It had been the passing of countless seasons since the elf decided to set foot in the marketplace section of Rhydin. Normally, the hustle and bustle and the usual trinkets hawked by those trying to make a quick buck did little to persuade him to take a look. He had been biding his own time to himself, but something today drew him closer to the heart of the city.

His soft footsteps cut to silence as he stopped before the window of a small shop. While its size could contend with some of the smaller buildings in the vincinity, it was the scent of plant life inside that brought the elf's porcelain hand upon the door latch, slowly swinging it open.

"... hello?" While soft in tone, his voice instantly belied his otherwise feminine appearance.

Raelin stood behind the counter having just bid someone else good day she waved the elf in. " Vedui', " Raelin knew a little elvish thanks t a few coven members. "Merry Meet, please come in."

She slid out from behind the counter. The shope was not small nor large. It was perfect for her use. In the far left of the shope along the wall is a very tall a d long book shelf full of books, spices, herbs, crystals, and jewlery. The table sets in front of the window Then theres another table below a higher window . Then the counter which is like a bar top, that one could push up a small part to go through the break. Two chairs sit behind there.

Then theres a wall, and a door, something non fancy sorta like a salon door low and very easy to see around and go through. The work shope is behind that door the sink and stove are at the far left cabnets, drawers and work space along the back wall, another table and two chairs for working or eating at, then a wall and a door space but no door in it shes hung like cute beeds up or like a nice silky drape to seperat it, then the stairs that winde up to the loft. All that was apart and yet nort really apart of ehr offcial shope space. But it made up the room.

It suited Raelin well. And had done quite well this first year.

"What can I help you with?" Raelin was polite and ever read to aid new customers.

The elf turned to the shopkeeper as she approached, his crimsoned lips softening into a smile. "Oh, I was strolling by and noticed this shop... I thought I could smell plants growing inside. Apparently, it was worth a look...." Indeed it was. For such a small shop, it had plants of all kinds. Some actively growing, others dried into herbs, and some that he didn't recall growing in his home.

"Well, I didn't come in with anything specific in mind at first, but now that you've brought it up... do you have anything that you'd be able to use as a pigment? For painting and stuff like that... say something that could be ground up or worked into something that goes on a brush?"

"I am glad you came in."A bright smile. There was a lot of plant life, plants in pots, plants that were dired and the evry smell of lavender and rosemary. She lsietend as the elf discribed what he was looking for.

"Many herbs make pigments.Fine for writting with, or painting with. If your looking for pigments that are safe for lets say ones face or eyes.. I have a few of those herbs. I have a few fine furits that make wonderful pigments."She walked tot he book shelf and took down a small white bowl. "Acai Berries make a fine dye, for cltohing and for lip color."She smiled as she wore the color herself it was muted from t e deep purlpe tone of the Acai berry juice. She sat the bowl to the small round table filled with half priced goodies.

"Agrimony flowers make a fine yellow pigment for painting or parchment."She pointed to the dry flowers hanging and the live pant in the window.

"Beet powder is a fine red pigment when mixed with oil or water."There was a small bag of the poweder on the half price table. "Then there is always balckberries and any of the berry family that i carry that make fine dyes.. many of the green leaves about the shope make fine blue or green pigments but very few are good for much of anything besides painting or parchment."

"Cacao makes a fine brown pigment and tastes lovely.Buckthorn?s bark and fruits yield a yellow dye. "

She tapped her chin thinking. She didnt often get any artists in so carried so few things for one wishing to paint with herbs, and fewer still for anyone wishing to use said pigment son oens self since many of the herbs could be toxic if eatten or settled in to skin. "Honestly other than that I could not tell you. I dont get many artists in looking for pigments. " She did like to be honest she was no artist her self least not with paper and brush.

"I don't blame you, there's vast amounts of mediums out there when it comes to painting. I just tend to prefer those that are more natural or you can grow up from the ground." The elf tapped his porcelain chin, possibilities running through his mind as Raelin listed off her supplies. Several of those would very much be worth taking home.

Curious as to what else the shop held, the elf swiveled around to the section where jewelry was laid out. His eyes came to rest on a piece resembling three pointed ovals joined at the center, appearing as if the shape was formed from one continuous piece of metal. Gingerly he reached a hand into the collar of his dress and brought up a similarly-shaped pendant on a thin silver chain. "This... is a triquetra, is that correct? I haven't seen another representation of it in my time here, other than in literature or studies..."

Raelin smiled. She was not artist, yets he knew that she carried a few things at the very least worthy of a artists paint brush. She watched the elf, shed only met a few of elven kind, mst were int he coven or ones shed seen at the inn. This one was different from them. She looked tot he piece he held then to the peice withdrawn fron under his tunic. "Aye that is a triquetra. "To both his and the one he held from her table.

"It has been used many times through the centries for those of magic. "She was older than she looked. "The triquetra has been found on runestones in Northern Europe and on early Germanic coins. It presumably had pagan religious meaning and it bears a resemblance to the Valknut, a symbol associated with Odin. A god from old tales." She had been to earthen soils before long ago. And knew much history. " Its very often used for protection in this realm, and a few others. By witches like myself and other spell casters. But some hold other magics. "To the one from her table she noted at that.

"This ones of my own design, made from the metal may elves know as mithral.. instead of silver or gold. It holds on it the usual protection as well as a small courage spell I placed on it."A smile.

"I can make custom jewlery to ones liking, fitting with in what I know how to make. The emblems of magic are most known to me.. but I do make others." Just incase he would be interested.

"Hmm yes, that all seems consistent with what I've found in my studies." The elf nodded and let his own triquetra hang free from his neck. No need to hide it from odd looks when there was someone present who was knowledgeable in such matters.

"And you say you're a witch as well? That would explain quite the eclectic collection you have for sale here, if you don't mind me saying." The elf smiled and slowly pointed over to the plants they had looked at a few moments ago. "I would certainly be interested in your jewelry work at some point, but I think for today I'll make do with the plants... I think the acai berries and agrimony flowers are to my liking today."

Raelin nodded an then smiled. There was no need to hide what she was in her shope. She was a rare breed herself. "Yes, I was born one you could say."

A smirk to her shopes collection, it was eclectic. " Idon't mind you saying so,I agree." As he declared what he wanted she went to fetch the items. "One small, or medium bag of the berries,?I have fresh and dried that plump up nicely in hot water. "She moved to show him two bowls one with fresh berries, one with dried. She set them down on the counter for viewing. "And dried agrimony flowers, or would you like a potted plant?" She had a medium sized one in the window. and a few sprigs of dried hanging up there as well. "I have a few small ones in the back, nicely potted, ready to be taken home. They do love the sun, and will grow in any window. They dont' like the cold, I do cover that one at night ."To the window she looked again, as she awaited his decsison.

"And I am always accepting orders for jewlery. " Raelin smiled, always happy to make a sale. The shope had eben quiet so far. But she didnt mind, many passer ons would look in and maybe pause a moment. But so few came in, she figured it was this cold weather that kept everyone away.

Galeas tapped a finger to his lip. "Hmm... for the berries I believe I'll have the fresh ones. And a potted agrimony would be nice, too. I think I can spare a small patch of land for that one. I'll make sure, even though I'm an outdoors person, that it doesn't get a touch of frostbite." Already the elf was thinking of other possibilities especially with her jewelry, but that could always wait for another visit.

"Wise choices." She smiled and went to make his order ready, she found a nice potted Agrimony in the back and placed the fresh berried in their special jar. On the front in her fine printing was whta the jar contined, where it was bought, and other info. The agrimony was a ina small planter, nice sprigs of green, and a bud or two already showing, even in winter. Which showed her knack for all things green. She placed his items on her counter.

" A simple cover would do it, a pillow case, small nap sack, even a old potatoe bag would work.. to keep it from the frost.. they are rather enduring." She went to tallying the items on a piece of paper. "Well if this is to be all for this day, the price comes to five silvers for the plant, and seven coppers for the berries. "She was used to dealing with Rhydin coinage.
