Set in the heart of Old Temple, the community is small and insular with many of its occupants both living and working within the high walls of the neighborhood. The centerpiece of Jeshurun is the Jeshurun B'nai Temple complex which serves as a community center of sorts for the predominantly Jewish occupants of the area. Coincidentally, many of the businesses and homes around the temple seemed to pop up all at the same time in the fall of 2015 with the area being gated off shortly after.
That's not to say Jeshurun is exclusive. In fact, many people cross through the north and south gates on a daily basis, with the businesses inside catering not only to the neighborhood but plenty of the city at large as well. Among them are several restaurants, a grocery store, a pet shop, a fashion design and modeling firm, and a rather prosperous community bank.
