomorrow and you need to rest up." He gave her a kiss than closed his eyes to catch the rest he would need for the new day that quickly approached.

Chapter Two || The Silence Before the Storm: The day after.

The sun was placing itself near 9 o'clock in the evening. Dust had been spending his entire day focusing on the deconstruction and transportation process of the estates. Two Crimson Guards had followed him most of the day. Dust was surprised they had been able to keep up with his busy schedule and his relentless ways of always being busy. "I need all of this taken down by the end of the week. Once the lower levels have been empty's I want the place ready and charged for demolition. Then filled with concrete. Understand." He signed a clipboard and the man just nodded and rushed off to get things done. Looking to the Import/Export Offices and buildings he walked over to them and wondered about all of it. Everything was being loaded onto the elevators and sent to the lower levels where they would be placed on the trams and sent off to the mountain. Everything was going. Not one thing was over looked.

Everyone was getting slips sent via email and printed out. Large check lists to make sure everything was being done properly. The estates were alive and bustling with people moving things around at a constant. He had figured by the time Sarah had met up with him he had known she was going to be questioning what was going on. He smirked at the thought. "All river shipments are to be redirected to the Dam." The man he was talking to was off in his own little world trying to lift a large crate onto a ship using a complex pulley system.

Dust walked over to the man taking the chain from his hand and hoisting the crates onto the ship with his one free arm. "I don't like repeating myself. Get in contact with all in coming shipments and redirect them to the Dam. I will arrange further directions from there." He smiled and let the chain go watching the crates drop onto the ship?s deck with a loud boom. The two crimson guards at his side kept looking about feeling like they could be doing something to help out. Dust feeling these tensions turned around and looked to the two men clad in red armor and smiled. "The two of you can take a break for the moment. Wait in my ship for the moment, relax and take it easy. I've got everything under control." He took out a single key with a luck charm of a light bulb and tossed it to one of the men. He spun around and walked off to the Barracks.

Sarah had only spent so many hours looking over her arms and fingers, legs and toes. She was still trying to figure out why they felt like they had shattered into dozens of pieces and suddenly mended. Her fingers did extensive checks over her own figure, trying to work out if anything was different, but she couldn't place it. She felt different, but as far as physically she couldn't find anything wrong with her. In fact she hadn't felt this strong and healthy in a long time. It was about eight when she had gotten ready to meet Dust.

Wearing something comfortable and relaxing, but still nice enough just in case he had plans for them this evening. Taking those steps towards the door of the manor and down the steps she turned to look at the two men following her. She noted their appearance and remembered that they were guards like the ones from the night before. Swallowing she turned to the two and waved her hands to them politely," No, no... It's alright. I'll be fine. Go about your duties please?" The two men nodded and she was left to take a long walk in peace. She wasn't sure if she felt comfortable with them following her.

It had been strange whenever she was riding in one of the cars taking her where ever she went. She tried her best to beat the driver to the door. Not that it wasn't wonderful, but she wasn't all that ready to let herself get carried away with the care the people of the Empire gave towards Dust, herself, and her family. She moved down familure paths and streets until the Dam came into view before her eyes. Sighing in delight. Her pace quickened a bit, moving about eagerly while she got closer and closer to her beloved Dust. Or at least waiting for Dust. Moving as quickly as she could she made it past check points and guards with ease.

All of them greeting her with a smile and devotion in protecting the cargo and people being transferred. Once she was at the head of the Dam and looking downwards over the rippling water coming from one side and cascading out of the other side. It was one of her favorite views. She gripped at the railing, taking a deep breath with delight dancing on her face. Her hair was down and fluttering freely to the breeze and mingling in the gathering mists around her. She couldn't wait to see Dust, she honestly never had a day where she didn't eagerly await the return of her beloved, or when she was in his arms again.

Dust looked around quickly and went through a mental check list of things he had to do. It seemed that everything at the estates was already down the elevator and onto the tram system. All that needed to be done now was the trams going on their way to the dam. Have everyone clear out and let the deconstruction begin. He watched as everyone cleared out from the estates onto flying crafts, trams, and boats. Only his crimson guard and the deconstruction team were left behind.

"Alright let?s blow this place sky high." He said with a smile. Men took the elevators down into the lower levels and began placing charges in strategic places in order to secure the path way to the void complex. Mean while on the surface, the deconstruction team released the arch-bots to take apart the buildings one piece at a time at an immense speed.

About 4 dozen of these bots took a building each to them and began taking out screws, nails, bolts out. Boards of wood, plates of metal, and slabs of concrete were taken from the buildings and placed onto a hovering tram cart. like a hurricane came through the place, there were no buildings left. And no mess to clean up. Only the sight of bots loading themselves onto the tram. The estates was a naked f pilat ece of ground with a few holes in the ground where stairs and elevator lifts were constructed into the ground.

Dust took one final look at the estates before pushing the red button. BOOM! The lower levels were demo'd up and exploded with fill-foam. A type of demolition tool that fills large enclosed spaced with foam that quickly fills every available space, hardens, and becomes a solid block that runs all the way through the underground network of tram tunnels, offices, and facility's. He smiled as debris scattered up from the holes like a raging volcano. He looked to the Estates now seeing that it was truly nothing but a vacant lot of emptiness. It was time to move to the mountains like he had promised the night before. He walked the length of the tram to the head of the cart and leaped to the ground where his own craft was parked.

Opening the door to see his two crimsons sitting down behaving themselves and awaiting orders, he could only smile to them - hop in - and strap himself into the cockpit as he flipped on the controls and ignited the engines into full throttle. Quickly finding him in Rhy'Din aerospace. The city looked nice to him from this height. But what was fun was to see the long chain of tram carts hovering behind the main engine tram through the sky. It looked like a Chinese dragon dancing among the skies. It looked like it was caring a lot of weight but was taking on some fast speeds. He knew it was going to get to the mountain and set up the new estates long before he would even arrive.

Watching the Long tram fly off into the massive heights of the mountain as Dust himself began to navigate his own craft towards the Dragon Head Dam which was very, very near. Seeing men direct him onto the landing pad with large glowing wands he just followed their directions and slowly sat it down. The crimson guards had expected Dust to have taken a fast and reckless flight seeing how they knew him only by reputation. Dust cooled the engines - unstrapped himself - and leaped from the cockpit.

Looking around for Sarah, feeling she was near. He could feel the slight relaxing breeze caused from the currents of the water in the dam. The mist from the water lifted into the air and lightly spring led his face. He couldn't help but stick his tongue out, the water was cold and refreshing. Kid at heart.. with the mind of a genius mad man.. and the body of a machine... that was Dust.

Dust had given her the option of meeting her here or at the Estates, she figured that a place like this would have been a wonderful idea. It was truth be told, she had never been here with him. So she had to take up this opportunity. Watching the few evening birds swoop down to the water below and snatch up fish within their taloned grip. She could see the shimmer of the silver scales disappear as the birds lifted their legs up closer to their breasts.

Seeing such a sight, and to be able to enjoy it full heartedly. Sucking in a deep breath of the water spritzing up in her face she snickered with delight. It wasn't one that was maddening or strange, but one of excitement to be out at this time of night. Her eyes danced over the lights of the city slowly coming to life. Reds, greens, yellows, whites, and other various rainbow like colors dazzled below the dam and miles away. She looked down at the watch on her wrist, wriggling her fingers against the railing.

She gasped and turned back around to face the Estates. Her honey orbs taking in the sight before her. As she Estates lifted upwards she gawked in amazement on how efficient Dust and the crews moving the Estates were. It wasn't hard to find out that Dust had plans to move the Estates, after all he was the love of her life. She woke up next to him each morning, fell asleep next to him each night. She was as much a part of his life as the Empire was, at least she had hoped that's how it was between them at this point. She knew he would answer her questions. All of them and many of them would revolve around what happened last night.

Even now her mind was racing as the Estates began their journey further back and towards the mountains. She giggled at the glory of those ships and then turned her eyes to the crews still remaining behind. Brows perked and she moved to the opposite edge, wondering what was about to happen. As the void complex erupted through the lower half of were the Estates she yelped out. Not expecting that there would be a display on this magnitude. Her jaw dropped and she gaped as fire surged and wrapped like the very water falling behind her. Birds burst from their nests in high screeches behind her. Startled with the blast as the shock wave rumored throughout the earth and against the Dam. Still it remained strong.

She had no idea the detail that was being placed into this move, the reasoning behind what had just happened. All she knew is that to see it from this view point was amazing. Still she gawked even as Dust grew closer to her. Leaning over the edge as the Estate's previous home was left behind. It was amazing to see just how much space such a big world could take. Knowing they had only taken up a fraction of land within the Empire's possession. She closed her eyes, drawing in a deep breath. The cool mist tickled at the skin covering her face and shoulders as she leaned over the rails a touch. Kicking out one leg while she gazed down at the bits of fire left to renew the earth they scorched.

The sounds of birds died out, but they were still there. Settled back within their nests and protecting their young. She paid them no mind however, her eyes began to dance over the surrounding area in search for Dust. She knew he would be there soon, her gut told her that. That new core within her chest pulsed, showing its anticipation, her anticipation. Her figure had turned about and leaned against the railing keeping her from falling over the edge and into the billowing water. Again her brows lifted as she saw a figure coming closer. Knowing who it was instantly. She surged forwards, trying to meet him half way. A bright smile on her lips," Nice show Dust Belarus! Not as good as the fireworks though!"

He smiled at her remarks and opened his arms to her. There was a lot going on around them and there was so much more in and around this some 4,000 square miles of mountain that would come something short of a culture shock to Sarah. He knew it was more than she would be used to seeing how she hadn't known yet. Ash had died, and with him the core worlds of the Empire.

He had already known that the Nano Empire have already rushed to those core worlds to kill off what was left and take what wasn't already taken. He had known there was only 5 planets left that had the empires name stamped on it. He knew those five were safe for now; Corium, the planet covered by one massive mega-city all of which was owned by the Belarus Family. Corbinus, the planet exploited with economic power, the empire bank in a sense - owned by the second house of the empire, the Corbin Family. Munnitaah, planet of military power, owned and operated by the third house family of the empire, The Redstar Family. The other two planets of safety were Mahikanah which was a long and loyal governmental friend of the empires families. And of course Rhy'Din, Where the Belarus Corp. base of operations stand now. Those 5 planets was all that was left of the empire now.

Dust knew it and didn't know exactly how to break the news to Sarah. But he had to. He kept a bright smile on his face and looked to the women he loved. "Do you like it here?"

The delight on Sarah's face was more than enough to show she had ached to see him all day. As she rushed into his arms she brought her face to nuzzle at his chest. Arms would swoop around his neck and hug him close to her. A giggle coming from her lips and a kiss coming against his chin. When she saw that bright smile on his face she was sent into curiosity mode. It was amazing how one facial feature could bring up her wonder and child like eagerness to learn. She bit her lip and thought of how she would word each question coming through her mind.

Trying to make understanding on all of the thoughts scrambling her focus. For a while she just looked to him as he thought over the status of the Empire and the status of the remaining planets. When he spoke and looked to her she let her eyes lock with his copper ones. How could she not like it where she was? She was happiest in his arms, in his world, and a part of the empire. Smiling softly and bringing up one of her hands to cup at his cheek lovingly.

She bit her lip and brushed some of his silver strands from his face," Why wouldn't I like it here Dust? Here is where I belong, by your side... always." She smiled again and pressed a tender kiss to his cheek. Adding to her bit of words with a happy sigh and a murmur," Is there something I missed as of late? Has something happened?" There was so much she didn't know, but good or bad she wanted to know. How else could she support the one she loved?

"When a Imperial Core dies. The universe follows. At least the universe that Imperial Core has built. Ash built this Empire. There are only small hand full of worlds that Ash hadn't build with his own two hands and those are the only ones still intact." He hadn't known any other way to put it other than that. He looked to her and gave her a kiss. "Every planet he created, the beings, everything and everyone, fell to their knees as corpses or in ruin." He took a deep breath and looked to her," When a Imperial Core dies. The universe follows. At least the universe that Imperial Core has built. Ash built this Empire. There is only small hand full of worlds that Ash hadn't build with his own two hands and those are the only ones still intact." He hadn't known any other way to put it other than that. He looked to her and gave her a kiss. "Every planet he created, the beings, everything and everyone, fell to their knees as corpses or in ruin." He took a deep breath and looked to her," There only a hand full of planets left out there in space that are apart of the Empire. Ours is one of them."

Sarah gazed to him when she listened to his words. Feeling his lips come to hers she sighed and returned it lovingly. His words took a few moments to process, but as she brought down her head and nodded it against his shoulder it showed she understood. Biting her lip she turned back up to look to him," How many planets are left? How many didn't die with Ash?" Her voice broke slightly as she thought of all the people in those worlds, wondering out of how many that had come to Rhy'Din to celebrate those few months ago were now gone. Her eyes lowered and she whispered," What is to be come of the ones that are left?"

Trillions of star systems had collapsed and become nothing but dead planets of clusters of junk with space corpse floating about. Even more numbers could be counted on how many lives had expired. Instead of telling her how many they've lost... he simply told her "Five planets are left.. including this one. We don't know where our military, economic, and political powers lie as of right now. But no worries. I've already sent out teams to each of those planets to assess the situation and see where we stand as an empire. We will not fall. We will stand and march forward." He gave her a comforting and reassuring smile that struck out like that of a leader. "All we can do right now is wait it out and continue our day to day operations here. Besides, I have my team of experts working with me on something big. It'll be sort of a surprise to you and everyone, but no worries. It's nothing too dangerous and I know it will be a success." He smiled to her assuring himself he wouldn't spoil the suprise he had in store for everyone of the empire.

Sarah frowned when she told how many of the Empire's planets remained. She remembered hearing stories from Syn and Ash about how vast the Empire had been. Resting her chin on his shoulder and looking to him, she listened to his words on their status. Taking every single word in while she watched his expressions. That comforting and reassuring smile was returned with her own. The words of surprise made her brow arch, even more curiosity sparkling in her eyes. She shifted about to face him her arm lifting against his chest. She sighed and nodded," Just as long as the Empire is strong will the Empire be happy. I haven't given up faith that the Empire will remain standing." Giving him a calming smile and then whispering," Are you going to tell me what happened last night? I remember walking to meet you and having a migraine, but then... the pain..." Now she was chewing on her lip, worried about the answer he would give her. Her eyes showed worry and she spoke again," What happened to me Dust? Is it something I should be worried about?"

"Nothing to worry about darling. But it is something you need to be aware of." He smiled to her a moment, giving her a kiss on her forehead and then looking into those golden hues of hers.. "I love you hun, you know that right. And no matter what happens I'll always love you and we'll always be together for the rest of time.......and then some." He chuckled a bit after that last comment about living together longer than time itself.. "....I'm never good at these sorts of things so enough with the bullshit and straight to the point." He placed a hand on either side of her shoulder and looked to her with a grin. "Your becoming one of us hunn. Your.. becoming an Imperial Core." He raised a brow and released a sigh of relief as he finally came out with it. "You just went thought the first stage of your transformation. There are still two more. But no worries, there's no reason to become alarmed, they go by quick and are nearly painless." He tried to display a reassuring smile but instead took out a cigarette from his pocket and inhaled on it without lighting it up. Then it sparked to life with an amber living at the end of his tobacco habits.

She nodded in agreement, highly aware that she needed to be aware of it. Sarah was glad that Dust knew what was happening with her, even more so when he spoke of it in terms she could understand. She smiled and returned a loving smile when he spoke of his love for her, but that smile had started to dwindle as he spoke of becoming one of them, becoming like Dust. Her fingers moved to fidget with her pockets and pulling out the cigarettes of her own. Raising one to her lips her fingers shook and with a flick of light, the end was lit. Once he was done she smiled to him, soft and lovingly," Being one of you means that it's a guarantee that I'll be with you beyond the future and then some. Being one of you gives me the chance to be that much more closer to you. I don't care how painful it is... As long as it is something that you understand I want. I want anything I can to be close to you Dust. Please remember that." Standing on her tip toes she kissed his lips," I love you, I love you so much that I'm lost without you."

There time together would pass for a while until the night had come full flow around them. She was by his side and they were walking along the dam slowly. She was sure the new details of the Estates were already being finished and he was more than aware that they had been finished. Dust knew that the people he trusted with the Estates would work hard and fast to get their duties done. So for now he would enjoy the time he had with Sarah.

Mist lightly sprayed up into the air and over his head. He was on the walkway that stretched across the lip of the dam, his elbows resting on the railing as he looked off into the distance of the night. The lights of the city sparkled and looked as if he could reach out and brush his fingertips across the building of Rhy'Din, but the fact was it was really a few dozen km's away. His suit coat flapped in the wind at such high altitude and the smoke from his cigar swept away quickly.

The moon light was also bathing through her skin. She was breathing lightly as she looked over the glittering lights of the city. Each one showing their own different shade. Sarah felt the wind dancing in her strands, felt the cool of the coming winter already approaching as she stayed by her beloved's side. She watched him for a moment before she paused to look over the foam of the water that danced about and fell to the area below. Stars glittering above them and the city's stars glittering below them. It was heavenly almost. As if she was walking on clouds.

"How are you feeling tonight?" He asked, wondering what was on her mind at that moment. His eyes looking down over the railing, unable to see the bottom of the dam because of the mist and fog that gathered at it's base. Still he had known that they were nearly two and a half km's from the ground. The dam was the biggest of this world, one of Ash's designs to be exact. He looked back over to her wondering about a few things and then turned around, leaning his back against the railing as he looked up at the monster of a mountain that they now lived on. A grin shown through his hardened exterior to reveal he was always thinking about bigger and better things.

Sarah paused for a moment in her own curiosities when she heard his voice. Her head turned to look at him, always a loving smile on her face. When he moved to lean against the railing she looped one arm with is. Her eyes trailing over the area around her. A honey like voice spurred from her lips softly," I'm quite alright dear... Just curious as usual about my surroundings." Again she looked at him. Smiling as she leaned into his warmth. Her head nuzzled his arm for a moment and she spoke again," It's always amazing what things you show me. Again I'm lost with such a beautiful sight."

"Well, if you have any questions let me know, alrighty?" he commented. He knew this mountain inside and out, After all he was the one who designed the layout of the empires occupancy of these mountain ranges. Here they were safe and it was here the empire would flourish. He had a little sparkle in his eyes as he had thought these things. He had many plans that he had yet to execute and get under way. But for now his energy and focus was on getting his personnel and operatives back into the mountain so when he finally made changes, everyone would know and not be left out of the loop. One other thing had concerned him though.. Where was James, he hadn't seen him in some time. He hoped he was alright and doing well.

She nodded to his words and turned to face him. Her arms folding around his chest as she spoke lightly," When do you think the next bit of changes will take place in me love?" She was nervous to say the least. Sarah was afraid of him not being there, but she knew he'd come like he did before. She looked at a stray string on his uniform and plucked it away. Watching as it danced and fell through the wind to fall to the water below. Sucking in a deep breath she looked back up to him, her need to know what was going on around her growing stronger by the moment. She was lightly clinging to him, knowing he would answer and calm all her worries like he always did.

He looked into her eyes with out any really concern and smiled. His arms came up around her and held her close. "Within the week darling. You have time to relax for now." He looked down to her and gave her a kiss to the forehead,? You haven't any need to worry, I'll always be here to help you through everything." He looked to her with a smile of comfort.

She nodded and rested her head on his shoulder. Once more taking in the view around them with a sigh," Dust... Tell me more about what's going on. Please?" Sarah could feel her concern for Dust growing. She didn't want him to carry a burden by himself, she didn't want him to have to be alone. In her heart she knew that he would always be able to count on her and she knew as long as she was by his side she'd want to know what she could in order to be the best support for him she could be.

"For now I'm content with being here in the mountain. Operations are running smoothly enough now for us all to get back into business. I'm trying to arrange a Redstar and a Corbin to live amoung us to help us out wit training our military installation and help with our financing. Since the Empirial core planets have fallen our economy has been in disarray and it's been hard to figure out how much exactly we have in our treasury. As for our political standings, they seem to be nonexistent now. Looks like we have to build from the ground up once more." He looked to her for a moment seeing her potential and how much she could help him out. He hadn't planned on going off to war anytime soon.

So far the Nano Empire has no idea where the Core empire is hiding now. But Dust has never been one for running and hiding. Sooner or later he'll have to deal with the rising threat. "I'll be restructuring just about everything. Including the way our soldiers fight. Right now it's too sloppy and the fatality's are too high. If there's one thing you could learn from me Sarah, its that nothing is impossible and there is always a better way." He smiled for a moment, "I learned that from Ash." He looked to her once more wondering if there was anything else she needed to know. He had realized he was sort of sketchy on the details but he knew that everything would be done and complete within the month to come.

His words would be absorbed like a sponge as always when it came to Sarah. She nodded to his words and looked up into his eyes. Those eyes of copper always entranced her. She bit her lip as she heard the words of Ash and suddenly stepped back. Her hand took his and she drew him along," I have something I want to show you." She paused in her words for a moment to look back to him a proud smile on her face. She had been busy while he was working on the empire's new location, making her own little addition in giving the empire strength," I want to be helpful Dust. I want to be able to help you as much as I can Dust. Please remember that. Remember that even in the darkest moments, you'll never be alone." Her pace was as steady as could be. She was excited, she was extremely excited. Sarah hadn't shown him this yet and she hoped that he'd like it.

He followed her closely, a smile coming across his face as he took another puff from his cigar. Wondering what exactly she was going to show him.. he could make planets and watch civilizations rise and fall but he couldn't mind read.. something only ash was able to master for some odd reason. He was still going through his changes as well, changing into the Imperial Core Elite.. he couldn't remember for some reason if he had told Sarah or not.

Either way it was going to happen. He looked to her proud smile, she was always proud and seemed happy when she thought she was doing something for the family and the empire. It made him happy to see she was in high spirits and always so willing to dedicate herself to the family, the empire, the cause,? So what exactly have you cooked up this time?" He asked with a raised brow. Taking another small puff of his cigar before speaking once more. "I love it when you surprise me."

Sarah took him down a path that she had found on her many days without Dust. When he was at war she was exploring the area around the Dam, around the estates trying to learn more, to gain more. She squeezed his hands and laughed to his question. Her eyes danced over the surroundings, several glittering stones glowed along their path as it weaved and turned slowly. She looked over the somber scene of the path, the owls hooting, the stars glittering, and the sound of the Dam rumbling behind them.

Her eagerness brought her pace up a notch. She was growing in excitement. Bouncing on her feet she smiled as the sound of falling water came up before them. Suddenly she halted in her steps and turned to him. Holding up her hands to make him stop in his steps. She was glowing with pride at this point, rocking on the balls of her feet as she spoke," Cover your eyes or close them Love, it's a big surprise and I'm glad I finally finished it."

He grinned as he closed shut his eyes and felt his hand toward her, grabbing hold of her hand then knowing exactly where he face was, giving her a kiss then doing nothing but letting her lead the way. "A surprise huh? Sounds like fun, I can't wait to see what you hae in store for me." That smile still ever so apparent as he took another puff of that now dying cigar then waiting for her to lead on. "So any hints or are going to leave me guessing?"

She kissed him back tenderly. Happily pulling him along. She bit her lip as she looked to watch the steps in which she was taking. Soon a soft pool with a water fall was coming into view. Inside were koi swimming about in soft spirals and glowing like the stars. Her smile growing as next came into view and Obsidian figure, about the height of a two story building. There was something pink in its hands soon came into view as well. She paused to look over the obvious statue of Ash and the Aya flower he was holding.

Sucking in a deep breath she took in how the figure seemed to be waiting for a place, how it was an odd thing in this pristine location. There was a obsidian like sheet resting next to it, blank and ready for anything to be placed upon it. In the distance was an opening to the city, it's glowing lights coming into the area at a large distance. She nodded and looked back to Dust, smiling lightly," Open your eyes Love."

He could hear the trickling of water and the slow rippling sounds of fish fins skimming th surface. He could smell the waters fresh scent and it only made him smile even more. He heard her voice come to his ears over the sound of water in motion. He peeked one eyes open and then the other, his smile turned into a grin as he felt the urge to fight the smile but he just couldn't help it. He was overwhelmed with joy to see his brother in the form of a statue, holding that flower that in so many ways resembled the empire and the closely bonded family. Like the pages of a book, each one was different but as a whole they made one story that never ended, that is what he thought of his family now.

In his mind Ash never left entirely, now he seemed more god like than when he was living. He was an idle that people could look up to and seek guidance. He was a marvel and this peaceful place with the water, the fish, the flower, and the statue only made him bring a single tear from his eye; a tear of joy. "Thank you Sarah. You?re so wonderful in so many ways that I can't form my feelings for you into words. I just love you so much. Thank you." He reached over to her and pulled her body close to her own, giving her soft intimate kisses on her lips as he felt overjoyed with what she had done here. he began to think that perhaps when he was knighted and given the thrown that perhaps he could have their wedding here as well.. but those plans were a bit down the road for now. "I love you, Sarah."

She wrapped her arms around his neck as he held her close. Hearing his words, his joy, and seeing that tear on his face. A soft blush was on her cheeks, but her hand lifted in a tender motion to wipe away that tear slowly, lovingly. Sarah glowed with delight at his happiness, glad to see that he liked it. Her lips grazed over his and she kissed him tenderly. A soft whisper coming to him," I love you so much Dust." She wanted to show him how much that love he had for her meant to her. She looked over to the statue of Dust's brother, even admiring how well it had been put together for having only met Ash maybe once or twice.

She bit her lip and swallowed, again whispering," It's moveable when ever you want to move it... it becomes a fountain, the water pours from the Aya like life." She motioned to the waiting plaque and sighed," I didn't know what words to put on it. I wanted them to be perfect, but I also wanted something that perhaps you wanted." She looked to his face, taking in the finer details of his joy in that lighting. He was so handsome at every moment, yet in this light and with his joy, he seemed even more breath taking," I want it to be perfect."

"I'm not sure what I would want on it. Maybe words aren't needed." He thought for a moment as he starred off at the statue, amazed at how detailed it was. The fact it was moveable and was a fountain had astounded him. But it seemed perfectly fine where it was for the moment. He knew an Imperial Cult was on the rise and was waiting for Dust's approval to become official but he was iffy about having an Imperial Cult within the area and having to build a temple of prayer with Ash as its central focus. Perhaps it wasn't all that bad, maybe it would do good to have a temple set up in Ash's honor for the men and women of this planet to go to and pray and be blessed. He was thinking of the benefits and the effects it would have on morale, but also the downers of having an Imperial Cult of worship and prayer.

Many cultures in time have sought out the Imperial Cores for help and blessings seeing them as gods or angelic creatures. But they were nothing like that. Perhaps Superior but still killable. He didn't want to be idolized like that and what would it end up like years down the road. Could future Imperial Cores become corrupt with power because future generations of Imperial Cultist see them as gods? It was a heavy choice weighing down on his mind in the recent weeks that have gone by. "Sarah, what would you think about the idea of an Imperial Cult here?" He wanted to know what she thought about it.

Sarah was taken aback by his question. Her brows knitted together as she thought of the extremities of Cults in her home world. Some were good, and many were bad. It worried her to think of a cult in the empire, but then again people would believe what they wanted to believe. A idle hand moment past as she thought. Her eyes taking in the statue and then the somber surroundings as the night moved on around them. Animals in the distance were stirring. Owls were singing to the night, some coyotes we yipping here and there, but as she considered what he was saying she couldn't forget the way the crickets chirped peacefully and the koi swam in balance with the ripples of the waterfall filling the pool before them.

Her lips parted and her eyes turned to look into his," I think either way you look at the thought of a Imperial Cult here... It seems rather unavoidable. People will do what they please in many instances. They will believe what they want and do what they want when they do believe... If it's in the majority of the population, and many people are calling for it. It would be better to welcome it, but to remind it of the boundaries. Safety of the people is important Dust, but so is the happiness of the people. Isn't it? If many want to form an Imperial Cult, if that's what will make them happy.... I suppose it would be what would be best, but as long as they know there are differences between what is right and wrong in their actions..."

He agreed with her, and acknowledged this with a simple smile. "Then it is settles. They'll have their cult. It will also give me time out of my day to visit the temple for a blessing and to speak out to my brother. It's the least I could do for him, in his name and honor. Besides, I would hate to see the people begin to question me if I didn't partake in it." He smiled and then looked back to the statue.

Chapter II: Part Two || The Dreams to Come

He took her hand and looked up to the figure of Ash. Smiled and felt peace within himself. "We better get back before everyone begins to wonder where we ran off to." He had known that there were security systems in the areas around the mountain range to keep observation and security. He also had known that this place where they were had none. He knew certain members of the security task force had already noticed that they were missing without letting anyone know. He smirked at the thought, was he the ruler or the prisoner? He laughed then looked back to Sarah and motioned to her. "Let's get going." He looked back to the statue and nod to it, "Good bye Ash."

Sarah looked to his hand and sucked in a breath. As he said farewell she bowed her head and smiled lightly. Her figure turned to his and she wrapped her arms around his waist. For a moment she was lost in his eyes again, but then she would let him lead the way. Her mind was racing again with all the questions that were buzzing through it. Her head turned to look up at him, one question weighing on her," Dust? With Ash gone... And everything... What does that make you to the empire?" She was starting to wonder on plenty of things. Granted the increase of guard around her had always made her curious, but she was able to easily let them know she'd rather be alone, but how long would that last?

He stopped and paused for a long moment before answering her, ".....Emperor" His face held a serious expression to it, something he put on like the many masks he collected through out the years, this mask was true and honest, it was one he carried into battle and into the Senate when ever he visited. He was beginning to act a bit more mature and serious around her now days. His mind always thinking like a clock, he cogs and gears never stopped turning. Before anyone could realize what had happened many changes would take place.

Would they be good or bad, Justified or evil. No one knew what was going on in his head and while many supported dust as the new ruler of the empire, an equal amount disagreed - seeing and knowing what evil he had been since his birth. Would he change into the kind heart king that Ash was and plan things out enabling peace and order throughout the universe, or would he use his power to cast a blackening shadow and set the universe back into chaos? He had enjoyed his serious nature but knew that there was some light in him that wanted to come out and shine.

Dust looked to Sarah with a smile and then looked to the winding path before them then stopped in his tracks, grabbing her hands and pulling them around him to the front of his torso, making the front of her body press against his back. "Hang on"

She didn't know what to think of his serious face. Swallowing she tried to figure out if it was a troubled look of his or if it was something else. For a while she had thought of their time before all this had happened. Dust and Sarah hadn't really spent this much time together in a while, it was something new to her. She had always expected him to move off and be gone for a few weeks, but him being home like this made her wonder if he was happy for the chance to finally be at peace. Her arms moved around his torso as he pulled him close.

Hearing his suggestion she nodded. Her chin resting against his chest as curiosity got the better of him," Are you sure you're going to be okay with being Emperor?" She lifted a brow and leaned her head to the side in a tilt. Lost in her own questions before moving to gripping him tightly. Holding onto him and murmuring," Ready."

"I'll be perfectly fine." With that said he took a step forward with her pressed to his back and pushed off from the ground. He glided away from the earth and into the tree tops somewhere between turtle and rabbit speeds. His and her bodies were like shadows on the cliff side as they lifted higher and higher into the air, no trees. hills, or mountainside was in the way now, all that could be seen was the city scape and the oceans horizon beyond that. The moon was proudly out that night and could be seen making a clever white line reflection across the water and into the city. He smiled to her as they continued to glide upward adjacent to the Cliffside. "Beautiful isn't it?"

Sarah's eyes went wide as she took in the scene. Biting her lip she swallowed. Looking over his shoulder at the glittering city lights. Smiling and hugging him tightly she took in the scene below. Her jaw dropping and a bright smile forming on her lips. She giggled and nuzzled his shoulder for a moment. Her hair was still ruffling and dancing through the air while they moved about. Her eyes turned back to him, the moon reflecting in her eyes.

The honey and silver glow mixed as she nodded. Taking him in as well as the view," It's gorgeous." He always knew what to do, what to show her. She was so glad that he always too the chance to show her things when he could. Once more she nuzzled his shoulder and murmured," I'm glad you're home."

He looked back to her as they neared the top of the cliff. Light could be seen shining over the cliff side, already knowing there were facility's up ahead. He looked back to her and smiled, "I'm glad to be home with you too." His words were full of truth and he dearly loved to be with her at all times. His new role in the empire would allow him to be close to her more and more often. He had asked himself if he should induct her to be on his personal staff just so he could see her face and hear her words when ever he wanted.

They edged the cliff and came over top silently, his boots thudding on the cement as he landed and soon, hers as well. A guard that was patrolling this area was quickly startled and jumped around with one hand on the handle of his sword in its sheath while the other aimed a guardsmen rifle. 'Heh! Dust you startled me.' Dust looked to the man and smiled, "and if it was an intruder and and real threat? Would you have pulled the trigger?" The guard seemed speechless and hadn't expected the question. "Well?" Asked Dust.

The guard snapped to attention and responded, 'Sir, Yes, Sir!'

Dust smiled and motioned to the man, "Good, next time shoot. Now, carry on with your patrol." He looked to Sarah and snickered. "We're 6 km's up and the view is great. This is one of the large balcony's of the void Complex. This entrance would lead us to the diplomatic chambers of our beloved statesmen and women."

Sarah smiled to his words. Her eyes locking with his for a moment before she felt her feet brush over the ground below. Swallowing lightly she turned to look towards the guard from over Dust's shoulder. Brows lifting up she leaned her head to the side, observing what was going on around them. When he questioned the guard she waited, knowing all to well the answer she would shout out. She thought it a bit strange that Dust had to repeat himself, but when the answer was given she nodded. Her head turned to look back over the view for a moment. Her eyes locking on the city and the bustle of lights below them.

Swallowing she nodded as she listened to him. Squeezing his hand and then turning to look at the balcony, looking over it slowly. Her eyes turned to one of guards and nodded to him for a moment. Wondering just at that moment why he said 'our'. She turned to look to him, once more curiosity written all over her face. Swallowing nervously before she managed to stammer," O- Our?" She still seemed to be grasping things. At this point she wasn't sure she had concluded to the right thing or not. Again her head tilted and she sucked in a deep breath. It was possibly the third time she'd have to ask this, not sure why she had to," Dust... What else is it that I'm missing?"

He couldn't help but chuckle in a playful way at her initial question and then glanced to her then the entrance of the Hall of Diplomats. He knew what laid beyond was a long stretch of corridor from the balcony. Red carpet, red oak walls with pictures on them and statues of armor on either side of the hall. Double doors lining up and down the hallway with meeting rooms, news conference halls, Guest rooms that had VIP written all over the interior decorations. These halls is where all the choices and diplomatic plans were sketched up and dealt with for the Empire.

"Yes, these are the chambers of where some of the most powerful and intellectual men and women of the senate stay, they spell out their lives in there and help make the choices that make sure the people of the empire are safe and protected with civil rights, amendments, and the very laws that make us one of the most powerful governments in the known universe." His voice was calm and smooth, relaxing enough to ease a crying baby. He held her close and gave her a his to the forehead, "There is much that I need to teach you and allow you to discover. This universe of ours is large, vast, and sometimes and be overwhelming and intimidating. But have no worries my love, I will be by your side every step of the way. Remember we have a military force of the likes no one has ever comprehended, An economic power that will erase confusion of currency and turn those who are poor and homeless into upstanding citizens with a good job and enough money in their pockets to feed their young. Our political upbringing will form a new galactic Senate that will bring all worlds under one roof.. our roof. We will be the ones that will pave the way to a bright and glorious future where peace and order will flourish like the Aya flower itself."

He looked into her beautiful eyes and smiled.. "Soon enough my love, you will know what I know... We will be wed, and I will be Emperor, and I will fulfill the dreams that Ash could never grasp. The future holds a place for all of us." He noticed that he was talking a bit too much and probably should have cut it off there. He didn't want to seem like he was steering the empire down the wrong path. Because he wasn't, most would have called him out right there on the spot as a Nano Imperialist.. but his intentions and methods had followed the same path as Ash's. He wanted this Empire to be the people's. He wanted them all to be safe and held warmly in the blankets of peace.

She took in his words. All the hopes he had, all the dreams he had. She was glad that he still remembered the fact that they would be Wed. Smiling at the thought of her life now, her future with Dust. It all seemed like a dream she was now seeing come true. As she stood there besides him, the guards going about their duties behind him. Sarah was beginning to feel eager... Honored at the fact that she was being shared all of this information. AS she considered what path to take next she thought back on the many moments in which they would have been horrifying to her. Yet, now... all of these things, all of these possibilities, all of them made her proud of Dust. He had hopes, dreams, and somewhere in all of that he hadn't forgotten her.

She turned her head up to look to him. Her eyes dancing at the prospect she had just been given. He wanted to tell her everything and she knew now more than ever that with him by her side she would be safe, strong, and just quite alright. She gave him a bright smile and nodded," Teach me. Teach me all you want Dust. I'm willing to learn it all." She wanted him to be able to count on her. Even as she stood there, she knew that he would need her greatly, and even if he didn't, he'd always know she was there for him.

He nodded to her and smiled. Taking her hand in his he walked over past the entrance leading into the chambers of the dozens upon dozens of Diplomats and instead walked up white marble stairs that climbed the side of the cliff, the railing was engraved with leaf like designs filled in with silver. there was much to these mountains no one out side knew of. From Rhy?Din city people could stare blankly at the mountain ranges and see nothing but the dragon Head dam and a whole lot of damn mountains.

He lead her up the wide set of stairs at least 40 steps upwards. It slightly curved to the right as they reached an even higher altitude, they were now standing on a very large platue filled with tables and chairs all painted white with white umbrellas for every table. The floor was all marble with designs nicley placed into it, not holding any real meaning to the untrained eye. But to those who built this place and held higher ranks within the empire or even the secret society that Dust belonged to.. these designs held secrets. He looked to them and then to Sarah, "Come here you," he said in a teasing sort of tone, "give me some sugar." He gave her a smile and then held her hand, pulling her towards him into his chest.

She took the time she needed to look over the railing, the steps, everything she could in order to know more. Every detail was something she admired to the fullest. She had hardly a chance like this to see something new, well... if you consider how much she had grown accustom to the Empire's details and tech. Seeing things like this always made her smile. It was like putting in old with the new. Old details mixed with various elements always refreshed her look on the Empire. It always seemed she could take something and admire it more so with each passing moment. Her fingers would drag across the railing while her eyes scanned the marble, those designs forming even more curiosity then before. She was always finding new things to ask questions about.

She was sure that's what Dust enjoyed most, she was his way to talk about the world he loved so much. Teaching her as much as he knew from day to day was like being able to share a well forgotten secret to all but it's keeper. The chance to tell it always exciting, even after the meaning behind the secret had been lost. However the Empire was becoming a secret that had gained new meaning. Dust had made sure of that, even put a powerful feel into the meaning. Yet this time the secret keeper was going to tell all and it wouldn't fall on deaf ears. No this time it was going to come over someone who would eagerly take in the secret as if she was a sponge thirsty for any bit of knowledge.

As he drew her inwards she giggled. Her eyes instantly falling to him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and waggled her brows," Mmm sugar hmm?" She grinned, it was a new grin, one she had gained in her time with him," As you wish love." Her lips moving up she pressed a kiss to his own. Eager to see that smile on his face that she knew somehow could come sooner or later.

He felt the softness of her lips like a puzzle peace he longed for fit perfectly into his, enjoying this moment he closed his eyes and felt the emotions drip over him like a warm spring shower. "I love you." He gave into that very smile, like a little school boy getting his first little crush, only his didn't blush and trip over his own shoe lace, instead he just pulled her close into a hug and then looked to the many tables and chairs. Beyond them and built into the side of the mountain where a dozen white double French doors. Above the doors and lining the exterior were white Christmas lights. Sparkling and swaying slightly in the mountain breeze. Beyond the clear glass squares of the doors could be seen a large cafe and small deli area. Ideal for such a place, giving off a sort of old world French atmosphere.

It sort of made him smile at its delight. But it was close a at the moment so the cleaning crew could sweep through this area and make it all nice for the next day. Needless to say, there were other small areas like this that gave off that sort of outside cafe life style. He was beginning to think if Sarah was wondering how high this place would take them. He smiled at the thought and looked up to see the mountain extend past the clouds. There was really no telling how high from this vantage point. The sky really was the limit in this case.

Sarah was feeling her heart pulse and beat in reaction to his joy. Her own bliss taking her over in every small way. She looked at that smile. Her own glowing to his words. As she held him tightly she began to wonder on what kind of plans he would have for them in the future, once her changes were done, once he was Emperor. She could see him needing a vacation soon, that was for sure. She cooed happily and brought her head to rest on his chest right below his chin," And I love you Dust Belarus."

She was lost in her own happiness. Her mind racing on the possibilities even as he took in their surroundings. The sounds of cleaning, nature, and solitude all put her at ease, but it was nothing like hearing his core beat in his chest. She knew now that it wasn't real flesh, real muscle. No, it was bio alloy, but it was just one more piece of him that was also now a piece of her. She had her own core and each time she was with him it seemed to beat out for him.

Always coming to be calm around him. Sighing happily she closed her eyes. Just taking in his warmth and scent while she could. She was safe in his arms, warm in them, even felt like the world had slowed down when she was in them. He had always protected her and put everything at risk, and even now she wasn't sure if she'd ever get the chance to do the same, but she would do anything. She'd search high and low for him if he ever disappeared, stay by his side if he was ever injured or ill, and even stay by his side when he was at his best, at his happiest.

"Come on, Love." He put an arm around her waist as he walked around the chairs and tables to another set of steps going in the same direction. These ones were only about 15 or 18 steps in total. Again they were wide set steps made of white with white and silver railings that had clever engravings that stood out among the other decorations of this magical place.

Once he had reached the top with her there was a long stretch of walkway that was also build into the side of the mountain with large chunks of the mountain sticking out over top of them, the stone was shaved down and smoothed out with engravings there as well. almost etching out a story or time line that would tell those who spent the time to study them, the story of a single man who was made of tin, a tin man so to speak, a man who walked across a lifeless planet and found no one, he was alone, but he had the strength to move mountain and raise seas. He had the knowledge of hunting, farming, and fishing.

One day he met a monster that was black as the night sky. They fought for many, many moons and suns until one fell to their knees. It was the monster. The tin man took mercy into his heart and did not strike the monster down, he was alone and wanted a friend. But as soon as the tin man turned his back on the black monster it fled off into the night, leaving the tin man behind and alone. So the tin man thought if the monster could leave then he could leave too.

So the tin man set off to build a machine to leave that world behind. But there were no precious metals besides him. So instead he made himself into a machine, a machine that gave life. Therefore, live began to sprawl across the planet and started to evolve into machines. Eating up the planets resources to keep living. Until nothing was left but the machine that gave life. They ate that too. One day the black monster came back to the planet with his friends to introduce them to the tin man that spared its life. All they found was rusted parts of the life that once was. So the black monster set off once again into the darkness of space to find a way to bring back the tin man to life. Till he could search no more.

All of the black monsters came back to this "one" planet in the universe and consumed it, sacrificing their lives to bring back the tin man. Instead there was nothing but darkness itself with a small light at its center... the tin man was alive but was so packed full with life and power that he exploded into an infinite amount of tiny little sparkles we know today as the universe. So in the end the Tin man was brought back through friendship but exploded to give life once more. The end. Dust looked from the ceiling to the stretch of walkway still ahead of them; he could remember that story being told to him when he was knee high. He smiled as he looked over to Sarah. Feeling a bit like a kid again, he gave her a quick peck on the cheek and walked onwards.

Sarah looked over the path they were walking. Her eyes soon would come to rest on that story. She took in each word the best she could, trying to hold him close in the process. This place was wonderful, she noted it among her favorites that Dust had showed her. Not only was it the story that was held here, but the meaning to Dust that made it wonderful. Smiling she rested her head against his chest and hugged him tightly. Pausing for a few moments just to stand there and take in the story before her.

Once the story was finished she smiled to Dust and blushed to the peck on the cheek. She loved to see the glow of joy on his face. She was glad that he was happy even now. As he moved on she kept close to him. Eagerly following him where ever he'd go. She'd always follow him. Smiling once more she murmured to him," What do you think will happen first Dust? For me and you? Once my changes are over?" Her head lifted to look to those copper shades she enjoyed to get lost in. Once more she lifted her head to look at the paintings that read like a story. Smiling and sighing with joy she stayed close to him, enjoying every moment she shared with him.

Without looking to her he walked on with her at his side. The pathway soon opened up to a small valley between one peak of the mountain that disappeared into the clouds and another large peak that also lost itself in the clouds. The valley felt warm and not so cold like the other parts of the mountains outside. Warm wind from the deserts on the other side of the mountain channeled through this extremely long winding valley and made it more pleasant with the ice cold snow falling from above, an odd mixture of warm and cold, but perfect for what he had engineered for the surrounding architecture. Machine made holes were drilled into the side of both mountains, tapping the mountain springs within. All of these holes were capped off with statues of male heads with their mouths opened, letting the water pour from their mouths and into the water below.

Yes, this small valley looked like a long stretch of rice patties without the rice. The water only being about 3 to 4 feet deep with nice warm water flowing from one pool to the next one in a downward slope like manner. He smiled at its beauty and looked to the coy fish that swimmer about. The sides of the pool were decorated with shiny blue tiles and the bottom of each pool was floor' with smooth black river stones. The side paths that surrounded each pool had relaxing looking fluffy chairs that leaned back, mosaic patterns covered each. Next to them were round black stone tables that would hold drinks and such. Above each statue male head in the mountain walls had small soil planters fitted next to them with tropical trees and flowers in them.

To gain a better understanding, these heads were about 10 feet in diameter with a single tree on either side that climbed about 15 feet. Each poll was oval and about 20 feet across and 30 feet in length. Dust looked to Sarah knowing she wasn't expecting a tropical atmosphere at these heights. But what allowed the vegetation and the fish able to survive at these altitudes was the fact that the valley was like a 700 km long snake that wiped and winded from one side of the mountain range to the other side where the desert was located. Those warm winds traveled the length of the valley and supplied a healthy amount of warm breezes to keep the tropical like area from freezing over. Dust looked to Sarah, "So, I can imagine you?re in a small state of awe, right?"

Sarah had seemingly come to a halt. Her jaw, dropped. She hadn't seen anything like this ever in her life. In all her traveling while she escaped her father's grip. Even when she was chasing Penny Thane in order to finally get her wish and be away from that monstrous man. The worlds she had visited, none of them had anything like this. She had to rub her eyes to make sure she hadn't fallen asleep during their walk. It was real, all of it was real. She was definitely in awe, in truth that was a massive understatement.

Each detail was trying its best to be processed by her, but she couldn't get past the beauty of it all. She turned to look at him. Her jaw still dropped as she tried to form words, still nothing came out. It was amazing, each detail held its own beauty and when it came together it was stunning. She finally nodded and closed her jaw. Her eyes darting back to the area around them with amazement, even though she was weary, she had to take in the atmosphere for just a few moments longer. It took her breath away, just like his smile did.

It was like their first kiss in the few nights after they had first met. It was like that moment the Glass Mirror had activated and made time stand still as she got lost in that first moment of the beginning of her new life. Her mind raced, that night. If she hadn't begged to go she wouldn't have been here would she? Even now, more than ever was she grateful for her persistence to be by his side, to be safe and warm. His kindness towards her when they first met was something she hadn't wants to let go of. She was glad she hadn't let go of it. She was glad that she had did everything she could to stay by his side. It was amazing to think of what ifs from time to time, but now... What ifs seemed to be something that was impossible to her?

This was the fact of her life, of how ways were down to every last detail. A beautiful display leading to something so wonderful that she would never want to go back the way she came. She felt her want to stay in the beauty of her new life and her desire to make sure her new life was wonderful grew with each passing moment. She turned back to him and gave a light, wondered laugh as a few happy tears trailed down her cheek," It's beautiful, so beautiful!"

"I'm glad you think so. And about your question you asked me... what will become of us after you changes and after I become Emperor... Well to say the least, I want you to be my bride. I want to wake up every morning with you by my side and when the day is over and the night has come, you will be in my arms as we drift off to sleep. We will be like the universe itself. Our love will stand for all time and nothing will come between us. I want to build a family with you and have children that we can teach and raise together. I want every moment to not just be dedicated to this Empire. But also dedicated to you. You will be my wife and my Empress."

He smiled to her as he embraced her in his arms, giving her kisses one after another that slowly led to her neck. "I love you Sarah!" He looked to where they had come from the path and then to where they were. He knew the quickest way to the estates from where they stood and it was actually a very short travel away.

If the place hadn't managed to keep her breath stolen it was his words. The words of him wanting her as his bride, his Empress. Each bit made her heart soar. Children, even that thought brought her joy. As he embraced her she started to sob with joy, knowing that she was living a dream and by gods she would make sure the deities never woke her up from them, or they would pay. His kisses were returned with her own, her arms holding him close as much as he did to her. Her neck was leaning to his kisses and her joy was growing.

As he spoke of his love she brought her lips to his once more," I love you Dust! ?She cried out with bliss surging through her. Every fiber of her being was dancing among the stars at that moment. She was so happy that he wanted her, that he saw a future with her. She couldn't see her life any other way without Dust by her side. That alone was enough to tell her she would never leave his side," By the rise and fall of the sun and the stars I will love you forever Dust. Always and forever."

He snickered at the thought. That was sort of snicker that showed his joy without the use of words. He wrapped his arm around her once more as he pointed to a nearby double glass door. "This way...? He walked over and opened the door for her then closed it behind them. They were in a small red velvet room that had no windows or doors except for the one they just walked through. It was completely empty, "337-ADX" He said aloud, soon enough the room silently began to rise upwards at a hastily speed. And just as the room lift has come to a slow and complete stop.

He looked to her in all her beauty and just couldn't get over how well she was adapting this world of his. She was always beautiful and had grown more and more beautiful every day, a simple side effect of becoming a Core he supposed. The Clothing she wore only complimented her beauty. Her personality was amazing and the way she carried herself... it seemed like she was born to live this life, to be his wife, to become Empress of the Core Empire.

He must have done something good in his life time to deserve an amazing woman such as her. She was Goddess among Goddesses. He smirked at the thought as he pushed her up against the velvet padded wall with his hands locked into hers and began running kisses up and down her neck and collar bone. He could say I love you all he wanted but those words could never compare to how much he really loved her. Just as he thought to himself that this wasn't the right time or place to be part taking in such intimate moments a voice from the ceiling spoke out over a AP system.. 'Get a Room you two.' followed by laughing in the security room over the AP system. He laughed as he always welcomed humor in his life. Then walked over to the double glass doors and opened them up to reveal the estates resting in a corner of the mountain.

Only one entrance was apparent, with large ebony colored wall with ivory and silver decorating either side of the entrance. It looked like both the gates to hell and heaven but the designs made in ivory and silver looked like a male figure on one side sitting in a thrown holding a Aya flower and one the other side of the Entrance decorated in ivory and silver was a women sitting in a thrown holding a Aya flower.

The gates of the entrance themselves were made of silver and black metal, two Crimson Guards stood on either side, always at attention. Their pikes were holding to the ground and pointing straight up into the air. They saw Dust and Sarah and quickly opened the gates for them. Dust looked to Sarah and said, "Come along darling, our home lies on the other side of that large wall.

The warmth of his arms as he guided her forwards was enough to add to the moment. Always were they strong and wonderful to her. AS they entered the room she looked about curiously. Her fingers tracing over the velvet as he spoke out. Her eyes turned to him as the room started to rise. She blushed to the way he was looking at her. Unaware of how much she had changed, or how much more beautiful she had gotten through the days. She wasn't sure how she should be taking the information he was giving her, except to be supportive. Always be supportive.

When the room stopped she smiled to him. She let him stare at her as much as he liked. She loved when he did, it made her feel all the more special in that moment. She'd always stay by his side, always. She gasped lightly as she was pressed into the wall. Each of his kisses sending tingles up her spine and over her figure. Her eyes had closed, lost in the moment even then. She knew that there would be nothing to compare to the way she felt about him to the way she loved him, but she was still a bit annoyed when the AP system called out.

When he laughed she snickered and buried her face in his neck. She shook her head even when he moved for the doors and beyond. Her eyes took in the double doors carefully; she squeezed his hand and smiled to him. Her eyes scanned the man and woman both in turn. Gaping at their wondrous beauty, even the Aya flowers they held. Smiling she nodded to the guards and then to his words. She followed him as he led the way as always. She smiled, her mind still a bit foggy with what had just happened in the velvet room, but she was fine. Each step she took showed that she was dealing with the effects of constantly being on cloud 9 with him.

Holding her hand he carefully watched the two crimson guards as they stood at attention and saluted. He smiled and then laughed, "Your crimson Guards, no need to salute, just serve and protect me and my family." He saluted anyways and watched as they nodded in acknowledgment and closed the gates behind him and Sarah as they passed through. On the other side of the large black wall was the Belarus estates... but it seemed different somehow.

There were fewer buildings but looked just as beautiful as before if not more so. The Zen water pond was still at it center. But what was different was there were no barracks, import/export building, nothing but the Main Manor, the maid?s house, the Guard house, and a few other houses. Only giving way to more room for such things as an Aya Flower Garden and more room for much more Water Gardens. A few other buildings did seem new though, such as the training building, small school, and a clock tower that looked like it was uprooted from the city.

Dust grinned as he looked to the clock tower knowing Sarah wouldn't have expected to see that way up here in the mountains. One other building seemed to have been under construction and was still being built. It looks more traditional than the others and had pans of colorful glass windows leaning against the building waiting to be installed. He looked ahead to see a path made from black and white marble forming clever designs leading from the front entrance to the steps of the main manor. Dust held Sarah's hand as they both walked to the front steps of the manor, what was once Ash's house was now theirs. A place they could finally call home.

Sarah was looking at Dust after she saw the Clock Tower. Giggling lightly she squeezed his hand and beamed. She was glad at the fact that just like him, she found that she couldn't imagine being so far away from such a treasured place. As they moved for the stairs of the manor she pulled the hand holding hers to her lips and kissed it lovingly.

Her eyes dancing over the manor and then turning to him," Home sweet home." She giggled and pulled him along. She was starting to rush up the stairs, eager to be inside and finally fully alone with him. No more AP to worry about. She beamed with delight and nudged the door open as she looked back to him," Our home... Always... Our home." She thought for a moment and snickered," Well, at least until we decide to retire." She winked to him as she started to edge inside.

He ran over to her and lifted her up off the ground with both hands, pulling her into a cradle like position, in no time he was sprinting up the stairs and to their room. Shutting the door with his foot as he tossed her literally onto the bed, soon he was kicking off his boots and carelessly tearing off his clothing as he reached over to her and began to assist in taking of her clothes.

Soon enough they were both on the bed as he pinned her down and begin to kiss along her neck once more. As the room began to pick up now that they were in bed, the lights in the house began to die down and the fireplace sparked to life, giving the room not just a good amount of warmth, but also set a romantic mood and atmosphere. What had happened in the darkness of that room is still only known between the two of them.

Chapter III | | Phase Two? Err? Phase Three? Wait? What?s going on?

Sarah and Dust had gone out for the evening. Dust had business to tend to and lead them towards the hall where he would run into Gabriel Ashlocke and Family. It was a while when the talked about the duties Gabriel would have to partake in once Dust has assigned his duties. Dust was trying to keep Gabriel from being harmed, from leaving behind a wife and child. Sarah understood. After a few hours of speaking Rachel, the trainer, and Marie, the hyperactive child, were leaving. Giving a few moments of piece? Or so Sarah thought.

After his wife and child had vanished, Gabriel had a smile on his face but fell backwards," Dust...I?m in hell..." He lifted his head up then let it think back to the floor.

Dust couldn't help but grin at the odd moment and then looked to Gabe as he confessed to his life stories. "You should take it easy Gabriel." He thought for a moment before inhaling some once more, "You really shouldn't beat yourself up so much. If you have an issue or problem then either seek professional help or take it up with HR." He grinned at the notion.
"Dust...She trained me six hours before Dawn...AND BREAKFAST!" His head and an arm shot up.

Sarah blinked and arched a brow. There was almost a snort of laughter when she heard Dust's suggestion. Even more so when she listened to the torture that was Gabriel's life. Her head shook and she spoke up again," Perhaps she's just bored... Needs more students? Did you ever think of looking for her?" A brow arched up curiously and she grinned," Or you could go though the agony of quitting your training... See how she takes it."

"If you expect me to help you then all you have to do is ask." He exhaled the cigar smoke and slapped a hand onto Gabriel' shoulder. "Simple as that." Dust begin to let the gears spin in his head as he thought about getting Gabriel out of this personal hell of his and give him some vacation time for his to get himself back together. He should be the man of the house, respect and love his wife but also take on responsibility to lead the family in most decisions and show them that he can support and take of all the problems they seem to run into. "So, would you like my help or not?"

"Nah..I?m good...It makes her happy...And besides,....I dare not become the man my father was...I will not be the one to discipline Marie..."He rolled back onto his shoulders, his hands moved to the floor. He flipped up and landed crouching with a loud thud," Besides Sarah...If I got her more students she would kill them." His watched beeped crazily," Well better get back and get some sleep." He saluted Dust then smiled. He spun and dove right into a portal into his living room. He cracked his knuckles and the portal began to close until a low Blink noise came from it vanishing.

The Captain of the Crimson Guard made his steady trek through the city and towards the Emperor's current position, polished black boots making little noise against the cobblestones with a practiced and sure step. Sylth's hair was braided back into a thick, hip-length affair, faded silver tied at the end with a thick, heavy ring of obsidian.

Rusted orange eyes flashed seamlessly across every inch of every building, alleyway, and street lamp. Black gloved hands held place at his sides, and he rounded the corner of the final street. The outdoor area was given an unseen examination as he approached the Emperor and Empress, as well as their apparent company. Internal systems kicked into gear as he came to a halt, no more than a respectable distance from the pair.

"What kind of man won't discipline his children? Wouldn't that just lead to a spoiled and arrogant child?" She blinked again and arched a brow. Her head turned to Dust and she mumbled," Please tell me when we have our family they won't get away with everything?" Sarah wasn't all that worried; something told her that their children would grow more or less afraid to cross Dust from just what they learned in school.

Honey hues turned and she looked towards the Guard. Her head nodded and she smiled in a soft manner. The cigarette in her mouth was pulled away subtly and dropped from her lips. It came to plop on the ground just in time for her foot to crush the smoldering life out of it.

His stern features shifted into a suitably responsible smile, and his head dipped. "Whenever you're ready Emperor, Empress." Hands folded behind his back, and he scanned the area once again. The most advantageous spot was taken up, and he waited for them to rise at their own discretion.

His head turned ever so slightly to see his personal Crimson Guard standing only a few meters away. He turned his figure completely and nodded to him. "That armor seems to suit you well, Captain." He smiled as he walked over to him, only standing a few feet away, his eyes quickly looking over the uniform as if quickly inspecting it.

Everything seemed to be cleaned and in order. He glanced to Sarah from afar and smiled to her, "Would you really suspect that I wouldn't raise our own children properly? You should know me better than that." He smiled to her as he reached a hand out to her and looked about. He was expecting one of his own Pull-R's to arrive at any moment.

"Many thanks, Emperor Belarus. I see to it that every Guard shines, polishes, and orders their armor to the most respectable levels personally." His head turned sharply, as if awaiting the arrival of something.

Sarah sighed in relief and looked to Dust lovingly," I would hope so. After all they'll be half yours..." She grinned and snickered," I'm not taking the blame all the way for them causing trouble like you did." She beamed and then turned to look at the Guard," No wonder he's the best in the Guard. He fits the role quite well." Smiling to Slyth and squeezing Dust's hand.

"Indeed the Captain does. Well, Come along." Finally after a few long moments the distant sound of an engine purring out into the night could be heard. Black shined metal entrapped the frame of this wonderfully designed vehicle, on either side of the front of the vehicle were small flags... Red in color, there was a blue triangle in the center that was carved into two hands holding a white flower; the Aya flower.

The black stretched vehicle had come to a stop and parked. A man in a black suit stepped out of the passenger side of the vehicle and walked to the very back of the stretched vehicle; a white gloved hand reached for the silver handle of the door and opened it. Dust allowed his wife to step in first. "After you dear."

Sarah followed until she saw the car. There was a pause to check and see if there were any blue dragons about. She turned back to look over the car and then to Dust. Squeezing his hand she stepped forwards and towards the door. She slid in after Dust offered and looked to him," Why thank you dear." Smiling wider she winked to him and moved over all the way.

Her fingers drumming over the side of the seat that was Dust's," Well common... I don't want to get old and gray waiting Old Man!" She teased him as she thought of earlier. How could she think him old? His hair was done up in a Mohawk today! Her head lulled back on the coosh of the seat as she snickered and her legs folded one over the other.

He simply smiled and crouched down as he stepped into the car. Sliding over to his love and then looking outside of the car to the Captain. "Aren't you going to sit back here with us? I'm not taking no for an answer...? He smiled as he said this and waited for the Guard. Knowing the man in the black suit would shut the door behind them.

He looked to Sarah and stole a quick kiss. "...old?" He snickered at the thought. His hand ran along the stitching of the black leather seats, his buckle not on just yet, or did he even consider putting it on at all? He looked around the cab of the car. It seemed large enough to throw a hot tub in there. Chilled mini-fridge, a large sun roof, plenty of cigars... just the ones he loved too. Then again, it wasn't often he was able to take a ride in these sorts of diplomatic vehicles.

"Of course, Emperor Belarus." The Captain's smile crossed the boundary between on and off-duty only for a moment, as he entered the vehicle and took a seat along the seats running the length of the vehicle. He moved his braid to rest over his shoulder, the familiar weight of the obsidian a constant relief.

Sarah gave him a quick kiss back as she looked around and towards the window. Her eyes were taking in the hall for one final moment as the door was shut behind the captain. Her fingers were dancing over Dust's hand. She was tracking the lines on his palm and around his knuckles. Honey hues looking up as the stars came into view and smiling.

There was a gentile glow from the moon and her head turned to look towards Dust while she whispered," How long will the ride take?" Her brows lifted and she smiled as softly as possible for her face. Something was nagging at the back of her mind, warning her to be careful how quickly she wanted the second change to happen. It wouldn't matter; she shrugged and sighed, turning a bit so that her legs came to rest over his lap. Getting comfy.

Just as the door shut behind the Captain, the man in the suit double stepped to his seat in front, acting as the navigator in a sense. Dust looked to Sarah, "About 28 minutes." He smiled to her as he moved his hand off from beneath hers and held it softly. His eyes wondering around the Cabin, the low hum of the vehicle came to life and they were set into motion.

The natural vibrations of the vehicle and low hum was enough to throw him into a state of relaxation and soon enough resting his eyes, but instead he looked across the cabin to the Captain and grinned, "How are you enjoying your position so far?" He again looked over his features and how well he kept his uniform in tip top shape, a man who was truly dedicated to his title. He indeed deserved every bit of benefits and perks the title had available. "I hope we been treating you well."

Sarah took the chance to close her eyes. Her sigh coming and a swallow forming as she held onto his hand. She listened to Dust calmly, trying to keep her mind focused anywhere but what she had been dreading the past few days. She was nervous to say the least. Her head turned on its side and rested against the coosh of the chair as she continued to think over the next stage. She wasn't afraid; she welcomed the next step, and the following one. Deep breaths were drawn in and out as she felt the ride continue on. Knowing soon they would be out of the city and closing in on the mountains.

"It's more than I could have possibly hoped for in a position, Emperor Belarus. The recruits are dedicated, and eager to begin more difficult training every day. I'm personally feeling better than I have in years. I look forward to Captaining the Crimson Guard for a good, long while." Sylth was smiling more easily now, speaking of his recruits and his work. Nothing could make him happier than doing his job to the fullest of his abilities, after all. "Have you both been well through your outing?"

By this time the car had just left the city limits. The sparkling lights of the city slowly fused together into clusters as perspective and distance came together. He listened to every word that shuffled in order from the Captain. "I'm glad to hear that you feel comfortable here. There will be plenty of room for advancement for you, and I know you?re not one to disappoint." He smiled to the Captain for a moment as he looked to Sarah, resting his hand on hers.

Pulling his tunic over his head and laying it down over her body to keep her warm and comfortable while she rested. He looked back to the Captain, "And our outing. It was pleasing. It's not too often me and my wife is able to venture off into the city or anywhere else for that matter. I am usually kept busy with the empire and my wife is usually either by my side or spending much of her free time exploring the empire and discovering new ways to help me out." he smiled as he took out a cigar and then looked to the Captain once more, "You can call me Dust when your off-duty or when we have our own privacy such as now.. Would you care for a cigar? They are rolled from dried Aya pedals... very smooth and delicious."

Sarah smiled as she felt his tunic placed over her smaller form. Her ears twitched and she smiled each time she heard wife. Her thumb grazed over Dust's hand for a moment and she sighed softly. Her mind relaxed for once as she heard each word her husband said. Biting her lip and shifting a bit she turned her face further away from the window and away from the moon light.

It was a bit annoying as she settled there, reminding her of the days where she would have no choice but to change into a flesh hungry wolf, eager for its next victim. Her brow furred and she brought the tunic over her face. Too many negative thoughts were pushing through her mind and she was getting tired of it.

"Of course... Dust. And, yes, I think I would." The roughest thing the Captain did anymore was switch between formality and informality. A gloved hand extended, taking the cigar in hand as a smile crept into place upon his high, angular features. The cigar was cut, lit, and several cursory puffs were taken before he relaxed into a nearly casual way. The cigar was, of course, held over an ash tray at all still moments. No chances would be taken on that uniform.

"I been meaning to ask you if there is anything you would like to change or add to the men?s training program. I just want to be sure that everything they do will push them past their limits and into a state of perfection. After all, the Crimson guards and Tengu are the best. And if changing a few things to keep it that way would help in any way, then why not." He smiled as he cut his own cigar and heated the edge without the use of a lighter, a minimal amount of puffs were taken until it was nicely lit and ready to enjoy.

The stretched vehicle found itself on a nicely black paved road in the middle of a very dark forest, the trees stretched higher than the average 200 meters. These woodland trees were wider than most buildings, Dust knew as well as any that dark creatures lurked in these necks of the woods. But it was protected by them; it was the Void State Park and Nature Reserve.

Looking to the Captain once more he began to think even further than his previous comments and questions. But let them rest for the moment while they relaxed in the safety of the speeding vehicle. He was willing to answer most questions the captain had for them so long as they didn't purge anything that was above top secret security clearance. Although if the Captain had been promoted to a higher rank and pay grade then he would be by Dust's side, almost all the time during his on-duty shift. "So, Sylth. Do you have any questions for me?"

Sarah noticed the change in location just by the way the light was reflecting through the window. Still she remained silent. She even drifted in and out of consciousness while she lay there. Her head lifted and for a moment her eyes opened to turn and look out the window into the forest. She could feel the eyes watching them, could feel their aggression. Sucking in a breath she tilted her head as if almost reading the forest to seek out where the most prominent area was for what was her kind. When she found it she smirked, noting how they had not chose a savage life.

There was some hope after all. She could picture it now, a bond fire taking place as groups of werewolves gathered to dance under the moon. She remembered the first time she had been to one of Syn's raves. The way vampires and werewolves danced under Syn's music, their own figures heating up the room as they rocked and grinded into each other?s form. That was a few days before she learned of a cure, but they wouldn't need it. She wouldn't need it.

She was settling down and back under the tunic she took up looking at Dust in the broken light of the moon through the trees. The light on his face was calming, putting her mind at ease. Her skin at that moment had started to tingle and itch. She brushed it off, probably thinking it was just from recalling the nature of a life she had left behind so long ago.

"Well, I have been compiling lists of possible augmentations for any given training exercise. Mostly creating more difficult scenarios in which to perform them, but I'd like to go through them myself before I could allow the recruits any attempts." The Captain's eyes remained steady on the Emperor, as he thought of any more questions he could have. "I have been wondering; Dust, about the amount of time allowed for training. I think I could allocate more of my time to work and maintain my current training load if I cut another few hours from my off-time."

Even the Captain was wary of trying to get himself the amount of work he wanted. He could go down to the bare amount of time for a good sleep and be happy with it, but he had a feeling he wouldn't be allowed to let himself slip into the role of a soldier-zombie.

The car cruised and capped their speed off at 89kmh. The lights of the Dragon Head Dam began to show through the trees. If the windows were rolled down they would hear and smell the water forming at the base of the Dam and steadily moving down river towards the city. The car began to slow down as it passed onto a bridge that was built just beneath a water fall; the water fell over the side of the bridge keeping the car from being too wet. The windshield wipers did flick back and forth to clear the mist of water forming on the wind shield.

Looking to the captain as they passed beneath the water fall, he took a few puffs of that cigar and chewed lightly at that nicely cut end. "I'm glad to hear that you been coming up with more ways to condition the soldiers more efficiently. If you would like to alter the training exercised in any way then you have my consent and resources." He took another few short puffs from the cigar and exhaled, "As for the amount of hours you dedicate to your shift..." He thought for a moment then continued, "Just don't push you too hard. Be sure to eat a well balanced meal three times a day, relax some, and get a good night?s rest. If you?re able to do those three things then by all means take up as many hours as you see fit. It's a good strategy to rack up those vacation hours and PTO time." He grinned to Sylth, he somehow reminded him of himself during his youth. The car followed along the road and exited the other side of the river where the water fall had ended. Now the vehicle followed the base of the mountain, following its ever curve, dip, and hill.

Her eyes turned upwards as she heard the waterfall. Her mind reminded her to take a look at such a big waterfall when she had the time to. Sarah turned to look towards Dust again. Her was skin still itching. A finger was drawn over her neck and she scratched it lightly. Remaining silent until she turned to look towards the driver, she was not meaning to be rude when she spoke up," How much longer?" I

t wasn't that she was getting antsy; she was just starting to feel cluttered in the car as time passed. She swallowed and itched at her neck again. Her nerves were getting the better of her as she squirmed a bit uncomfortable for a moment. Sucking in a deep breath she rested her head back against the coosh of the seat.

"Of course, Dust." The Captain managed a grin; he did look forward to off time when it was something well-earned. His eyes turned then to the Empress, wondering. She seemed off. He turned back to the Emperor, unasked questions running through his eyes.

The car came to the large industrialized military elevator used for large trucks, machinery, and cargo. The car drove onto the elevator along with one of their own military trucks that carried troops, and on the other side was a simple cargo platform holding metal and wooden boxes, a very large fork lift held it all in its grip as the elevator began to lift upwards. Very soon the lift eased to a halt over 2km's high. They were at the foothold of the cargo and transportation center.

The car eased off the large elevator along with the other two truck loads and found itself a parking spot alongside other stretched vehicles of different models and makes. "Well, we're here. The man in the black suit came to the side of the car and opened the door once more allowing them to get out of the vehicle. "Wake up hunn, we're here." He smiled to her as he took the tunic off from her figure and helped her out of the car. "Will you be accompanying us Captain, or would you like to retire for the evening?"

Looking to his wife soon after, he could feel the core in her body begin to pulse, it was a ripple in the air that no one else could feel but Sarah and himself. He knew she was troubled and that it was nearing dangerously close to that second phase in her transformation. If they were lucky enough, she would take on phase two head on and breeze through phase three all in one night.

Sarah slid from the car rather gratefully. Her form stretched and turned while she gasped for breath. She didn't feel cluttered any more. But her skin was still itching. She reached back and itched at her neck again. Running her nails over the side and back before drawing down one of her shoulders and then over her arms. She shivered and wriggled when something like a chill ran down her spine.

Gulping she turned and looked towards Dust with her honey orbs. Suddenly it felt like her skin was on fire. Like her skin was almost crawling. She figured it was just her burning up, maybe she was getting a cold, but she wasn't all that sure now that she took a step. Her form turned to face her husband and she exhaled slowly," Dust..." Even then she was wary of moving too much. Her fingers were still itching at her neck and arms," I won't stop itching...?

"I should get back to the barracks, Emperor." He moved from the vehicle, but paused as the Empress made mention of her discomfort. "Should I call for a medical team, Empress? Emperor?"

"No need to worry, she's just going through her second phase for the moment. It should pass by within the hour." He went to her side and took her by the hand; looking into her eyes he gave a reassuring and comforting smile, "Would you like the machine?" Most people hadn't known what this classified machine was, but he had mentioned it to Sarah. And it was the very same machine that turned the Captain into an Imperial Core. The machine would make those three phases wiz by in seconds.

He hated to see his wife in pain and agony. He wanted to take her straight to the machine and get this entire thing done and over with, but he knew it was her choice to make, not his own. He glanced back to the Captain and nodded to him, "You may retire for the evening, Captain. Another Guard will be arriving shortly to start the next shift." He gave a reassuring smile to him and allowed him to take his leave for the evening, unless he felt he should stay.

Sarah was rocking on the balls of her feet at this point. Nerves were heightened as she heard that she was going through the second phase. Sucking in a deep breath as she stood there she nodded to his question," Yes, yes... Please..." Her eyes going wide as she stood there, instantly her itching stopped so that she was fully holding her arm.

She winced as she froze fully. Pain was starting to come at her insides out. She closed her eyes tightly and shifted a bit on her toes. Her figure turned and she murmured," It's starting Dust... The pain..." There was another wince from her as she plopped down on her knees. Her eyes turning to look towards her fingers, the tips of her fingers beginning to bubble lightly then twitch. She finally felt the pain gather a bit worse and she bit back from crying out. This wasn't going to be pretty if they couldn't get her to the machine in time.

"Very well, Emperor Belarus. I wish you a swift transition, Empress." He dipped his head, and moved off for the evening, a solid figure moving out. A similarly dressed Guard passed him less than a hundred meters from them, headed in their direction. The Captain was now off-duty.

Dust jumped at Sarah with a big hug and like they disappeared into thin air he sped off with her in his arms. His vision blurred to an orange with red fuzziness at the edges. As he cut through hall ways, stairs, lifts, and walls themselves a large dust trail picked up behind him with impractible speed. Like a supernatural hero from a film flick he arrived in the large scientific center known as the Disconnection.

It was here that scientists and personnel watched over the machine and lined up only the most qualified soldiers to be transformed into Imperial Cores, and inducted into the Academy for the Crimson Guard where most would die from the stresses of training and collapse of their own self-esteem from the monstrously disciplined drill instructors. But at this moment the hot seat of the machine was reserved for Sarah. He sat her down in the comfortable reclined chair of the machine and looked to her... "Darling, What do you want, just this phase or the entire transformation completely done and over with?"

Sarah was gripping at his shirt again. Little cracks and tears were forming on her hands as she felt him move like a jet through the Estates towards their destination. Her eyes were forming tears and she whimpered out lightly. It wasn't into a chunk of skin seemingly started to bubble and dissolve, small droplets of blood following them now as he moved, just from parts that were starting to dissolve in places it was thinnest.

She could hardly feel the chair as she was set down. Pain so great she couldn't even scream in agony. Her golden eyes were dripping tears, slowly mixing with crimson as she whispered," All." There was a bit of crimson pooling from her lips and her nose while each organ but her brain began the process of dying out and being replaced by Bio- Alloy. She wanted to be done with this. She wanted to be done with her changes. She was ready to be like Dust, ready to finally be completely able to stand at his side. Her hand squeezed his, a bit of her new structure that had already changed from phase one shimmering where the skin and flesh was completely gone.

He looked to her with a smile and began to punch numerous buttons on the terminal next to this chair. Soon enough the chair which was actually like a hand to a large hydraulic arm moved off from the ground and into a large metallic tank with only one view port that allow them to see each other from where he was working at. Still in the chair the tank began to fill with gases that stripped her body of all her organic flesh and muscles. They peeled off like dry paint chips; another gas filed the air of the tank that began to allow her to feel now pain to an extent. She was still aware of what was going on with her body but was unable to acknowledge most of the pain that traveled to her brain.

He began to punch in digits and lines of codes that modified the machine to work faster and more efficiently so long as he was at the terminal. Gases mixed and exchanged within the tank an soon enough he punched in a few more lines of coding. The tank began to fill with a very dense liquid. Flood lights within the tank lit up letting the water become clearer and her body more visible. He slipped his hands into a pair of robotic gloves connected to the terminal and began to with the robotic arms within the tank, slowly and very carefully slipping off her clothed and letting them sink to the bottom of the tank.

Her body looked like a burnt marshmallow that just had its burnt layers peeled from its creamy white center. Bone and organs could be seen through this translucent skin of hers, lights within the tank lit up letting the water become clearer and her body more visible.

Bone and organs could be seen through this translucent skin of her It was that single layer of skin that kept her organs from spilling all out into the tank. That would be a sight he didn't long to see. He looked around for a moment as he noticed her vital signs on the terminal kept peaking and then dipping over and over. With most beings that have a heart in their chest it would be a good sign to see a heart beat on the vital signs screen.

The dips and peaks would be a great things meaning their healthy. But for an Imperial core it is a bad sign. Their status needs to be level, exactly like a flat line as they call it in the human medical field. He drew in another deep breath and sighed. He looked around the room for something, anything. He saw a cart behind him filled with spare boot parts, made from nuetrilum carbon fiber. The same substance he makes all of his weapons from. He had an idea that would help her condition. He reached an arm outwards to the cart of parts, opening his hand up as if he were holding them all from his point of view and then clenched his hand into a solid fist, seeing the contents of the cart quickly crumble and condense into a small ball of parts.

He quickly formed it into a long sharp object, almost looking like an executioner?s sword... He looked back over his shoulder to his wife in the tank and smiled, blowing her a kiss... "I love you hunn." And then just as quickly raised the sword and brought it down hard onto his left forearm, watching as a dark black line appeared around his forearm like ink and then smiling as his forearm simply fell to the floor with a thud. A bent over and picked it up off the ground and then threw it into a feeding box, closed the door and watched it be transported into the tank. As soon as the arm touched the liquids of the inner tank that black ink colored blood from his arm mixed with the water and crawled and consumed Sarah quickly. The liquid turned black and was clouded for what seemed like infinity.

Sarah's eyes never left him. Never would leave him as she lay there. Her head lifted and her body which looked liked it had been scorched to bits was falling apart before her own eyes. Bits and pieces of skin were falling off her form, and her core was pulsing at odd beats. Her form was fighting against the old to bring in the new. She was feeling her throat becoming more and more filled with pain as the minor bits of her started to decay away. It was soon hard to keep any focus on him at all. Her eyes soon closed as she inhaled and exhaled so she wasn't aware of the trouble he was seeing. Over and over she had to repeat in her mind,' as long as Dust is by my side I have nothing to fear.' He was going to be by her side till the end she knew it, hell he knew it.

There was a moment where a muffled call came from outside the glass and her eyes opened. She saw his blood and her eyes went almost eye popping wide with worry. She wanted to call out to him, but it was too late, she saw that arm fall and then scooped up by Dust. Seeing him like that added a new bit of worry to her changes. She saw the arm enter the machine and then everything around her went black. Her eyes closed and she lay back. Her mind was racing, wondering what was going on that Dust had to lose an arm. All she could do was wait and hope that it would all end. That everything would end and the pain would stop for her. But as Dust had hoped, it wasn't as terrible a pain as it could have been for her, though she didn't know it entirely.

The liquid had filled the tank completely now and she was completely submerged, it was only a matter of time till she was forced to breath it in and her lungs would be filled with this special water. But, the water began to automatically recycle itself and clear the black up till everything was clear once more. The changes didn't take full effect yet. It was odd, her vital signs were still iffy but overall things were good. He looked over the systems and checked everything twice.

Scientist were standing on platforms above him like statues, they didn't move, they couldn't do anything but watch and wait. But they knew as well as Dust that she was still in a critical state. She was still unchanged. The scientist all new this phase all too well. This usually meant that the subject/Sarah was rejecting the procedure and usually the person in the tank would become lifeless... a failure and a corpse.

Dust knew this as well, but wouldn't give in to such a situation. If he was going to give her his heart in love... His arm... he might as well give her his entire body and essence. He looked up to the scientist who looked back to him, having an idea of what he would do next to keep her alive. He was going to attempt something no one had ever attempted before... the ultimate sacrifice in order to save the women he loved from extinction.

He took his clothes off. His naked body climbed the outside of the tank and over ridded the security locks of the tank, lifting the hatch and leaped into the tank with her, letting the hatch close and lock behind him. Floating next to her body he looked into her eyes and smiled, giving her a gentle kiss and then attempted to speak under water... "Ash once told me that nothing is impossible!" He yelled it out as loud as he could to her but all that came out was indistinct words filled with bubbles. He held her close to him and closed his eyes as he inhaled the liquid. He could feel his skin burn, crack, tare open from the liquid.

The machine did not recognize him as the subject/Sarah. So naturally just like the arm, he would dissolve into the liquid and by sacrificing himself he would save her. Let her transform completely into an Imperial Core. His black bloods spewed out into the water making it cloudy and soon pitch black. His core began to shuffle pulses and began to ripple all across the station like an earthquake. Lights and computer systems hiccupped.

A black out was progressing and red emergency lights spun around all across most of the mountain. The Disconnect Facility begun to shake as pipes had become backed up with pressure. The scientist broke away from watching the tank and instead ran for the closest exit thinking that all of this backed up energy would blow the place sky high. Cat walks shook and fell to the ground one after another. Steam pipes shot bolts in all directions and electrical cords and machinery fell from the ceiling.

The place looked like it could have erupted at any moment. The terminal Dust was working at began to spark and power down. All the tanks around them began to shatter, spilling that special liquid all across the floor and hit critical electrical systems. What was Dust thinking? The entire Disconnection Facility was failing down on itself. Was it such a risk that he had to take?

As the darkness cleared around Sarah she looked up. Her back arched and she almost screamed out as the liquids filled her lungs. Someone had said not so long ago to her that Drowning was a peaceful way to die. She didn't think it was as she lay there trying to take in air. Panic was gripping her and her eyes were shaking. She could feel her body starting to tire and wear down. More and more the surroundings of the tank were becoming blurred and unfamiliar. She arched up again her form still working to rid itself of the old still determined to cling to her.

Then there was his lips, his arm around her and holding her tight. Her arms feebly reached out and held onto him tightly. She heard the garble, didn't understand, but didn't care. He was there with her. He was there. She could feel the pain fading more and more as she grew even wearier. Her head rested against his shoulder, her eyes closed and she gripped him close. It was possibly the only sign of fear on her. Her nails were gripping into his back before they too started to dissolve and disappear. She was clinging to his frame as more and more of her structure began to fade away.

As the darkness came again she could feel her core pulsing out to his, not liking the way his was rippling. There was fear gripping her even more so now as she felt the tank tremble to the earthquake. Several screams came to her ears as scientists ran for their lives. Horror in them, but she focused where she was needed. He needed her like she needed him. Dust. Again her core pulsed and her arms tightened around her beloved. Even though the world around them was in chaos, she was more worried about the chaos happening in the man who was holding her just as close. Just as everything was getting dark, gray she mouthed," Dust..."

His body was dissolving more and more till her grip around him was nothing more than her hugging at the water. The water pressure suddenly heightened and became unbearable for any being. The pipes would burst and electrical shortages became apparent. The glass of the tank stressed and cracked from the pressure. But just before it could rupture, the entire place went silent.........

Chapter Three: Part Two || The Birth of Something New

Scientist stopped in their tracks to the odd void of sound and looked to each other. The flames had gone out and the shaking of the earth came to a haul. They didn't even chance whispering to each other. They stressed their ears to listen to the dead silence of everything. Nothing could be head and nothing moved to show any real danger, which was exactly what froze them in fear. The red emergency lights were the only thing moving about the facility. Suddenly the Scientists all looked to the quiet tank as they heard the glass crack only a small bit. Ripples were sent outwards from the tank just like before... a long time ago. The emergency lights began to slow down their spin and then faded in light intensity... soon one burst letting plastic fall to the ground. Then another burst'. Soon all of them just burnt out and shattered all over. Scientists began to slowly move off from the cat walks that were still suspended in the air.

The glass of the Tank cracked once more, Another Ripple was sent outwards. Still silence filled the area. The tanks blackness within was still cloudy and prevented anyone close enough to peek through to see what was going on within. The lights began to flicker and fade until no one could see where they could escape to. As black as the tank was, light began to shine through like the bright white light of the sun. It became brighter and brighter until it seemed like it wasn't light at all, but pure energy. The pressure of the tank was stressed and the thick glass cracked more and more just as another ripple was sent out. But this time with the ripple traveled a sound that carried an amazingly low thud. Like someone turned on a sub-bass speaker and flipped the volume all the way to the max.

With every ripple and every low bass thud a shaking of the mountain came with it. Like some large creature was walking closer and closer to them... but it was all produced from the tank. Finally the Ripples became closer and closer to each other till it was just one long, loud ripple that shook the entire facility. The light became blindingly bright and the entire tank burst open with immense pressure. The monstrous amount of energy that exploded from the tank sent all sorts of debris flying away from it including all of the water. Its center was too bright for anyone to glance at without the chance of their cornea burning right out of their skulls.

As everything went silent Sarah went frantic. She couldn't find him! Dust! Sarah was screaming out, but nothing was coming, nothing. Again and again she tried to find Dust, those screams of fear coming over her even then. She didn't know where she was, didn't know what was going on. She was afraid, so very afraid. There was nothing, nothing. She couldn't feel his arms around her, couldn't feel his core anywhere. She had screamed again, but still no good. Her fear was building, but even as she tried to look her body wouldn't move. What the hell was going on?! By the gods where was Dust! More and more this was becoming a nightmare.

The light had faded all together into a nice cool white light that was more defused than anything. What could be seen was a male figure completely lit with white light cradling a female form in his arms. The female was glowing as bright a white light as he was. His hair was a white grey and his eyes a bright glowing orange. He gently moved his hand over the soft skin of her cheek and smiled. "Nothing is impossible my love." His voice held an almost evil-angelic tone to it. Like he was Happy to be evil.

The scientist moved debris around and stood to their feet as they looked down to the man. His lit figure was reflecting in most of their eye glasses. A slight warm breeze moved about the innards of the facility. He closed his eyes, moved his head down to her level and kissed her lips... like the kiss of life. Just as their lips had locked to each other small circular disked shaped plates surfaced above the skin of his shoulder blades and spun slowly till they flapped open, Steam puffed out from them.. Followed by thick black oil like substance, much like the black blood that cycled through his body, they arched out from his shoulder blades like fire hoses and slowly came to a halt. The liquid was so thick that it nearly stopped in mid air.

He opened his eyes to reveal those brightly orange hues and disengaged from kissing her... "I love you Sarah." Just as those words flowed freely from his lips, the thick oil substance that came from his shoulder blades had slowly faded from black to grey, to cream, to an almost white color. One of the scientists managed to find the words and let them escape from his mouth..... 'Wings?' Other scientists looked like they were cured from that paralization spell of being amazed at what just happened.

The two people who loved each other were both changing into something else before this event had happened. He was supposed to become Emperor with her at his side. But by code left behind by the generations before him. He would unable to be Imperial core elite until he became Emperor. But by the stars he was able to change beyond an Imperial Core Elite... He had surpassed his brother Ash and ascended into the race of Imperial Core that no one has seen since the beginning of all existence.

The sounds of Scientist could be heard above whispering to each other and throwing out words such as, 'prophecy,' and other such phrases like 'Tin-man' and 'black monsters.' He couldn't believe it himself but it looked as if Both Sarah and he had ascended to a higher level of existence... the highest anyone has ever seen. Not just an Imperial Core... but the race of beings that had created the Imperial Cores.....still a machine but more.

Her hand was over his chest even as they came into view. She wasn't leaving his arms for a while, even when his voice came to her ears and his lips came to her own. She opened her eyes slowly to look into the copper hues before her own. Her eyes weren't really honey colored any more, almost a soft copper like his eyes, but not as dark. Her finger moved to caress his neck and his chin. She was actually trying to understand if the frame holding onto her was real or not.

Seeing the wings folding out on his back she sucked in a breath. Her own wings formed and spanned out like fans of feathers and then sank back in, to rest at her back. They too went through the color change until a soft white contrasted the white of the pair of wings that were so close to her own. She smiled softly and spoke in almost a soft and angelic tone, too much like honey for her own good," I love you Dust." Her movements being the first sign that she had survived where not many thought she would.

She couldn't have done it without Dust by her side. Deep down she knew what he had done, knew what he risked. Her eyes locked on him for the longest time, showing more understanding then should have been there. Even now more than ever she was going to worry about the risks he took. She even wanted to nag at him for doing such a thing, but she didn't. She couldn't. He gave up his life to save her, and she'd do the same to save him. She knew that, he knew that, there was no point in getting angry or fighting about it.

She ignored the murmurs around them and only looked to him. Her core almost beating in sync with his core. She rested her head against his shoulder, letting out a light sigh as she whispered," Is it over?" She didn't feel any different, other than the wings and the sensations of comprehending her surroundings a bit better without moving around. She could tell they had made a mess, but again she was sure that anything that had gone would be fixed in the blink of an eye. That was the way Dust worked and would always work.

He smiled to her as he helped her up from the ground. He held her hand as if it was the first time he held her hand. It was warm to the touch and soft as ever, she looked stunning and just as he began to notice the amazing curves and structure of her body he too was stunned at something else..... His mind shocked for a moment as he thought about the reality of them being naked in front of a large crowd of scientist.

He snickered and shook his head like there was nothing to be ashamed of. The wings began to dissipate into tiny little orange sparkles. His skin was a light tan cream and his hair was back to its original length, falling down to his jaw line. Strands and locks of hair brushed crossed his face as they seemed to move to the side without the aid of his hands. The sparkles from his wings fell onto his body and like something that science couldn't even explain, it formed a perfectly white Core Cell over his body. The kind Ash had worn when he was Emperor. From the back of his right shoulder blade sprung out a crimson red thick silk cloth that draped behind him briefly before moving with the light interior breezes of the facility.

He knew what he had become now and didn't expect it. He knew Ash would be proud of him, but what scared him most were the whispers of the crowd of scientist that observed the entire event. He wasn't sure if what they spoke of was true or not. But he knew the stories all too well, being sung and told to him as a young child. Sunburst Orange eyes looked to Sarah and began to see her wings too were fading.

At first standing seemed almost strange to her. She gained her balance and for a few moments she was clutching to his hand as if it was the only think keeping her from falling on her face. It would not have been a good start. She could feel his eyes soaking her in again just as the night before. A soft pink blush came over her cheeks and she gasped. Staring in awe as his form began to become more noticeable. Each line and detail was more and more breath taking.

She had hardly even noticed she was naked before a group of people she didn't know. Another thing that was possibly good. Due to the fact that she would have quite possibly freaked out and fainted at that very moment. Her brows lifted as she watched his wings glitter away and become his Core Cell. He looked good in white. She smiled to him and brushed a few of her golden strands from her face. More and more her hues of soft orange danced over to him take in the details of his frame and face. He even seemed younger, more filled with light then before.

The golden glimmer that was her wings fading and her own white Core Cell forming caught her a bit off guard. She then noted that she had been naked the entire time. Her face flushed and she looked wide eyed to Dust. Almost half tempted to mouth,' Why didn't you tell me the goods were showing?!' but she didn't. Finally glad to be covered she sighed and squeezed his hand, a soft but reassuring smile form on her lips. Relief taking her over even as the crimson cape draped from her shoulders. Her eyes lifted upwards and nearly crossed as she felt a new weight on her head, small and hardly a bother. She was just curious with any measure. There upon her head was a chain like crown of leaves, no bigger than her pinky nail. She blinked a few times and turned to look to Dust, a bit confused, but also a bit more that she was coming to understand.

Dust smiled as he felt the gentle squeeze of his hand. The other hand had a Black ring placed upon it with silver designs on it in the shape of a flower... the flower. He could hardly believe that without the proper proceedings and courtships... he was announced Emperor by something else... what he didn't know. Whatever it was couldn't be question in a sense. It was nearly all too much but for some reason, he was able to suppress the stresses... or was stressing out even possible for him now?

He seemed and felt like he was light as a feather, his frame felt like even a black hole couldn't scratch him... but he knew everything had a weakness as well as any other being. His data streams seemed to be thinner and smoother unlike before... Gathering and compressing even greater amounts of information from much greater distances than before... he had thought before all of this that it would be troublesome and possibly kill him to have this much information, but it was actually as easy as breathing.

He could feel the pain from cultures that weren't even within known space... but beyond that. He felt as if he knew what everyone was doing at any given moment. He was almost afraid to test this new level of core. But knew that he would never know his potential unless he actually tried it... Sometimes you have to run before you can walk.

He snickered at the thought and then reminded himself that under no circumstance can he abuse this. He would cure himself of his darkened core and shed his evil ways. He knew that he had new responsibilities in his life now that he would have to take care of. The empire, its people... but most importantly... his soon to be bride and soon to be family. He had hoped that the Nano Empire had felt his ripples of his change and feared his power... in hopes that they would leave his empire and people alone.

The soon to be bride of Dust was actually stuck in awe state. Her left shoulder soon had the Aya flower in full bloom as if engraved in the White Cell. She sucked in a deep breath and sighed happily. She was so glad to see that her to be husband was alright. Smiling to him softly she looked about at all the faces of awe and baffle. Her figure leaned into his and she whispered softly," I know you might have plenty of questions to answer, but after all this I'm rather tired." She gave a sheepish smile to him. Her eyes were even heavy.

She knew sooner or later, the need and the usual want for sleep and food with dwindle, but for now she'd enjoy it while she could. Her voice came once more," Can we go home and leave all questions to be answered tomorrow My Love?" It wouldn't be hard for Dust to cure himself of his evil ways. All he had to remember was who he'd wake and fall asleep with each and every day. She squeezed his hand once more and pressed a loving kiss to his cheek.

Sighing happily and stepping closer to him so she could wrap her arm about his torso. Her head rested at his shoulder and she closed her eyes for a moment. She just took in his warmth and smiled. Knowing now that everything was alright and the doors to a new future, a family, and the happiness both of them wanted were opening to greet them with every passing moment.

He looked to her and returned that smile. He was feeling extremely exhausted after what had just happened but couldn't help but stay awake a little bit longer to enjoy this moment. He was born an Imperial Core and didn't know what it was like to change other than the occasional upgrade.

He looked about the facility. The ruin and damage he had caused unintentionally. He didn't have to close his eyes, but only imagined the facility to be as it originally was. Before his eyes like the flick of a light switch, the place bore down to what it once was before. Everything was back to its original form without anyone noticing too quickly. The lights were on and the tanks were restored. The scientist clothes were all clean and debris free.

He just stood there with his love and held her close. He didn't try to restore everything. He just thought about the mess and that he would eventually have to fix it. He had just imagined what it looked like before and like a reflex it happened. He grinned at this becoming. And soon he thought about something else... that warm bed of silk and furs. He could see it in his mind as clear as day. The lights dimmed down and the fire place crackling as it ate away at some fresh logs. He was enjoying the feeling the warmth and softness of his wife's skin cuddled up close to him as they drifted off to sleep.

The imagery was all there and like clockwork, a second passed and they were physically there without having to walk through check points of going in lifts, or even the front gates... They were already there holding each other close. He enjoyed moments like these but at the same time a thought nestled in the back of his mind. He didn't like beings that were god like... acting like gods and using their ability's like selfish gods... He figured from now on he would walk unless he absolutely needed to travel like that again. He snickered and looked to his soon to be wife and smiled, kissing her soft lips before they drifted away.
