It had been a few days since they had gotten back to their small house. With Lang spending time with Hera or off in his blacksmith shop. At the moment, he was leaning on the door frame to the bedroom. Smirking as he caught Hera knitting..which was rather odd for the woman.

She was trying to knit. Shay had shown her how. It seemed afitting past time for Hera now that she wasnt going in to Rhydn for her nightly hunts. Her brows rose as she sensed him there. She peered at him and showed him her so not scarf.

" Hera Darkwing.. The big bad half elven woman.. knitting. " He shook his head softly. " If only Jade could see you now...She'd be laughing her butt off. " Then a glance to her scarf. " Not bad for your first time. "

She grinned at him saying her name. "Shay tried to show me.I am not very good at it.But it gives me something to do."She eyed her beloved weapons hanging on the far wall.Till the day she could hold them again. "Jade would end up with a knitting needle in her butt."

He laughed to that. " That would be a sight to see.. " Then followed her glance to her weapons. " They are going to rust before you get to use them again. " Teasing her, before leaning off the door frame.

She shook her head at him. "They are of elven make, they will never rust. And your the one who didnt want me running off fighting bad guys."She rose when he moved. "Besides I like being around all the time.I can watch you work."

He smirked to that. " Because I know how you fight.. You fight like a wild woman, without a reguard if you get hurt.. " Shaking a finger at her as he moved towards her slowly.

She smirked to him and nodded. "Yes,I dont want getting hurt.I wouldnt risk it. Why do you think I asked Jade and V to run patrols for me? Besides."She smirked at him ,"When i stay here I can watch you work in the forge and get all sweaty."

" Like that do you? Watching me all shirtless.. working up a sweat on a sword, axe or spear.. Rather than working one up with you? " Winking at her.

She snickered at him. "I like both.And when your all working so hard, it makes me recall why I married you."She winked back. "And we cant work up
a sweat , you never want to."She passed around him and hip nudged him.

He hip nudged her back. " I'm usually making myself usefull. All you wanna do is be waitted on. " Giving her rear a swat.

She smirked at the swat and at his comment. "I am your lovely loving wife, whos carrying your child, you should wait on me now and again.Its not like I am asking you to walka round serving me food in the nude...hmm"she eyed him. "But I could."

He smirked to that. " True.. and I do get you things when you do ask.. You just prefer to do things on your own. " NOw sitting in the chair she was in a moment ago

She nodded. "I am not soo pampered as those other women.I am tough and I like doing things for myself."She walked off kitchen bound. "And you always do as I ask."She made kissy faces at him as she came abck with a bowl of mixed cut up fruit. "Radella sent word that she'll drop by tomorrow. I am assming shes busy today with her cute young lover boy."

He chuckled softly to that. " You act tough.. but you are really a push over. " Motiong her over to him as he was in his human form at the moment.. As he spent half is time in human and hlaf in his demon form.

She smirked at him as she ate and padded back over to him. "I am not a push over."She put a grape in his open mouth. "I am a tough fire child,and you love and adore me." She sat then in his lap.

He munched on the grape. " You are a push over with me. " Grining as she slipped into his lap, then moved his arms around her. " Besides.. I am more..relaxed around you. "

She nodded at that and offered him a strawberrie. "Only with you.And yes I know your always so content and relaxed around me." She sat there eatting offering him some now and again. "I hope for your sake this child is a boy, other wise you'll have two fiery females."

He chuckled softly as he took those offered bites of fruit.. " Agreed... I need some back up around here.. More so when you invite Jade and Vanessa over.. "

She snickered. "We love to tag team nag and torment our men. And we love to torment Shea."A grin as they finished that small snack. She leaned in to him. "I think it will be a boy.. he will be just like his father, a bad boy."She grinned. "Winning the hearts of every young lass."

He chuckled softly. " Nope.. he's going to be a gentleman.. Making all the girls swoon at how proper he acts around them. " Winking at her. " Just picture it if he gets one of Jade's daughters to fall for him.. "

She grinned to that, "Oh how I would love that. Maybe then she will stop saying she had you first.And I will win."She grinned more. "I would love to see him a gent, hmm girls will still swoon over him like they do over you."

That got him to grin more. " Still jealous over that huh? " Giving her side a poke. " You did win.. You are the one that married me..and shares a bed with me. "

She smiled to both those things. "Yes, and I am not jealous, she just loves to bring it up.I know I won, Id just would love to win a bit more."

He chuckled softly to that. " You are still jealous. " Stealing a kiss to her cheek. " And just think if one of those girls turns out like her.. and falls madly in love with our son. "

She smiled to that idea. "I would love that.Her girls are fine young ones now,and I am sure one will be like her in more ways than the other. And if she makes him happy that is good."She stole a kiss. "I do see what she brags about though, youd think shed be content with Darkmere to drape herself about."

He shook his head lightly. " You would so toss that in her face. One of her girls pinning for our son.. Trying to win him over. "

She grinned and nodded. "Perhaps I wil get the chance."She leaned in more to him. "If the day comes I will be happy to see our child happy. And rub it in Jades face a little."

He chuckled softly. " I'll have to teach him how to be sly and keep her guessing then... just to give you a chance to torment Jade. "

She snikered to that. "Have him work in the forge, that will keep any girl coming. He will likely be skilled with it, fire will run in his veins.."She grinned and rocked back up to sit up on his lap. She stole another kiss then went to rise.

He kissed her back, but pulled her back into his lap. " Very well.. I'll teach him all my secrets of the forge. "

She grinned as he tugged her back to his lap. "Good, now let me up I am still hungry."She pressed her fingers along his jaw line and gave hima soft pusle of fire. "Unless ye intend to strip nude and serve me food."

Lang smirked to the comment about their son, as he already knew he would be more powerfull than he was. He bowed his head politely to Radella, as her and her brooding vampire headed off. He then looked to Hera, so knowing that look she was giving him.

Daring him to quack at her, and she knew that it was dangerous to dare him. Even if the dare was unspoken, his smirk changed to the sweetest smile he could offer to her. "Quack quack, my dear little ducky." So glad he was just out of her swinging range.

He grinned to her threat, before he bolted for the door. Luckly the pillow missed his head, but it smacked him in the back. Knowing she wouldn't stand for him quacking at her, which he was doing over his shoulder. Trying to dodge those fire balls Hera was slinging at him.


A quick smile to Radella as he flew by her. "Come on ducky.. See if you can catch the demon! And stop waddling!" Called over his shoulder to Hera, smirking the whole time as he was headed for the lake that was close to the house.

Kraven chuckled to hearing Radella, as he watched the two a moment. "What do you expect? From what I have seen from those two.. They wouldn't rest even if they had been battered and bruised. You'd have to tie them down, and I doubt that would work." He was probably right on that.

Lang smirked as he sent his own balls of water to slam into her balls of fire. "You know I'm not the begging type, love! And you do waddle.. most of the time!" Yeah..The demon was going to have a riled up pregnate Hera to deal with..When she caught him.

Kraven shook his head slightly as he turned to head back, with a smirk over his shoulder to Radella and the way she was looking at him. "You'd break a hip with me if those thoughts in your mind play out. So be a good little girl, and stop picturing me with nothing on." Winking at her as he knew that would get her to stalk after him, leaving the two lovebirds to fend for themselves.

She'd have to catch him first as he weaved his way back to the house, slamming the front door shut behind him and locking it. Then darted to plop down in a chair, allowing him to catch his breath.

Oh he knew it would take more than a door to keep her from getting to him, but it would slow her down enough to allow him to catch his breath. A slow grin crossed his lips to the moment he felt his hands sliding down his shoulders. A slow glance up to her, as he smiled sweetly and innocently.

"You should be resting instead of running around. Now be a good little pregante woman, and sit down and rest." Reaching up to tap her nose lightly, before leaning up to nip at her chin.

He chuckled softly as he moved his arms around her, before smirking slowly to her last words. Hera knew better than to dare him not to do anything. "That so huh?" Now leaning to her ear, and started to purr quacks into that ear. All the while rubbing his hands along her sides and back.

She couldnt believe the day had come. It felt like just yesterday when she found out the news.

Radella smiled to her. "How are you feeling dear?" Jade,Shea and Salice were in the room as well thier little cottage full of friends and family. Lang sat beside her holding her hand. "I am alright."Hera lied, it was painful.

"Just breathe." Lang reminded her. She smirked at him, "you breathe." He chuckled.

"He's amazing." Lang rocked his son in his arms. Hera grinned at him sleepily. "Yes he is, he looks like you." Lang grinned, "He has your firey hair though." She nodded nuzzling the bed. Everyone hadleft hours ago after they all celebrated the birth of Kane.

"Rest love."Lang kissed her forehead. " It was a long birth." Hera nodded and looked to their son. SO much of is father in him.

She closed her eyes and knew everyting was perfect.

Hera looked up as she rested Kane on her knee. She had settled it seemed in to the idea of being a mother. It sk some pratcie for ehr to ake up in the middle of the night. Not that Lang was any better at that. But she was getting used to it. Everyone said she would get sued to it. Jade most of all. "It takes time." Was the lupines constant reminder when Hera felt tired and unsure.

Now she looke dup at Lang in the doorway watching her. She fought the urge to narrow her gaze at him, as if he hadnt been supposed to see her there being motherly. But it was far to late for that, she had been playing with their son, bouncing him lightly to clam him while humming a tune.A song her mother once sang.It amazed Hera even more that she recalled every word of that song even now as she cut the humming short.

"I can be sweet and tender."She winked at him. Then turned their son to face him, the baby was giggling. "Who could reist this face."

Hera sat back rocking Kane as Lang sang and played for them both. That he had not done in some time gotten down that old guitar. Hera had seen him play once or twice maybe. But this was specail she leaned back and listend Kane would be a heart breaker. A

nd with Lang teaching him all his tricks hed be a rogue too. Hera grinned to the idea of that. She was a rogue herself in her day. The song was soft and sweet one Hera had never heard before but it put Kane to sleep.


Hera laid the baby down and snuck out of the room. Tugging the grinning Lang along with her. She kissed him softly on the cheek for the song. "Amin mela lle"She whispered the leven words in his ear before heading off to find something to munch on.

She smiled to him as he made them lunch. She looked abck to their son resting soundly.He would be just like Lang, but he would have parts of ehr too. A dangerous combo for the young ladies of the lands. She chuckled to herself softly as she watched Lang cook. She slipped up behind him and took a taste of what he was making. She nodded to him before he ladeld out two bowls full of pasta with sause.

She ate beside him smirking now and again. She felt well fed and well rested.She pushed the bowls back when they were empty and climbed on to his lap. "I have a favor to ask." She ran her hands through his hair, what ever could Hera want?

"I want you to help me get back in shape, once Kane is ready to go on the bottle and off."She looked down then back up to him. "I'll need to be back in my sleek shape. " She only gained a little bit, enough to have such a healthy boy, but shed lost her abs and felt sorta unsexy. Jade would have a field day with that.


"Not right away, but as soon as Kane is ready... "She didnt want to rush thing. " I dont want to be retired for ever. "She looked tot he wall where her beloved double blades hung along with her long bow. She looked back to Lang now,w aiting for him to shake his head at her. Hed quacked at her a few times during this whole thing as had some of the others.. Darkmere who she palnned to kick around a bit once she was sleek again

She punched him in the arm.And she didnt hold back. " Hows that for still having it. Yes, I am jealous, Jade and Shea both looked wonderful not long after having children. " She punched him again. Then shook her head.

"Lang Darkwing your a bad bad demon." She wiggled her nose a little. Then kissed his cheek back, "thank you... and I never waddled."

She glared at him as he went but didnt follow.Shed punch him later. She shook ehr ehad and called back at him. "You like those bed room work outs as much as I do." She saw him mouthing duck sounds at her and her eyes flared a little. Oh shed show him.

She rose out of the chair and let him go to Kane. She walked to the living room and eyed her self in the window. "Cheaters."She muttered.Shea and Jade both had many powers. Out of the Two Jade looked the best.Hera blamed the Alcar magic. She fiddled with her hair a bit. She would work hard soon enough. First she had to get Kane on to bottle feeding.

She saw Lang come in to view Kane in his arms. For a demon he made a great parent.

Hera smirked. Before taking Kane in her arms. "Hello handsome."

She cooed to her son. She looked back to Lang again. "Hes gonna break many hearts just like you." She stood there with Kane in ehr arms and Lang behind her.

She smiled to his words. "Yes you say that now.. " She leaned back and ksised his cheek. "I'll kick you around for that, as soon as I am able. But now.. lets get you some lunch."She cooed to Kane. She gave Lang another kiss,this time a quick one to he lips before wandering to the kitchen. She was going to try to get Kane on to bottle feeding.

She snickered as she sat down at the kitchen table and started to feed Kane. He seemed tos ense her need and took the bottle. She made a face at him . " Only at the end. "She smirked at him. "And you love our training sessions." She continued to feed Kane. She would show him. "He may end up being a gentlemen, but who would he get that trait from?" She poked fun at him now.Lang could be a gentlemen if he truly tried.

She finished feeding Kane and rose to her feet. "In two weeks time we will we start.And I will show you Lang Darkwing." She handed Kane over to him softly. "Now go with daddy and take a bath." She kissed Kanes forhead and Lamgs too.

"I heard that."

She called in after him when he went to go give Kane a bath. She snickered knowing hed let Kane play before really bathing him. She leaned in the doorway when he laid Kane down. He was out like a light and she wandered in to the living room. Where Lang would find her.

"I savor every moment. His first steps, his first words. Yes, hmm but he will be a good man, and he will win over many hearts.. young love..." She winked to him. "Lifes not worth living with out getting in to trouble. You know that. "She reached for him and tugged him close. "Part elf partd emon, part rogue part gentlemen.. the women , and girls will swoon over him."Said so proudly.

Hera could hear him from where she sat she didnt need to move. She didnt know the song. But it was nice. Likely would lull Kane back to sleep. Her demon had a way with words and that guitar. She sat there with her eyes closed. She had no muscial talent if Kane got any at all it would be from Lang. Oh she coudl see him now, sucha mix of both of them.A fiery temper maybe like her, hopefully Langs build. maybe ehr eyes. At the moment they were soft grey. And his hair was too light to tellw hat color it would be. Hed be a skilled fighter, good with fire most likely. Hed have Langs demon side, and her elven ears. Hed be a wonderful smith seeing as both she and Lang forged their own tools. He grow up, have girls fall for him.

Break some hearts. She wondered what kind of wman he would meet that would steal his ehart. Oh sue he might act like a rogue, or a gentelmen and shed swoon over him. But in the end theyd have a love, a good strong love.

She opened her eyes and starred across the room at her hung blades and bow. She was a warrior through and through. But now it was diluted with being a mother. She coudl see how Jade and Shea had given up Rhydin for their children.Both had gone back over time, but neither one was the same.

She ran her fingers through her hair. What wothink of her now, her brother? Had she washed away the blood of her past from her hands? She would never forget her past , nor what brought her here. Nor theman that made her break down and open up. She looked towards Kanes room where Lang still was.

If she did return to the fight, she would be more careful for Kanes sake. Shed never cared much if she lived or died. Not until she had him. No she would never put a child through what she went through. True she had been odler when her parents had been killed. But it had gone deep in to her heart. Shed never let that happen to Kane. She knew Lang felt the same way, hed slowed down a little. She rose slwoly and walked towards the bedroomd oor and as Lang walked out she stopped him her hand on his chest. Then she leaned up and kissed him deeply, with passion and that little flare of fire magic.

She sat there in their bedroom.Her eyes staye don his as he sang to ehr now. Hera wasnt one to cry often.In pain or in joy. She had on their wedding day, and the day Kane was born cried in joy.And as he finished she wipped a tear from her cheek and stood and hugged him tightly.She couldnt sing,nor play an instrument she could only show him how much she loved him.That those words she understood were just for her.. and that she felt the same way.

She nuzzled her nsoe in to his neck and gave hima kiss there then butterfly kisses along his jaw line to his lips. She looked in to his eyes again then. "I hope he gets your talent for music..."She winked at him then. She took his hands in hers and stayed there standing close to him. "Hmm I love this side of you. Soft and gentle, and so loving."She let a little flare of fire magic go through her hands to his. "I cant sing, but if I could Id find the perfect song to sing to you about how much I adore you.. and our son. And this life we have." She was looking right in to his eyes, she meant every word.

She smacked him just after he stole that kiss. "Mean." She stuck out her tounge, all elves could sing a little.But she was more suited for sword play than melodys. Her eyes narrowed at im just after he bolted and she wa sup and after him in the next breath. "Come back here... and I'll show you fighting shape"

"I am not slow."Shed lost some of her speed,but none of her grace as she cut corners quickly.But as he darted in to the trees she lost sight of him. The snow made it harder to sniff him out then she got pegged in the butt with a fireball. She shot a lokk at him the chased him on shooting a little sizzlign fire ball at him that would tickle more than burn. "Playing with fire huh, I can do that too!"

Lang would be inside, feeding and putting Kane to bed before he move to find his wife. Pausing as he spotted her outside, before movig to the door to slip outside. Watching her from the porch, before smirking as he caught the wince.

"My my.. The fire child has been tamed and has gotten soft." Calling from the porch as he took a lean on the porch railing. Knowing she would glare daggers at him, but ready incase she chose to throw one at him instead.

Hera Darkwing, once Hera Fyre of the mighty Haloisi Akh'Velahr , took her bow Morthond and its matching quiver down.She looked to her twin blades. It was not their time yet. With Kane sleeping aftera long day or crawling about,eatting, and playing she had time to practice in the dead of night.

Dressed in dark tones of ash grey and black she padded outside bare foot. The cold did not bother one with fire in their veins such as she. She eyed the targets far from the house along the open field. Long ago she could have hit them blid folded but now she tooka breath notched and arrow and pulled it back.

She watched its corse as it flew knocking in tot he target but far from center. Some where rotting in hell her old masters were laughing at her. Once a powerful assassin, one who would never miss. Now shed gotten soft, tame. Lang had said it himself.

Long ago she could have gone toe to toe with her demon husband and beat him fairly.But now he could mop the floor with her. She notched another arrow and let fly. Knwoing Langw atched from the doorway. Shed seen it open, at least her senses werent off that much.

Agains he fired each arrow a little closer to center than the one before. She closed her eyes recalling old elssons elarned by old masters long dead. And elssons shed taught herself through long years. Again the arrow flew this time hitting the mark.

Lang might taunt her now, for being so slack. She felt him come behind her place his hands on her shoulders. His touch was soothing. "Your right.. I have gotten soft."

She eased a little when his has met her shoulders. She then eased more as his fingers brushed her cheek. She lowered her beloved long bow and starred in to his eyes. She leaned in to his hand as it came to rest upon her neck .She even blushed Hera blushed.

"I am happy my dearest love."She let her bow rest to the ground and lited her hands to cup his face. " I am not hell bent on going and fighting, but I feel.. well.. out of shape, and unsexy. "She admitted she happened to be surrounded by women, none of the fully human but still, women who were powerful and beautiful, none had issues with the baby buldge, they all had magical help, or really worked it off. She returned that kiss. "I am not doing this so I can go running back to fight some god forsaken fight in Rhydin."No shed given that up, as they all had, Rhydin would live or die with out their help.Yes shed go there to help friends, family if need be but not for any other reason.. myabe a coffee, or to hang at the inn.. but not to fight.

" We've settled down togetehr, but your still hot."She eyed him, "and you can still take anyone one on, right now I couldnt go toe to toe with anyone.. I'd like to have my bragging rights back." She kissed him again. She was very happy wtht he life they had, she just wnated to be a sexy, kick ass elfess again.

She shot him a dark look. "The children huh?" As he poked her she gave hima hard smack to the rear.

"Old?" Her brows perked. "Who are you calling old?" She gave him that dangerous look. "I've hit you before." A wink as she watche dhim and took up her defenive stance. "I'll even let you take the first shot, before I kick your butt."

Lang came out throught the back door in time to hear Jade's question. "No more for a while, we hope. Having to retrain Hera is becoming more work than fun. She won't accept the conditons when she loses." Smirking like the demon that he is, as he plopped down by the two.

Now watching the three childern as they tried to walk. "The kids remind me of you two when you were with child." HE knew he was out gunned here. One man to two women. Not good odds for him to be picking on them.

The demon smirked at the two of the for a moment, before looking back towards the childern. "Hera.. you know that wouldn't help you." Winking at her and Jade, perhaps telling Jade about Hera's naughty side with that comment. As he couldn't really say more with the childern being there. He's not that rotten.

"As for the bruises.. Hera would enjoy kissing them all better." Devilish smirk at the two as he hugged both Azura and Kane, when they climed into his lap. With a ruffle to Azura's hair. "Another thing.. I plan on teaching my son all my good boy ways.. Just so he can flirt with your daughters..and possiby woo one of them." Smirking at Jade now..

Another ball. Hera snickered as she packed what she would need to wear and what Kane would need. A little magic and it would all be waiting for her at GreenStone Castle. She didnt ask Lang what he might pack, if he was to pack at all. She knew why Salice was doing this, everyone needed a little pick me up.There was to eb a ball, something Hera figured tot ake the place of a ball being held in Rhydin. It was Beltane after all. Hera,V and Jade coudlnt go.Shea had sworn to stay away from Rhydin for as long as she could. So Salice was going to out shine the Rhydin ball.

Hera snickered as she could hear Lang gumbling to his son about having to dress up for bloody balls. Maybe one day when Kane wa solder hed understand. But maybe then hed like them,perhpas witht he aid of a lovely woman. Hera grinned, shed gotten mostly back in to shape, working out and working hard. Sweating off the baby weight and toning tight thick muscles. She felt good enough to pack her finer woredrobe choices. The things, hers and Kanes were sent off witha little flicker fo magic. Hera already knew where they would be when they got to GreenStone.

"You can gumble at Salice when we get there lover." She smirked as she peeked her head in at him. "Or just wear a tie and a mask to her ball and nothing more." A wink. Was she joking.. maybe.Or maybe not.

She was smiling then smriking at him.Then blinked at the hush you and watched him go to change. He did look dashing in that suit. She had stayed in her dress for a while longer than she normally would have, having only changed when Lang went to bathe Kane.

She now wore more relaxed clothes, grey pants and a black tank her feet bare, she padded over to him when he flopped in to the chair by the window. Her hands rose over his shoudler sending soft pusles of heat in to him. " He is a spit fire, I can see him having some wild teen age years." She rubbed at Langs shoulders looking out the window. Her mind a million miles away.

Her brows perked. "I dont know. I felt something.Or feel something when I look outside."She shook her head as if to shake it off. "When Kane becomes a smooth talker, I'll know who he got it from." She smiled.

Then glanced back out the window,it was an odd feeling,that went through her.Then that alliance necklace about her neck stared to glow, the gem of Greenstone glowing brightly, then the gem of Crendia. The gems of Sim'tahl and Nosgoth were not glowing yet. "Seems something is going on."

She gave his rear a little smack. Then starred out the window with him. She was trying to get a sense on what was going on as well. When a roll of thunder and a crack of lighting shook the cottage. Hera moved form the window to check on the sleeping Kane. The sounds had not made him cry out for her, but she knew he was awake.

She reached down in to the crib and pulled him out, then shut the curtains as rain started to fall. Kane wrapped his little fingers around the allaince necklace as the gems of Nosgoth and GreenStone started to glow.

She padded out and looked to Lang who still stood at the window. Hera walked over to him. "Look whos awake and not even scared of the thunder." Kane held on to Hera his fingers still wrapped around that pendant.

"You both ened to come to the castle." The voice scared Hera, it was hard to sneak up on her. Shea stood dressed in a her heavier white winter cloak.The hood up still. "Get dressed,and prepared take you there when you are ready." When she said prepared Hera saw the cloak flicker and the glint of a sword at Sheas side. The mage had not wore her sword in ages. Hera didnt ask questions she took Kane with ehr as she went to go get dressed.

When the Fire child was out of the room. Shea lowered that hood. There were new streaks of silver through her dark blue hair. Her eyes were pure silver. "The alliance is meeting.In full. " Even Vanessa and Rune were going to be there even though V was supposed to be on bed rest. Her eyes settled on Lang. "The children are being kept in the downstairs study in Nosgoth. Tala and Alces, are guarding them. " Jade had called in her uncle and now aunt tow atch the children, something big was going down.

Shea eyed him. "The wind is fast , but will not harm you. Tis no different than travling Darkmeres way." And the wind took them all. There would be no danger to any of them.

They would arrive at the castle in Nosgoth outside the study. Alces wolf stood at the door,a heavy war axe was across his back. He bowed to Shea as the mage appeared with three more guests.

Hera shook her head. She had never traveled Sheas way. Kane was unharmed and sleeping again. The fire child took him in tot he make shift nursey.

Tala stood just ebyond the door. The windows were clsoed and so barried with magic Hera could feel it.
