Ivy Forester

Ivy had been staying in her dingy apartment too long. It was small and crowded, with another family and screaming babies at every hour of the night.... it was no place for a date. And she had plenty of those lately!

With a giggle she led the blond elf up the path towards Erin's cottage. It hadn't really been in use since the small mad englishwoman moved herself and her friends back to the Manor. Something about the ballroom... The cottage itself was nice enough. A small kitchen, living room and stairs that led up to a couple of bedrooms. It was cozy, and decorated in Americana.

The porch was white and had a rail. Ivy was practically dragging Calis up the porch steps as they approached the cottage.

"So, they said we could stay here the weekend. And there are two rooms, and the river in the back, and a nice kitchen...." Ivy was sounding more like Erin than Ivy, something that was getting more and more common the more she fell for Calis. She pulled open the door once they were on the porch and he passed by her and into the cottage.

"Wow, it's nice in here. Homey." And he sent a sweet smile back at the plain Englishwoman.

An entire weekend would be hard for him, but he knew it was the last stage of a plan he was compelled to execute. He had people to answer to, and this was the only way to do it... as the thin, plain englishwoman pulled open the door, he leveled an easy smile at her, following a step or two behind.

"So, they said we could stay here the weekend. And there are two rooms, and the river in the back, and a nice kitchen...." He noticed that she was more open. Louder. It gave him hope that he could change this human woman with so little effort. Perhaps he could get to Lydia. Talk her into it... he passed into the house when she opened the door and looked around.

It took everything in him not to cringe. Everything was... faded. Dingy. It was an old vacation home, and it smelled and behaved like it. It was nothing like what he was used to, even here in Rhydin. The sweet smile he sent back at Ivy was all but forced.

"Wow, it's nice in here. Homey." He couldn't help but add the last part. It would go over her head, and was the quiet sarcasm he was used to. The bookshelf caught his eye and he moved that way, walking past the small hall and into the living room. The bag he was carrying was put on a somewhat dusty couch. "Erin, you said this place belongs to? She's a nice girl..." And one of only two people he expected strong resistance from. The other being that strange eyed man that seemed to be with Lydia.

Too much love in this place. All the women went crazy for it. He sighed a little.

Pulling a book off the shelf, he opened it and flipped through. Notre Damus. Someone that he could relate to. He also had a book of prophecy to follow. Things to deliver. The book was closed and he turned to see Ivy locking the door.

"Come here, hun, you have to see this tea set."

Later that very weekend, Calis and Ivy were sitting on the beach in adirondack chairs that Erin had found one day while browsing through the market. They were tall, and the two lovebirds looked small as they were lounged back in them. Ivy had a book on her lap, reading glasses, similar to Erin's, perched on her nose. She was smiling vaguely, just generally happy the past few days. The sundress she had decided to wear was white, and a bit more form fitting than usual. It brought out her grace and poise much better than anything else she had been wearing that weekend. Sliding her glasses off and folding them in her lap she turned to Calis, who seemed to just be sitting there in the sun, eyes closed.

Darling, are you all-right?

Just fine, dear. Thinking. He opened his eyes and turned them to her in a reassuring gesture. She nodded and reached for her glasses before tilting her head to speak again.

You've been quiet all weekend. Reserved. Is there something that's on your mind? And in fact there was. He wasn't sure just what to do next. How to make this plan he had concocted in his head work. The befriending off Ivy, the following of Erin, the uneasy friendliness with Lydia-- where was it all leading? Calis let out a small sigh and shook his head for Ivy.

All's fine, m'dear. That was all the reassuring she needed, and Ivy smiled broadly.

I do love that you are so contemplative. Quiet. and there was an awkward silence as she turned a little red and fidgeted in her seat. It was clear there was more coming from her, but unclear just what it was she had to say that suddenly sapped all the confidence from her. Calis, I think I love you.

Oh.

The elf cringed inwardly. Then outwardly. Now what? He couldn't pretend to be in love... not when there was only one person he truely did love. He couldn't kiss her and hold her and make love to her-- god no. None of that. And so, with a sudden swiftness, a plan was born.

Oh, Ivy. And for a split second. A fraction of a second. He felt bad. Guilty. There was a bit of compassion left yet, and as he stood, he felt it pull at his heart.

Then it was gone.

Without another word, he clamped his hand down on her mouth. Ivy's eyes went wide, and her hands reached up to pull at his wrist. She was wholey uncertain of what was going on. She never would have guessed. He muttered a word under his breath that suddenly paralyzed her. Put her to sleep, if you will. And once she was limp in the chair, her glasses sliding off her lap and into the sand, he bent to scoop her into his arms.

The walk to the house was short, and she would stay asleep for at least fifteen minutes. He had enough time to lock her in a room, find some rope, and begin to think about what he was actually going to do with her. She was a useful tool-- perhaps even a bargaining chip. Lately, it seemed, the other human girl was talking to this one more than Lydia. Maybe she would trade one for the other...

His mind was racing as he finally reached the top step of the inside stairs to place her on the bed in the room that had been hers. He rummaged the drawers in there-- nothing. Then he remembered seeing some twine in the kitchen. It may not be strong enough, but it was worth the shot.

He closed her in the room, hurrying down the stairs and into the small kitchen. A few drawers were opened and closed before he found the twine, sitting rolled up in a drawer that mostly held junk. Also in the drawer were the keys to all the rooms on a small silver keychain. Calis lifted up the chain and slid it in his pocket, moving back up the stairs.

Once he reentered the room that held Ivy, he moved to the bed. It looked like she was sleeping. Peaceful. He sighed as he watched her for a moment, a glimmer of feeling returning. The poor girl had just gotten herself in the middle of a mess much larger than she. He reached to move some hair from her pale face and sighed as he took a length of the twine and moved to her feet. He wrapped it once, twice, three times around before securing it with a tight knot. Having learned knots in his time at home, it was easy for him to make sure it was tight and unable to slip.

Next he turned her over, a hand resting gently on her back as her dead weight moved in his strong arms. Her arms were pulled behind herself and he secured them there behind her back. Sitting her up against the headboard, he peered around the room and realized that she had come completely unarmed. With a little sigh, guilty about her innocence, he left the room and clicked the lock behind himself.

Throbbing. Her head-- it was throbbing. Pounding.

Where was she?

Her eyes wouldn't open. Not right away. They were heavy as if they had been weighted down.

So. Heavy.

Ivy sighed, she felt the air move through her lips, but they would not yet move. Her back was against something hard, though slightly plush, yet her bottom half was on something as soft as-- a bed?

How had she gotten inside?

Finally, her eyes listened to her body and opened. Blink. Blinkblink. A pause. Blink.

She was in her room.

Her mouth pursed into a little bow and she went to pull her self up and off the bed. Her arms wouldn't budge... she could feel them, they were moving, but they wouldn't--

Oh. My. God.

Ivy didn't know she had spoken the words aloud until she heard them echo off the almost empty walls. Her eyes ran the length of her body she could see and found her feet also twined together. Ivy gasped.

Fahlen Garsloth

I'm sorry, this isn't about you. Fahl was lifting Ivy up off the bed gently. She had spent the past two days locked in her room. Food and water was left for her, her hands untied, and then a few hours later, she would wake up tied again.

...who are you? She blinked. It was the first time she had seen the green haired elf. or anyone, really, since her nightmare began. What did you do with Calis? She was indignant, protective-- the mama bear.

I am Calis. He sighed. That part of him that felt bad resurfaced and he wanted to hug the girl, really he did. But, he didn't. She was nothing more than a human. A pawn in this game. He couldn't let himself feel for her, not now. This isn't about you. I told you. You just.. I had to use someone and the other girl would draw too much attention. She was being carried down the stairs she realized now. he took her carefully one by one.

Erin? This had to be about her. Her friend, while good to her, was often in trouble. If Ivy didn't hear it form Erin's mouth, she heard it from the Gangstar. This is about Erin?

Fahl shook his head again.

The other one. He paused. Lydia. It was hard for him to call her that and not her title. It felt wrong. But what would these stupid earthlings know of the importance of a Holy Mother? It made ivy gasp, though, to know that it was the mostly untroublesome member of their team that was in danger. It didn't seem fair. She pulled at her bounds.

Don't fight, this is easier on us both if you don't fight. and with that, ivy went limp.
