Sapphire swirled marble floors. Crystalline walls. Mirrors everywhere.

They'd all shatter, shards would sparkle in sunlight shining in from above. How did the sunlight make it inside?

One mirror left, she reached out, and reflections within reached out for her, beckoning...hands...

Hands tightened around her throat until she could breathe no more.

It sounded like scratching, scraping... the sound it made against the window was unbearable almost.

Tap...tap...tap.

Crash!

It crawled inside. It didn't belong there.

She could only watch.

"Things are going well for you?"

"Is...is that..you?"

"Who else would it be?"

"..but..gods..you.."

"It won't last. None of it. Does it ever? Hm?"

"What are you.."

"You're living in a fantasy, delusions, dreams... one day you'll wake up... you'll see it's a lie."

"That's not true."

"Oh, yes, because you say that? No no, you should know more than anyone Lydia, that all of this? It's temporary."

"No, things are different, I'm different... I've finally... I.. life is different now."

"Is it really?"

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Hm. Your life isn't different, it's just the elements that are different. Like that Erin girl..."

"..what about her..?"

"She's only a replacement for me...no?"

"That..that's not true!"

"And Grem? He's only there to replace...well, he's a second replacement isn't he?"

"...no."

"Now you just need a new mommy and daddy, no? Well... no mommy since she didn't fit into your dream, just a daddy, right?"

"...stop it."

"So easily replaced.. it hurts me."

"Shut up!"

"You gonna kill her too?"

"No!"

"You're capable of it... you can't deny that... remember what you did to me?"

"I.. you made me!"

"I didn't make you do a thing little sister."

"You're dead... go away."

"Why should I?"

"Go away!!"

"I'll always be with you...dear little sister."

Lydia gazed out the window, sighing as she watched the rain fall outside. Bored and waiting in her room at the inn... she'd furrow her brows then.

What was she waiting for?

She canted her head somewhat as she gazed up, still watching the rain outside. She thought hard, trying to remember what she was doing here, what she was waiting for... but nothing was coming to her. Not just that even... absolutely nothing was coming to her. Pale eyes lowered as her brows furrowed. Gaze trailed along the edges of the window absently, then brows furrowed even more.

It was sealed shut.

Lydia reached up to pull on the window, but it wouldn't give. She searched for the latches it normally held, but they were gone. It was... odd to say the least. Withdrawing her hands, she stepped back from the window, studying it intently.

Smoke...

Faint, but the scent was there. Only then did she see the flicker of orange dancing in the reflection of the window. Hesitantly she turned around, brilliant flames immediately catching her attention. A flicker here, a flicker there... just little fires scattered throughout her room... all growing and spreading more rapidly than normal.

She'd not panic just yet though.

Lydia took a brief, sharp intake of breath before rushing towards the door, hand going out for the knob of course. She just had to get out, that's all... that's all. Her wrist twisted and twisted and her arm pulled and pulled. No use though... the knob wouldn't budge. She continued to pull and turn at the knob as her other hand shot up to pound on the door as hard as she could. She could feel the panic start to rise within.

"Is someone out there!?" Her environment became all too warm as both hands moved to pound on the door vehemently. "Someone? Anyone! Can you hear me!? I need help!" Still pounding on the door, she turned to cast a quick glance over her shoulder. Orange, yellow, red... even flickers of silvery blue, it was almost blinding. Pale eyes narrowed somewhat as she turned away from it rather quickly, pounding on the door even harder as she felt the flames become dangerously hot. "Gods.. don't leave me in here! Help me!! ..Erin!? Grem!? Can you hear me? Don't.. leave me in here..."

Her eyes burned with tears as the pounding on the door slowly faded, and fingernails dug into the wood, dragging as she sank to the ground. She turned, pressing against the wall as hard as she could, a futile effort to distance herself from the fire that still approached...

"No.. please don't.. someone.."

Lydia shivered before a few shuddering sobs overcame her. Her head lowered as she cringed and pulled away from the fire... little good though, as fiery tendrils snaked from it, surrounding her from every direction. Without warning they all shot at her, grabbing and pulling...

She screamed.

Erin. Sebastian.

They stood there in the darkness, illuminated by nothing more than the pale reddish glows of the warm, yet not hot fire encircling them, though they didn't seem to be alarmed by the fact they were trapped within the circle of flames. In fact...

They seemed pretty happy.

Quite happy actually.
