Topic: Welcome to the Building

Clover had been in the building for just over a week, getting herself moved in. Fiora being the the only company she'd had over during that first week as she was getting settled. Until that noisy Wednesday night, that is. Clover woke in her otherwise empty bed with a wide grin. It figured that the neighbors knew without a doubt she was there now, perhaps it was time she met them?

Getting out of bed and getting dressed in shorts and a grey tee, Clover propped the door open and set herself to cooking. What better way to say, "Sorry for waking you up in the middle of the night" than with brownies? Cookies too? Maybe brownies topped with chocolate chip cookies. Soon the scent of deliciousness would be filling the halls.

Sniff.

Sniff.

She rolled over, the jersey sliding about her limber body.

Sniff.

Cerulean eyes popped wide open and she sat straight up in bed, russet curls spilling crazily about.

"Chocolate." Moaned. Purred. Caressed all illlegally with the intent of her desirous tongue.

She slid her feet into the wide gaping mouths of her favorite monster slippers and shuffled forward sleepily with all the grace of a zombie.

"Mmmmm..."

Mataya

A yell of laughter preceded Mataya's entrance, dragged as she was by Finn, the Kangal dog whom she was still looking after while Riley and David were away. Coming up behind Fiora, she just about managed to dig her heels in and keep the puppy from tackling the realtor, laughing as she heaved on the leash.

"Down! Stay! Stop!"

Fiora was given a one-armed hug while 'Taya worked out what had gotten the dog so excited. A wide grin creased her face when she realised just who her newest neighbour was.

Leaning around the door, dog held firmly in check, she chuckled. "Well, look who moved into the neighbourhood!"

Hearing the bark of Finn at 'Taya's entrance, Clover poked her head out of the kitchen with a fresh bash of the brownies held in oven-mittened hand. The two ladies and pup received a wide smile, "It was too good an opportunity to pass up. Brownies?"

She set the fresh batch down to cool, indicating a tray that was already stacked with several of the delicious treats. Chocolate fudge brownies with chocolate chunks bakes beneath a layer of chocolate chip cookie dough, the two melding together in amazing harmony. There were small white plates beside the tray of brownies and plastic containers awaiting filling for the pleasure of taking home and enjoying later. "Help yourselves. Drinks are in the fridge." Indicating the fridge and the small wine cooler beside it as she put yet another batch of brownies into the oven. Perhaps she planned to feed the whole block?

"Christ," Rhys muttered, rolling over in bed and shoving a pillow over his head. That damned dog somewhere in the building was barking again. He wasn't too fond of dogs and for good reason, but he had yet to reveal the reasons to anyone. Even Lelah's little dog had made him nervous, though the dog had seemed mostly indifferent about Rhys.

Voices and the sound of laughter coming from the second floor did nothing to help him fall back asleep. Someone was having a party, and he wasn't invited. Again. He buried his head beneath the pillows, trying to tell himself that he didn't care.

And then he smelled it. There was no mistaking it. Chocolate. Brownies, in fact. Rhys would know that smell anywhere. He pushed a pillow aside and pried one eye open to glance at the clock.

Seven a.m.? He groaned. Who in their right mind made brownies at seven a.m.? Damned early birds.

There was that bark again, and it was starting to make his head throb.

Rhys tossed the pillows aside and swung his feet out of bed, grabbing his jeans from the floor and pulling them on. He shoved his fingers through his hair and straightened his rumpled t-shirt in a feeble attempt to look like he hadn't just rolled out of bed.

He pulled on socks and boots and exited Apartment 3A in search of brownies, like a mouse drawn to a hunk of cheese in a trap, hoping not to run into a cat. Er, dog.

A hug.

A dog.

Chocolate.

Fiora was all DIMPLES and good cheer. After hugging it out with Taya, greeting Clover, and asking a dozen oh-so-important questions to catch up with them both, she gave in to the urge that was driving her wild. Crouched down on Clover's floor she played with Finn in the wild rough way of a child. Lots of barking and giggling, tackling and huffing. Boy Howdy and Girl Hello did she want a dog of her own but she knew her schedule was not conducive to such responsibilities.

Rolling about she waved at the appearance of Rhys as she asked, "So what do ye think of the apartment Lux?" Why she had started calling Clover Lux made no sense to anybody but Fiora, but that was just the way she was.

Greetings and playing catch-up. Clover was sure to fill Taya in on the fun she had at Rocky and thank her again for the tickets.

Lux. It was curious. Clover couldn't recall exactly when or why Fiora started using that nickname. But as it held Fi's own personal brand of... well fi-ness, Clover enjoyed it.

"It is perfect." Looking around the space she'd made her own with a great fondness. "Great neighbors are just an added bonus."

A generous amount of brownies put into containers, one for Fiora to take back to her apartment and another for Taya and Max.

Blue-grey eyes carried to the man arriving, "Brownie?" Holding up a plate as she put a brownie on it for him.

Rhys grinned as he took the brownie from the redhead, green eyes looking her over appreciatively. "Don't mind if I do."

He noticed Fiora had joined them, and he grinned around a bite of brownie. "Hi, Fi."

He tossed a wink at Mataya and started toward the stairs. "Unless you ladies are in need of my services, I have work to do. Thanks for breakfast!"
