The following is a listing of all powers and responsibilities that each officer and crew designation possesses, for IC and OOC reference.

Within these pages would also be found specialty equipment available to each crew designation, and what each officer controls in regards to NPC units.

-Provide general leadership and direction to his crew and officer corps

The Captain's word is law. As long as you are aboard his ship, you will obey his command. This can also be true OOC. Respect the Captain's decisions, just as he will respect your opinions.

The Captain can only be removed if he is KIA, usurped from power by a planned mutiny, or resigns.

The Captain possesses default control of all NPCs, but will not, under any circumstances, usurp NPC control from their proper officer without apparent reason. The Captain can usurp control without permission if:
-An officer is KIA or fired
-An officer is turning renegade to the point of compromising the ship when it's not a part of an sl
-An officer is inactive in the middle of an sl
In the event of the last thing happening, the Captain will create an excuse to pull the officer out of action, if one has not already been offered.

The Captain has special access to:
-Ship safe
-Personnel records
-Self-destruct codes
-Airtight door codes
-General communication across all channels

-Provide for the health and well-being of the crew and officers
-Assist the Scientific Adviser in pharmaceutical research, biological or chemical

When it comes to your health, there is no arguing against the CMO. Take whatever is given, but the CMO will not try to poison you unless it's a part of an sl.

The CMO has exclusive command of the Nurse NPC. He also shares command of the Lab Hand NPCs with the Scientific Adviser.

The CMO, and Nurse, have access to, along with the knowledge to use them:
-Stem cells, antibiotics, and other lesser forms of medicine
-General care tools and therapies
-Defibrillator
-Extended Stay tools
-Access to the Medical Computer for files, reports, and diagnoses

The CMO possesses exclusive access to:
-Surgery, general or advanced
-Regenerative therapies
-Advanced medicine beyond stem cells

In regards to the limits of advanced medicine, there are none. If you can think of it, the Traveler has it. But be wary. Sometimes instant cures are not the way to go.

-Research and experiment on biological, chemical, and geological specimens
-Provide guidance on complex problems planetside or on board
-Provide real world uses for scientific discoveries

The Scientific Adviser possesses partial control of:
-the Lab Hands NPCs with the Chief Medical Officer, and
-the Software Engineers with the Communications Officer

The Scientific Adviser is there to advise, not necessarily command. In this sense, his/her position is one of the most powerful on the ship. His/her intelligence is not to be taken lightly.

The Scientific Adviser is also the only officer, aside from the Captain, who has complete access to all of the computers.

The Scientific Adviser has access to:
-Scientific Computer
-Software Databanks
-Radiation/HAZMAT Suits
-Specimens in cold storage

The Lab Hands and Scientific Adviser have access to:
-Scientific tools
-Electron microscope
-Preserves

-Maintain ship integrity, including power systems, engines, and slipspace drive

The Master Engineer has exclusive control over the Engineering NPCs.

The Master Engineer has access to:
-Master and backup Engineering terminals that report radiation levels inside the drive; and engine, drive, and ship integrity

The Master Engineer and crew have access to:
-Spare primary and tertiary circuitry panels
-Space suits
-Advanced repair equipment for the drive, engines, and power supply

-Provide ship-to-ship communication, inner-ship, and planet-to-ship communication

The Communications Officer shares partial control of the Software Engineer NPCs with the Scientific Adviser.

The Communications Officer has access to:
-Racial Archives
-Linguistic Software
-Communication across all channels

The Master of Arms has exclusive control of the Marine NPCs.

The Master of Arms and Marine leftenant have access to:
-Inventory of cargo and necessities

The Marines command two weapons, aside from the standard issue pistol, to help them perform their duty. Both of them were supplied by the Lysandros Syndicate and Lord Zayveon. Both models used run on energy batteries to fire ship-safe energy rounds rather than kinetic bullets.

The first model is used for ship defense against boarding parties. Unofficially called a "Tommy gun," it is capable of fully automatic or semi-automatic firing with enough charge for five hundred shots.

The second model, the E-11, is a traditional energy rifle for planetary excursions. All E-11s are equipped with a varying scope that possesses a thermal setting, low-light setting, and range-finder.
