Business that pertained towards matters of family had kept the witch away as of late, and before she knew it, Lilliana had missed a most lovely occasion she'd been invited to by one miss Riley O'Rourke!
Well, well... Lilliana McClae was not a woman known to be late, tardy, nor forgetful, so she'd just have to make it up to the birthday boy, Daniel, and his lovely hostess Riley. Anyone who knew the buxom could tell you she was a queer sort of gift giver. Call it her gypsy genes coming into play, but whenever an event passed that called for gifts, she often found herself trolling the markets for an excellent wooden trunk. Who didn't love trunks? They served to many purposes, could be filled with so many promises, and could hold memories both fresh and old.
Lilliana sort of had a thing for trunks really. So it was no surprise she found one almost immediately, even amongst the multitude of otherworld odds and ends that surrounded it at a knockabout merchant's stall. It was a handsome, finely touched trunk that waited for Daniel, sitting wrapped with a large bow, downstairs at the desk of the Zen Garden's building complex...

Ahh, but the gypsy wasn't done, oh no; and neither was her lover, Zayveon. The draconian too had been away, though his was more business abroad less-so than family. Though his gypsy had made mention of his potential, but not certain presence at Daniel's little surprise soiree, he too would be sending a gift. It was obvious that Lilliana's influence was at work, though, because within the large, hollow-bellied trunk their was a smaller box wrapped very carefully in a gold leaf paper...

And inside that box? A note with an even eensier box. Yes, one last box, and just about as tricky as the first. Inside that box was the true present, however...

Ouroboros. A symbol for eternity, rebirth, infallible force, and the nature of Kundalini energy. The note within held enough simplicity and power on it's own as well, two elegant signatures; one from the draconian, and one from his gypsy. The paper was crisply folded despite it's obviously hand made nature. Bits of faint floral traces ran throughout the piece, not obscuring so much as adding to the easy scrawl of ink across it. Lavender perhaps? No, too soporific. Jasmine. Jasmine and something woodsy with an under tone of richness... Sandalwood.

To a lovely fellow on his birthday come and gone. We send our sincerest apologies and these gifts in hopes to celebrate, honor, and apologize... Work and family sometimes take us all for a whirl, but hopefully you were surrounded by those that touched you dearest, and in a room full of folk that still sounds as though it might be your Riley.
Happy Birthday Daniel, many blessings and belated apologies, sincerely;
Lilliana McClae and Z'ev Zayveon
