Lydia gazed out the window, sighing as she watched the rain fall outside. Bored and waiting in her room at the inn... she'd furrow her brows then.
What was she waiting for?
She canted her head somewhat as she gazed up, still watching the rain outside. She thought hard, trying to remember what she was doing here, what she was waiting for... but nothing was coming to her. Not just that even... absolutely nothing was coming to her. Pale eyes lowered as her brows furrowed. Gaze trailed along the edges of the window absently, then brows furrowed even more.
It was sealed shut.
Lydia reached up to pull on the window, but it wouldn't give. She searched for the latches it normally held, but they were gone. It was... odd to say the least. Withdrawing her hands, she stepped back from the window, studying it intently.
Smoke...
Faint, but the scent was there. Only then did she see the flicker of orange dancing in the reflection of the window. Hesitantly she turned around, brilliant flames immediately catching her attention. A flicker here, a flicker there... just little fires scattered throughout her room... all growing and spreading more rapidly than normal.
She'd not panic just yet though.
Lydia took a brief, sharp intake of breath before rushing towards the door, hand going out for the knob of course. She just had to get out, that's all... that's all. Her wrist twisted and twisted and her arm pulled and pulled. No use though... the knob wouldn't budge. She continued to pull and turn at the knob as her other hand shot up to pound on the door as hard as she could. She could feel the panic start to rise within.
"Is someone out there!?" Her environment became all too warm as both hands moved to pound on the door vehemently. "Someone? Anyone! Can you hear me!? I need help!" Still pounding on the door, she turned to cast a quick glance over her shoulder. Orange, yellow, red... even flickers of silvery blue, it was almost blinding. Pale eyes narrowed somewhat as she turned away from it rather quickly, pounding on the door even harder as she felt the flames become dangerously hot. "Gods.. don't leave me in here! Help me!! ..Erin!? Grem!? Can you hear me? Don't.. leave me in here..."
Her eyes burned with tears as the pounding on the door slowly faded, and fingernails dug into the wood, dragging as she sank to the ground. She turned, pressing against the wall as hard as she could, a futile effort to distance herself from the fire that still approached...
"No.. please don't.. someone.."
Lydia shivered before a few shuddering sobs overcame her. Her head lowered as she cringed and pulled away from the fire... little good though, as fiery tendrils snaked from it, surrounding her from every direction. Without warning they all shot at her, grabbing and pulling...
She screamed.
