Meanwhile at the Cardinal Inn

On one of their after-school visits to their big sister, Rick and Catie Harker were watching TV when the ad came on. "Maggie!!! You gotta see this!"

Hearing her brother, Maggie poked her head out of the bathroom. "What's goin...." Wide-eyed Maggie was momentarily dumbfounded. When she found her voice, she almost yelled, "Whoa, he's humongous!"

Catie laughed. "I guess now we know how he can carry so many eggs at the same time!" A puzzled look came over her face. "Somehow, I though he'd look more rabbity."

Before Maggie could go into big sister mode, Rick turned to his twin with an amused expression. "Catie, this is Rhydin. We could have an Easter Dragon and as long as people got their eggs and candy, it wouldn't matter."

Maggie's brows rose and she started giggling as she remembered the tale of the Easter Beagle.

Catie's forehead furrowed. "I suppose, but I think a dragon might lose the job if we got fried eggs instead of hard boiled ones!"

"Hard-boiled, fried, does it really matter?" Rick smacked his lips. "As long as we get to eat them!"

Saila was fighting wi--er, watching Hex's tv on one of those rare occasions where the Hellion actually fell asleep, trying to educate herself on this business of laws that appeared to apply primarily on Earth. Brows furrowed and her tongue caught unconsciously between her teeth, the teen uttered a small cry of victory when pushing the buttons actually changed the channel for once.

...Only to reveal her Jackie-face and Des. Well. That was unexpected.

Watching the commercial with rapt attention, Saila couldn't help the smirk that was growing gradually on her face. What was Pharlen up to now? She'd already lived through eggs that grew legs and ran away, only to burst in a cloud of confetti when you caught them, not to mention the unicorn with the bloody snapping jaws she'd received last year. Snickering quietly, the teen reached for her sparkly phone and shot off a quick text.

Text to Jackie : Today I learned what a *public service announcement* is. You and Des are doing them now?
Text to Jackie : Also should I be concerned?

Jackie was busy helping her uncle with a whole lot of cataloging books and scrolls. Mainly scrolls, and she knew better than to ask Emrys where all those antiquities came from. There were certain rules of legalese to follow just in case, after all.

She cackled as she read Saila's text. Yay! Her ad was paying off!

Text to Saila (Fate's Underpants): Yup! Got to try and cover our butts.

Text to Saila (Fate's Underpants): Nooo, I'm pretty sure Mom at least will recognize your scent if nothing else. Besides, she's got Hatchimals and Shopkins this year. Remind her you don't eat candy!

A note was sent to Jackie and Des via courier.

Hi Jackie and Des!

The Easter thing on TV was great! I'd like to know if you would be willing to create something as part of the Children's Day events this year. Maybe that Easter Bunny could hand out treats for the kids! Let me know what you think about it!

Thanks bunches,

Maggie Harker

Jackie replied on lovely black stationary trimmed with little pink sprays of flowers and wrote with shimmery pink ink.

"Hello, Maggie!

We can't really speak for the Easter Bunny, we just kind of were covering the
bases because you know, potential lawsuits. But she might? We'll ask.

We have a steam punk photo booth, too, but last year, fae got into everything and made everything go wonky. So fair warning for that.

Yours,

Jackie VonTombs."
