So tonight I was playing with Hawk and ...well... hilarity ensued. I just *had* to share! *grins* Seriously, BIG props and thanks go to him for this scene.. I couldn't stop laughing!
HawkJahad: You are too kind Lydia. ::He shook his coin purse a little bit.:: But I am not lacking right now. ::The clinks of many coins was apparent in his purse.:: And a man like me has no need of coin too often. I shall stick to this...drink you spoke of earlier. Tell me is it strong?
Lydia Loran: Strong? Like.. alcohol? ::A smile:: I'm afraid it has no alcohol in it.. at all. It is a ..different taste though.. oh! And you can't shake the bottle, because when you open it, it will explode on you. ::Sagely nod:: There's.. different types of sodas though.. I just stick with Pep-si.
HawkJahad: Pep-seee? ::He stretched the syllables out oddly.:: An exploding drink? Peace! ::He exclaimed.:: What happens if I jump about like I did this evening with some of it in my belly? I will surely explode, and then Renna shall have no need to squish me.
Lydia Loran: ::A blink.. and gasp! She had never thought about that!:: I don't know! ::She almost looks panicked.. Grem didn't warn her about that!:: And I just drank a bottle.. ::Pale eyes widened a bit::
HawkJahad: ::He took a tepid step backwards.:: Peace. We must make sure you do not bounce around too much Lydia. ::He nodded his head sagely.:: An explosion within your small form would not stop with just you. And I have had my share of burns.
Lydia Loran: ::She stood still. Perfectly still.. was she honestly afraid to move now? I mean... she's drank pepsi plenty of times before, and has been alright. Then again, that seems to have escaped her mind currently:: Oh no... I need to get home too. ::Frowning as she glanced down to her tummy hidden beneath her dress, watching it expectantly:: But I can't walk home.. what if I trip and fall? I could... ::Her frown deepened::
Lydia Loran: ::She'd run around in panic if she weren't so panicked that panicking would make her explode::
HawkJahad: ::Hawk glanced about furtively, taking a cautious step forward.:: Who would have you drink such a dangerous substance? ::He inquired.:: Is this someone you know well, a friend?
Lydia Loran: ::Blinkblinkblink... stare at the tummy...waiting.. waiting... :: Sid... she first told me about sodas... and gave me one.. and.. the other day I found out they exploded. ::Nodnod.. and an eep. Nodding was movement.. she shouldn't move:: I opened the bottle and it exploded, them Grem told me you can't shake them, but he didn't warn me about shaking when it was inside and.. I don't wanna explode. ::Her tone is teetering on a whine::
HawkJahad: Okay. Stay still. Here is what I shall do. A Yellow Sister once told me the stomach has liquids in it that do funny things. Perhaps one of those liquids makes this soda able to be consumed without exploding? But I shall go and get some, and then I shall walk far away and drink some and jump up and down. If I do not explode then it should be okay for you to move. ::With that he ducked into the Inn, hurrying to the bar and rustling through the ice box to find a bottle marked Pepsi on it. He found
HawkJahad: it and emerged back onto the porch with it in hand, holding it as if it were the most
fragile object he had handled.::
Lydia Loran: ::Eyes widened as she watched him leave. She wanted to follow.. but you know.. panic? She glanced to the door, her stomach.. the door.. her stomach.. and back again as Hawk came back out:: But Hawk, if you explode then... you'll explode! ::Duh:: You can't drink that then drink up and down. ::Biting her lip nervously now::
HawkJahad: Okay. ::He spoke again, walking off past the porch and far into the distance, a hundred feet away.:: I am drinking it now! ::He shouted so she could hear him. He examined the bottle and placed his hand upon its strange cap. He attempted to take it off by as gently as possible twisting the cap. It did not turn. He frowned.:: What sort of enchanment has sealed this bottle shut and how do I open it without causing it to explode?! ::He shouted across the distance.::
Lydia Loran: You have to twist the cap! ::Shouted back...and a wince.. she shouldn't be shouting should she?::
HawkJahad: ::He tried again, this time applying more force. There was a sort of tearing sound, and then a sudden hiss. Suddenly he was a deer in head lights, going absolutely still and holding his breath, his eyes wide.::
Lydia Loran: ::Eyes widened as she stared off into the distance... almost expecting.. something to happen? But there was nothing... :: Hawk! Are you okay? ::Shouted out, though not as loud as last time::
HawkJahad: ::He glanced around, worriedly for a moment, making sure he was still alive. Finally he released his breath.:: I am okay, I think.
Lydia Loran: ::She was getting nervous. Really nervous. Not even aware she was shifting weight from foot to foot, back and forth...rocking.. moving...::
HawkJahad: ::With that he placed the mouth of the bottle to his lips. And slowly but surely taking a sip of the liquid. It burned, horribly burned the back of his throat, and seemed to cause air to rush through his nostrils. But he drank slowly but surely, tipping the bottle back slowly to drain its contents. When it was empty he placed it placidly upon the stones.;: Okay, I'm going to jump now. You can have my coin if I explode. Or whats left of it. ::He spoke loud enough to cross the distance. ::With a
HawkJahad: slow but sure movement he lifted himself off his feet, just barely stepping on tip toes and springing into the air a centimeter. Again he went completely still, closing his eyes tight awaiting the end.::
Lydia Loran: ::There probably wouldn't be any coin left.. oh right! The jump.. pale eyes widen in horror as he jumped..but.. that wouldn't do it:: You didn't do it right! You have to jump up and down! The liquid has to be shaken.
Lydia Loran: ::Wait, shouldn't she be discouraging him now?::
HawkJahad: Nothing...::He frowned a bit. This time he jumped up a bit higher and landed. Still nothing. Again he jumped into the air, this time repeating the motion a few times leaping upwards and downards. Nothing again. He sprung forward now, gracefully placing a hand onto the cobbled stone and flipping over. He landed and again awaited something. Suddenly he felt a pressure in his stomach, a great pressure as the soda began to fizz in his stomach. He placed his hands on his
abdomen and glanced around.
HawkJahad: This was surely the end. Finally the bubbling sensation became a large bubble in his throat. Oh Light, it was definitely an explosion. He felt his mouth open and his throat spread and a sound came out.:: Buuuuuuurrrrpppppppp!
Lydia Loran: ::She watched his movements wide eyed. The up and down, the flips... nothing...but he grabbed his stomach? No no! Hawk was going to explode!? ...wait... what was that? She blinked.. and blinked again... and just...stared::
HawkJahad: ::The noise seemed to echo in the night, bouncing down the alleyway and through the silent night air. birds stirred from trees in the forest, and miles away a doe paused to glance around suspicously as it heard the odd noise that sounded very much like a roar.::
Lydia Loran: ::Blink blink....stare... snicker.. snicker.. giggle.. and finally? Laughter::
Lydia Loran: ::Oh, and pointing too, can't forget that. Point, and laugh::
HawkJahad: ::He himself could not help but laugh, hard. It was unabated. He threw his head back and began to laugh rather hard. Tears began to stream down his face with the strength of the laughter. He shook his head.:: Peace! That is the...::laughing.:: loudest burp...::He shook his head as he walked and approached the porch.:: I have ever...ever..heard..
Lydia Loran: I have to.. ::Giggle:: ..agree. ::She grinned widely, wiping at watery eyes:: I can't believe that's all that happened! We were in a panic over...that? ::She laughed again:: Oh my gosh...
I feel so silly now... ::Not to mention absolutely mortified::
HawkJahad: Well, I felt like I would expode. But that was not the sort of explosion I was expecting. ::He shook his head, placing a hand on her shoulder still laughing.:: I think you are safe now Lydia.
Lydia Loran: I think so too... ::Chuckling:: I guess that means I can- ::Pause... blink:: -..burp. ::Tiny, high pitched and delicate her burp was!::
HawkJahad: ::He laughed too and squeezed her shoulder a bit as he laughed.:: I think you need to do a flip to get one as loud as mine. But that was a definite good try.
Lydia Loran: ::Her cheeks flushed a bit at her burp, since girlies weren't supposed to burp in public!:: Urm.. maybe later? ::Another chuckle:: I guess I can keep drinking my pepsi then... ::Pausing, before glancing up towards Hawk:: Oh, did you like it?
HawkJahad: ::He shook his head, making a wrinkled face.:: It was odd, it seemed to make my nostrils fill with air and it burned the back of my throat. But it tasted very nice.HawkJahad: ::He glanced down to the hand on her shoulder suddenly embarassed.:: Oh...::He glanced away now, a slight flush to his cheeks.:: <q> Sorry.
Lydia Loran: ::And all that. It was free of charge~:: That's good. ::Grinning:: You can drink that rather than your ale then! ::And a curious blink to his sudden withdrawal, she hadn't even realized his hand was on her shoulder:: Oh? No worries. ::Drawing her cloak tighter around herself she glanced around:: It is getting pretty late... I should probably head back home.
..and etc.
:D Thanks again Hawk!
