Video Reaction: 2 Days Before the Protest

Tessa had Daphne on just about all social media that they shared in common, so it didn?t take long for her to catch wind of the viral video the woman posted online. She?d been doing her usual wake ?n bake session, and by the time she finished the video those blue eyes were wide and glistening. It was no secret Tess was the emotional sort, and it seemed the video struck strings with pride for their friendship and the cause. Fanning her hand in her face, she was sniffling. Eyes rolled to the ceiling as she tried to contain them, but? it?s Tess. Once it starts, it?s going to happen. ?I l-love that wo-wo-wom-annnnnnn.? And it wasn?t long before she was a puddle of emotional mess.

Poor Russo and Vida who had to witness the breakdown!

But even in the middle of her emotional breakdown, she scrambled for her phone and shot a quick text to Grace Cassidy to set up a hair appointment. Tess was notoriously known by her friends and those associated to find? just about any reason, really? to dye her hair strange colors. This seemed like a prime opportunity!

Just as she also shared, linked and forwarded the video to just about everyone she knew.

She was frantic, hyped, too high and was running around the house like a chicken with her head cut off. Her blue irises contrasted with the bloodshot red of the rest of her eyes from both the weed and crying, she was still sniffling and her voice cracked at certain points when she talked. ?We, we need.. What do we need? A list. I need to make a list. I need to help Daphne. She?s?? Oh boy, here we go ahead. Those wide eyes were blinking rapidly as they filled with moisture again and she paused where she stood, swiveling on her barefeet as that bottom lip just quivered away. Arms sweeping dramatically as she wailed, ?just such a damn swee? swee?. sweetheaaaaaaaaart.? She was too high to handle all these emotions.

And after yet another moment of sobbing and recollecting herself, face buried in her hands, it finally snapped up with those wide bleary eyes as she sniffled once and looked around. ?List.. list.. I need a list. We need things. So many things.? Cue the running again!

(Considering Tess will be rather involved with her weed buddy's protest and didn't want to spam the Protest thread with a bunch of Tessa stuff -there will also be others joining in with this thread, too!- it will just be linked to the Protest Thread, Daphne's permission to post. Also, a thank you to Daphne for coming up with all this <3 It's going to be a lot of fun. And a thank you to the Humanity First/Temple SL for giving the crazy flower child something to protest! She's loving every second of it.)

Russo

Russo wasn?t much for protesting or getting involved at all, really. He was a junkie, and he truly believed his voice didn?t hold much weight when it came to just about anything. This mattered to Tess, though?which meant it mattered to him, because she did. He?d been sitting with her, joining her in the wake and bake, because it was the less disappointing version of injecting poison into his veins. Watching the video over her shoulder as he puffed on the cigarette, he could practically feel the emotions spilling off the girl. He moved quickly to grab her a tissue, and hold it out at the ready. Her emotions weren?t something he minded, even if they gave him the overwhelming urge to hold her, and kiss her on the head.

Tessa scrambled to ready things and he was in no hurry to help with that one. Mostly because he tended to screw things up? He could throw out ideas, but to oversee the list? He?d probably leave something really important off. An idea popped into his head, and he looked up, raising an eyebrow. Just because he wasn?t as emotional as Tessa doesn?t mean he wasn?t following along. He listened to her enough to know what was going on. The vandal victims, the boycott victims? ?I could make muffin baskets?? he muttered, timid as he always was. He was definitely more comfortable around Tessa than anyone else, but that didn?t mean she convinced him to think higher of himself. Even if he had practically become her roommate. Poor guy was probably one wrong breath away from the friend zone. Not that he minded, long as she was in his life. What a sap. Didn?t he know nice guys finished last? ?For the people that got vandalized or boycott, I mean?? he muttered awkwardly.

Vida had been sitting there on the other side of Tessa, having joined the wake 'n bake session. She was still sleepy from having gotten home so late in the morning, so she wasn't quite as bright and bushy tailed as the other two. Nor had she been paying much attention to the video. It was when Tessa started getting emotional that she crawled like a cat over the armrest of the couch they were sitting on to another brightly colored couch.

"Nope. Nu uh," she muttered. She wasn't dealing with the emotional mess that morning! No. She was too tired and high. Curling up in the corner of the couch away from them, she found the bag of lollipops that Tessa kept on hand for the kitty who was always just a little bit too frisky for comfort.

Popping it in her mouth, she spun the white stick between her fingers as her eyes followed Tessa's frantic running and crying. Glancing back and forth between the pink haired mess and the mumbling junkie on the other couch, she just shook her head. "I have no idea what's going.." Muttered around the lollipop. Her intelligence was pretty low, her hair color matching her IQ. But she had a feeling whatever was going on, she was going to be sucked into it.

Running back and forth, trying to find a notebook and having to grab tissues. Vida was just confused, and she'd have to explain it to the girl later. But her mind was a scrambled mess with swarms of thoughts and ideas clattering and crashing into each other. She was going to think herself into a headache if she kept it up, but Tessa was a bit of a hurricane when she put her mind to something. Though the fact that Daphne was holding the protest had a major role in her want to help so much, it was also the simple fact that it was something she believed in. Which only made that urge all the stronger.

"What's it... let's see.. lets see.. Signs are must," she muttered to herself, fighting the cap off a pen that seemed stuck until finally she clenched it between her teeth and with a jerk of her head, tore it off. Turning her head to spit the cap toward the counter, she scribbled something on the notebook after slapping it open. "Shirts? Should we do shirts? Who would do shirts.." She worried her bottom lip with her teeth, wiggling the pen between her fingers as it tapped repetitively on her temple as if the action would summon her thoughts to come clear. She really was too high for this.

But what had her stopping in her tracks and actually going still for the first time since she'd watched the video was Russo speaking up. When he mentioned making muffins for the vandalized and boycotted victims, her nose twitched and her eyes got that widened glistening look to them. Her bottom lip started quivering again, and it was like the sprinkling before the storm. "Russo..." She squeaked his name, and the pen was abandoned on the notebook as she took all of three bounds and a leap onto the couch and all but flung herself on him with the intentions of hugging him. "That's perrrrrrrfectttt," she'd sob into his shoulder. "Genius! You make the b-b-best muffinssssss. They'll love thaaat." Daphne, what have you started...

There wasn't even a little part of him that thought Tessa would react that way. Otherwise he'd have started a blood drive a while ago. Ha! Who'd want a junkie's blood? Still, he stiffened up when she suddenly flung herself on him, his arms slowly wrapping around her back. He leaned into her hair and shut his eyes. (Maybe smelling it a bit.) "Olive juice..." he muttered softly.

She felt Russo stiffen up, but either she was too emotional to notice or he was just going to have to suck up her affections and take it like a champ. Seemed to be the latter as he... sniffed her hair.. which, she didn't even notice. In his defense, her shampoo was organic and smelled like avocados.

When that strange little phrase came out, she'd been clung onto him like a spider monkey and she opened her eyes and looked at him. "I don't think I've known anyone to love juice so much.." Shaking her head, she let out a whimsical laugh and pulled away from him to wipe her eyes with the heels of her hands and sniffle. "Okay, hun. We'll get you some juice. Then get to the list!" Yeah, went right over her head, just like it always did.

Justin had come out from the shower in time to witness the hug and the mumble of soft words that seemed to blow right over the girl's pretty head. He raised an eyebrow, wearing little more than a towel around his waist. How in the world was she that oblivious? For the moment, he didn't say anything. "Yeah, he loves juice," raising his eyebrows and licking his lips. "Runs in the family..."

Then he'd go ahead and turn his attentions to the more...willing of the girls. "I'll be in your room," he offered. Then, up the stairs he went.

That girl was... diztin' it up on that couch. Poor girl had absolutely no idea what was going on. List? .. For what? Oh god she's crying again. Nope! Nuh uh. You deal widdit. All that said in her head as she just sucked on her lollipop with wide, bleary doe-eyes that were veiled slightly from a messy mop of blonde hair.

But the moment that bathroom door swung open, her head snapped in that direction. Everything that was going on was just soaring over her little blonde head, but.. Justin in a towel did not. A cheeky grin contorted over the lollipop as she eyed that tongue, and she thought she understood what Russo meant. Blinking, she looked at him and Tessa. "Oh... OH." Giggling, yeah.. she didn't get it either. She just thought she did.

Her head turned and tilted back to look up a Justin, and when he told her he'd be in her room.. she sat there long enough to crunch down and finish off that Cherry Lollipop before tossing the stick in the ashtray. Spindly limbs climbed over the couch instead of taking the time to go around it, and she was zooming up those steps after him. And when his back came into sight... she'd speed up into a sprint and fly through the doorway into her room to spring herself at him like a pouncing cougar. Unfortunately, she kept forgetting that he had been a football player in high school and college, and she weighed a whopping 105 pounds soaking wet. She just... smacked into his back with a grunt and flopped to the floor, shaking her head like a dog who had ran into a wall.

But if she had anything to say about it, Tess and Russo would see that towel fluttering down the stairs as.. who knows what lengths she went through to make sure they knew what was up.
